Did you try to open teh fle by double-clicking its icon? If the file was made with an older version of Office, you may get that message. Try opeing PP and, from its "File" menu, see if you can open the ppt. I've foundthat often gets around that message and then yo ucan save the file from the newer version.

PowerPoint is not an Apple product and it seems a lot of people around here avoid Office.

Is my apple MacBook Pro laptop compatible with the new Creative Suite 6 program??

I own a Apple MacBook Pro laptop i currently have the operating system Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5.
my laptop is 13 inch laptop not a 15 inch.
Here is the following info about my apple computer below:
Processor 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 4000 384 MB
Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63)
I want to make sure that the new Creative Suite 6 program is compatiable with my apple
computer before i buy it. my mother last year had brought me the creative suite 5 program
for my Dell Desktop computer however, this computer later on crashed and now i am stuck with
the CS5 program my mother brought because, this version of this program she brought is
only for a desktop computer that has a windows operating system not for a apple
computer that has a mac operating system. At the time my mother nor i knew if, i
would be getting a new apple computer plus, i needed the program for school so that i
could work on homework assignments at home. Now i am currently stuck with the
windows version of the CS5 program which i cannot use at all. I tried to install it onto
my apple laptop many times before but, i only ended up getting a error message saying
that the software I had wouldn't install to the computer for some reason unexplained.

With the new OVI suite recognize phone device as "...

The problem started when I updated the OVI suite a couple of days before. With the new OVI suite my phone device (Nokia C5) is recognized as "s60 Handset" and I don't have access to my internal phone memory, but the SD card contents only!
I tried to reinstall the old version of OVI suite (2.2.1.23) that worked quite nice. I even deleted the Nokia directories and registry values on my computer when I uninstalled the new version and didn't make a difference.
Just don't tell me that the recognition of the phone device as "s60 Handset" with no internal phone memory access is a normal thing. If that's so I must remark that OVI suite made a major backward step.
When I experienced the Nokia OVI suite (2.2.1.23) for the first time I thought that Nokia finally made a difference in software programming.
Now I see that the bad practice of Nokia PC suite is still going on.

The new version of PC suite will work with Windows 7 . As for its compatibility with Nokia 7610, it should work..However trying it is the best way to confirm..because there will not be any harm to the PC or the phone if it doesn't ..
You may also try the Nokia Suite from here ..

New Ovi Suite 2.2.0.241 problems

I though that it was going to be different to the older version when I downloaded it and tried it again this week.
It doesn't seem to be improved at all;
- Backup - the SD card is included and can't be left out of the backup cycle! This takes a tremendous amount of time and space.
- Synchronisation - No details of changes are given and no report of changes made.
- Calendar sync - I need to keep years of calendar history and appointments months into the future. No good.
- Photos - I don't need to know I have 18,000+ photos on my PC. This part seems useless. I can't seem to be able to back up/sync selected folders (camera shots only) from phone to PC.
- Software updates seems to be buggy and not connecting.
- Overall is slow and unresponsive.
- It takes waaay to long to start up and to do a sync.
It this new Ovi Suite for teenagers or for business?
It's no good for my business.
I do sincerely hope Nokia keeps supporting PC Suite, because it is the only software that gets the job done for me.

If my experience with a 3220 is anything to go by, stick with the older versions. The latest 6.8 takes away the ability to create ringtones for the 3220, and the ability to upload images for phone wallpaper. Thank goodness I had a back-up copy of the older version. Have just had to buy a new PC, and I know which version I will be installing on it !

The only hint you'll ever get from Adobe is the official
Press Release which
is usually 30 days or so before they ship the final product.
Previous history of update cycles is your best guide and
updates have been
18-23 months apart this side of Y2K.

New OVI Suite version, still no connect to Maps se...

New version of OVI suite again.
Still fails contacting maps server.
Doesn't even seem to try communicating (no activity on network).
Anyone found anything on this?
Still have to update maps from the phone.

1)It’s good to check whether you can start Maps on device or not. If not then perhaps maps data has corrupted and them should be deleted by hand if device doesn’t prefer it by itself. There is guide in NOS help to do that. Basically the help advices user to delete qf-file and cities-folder from device’s memory card or mass memory.
2)Memory might be write protected.
3)If device has both mass memory and memory card then device and NOS should use same memories.
4)If Maps is open on device then NOS may not find correct memory but it can find wrong one in case of multi memory devices. If there is only one maps memory then other error page is shown.
5)Maps on device defines percent of memory how much Maps can use memory. Sometimes an error is shown in these if there is no more space for maps.
Please check these and hopefully it works out for you..

Bought new iworks suite this summer - can't open numbers...has a faded question mark over the icon

I bought new updated iworks suite this summer. I've opened and used pages, but when I tried to open the icon on Numbers on my dock it will not open. I only get options" and then can remove from dock. there is a faded question mark over the numbers icon. any help would be appreciated. thanks, K

Where are the applications stored on your HD ?
Keynote.app, Numbers.app and Pages.app must be located
in the folder Applications:iWork '09
What you see in the Dock are symbolic links (kind of aliases) to the applications.
It seems that for some reason the link between the Numbers symbolic link and the app is broken.
(1) check the locations of the applications and if they aren't in the correct ones, repair this oddity.
(2) If needed, uncheck the local menu item : Dock > Numbers > Options > Keep in the Dock
then drag the icon to the Desktop. You will get the Poof icon saying that the symlink is destroyed.
(3) Double click the Numbers.app icon to run the app.
(4) Now you will be able to check the local menu item : Dock > Numbers > Options > Keep in the Dock
so that the Numbers icon will remain in the dock when you quit the app.

New eLearning Suite 6.1 Won't Be Recognized or Installer Won't Complete

I have just purchased 2 disks and the liscense for Adobe eLearning Suite 6.1 for my home, but am unable to install my new software at all on my iMac home computer. Nine times out of ten, the disks are automatically ejected -- not even recognized -- and the 10th time, when recognized, the installer program will run only about halfway through. See the image below. Please help. I use version 6.0 all the time on my work computer, the Windows version, and thus the software is critical for me too on my home computer, not mention the cost I have paid to the local Thai vendor who helped me acquire the product. I love the software, but I can't seem to get it installed. I must be doing something very simple incorrectly. Below are some specs on my iMac.

if I directly double click "iPhoto Library" (which has a plain text like icon preview, not so colorful iphoto library style...), it tells me I should choose the app I wanna open it. After iPhoto chosen and opened, nothing happened, no photos in iPhoto main windows (events, faces, ..., all empty).
I aslo try "show package contents" and locate the exact photos' location in "iPhoto Library", which I believed should be in "iPhoto Library/Original/", all the photos in there could not be quicklook, opened by preview, Photoshop, etc. And the error msg says something like "format unrecognized" stuffs

Trojan In new PC Suite Release?

I was just prompted to dowload new version of PC Suite to my N95 8Gb, "Swedish" v.6.85.14.1 when finished, The install started and my virus program jumped on a possible trojan threat. It warned about a "Trojan.Bancos"
Anyone that has any ideas about this....?

I'm having the same problem with Nokia MM.
Fresh install of XP SP2 and PC Suite 6.8.21.
Tried converting MP3s to 48kbps M4A. The sound is tinny and distorted. This is true on the playing on the PC and on the phone.

New vCloud Suite Purchase and Install - No Edge Gateway?

vCloud Suite 6 no longer comes with vCNS, but does allow upgrading customers to bring their existing vCNS product forward. So what does a new customer do when installing an Edge cluster to secure things without vCNS? Is it pretty much mandatory to purchase either NSX or some other 3rd party virtual network and security product?

I've found the solution on another thread and it goes like this:
1) install the most recent Nokia Software Updater
2) install the most recent Nokia PC Suite
3) uninstall Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver from Add or Remove programs in Control Panel
4) install the older Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver (6_85_10)
Restart your PC if asked to do so.

New OVI Suite 3.0mbeta is available for maemo

they released the new beta for OSuite.
you can get it HERE
it is much better....and "prettier" then the previous version, but there are still challenges with maemo and the n8 that are seemingly random
i had challenges with it as did many others, but there were others that seem h,to be having it work fine.
if you are going to try it, i would recommend very strongly that you back up ALL your data and .pst files so if it goes wrong on you, you can jus+treplace the and go back to pc suite and replace all data on your device.

well, wouldnt you know, i just posted about how my oppinion about NOT using ovi suite to date 9/8/10 altthough they may release a new version tomorrow....and VOILA! THEY DID IT. LMAO
i am installing it right now, but not sure how it is going to work. will report later as i have to run out, after install and need to back things up before anything is tried.

pc suite works perfectly for syncing contacts/calendar/notes with outlook.

N900 -> PC suite (so that my stuff on N900 is not altered - N900 shall be the "master" so to say).
