  • Switching account to new computer can't access old account w/changed email

I'm trying to access my itunes account on a rarely used pc that was used for my ipod and authorize my account on a new computer. My itunes account had my old email address and I forgot the password, so when I try to access the account and answer the security questions to send a new password, it ends up offering to send it to my old email address which is no longer valid....how can I access the account to change my email, and de-authorize my old computer and get my music etc. synched with my new one?....maybe I can just set up a new account on the new computer and dump my music from my ipod to it?

To remove the iCloud account you need to delete it.
Settings > iCloud > scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Acccount

  • New user can't access server

We are using Small Business Server 2011. It's been a long time, more than three years, since I created a new user. I went to the Standard Console and followed the Add
New User Wizard. I assigned the user to her computer. When she logs on, she can access e-mail but can't get to the shared drives on the computer. I tried on my computer, logged her in, and it's the same scenario. What am I doing wrong? I know it's something
simple, but all the users in the Standard Console, including the new two, have the same boxes checked.

    Hi,
Based on your description, would you please let me confirm whether just the new created user encountered this
issue, or all users? Did new created user use other function as normal? Such as Remote Web Access.
    à
can't get to the shared drives on the computer
Did you mean mapped drives? If can’t access, would you please let me know the complete error message? Or the
drive was not displayed when the new user logon the client computer? If anything I misunderstand or any update, please don’t hesitate to let me know. It may help me to understand clearly.
    By the way, please run
SBS BPA and check if find relevant issues.
    Hope this helps.

  • Need help with my iTunes-new computer-can't access my music

We just got a new computer and I transferred all of my songs from the old to the new and now when I try to access them in iTunes I get an error message that "it cannot be used because the original file cannot be located" Do I have to put in the DVD with all of the files on it in order to use any of my song? I thought that I saved them to my hard drive, but who knows....HELP!!! pLEase!!!

You haven't told us enough about what you did.
You need to explain exactly how you did your transfer.
If you don't care about your ratings and play counts and your really did copy your files across, there is a simple way of getting going again.
With iTunes closed drag iTunes Library.itl and iTunes Music Library.itl out of the iTunes folder to the desk top.
Start iTunes and you will have an empty library. Now simply add the folder with your music files in it - normally iTunes Music - to iTunes with File>Add folder to library.
If you didn't copy your files across, try putting the DVD in the drive and opening iTunes - can iTunes find your files now. If so it is a sign you added the files to your library without copying them to your internal HD.

  • New computer - can't access itunes account

I have a relatively new computer and an ipod I haven't updated in a long time. I have just tried to create a home share account to see if i can access my old stuff and update but it's not recognising my account and/or password
    HELP

First of all you should really post this in Itunes forums cause you might get more hits on it.. Anyway.. You can only authorize up to 5 comps on one itunes account.. This does not include iOS devices. Those you can have 10.
So to fix this issue, open itunes, hit store on the left side, click log in (or your e-mail address if you are already logged in) in the top right hard corner of the page. One you log into your account you will see a a little area where it says you authorized 5 out of 5 comps. Below it should be a button to clear all those out.  Itunes will de-authorize all computers on the account then you need to go back Store tab in the menu bar and select authorize this computer.
Remember it will deauthorize all your computers, so you need to re-authorize any other computers you have.

My iPad 2 certainly does not do this with its magnetic cover.  I call BS on this -- there's no way that happens as you've described.

  • New iMac can't access remote speakers in iTunes

i use an airport express to play music from eMac to my stereo. This works fine. I just purchased a new iMac. I'm able to turn the Airport On in iTunes, and I can see my remote speakers, but the selection is grayed out. I've tried updating the firmware on the airport express, performing a soft reset, unplugging it, and nothing works. Thanks for your help!!!

Did you ever fix this? I am having the same issue!

  • New Users can't access mail, "Access" granted but still not working! Help!

I am running snow leopard 10.6.6 and I am having an issue where new users cannot log onto their mail accounts from programs nor the web. Though their mailboxes are set up and recieving email just fine. There logins work everywhere else (wiki, blogs, workstations), but when trying to login to mail they get that the username or password is incorrect.
This does not affect the admin. And we have enabled access in the services area of server admin as well as restarted the server. Any other help? I searched and saw that solution but no others. Any help?
It's running on a Mac mini server

Ok I always like to close out my posts. For my new users not being able to login for Mail. The issue with the IMAP with mail clients was resolved by a repair of disk permissions & a restart. Not sure what happened there 100%. But saw that tip in another thread.
Post that, I was still unable to log into webmail for users. They were getting an error:
ERROR Error connecting to IMAP server: localhost. 61 : Connection refused
This was caused by the fact that i set IMAP to REQUIRE SSL, but for some reason Squirrel Mail did not reconfigure itself to match those settings. So to do that, you have to use terminal to put up an admin for Squirrelmail.
    Enter
    sudo /usr/share/squirrelmail/config/conf.pl
this pulls up an easy config menu for Squirrel mail. I needed to change two things, under SERVER SETTINGS, then UPDATE IMAP SETTINGS, then you have to change both IMAP PORT to 993 and SECURE IMAP to YES. Save and Quit ad you are up and running.
Hope this helps the next person!

  • New Computer - Can't Access My Old Music

The computer I was using when I first purchased my ipod died. I've recently purchased a new computer and it seems as if all my music died with my old computer. When I plug up to the new computer, it seems that I have to erase all my music and start over. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Hello there,
If you still have all of your music on your iPod, you could copy it over to your new library on your new computer. There are several ways you can pull the music off your iPod and onto iTunes.
There is a very direct method, which I personally prefer, but there are also numerous third party applications, which will help you accomplish the task as well. The link below provides step-by-step instructions for the direct method as well as a few third party applications if you choose to go that route instead. You can also do a simple google search for "copy music from iPod to computer" and you should receive a number of sites that can help you out.
Just make sure that when you have your iPod plugged into your new computer, that you don't hit "Erase and Sync." Hope this helps.
Also, if you have any purchased music, make sure to authorize your new computer by heading to the Store drop down menu and choosing "Authorize computer."

  • P67a-gd55 new videocard can't access bios

I have had this system for over a year now with no problems. I just upgraded my videocard from an 8800 gtx to a radeon 7870 tahiti le. Now the msi splash screen is too large for the monitor and if I try to access bios I get an A9 in the corner and it hangs. I've tried different keyboards and clearing the cmos. However it boots into windows fine and I even played the new Tomb Raider with all settings ultra for a few hours with no instabilities or problems. I am on the last revision of the sandy bridge bios, the newest bios says one the improvements is "enhanced pci e display card performance". Could that be the issue?

Presume you are connected via HDMI? Connect it to one of the other ports, VGA or DVI and then try it. Also, it may depend on the monitor. If it is an Apple, test with a different one.
Recommend to 'not' flash an Ivy UEFI/BIOS.

  • New SGE2010 - Can't access GUI

    Hi
With allot of excitement i decided to purchase a SGE2010 48x port  10/100/1000 Ethernet for our company in order to get the internal DHCP,  DNS and general net administration on metal.
I was under the impression that the initial setup was plug and playable,  but the reality was completely different. I started connecting the  switch to our existing infrastructure without luck. After that i tried  connecting to the GUI to see if the configuration was off, but was  unable to connect (used the default 192.168.1.254).  After that i  disconnected the switch from our network, did a factory reset, and  connected a single computer to the switch (tried various port), and  still i couldn't connect.
In the end i had to dust off an old machine with serial port and connect  to the switch through the console port to see what was going on.  Configuration options on the console were to say at least very minimal,  but i could see that both http and https were enabled, the device ip was  192.168.1.254, DHCP disabled, VLAN id 1, default system parameters like  stacking mode was on stackable (tried standalone without luck), and  layer 2 was on.
I am very surprised that i can't connect to the webgui through a  nettbrowser to the switch, since that is like what Step 2 in the  management manual. There it is stated that you should be able to connect  using any of the 48 ports.
For those who are wondering then there are no firewalls enabled on the  client, and this is a fresh install windows xp machine i am using to  connect, and ie6. Firmware on the switch is 3.0.0.18 which is the latest  one.
I would appreciate all the help i can get since i've run out of options. Am i missing something or is the switch faulty ?

    Hi rafn,
    Refer to ; http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/csbms/sfe2000/quick_start/guide/SFE-SGE2xxx_QuickStart.pdf
    The Quick start guide does state;
STEP 1 Connect a PC to any of the non-stacking ethernet ports with an Ethernet cable.
STEP 2 Open a web browser. Cisco recommends Internet Explorer version 7
or later, or FireFox version 3.  If you are prompted to install an Active-X plugin when connecting to the switch, follow the prompts to accept the
    plugin.
STEP 3 Enter the IP address of the switch in the address bar and press Enter. For example, if the switch is using the default IP address, enter http://
    192.168.1.254. The Login Page opens.
STEP 4 Enter a user name and password. Passwords are both case sensitive and alpha-numeric.
STEP 5 Click Login. The Switch Configuration Utility System Dashboard Window appears.
Check out the quick start guide  and try upgrading the browser you are using to IE7
    regards Dave

  • New login can't access database via SSMS

I created my Azure database “MyDatabase” and established admin login “MyAdmin” at that time via the Azure management website.
Now I want to create an application login and user “MyUser” to access the data.  But, when I did the below I still cannot connect via SSMS.  I get error:
Cannot open database “master” requested by the login.
I’m just trying to get to the tables under MyDatabase via SSMS.  What am I doing wrong please?
-- Connect to master database as myadmin and run:
    CREATE LOGIN myuser WITH password=‘Blah$Blah$Etc’
-- Connect to mydatabase database as myadmin and run:
    CREATE USER myuser FROM LOGIN myuser;
    EXEC sp_addrolemember 'db_datareader', ‘myuser’;
    EXEC sp_addrolemember 'db_datawriter', ‘myuser’;
    Thanks for any help!

    Hello fiverc,
Thank you for reaching out. You might be connecting to the wrong database (master instead of the user DB). In the 'Connect to Server' window in SSMS, click the 'Options' button. Then enter the name of the database ("MyDatabase"
in your case) in the 'Connect to database' field and then try to connect.
    Hope that helps,

  • New computer can't access TC

i have been using TC wireless with my mac book pro. I recently got a Mac pro (1st gen) which only has ethernet. It connects to the internet just fine - and sees the TC icon in the finder window.
If I double click on it - I am not able to connect. Says connection failed.
I would like to pull some files off that TC which was backed up from my laptop (it's in the shop).
I should mention that I have not backed up this computer to the TC yet.
Can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong.
    Thanks in advance.

Also, is it possible to pull an application off the TC???

  • Moved Library to new computer - can't access all music on IPOD

    Hi,
I apologize in advance if this exact issue has already been discussed.
I recently migrated all my data to a new laptop. I was successful in moving my music files over and re-installing the IPOD/I-Tunes software. Now, only 50% of my Music Library will download to my IPOD. The music that won't come across is mostly stuff that I purchased via I-Tunes.
    What should I do?
    thanks!

Have you played each track at least once within iTunes before you try and load the track to your iPod? If you haven't played the tracks once, try doing that and then see if they'll load; they may not be correctly authorized.
    Hope this helps.
