New PC: cant install vista

Hi,
I get my new PC last week and build it up. Everything seemed fine but when I tried to install Windows vista a problem came up. Installing doesn't even begin. I only get black screen when it should start windows installing. I have normally changed my mainboard to boot from DVD driver. I have changed my DVD driver to other DVD drivers and the problem is still same. Vista DVD is working well in my friends PC so its not that. I dint know what to do.
Mainboard: P35 Noe2-FR
Processor: Intel Q6600
Memory: Corsair 800MHz 4x1GB
DVD: Plextor IDE DVD driver
Hard disk: Seagate barracuda 500GB SATA
Graphic card: Leadtek 8800 GTS 512MB
PSU: OCZ GameXtream 600W

Try again with 2 memory sticks only, also do memory check with Memtest86

  • Cant install Vista SP1 on a 300 N200

    Hallo
I have tried every thing. Search the net. Got support from MS, but still. Cant install SP1 for Vista.
The installation goes fine, until the last step. On Step 3/3 it say 100% complete. But after a while it say, installation failed and that the system is restored.
I have tried installing the SP1 after a Vista clean boot with all not neede services turned off. No luck
I have upgrade every driver and BIOS with the latest from the Lenovo website.
Any idea how to get it installed?

    Hi!
Could you tell us whether it's a clean install of Vista or are you running a Lenovo pre-load? Also, are all your drivers updated? From my research there are two major culprits that can prevent an upgrade to Vista SP1 (either stand-alone or via Windows Update):
    1) fingerprint reader driver
    2) X3100 Intel graphics driver
However, the error you mention is known to Microsoft but they offer little in terms of a solution for this issue. Here's their explanation:

  • System restore on DV6 not working after new hard drive installed (Vista 32-bit)

    Hi there,
I have a HP Pavilion Entertainment laptop (DV6 1210sa) and recently on start up I have been receiving a message saying that the hard drive is at imminent risk of failure. I therefore burned the restore CDs and bought a new hard drive: (A Toshiba 2.5 inch 80gb SATA hard drive 5400 RPM). The first part of the restore completes successfully then the HP screen appears after a restart and then goes to install windows, but before this begins I receive a message saying “Windows setup could not configure windows to run on this computer.” I then have to restart and get the same message. Is this drive somehow incompatible? Is there something I’m missing?
    Thanks in advance

Here are the factory specs for your HP Pavilion dv6-1210sa Entertainment Notebook Computer. Based on the specs, the original hard drive was 250GB. This could be a factor in your issue. It could also be that the drive is an advanced format (AF) drive. Please provide the model of the drive for our review.
    Please send KUDOs

  • Cant install new iTunes, Cant install new iTunes

While I had my Ipod today, attempting to sync it, it wouldn't do anything, but it was recognized by the computer.  The Apple Mobile Device component randomly dissappered.  So I thought that reinstalling iTunes would help.  However, when I installed iTunes, it won't instal the Apple Mobile Device again, saying that I, "need to make sure that I have the proper authority permissions."
HELP!  I have tried everything that I can think of (disabling spyware and firewall, eliminating all related folders, etc.)

    Thank you TT2!
I followed your troublshooting tips as of 30 Jan.
Everything went well, except of course that Apple Mobile Device Support would never uninstall.
It seems that even Revo Uninstaller and CCleaner could not remove it.
Since I was curious, I did a search on my hard drive for "Apple Mobile Device Support", and found a lot of old versions (see below)
Your guide mentioned deleting files from C:\Program Files\
but you did not mention anything about C:\ProgramData\
Each of those directories seems to contain a file called AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi
So, I thought I would check and get your opinion before any manual deletion of these directories.
    Thank you!

  • Cant install new iTunes 12.0 ..

Since I deleted my older iTune version I cant install the new version 12.0
Since I already deleted the older version from my one comp I now cannot deauthorise or install iTunes 12 from the same comp or any other computors that is still on the same network

    Hello Re Mix DJ ,
After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help with iTunes installation. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice for the issue you are experiencing:
Remove and Reinstall iTunes and other software components from Windows XP
In some rare instances, you might need to remove iTunes and related software components before reinstalling iTunes. If you're directed to reinstall iTunes by AppleCare, an article, or an alert dialog, you can do so by following the steps below. These steps might take a while to complete, depending on your system.
If you're running Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8 see Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8.
Media you've bought from the iTunes Store or songs you've imported from CDs are saved in your My Music folder by default. They won't be deleted by removing iTunes. Although it's highly unlikely that you'll lose any of your iTunes Library when following the steps below, first make sure that your iTunes library is backed up. See iTunes: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive for more information.
If you have issues installing iTunes, try the options outlined in Issues installing iTunes for Windows.
If you've received errors regarding inaccessible registry keys during installation, try the steps found in "Could not open key" message when installing iTunes, QuickTime or Apple components for Windows.
    Steps
Remove iTunes and its related components from the Control Panel.Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order. Then restart your computer:
Don't uninstall these components in a different order, or only uninstall some of them. Doing so might have unintended affects.
    To remove these components:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Quit the following programs if they're running:
    iTunes

    Apple Software Update
    Choose Start > Control Panel.
In Control Panel, open "Add or Remove Programs."
Select iTunes from the list of currently installed programs. Click Remove.
When asked if you would like to remove iTunes, select Yes.
After the uninstallation is complete, don't restart your computer if you're prompted.
If you see other iTunes entries in the list, remove them by repeating steps 4–6.
Using steps 4–6, also remove all instances of:
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
    Restart your computer.
Make sure that iTunes and its related components are completely uninstalled. In most cases, removing iTunes and its related components from the Control Panel will remove all supporting files belonging to those programs. In some rare cases, files might be left behind. After following the steps above, confirm that the following files and folders have been removed. If any are left behind, remove them.
    To remove these files:
    C:\Program Files\Bonjour\
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\CoreFP
    C:\Program Files\iTunes\
    C:\Program Files\iPod\
Follow these additional steps if you receive a "Cannot delete iPodService.exe: It is being used by another person or program." message.
    Choose Start > My Computer.
Open Local Disk (C:) in Computer, or whichever hard disk your programs are installed on.
    Open the Program Files folder.
Right-click the Bonjour folder (if it exists). Select Delete from the shortcut menu. Choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion.
Right-click the iPod folder (if it exists). Select Delete from the shortcut menu. Choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion.
Follow these additional steps if you receive a "Cannot delete iPodService.exe: It is being used by another person or program" message.
Right-click the iTunes folder (if it exists). Select Delete from the shortcut menu. Choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion.
    Open the Common Files folder.
    Open the Apple folder.
Right-click the Mobile Device Support folder (if it exists). Select Delete from the shortcut menu. Choose Yes when asked to confirm.
Right-click the Apple Application Support folder (if it exists). Select Delete from the shortcut menu. Choose Yes when asked to confirm.
Right-click the Apple CoreFP folder (if it exists). Select Delete from the shortcut menu. Choose Yes when asked to confirm.
From the Start menu, select My Computer.
Open Local Disk (C:) located in Computer, or whichever hard disk your operating system is installed on.
    Open the Windows folder.
    Open the System32 folder.
Right-click the Recycle Bin and select Empty Recycle Bin.
Reinstall iTunes and its related components. After you make sure that iTunes is completely uninstalled, restart your computer and install the latest version of iTunes.
If the issue persists, look for more information on the iTunes Support page, including help with specific messages.
    iPodService.exe Alert
Follow these steps if the message "Cannot delete iPodService.exe: It is being used by another person or program" appears when you try to delete the iPod folder.
Make sure that iTunes and the iPod Updater utility aren't open.
    Press and hold Control-Alt-Delete.
    Select Start Task Manager.
    Click the Processes tab.
    Locate iPodService.exe in the list.
Click iPodService.exe and choose End Process.
    Quit the Task Manager.

  • Cant install any version of itunes on windows vista, does anybody know of a fix?

cant install any version of itunes on windows vista, does anybody know of a fix?

Since you don't say why it won't install, here is what I have found to work on a Vista machine, 32-bit:
Download but do not install iTunes file from Apple site
    Stop anti-virus and firewall
    Restart computer
    Login as Admin
    Run iTunes installation
    Turn anti-virus and firewall on
Restart and login as regular user
Vista likes to leave a lot of installers running in the background even when they finish and that interfers with the iTunes installer.

Make Your Own Mavericks, Mountain/Lion Installer
After downloading the installer you must first save the Install Mac OS X application. After the installer downloads DO NOT click on the Install button. Go to your Applications folder and make a copy of the installer. Move the copy into your Downloads folder. Now you can click on the Install button. You must do this because the installer deletes itself automatically when it finishes installing.
       2. Get a USB flash drive that is at least 8 GBs. Prep this flash drive as follows:
Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
After DU loads select your flash drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the leftside list. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list.
Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to an hour depending upon the flash drive size.
Use DiskMaker X to put your installer clone onto the USB flash drive.
Make your own Mavericks flash drive installer using the Mavericks tool:
You can also create a Mavericks flash drive installer via the Terminal. Mavericks has its own built-in installer maker you use via the Terminal:
You will need a freshly partitioned and formatted USB flash drive with at least 8GBs. Leave the name of the flash drive at the system default, "Untitled." Do not change this name. Open the Terminal in the Utilities folder. Copy this entire command line after the prompt in the Terminal's window:
         sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume
         /Volumes/Untitled --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app --nointeraction
Press RETURN. Enter your admin password when prompted. It will not be echoed to the screen so be careful to enter it correctly. Press RETURN, again.
Wait for the process to complete which will take quite some time.

  • HELP I cant install itunes 10.5 on Vista

My husband is going to kill me...I was trying to update iTunes so I could update my iPad and I kept getting the same error message, "The installer has insufficient priviledges to modify this file: C\programfile\apple software update\softwareupdate.resources\software update.tiff" So  I stupidly uninstalled iTunes and now it won't reinstall - I get the same error message. I don't know what to do! I attempted to uninstall the Apple Software Update program as well but I kept getting error messages telling me I don't have permission...  I'm about ready to panic.... Our computer has Vista running on it...

Hello Vista People!  It has taken me an entire day to fix the problem that NOT A SINGLE POST clearly answered the issue of "cant install iTunes 10.5" on my vista machine.  Or worse yet, the problem I was getting was a Windows Installer error.  What I discovered was that there was a corrupted Apple Software Update program.  When I did as so many have suggested, and uninstalled all the Apple products, and then reinstalled, and was unable to get a iTunes 10.5 to install.  The key to notice if you have this problem is that when you look in the Control Panel>Programs>Programs and Features, you will notice that Apple Software Update is showing, but there is no "publisher"....there is a file size, about 2.5 mb for me (yours could be different).  And when you right clicked or 'selected' the program in the the "uninstall or change a program" mode in the Control Panel>Programs>Programs and Features you would not get anything to do.  You couldnt uninstall it.  So after uninstalling and reinstalling repeatedly, I noticed that the Apple Software Update simply was not able to be 'changed'.  So, I downloaded from Microsoft "Fixit" the program called:  Microsoftfixit.ProgramInstallUninstall.run.exe  found here:  http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall  I then ran this program and when asked how I wanted it to work, I selected the equivalent of "Let me" make the decisions, (Not the automatic fix) and then selected that I wanted to "Uninstall".  When it finished running, it gave me a list of programs to 'uninstall' and I selected Apple Software Update.  When it completed, I checked the Control Panel>Programs and Apple Software Update was gone.  Once it was gone, I was able to install iTunes 10.5 without a problem, and better yet, I also noticed after the installation, in the Control Panel>Programs Apple Software Update was listed with a Publisher.  Now everything works.  I believe there is some issue with Vista corrupting the Apple Software Update software during the uninstall process and Windows Installer doesn't deal with it correctly.  I hope at least one other person can benefit from this, because NOWHERE did anyone do, suggest or clearly advise on how this was to be done.

  • HT1926 Cant install itunes on vista error hresult: 0x8007054f

I cant install itunes on my HP laptop. Says there is an error called hresult 0x8007054f

    HRRESULT: 0x8007054F
These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? Are they also 8007054F, or some other number? (If they're another number, what number are you getting?)

  • I uninstalled the old version Firefox then I tried to install the new one. But it asks me to restart my computer to completely uninstall the old version. I had tried to restart my computer for few times but i still cant install the new firefox version.

I cant install the new version. Everytime i tried to process the program it asks me restart my laptop.

Run the Firefox program once as Administrator (right-click: Run as Administrator).<br />
If that doesn't help then do a clean reinstall.
    Do a clean (re)install:
    * Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    * http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
    * Don't remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

  • Cant install new version old one still in use

when i try to install new version it says it cant install as old version is still in use

Make sure you have fully exited Firefox last by using the Quit option. In Mac OS X, applications do not automatically exit when you close the last remaining window as they do in other operating systems.
If you are quite sure that you quit, it's possible that Firefox may have hung in the course of shutting itself down. In that case, you can read these instructions for 'force quitting' an applicaton:
    http://www.techiecorner.com/769/how-to-force-quit-program-in-mac-os-x/
Only do that as a last resort though.
Finally, uninstall your existing version of Firefox before attempting to install a new version. You can do that by opening the Applications folder from the Finder, then dragging the Firefox icon to the trash can.
