New phone...Silent Mode option vanished after update to 4.1.1

Just bought this phone yesterday. Put in Silent Mode while at dinner. It updated itself to version 4.1.1 and now the Silent Mode option is missing under the settings menu. how do I get it back?

Yep same thing. I have an iPhone 3G and after updating to 4.1 I have "No Service" where I should have some.
Tried airplane mode, full power cycle - nothing. My phone is bricked (service wise, still functions but I dont want an iPod Touch, I want my phone back)
How do I get this corrected please apple?

Try typing in your 10 didget cell number. Restart iPhone to get the prompt again.

The silence switch is not working and apple say a new phone is only option, is this the case for such a minor component

I have the iPhone 4 and it's working perfectly, I can switch on the do not disturb option but would prefer to have a repair of the mute switch. Apple store advise they don't repair and a new phone is only option!

That is correct, Apple does not do repairs on parts, they will exchange the whole phone for the service fee:

Mail option disappeared after updating v4 iphone

After updating my iphone 4 the option to leave a mail copy on the server has disappeared, does anyone know how to get it back ?

I had the same issue. I called AT&T and chatted with a Technical Assistance Rep. He reset my phone using my IMEI and my ICCID(Sim) numbers. Now my Personal Hotspot is working again.

I have exactly the same issue as everyone above. I only get sound through the slider on the ringtone in settings and through my headphones. I do not get any sound anywhere else at all.
I Have tried:
- Updating to iOS 6.1.3
-re starting the device
-checking that the device is not muted. My slider switch is set to mute rather than lock and is unmuted.
-going into general settings and reset all settings
-the device reset several times (waiting until I saw the all important apple logo)
-removing the last few apps I installed.
Nothing at all has worked, please help!

On that last software update we (my family) have noticed on all our iPhone devices there is a huge gitch problem with our devices. My phone is an 4s but the other devices a brand new phones and they started since they updated the software they are having

A concern we've noticing since we have updated the lastest software... Our phone keep glitching and it's moving extremely slower than usual. I have the 4s and my kids have the newer phones 5c and the 5s. Is this a on going problem and if so when is it going to be fixed because this is terrible. Very disappointed customer. I was waiting on the newer iphone for myself but if apple can't get things straighten out with software I will have to consider your competitors. I have majority apple products and so far I am hating the issues I am having. Please fix soon. Thank you.

You speak about glitches in your iPhones but unless you describe those glitches, we are unable to offer any help. You mention you are having issues but we are not psychic and cannot imagine what those issues could be.

The Firefox What's New screen will not go away after updating to Firefox 10.0.

I updated Firefox to 10.0 on my Acer Laptop. Now every time I open Firefox the What's new page loads along with my chosen homepage in another tab. I can not stop the What's new page from loading.
No problem on my desktop, the What's new page loaded once then disappeared after that as it normally does.

New phone, text messages disappeared after less than a day's use

On my son's brand new phone, a Sprint Curve 8330, which he picked up this afternoon, he's been getting texts all day from friends, then at about 12:30AM he realized that all the previous day's texts are gone. Only texts I sent him after midnight are there. Why? This is a fresh new device. He installed Sprint TV and Sprint Music, and I installed Slacker and Viigo, but haven't even activated them (didn't have his email address to register the apps.) I can't see this being memory-related, having under 10 hours use on the device, with almost no app usage.
I thought that maybe I just didn't understand how it works, that it was "filing them away" into a folder for a previous day or something, but searching around did not find any texts from yesterday (just a few hours ago.)
Any help appreciated.

I've done this reset multiple times. And have succesfully done.
You said that you installed some app and after that this thing happened right? Did you install in mass memory or memory card? If on memory card then try removing your memory card and see if it helps.
If you have installed in mass memory then sometimes it can be problem. Assuming your phone is switched off right now! Just connect your mobile to PC/lappy. Wait for couple of minutes, your PC would recognise it as a storage device. If it recognises then copy all the important data you want to keep and format the memory card and mass memory. (I'd this problem when installed something like theme/app from untrusted developer.)
This method worked for me. If not then try again the hard reset
Hold down the following three buttons Volume Down + Camera + Menu button at the same time. (It will Hard reset your Phone, and may takes several minutes to restart your Phone)
While holding these buttons, hold the power button to switch on the phone. And remember press all these buttons carefully as you might not fully press all the buttons!
Release the buttons when the phone shows the nokia hands logo or shows other signs of life like the language selection screen.
As you might be aware of the data loss while attemping this method be sure you will lose everything.
If nothing else works then you might unfortunately visit a local nokia care.

IBooks library vanished after update

After updating my iOS to the latest version recently, I was dismayed to find everything gone from my iBooks library. Does anyone know if Apple is going to bother to remedy this unpleasant surprise for future updates?
I recommend backing up your pdf books by opening them in Adobe reader or Kindle reader for iPad to make sure important texts aren't lost.

Get your terminology straight ... No - if you did what KP suggested - according to your response - you reset the iPad - you did not restart it. I suggested a restart - and a sync again.
Two different things ...
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
You could try quitting all apps and then restart and try again.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

Buying new phone a month or two after upgrade

I wanted to know if I bought a new phone such as the Droid X would I have to pay the retail price? I upgraded my phone a month or two ago to the LG Cosmos.

If you purchased your Cosmos with a subsidized price by agreeing to a new contract, then yes if purchasing from Verzion you will have to pay full retail to get another phone.

There is a problem with firefox find option in new version ! i have noticed after updating to the new version the find option has become case sensitive

Now the find option in the firefox page which can be activated by pressing F3 is Case sensitive and this caused me a lot of problems
this problem wasnt there in older firefox versions

Sorry, that "mail" thing isn't a standard part of Firefox. Seek support from the developer of the add-on you have installed that added that feature to Firefox. Support contact information should be on the download page for that extension.

Realplayer plugin doesn't work (the tab to dl doesn't appear and right-clicking reveals no dl option either) after update to FF4?

I have updated firefox to 4.0.1, but the realplayer plugin doesn't work (the tab to dl doesn't appear and right-clicking reveals no dl option like it should either).
I have IE 9 too and the same videos tried in FF can be dl'd there but not with the new FF4, and i've checked the plugin against this page: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Using%20the%20RealPlayer%20plugin%20with%20Firefox#os=win&browser=fx4, but it's exactly as it says it should be, but there is not dl tab appearing like normal.
I have also tried updating to the latest realplayer and there's no difference.

i erased all my contents after syncing my phone, then updated it and went to sync it again and all my stuff (more importantly hundreds of songs) have vanished!!!!
