New Phone Warranty - Not from Verizon Store

If I buy a new, unactivated Galaxy S3 from the Internet (eBay) does it still have a warranty?
If so, is this the same warranty I can just bring it into Verizon for help/replacement?
Or is it manufacture (Samsung) warranty only?
Or is buying directly from Verizon the only way to keep the warranty?
(Long story short I'm already in a contract with a phone, so I have to buy the S3 outright. My understanding is if I buy used it will not have one, so I will be purchasing new, which leads to saving some money online or buying from the store)

nd since it was brought up above, does the Samsung version have in store Verizon support for replacements if it breaks?
Only once, and a receiving a defective device new in the box counts as this one exchange.  This period is only 14 days from the point of activation.  If it breaks after this point, you can send it back to the manufacturer, or get a pre-owned device from Verizon.
Speaking of misinformation. If you purchase a phone from Verizon(or an authorized reseller) it is under warranty for one year. You can have as many warranty claims as it takes within that one year. Just be advised, a software programming issue acknowledged by the manufacturer, is NOT a warranty claim.

  • Buying phone not from verizon.

If i buy a phone from someone that is a verizon phone but not from the verizon store, can i just switch my plan to that new phone? will this cost a lot? Or what are the rules with this one.....thanks

It depends on what plan you currently have, and if it is compatible with the phone you have selected.  A Verizon service rep can confirm this for you when you check the ESN.  The ESN is the serial number that identifies the phone on Verizon, it is found under the battery on most phones, but a quick Google search or check of the phone's manual should show you exactly where to look.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Navigate to Settings > General > Software Update and install any updates available.
Navigate to Settings > General > Reset > Erase all contents and settings on the device you want to restore.
When this completes and the Set-Up Assistant starts, choose "Restore from iCloud Backup" and enter your iCloud account and password. You will see the three most recent backups for each of the devices on which you enabled Backup. Choose which backup to restore from.

  • Verizon dealer claimed newer phones do not come with a free SD Card?

Is it true that newer phones do not come with a free SD Card?
Is the HTC Incredible 4G LTE supposed to come with a free SD Card?
    Back story:
When the Verizon guy opened the box and started to set up my phone, he asked for my SD Card. Thinking to myself that this is rather odd, I asked him why he needed it. The Verizon guy replied that the newer phones do not come with a free SD Card. I still thought that was a bit odd, but didn't bother questioning it as I probably had no control over the situation either way. It's been about a week or so, and it's still bothering me. I feel like the guy just said that to get a free SD Card...
Can anyone confirm if my HTC Incredible 4G LTE should have come with a free SD Card?
If it was supposed to, how can I go about contacting Verizon about my situation?
    Thanks in advancee~

pshhjay, I can address your concern about the inclusion of SD cards with new devices. Thank you to the community for your imput. I can confirm that you will begin to see more devices that do not include a SD card. That includes the new Incredible and Samsung Galaxy 3. No worries, since the SD card has been replaced with internal memory on each phone. I hope this helps! ^CM

    Hello reneep44,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
These two articles explain what iCloud backs up and how to manage the storage.

    Here’s what iCloud backs up:
Purchase history for music, movies, TV shows, apps, and booksYour iCloud backup includes information about the content you have purchased, but not the purchased content itself. When you restore from an iCloud backup, your purchased content is automatically downloaded from the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store. Some types of content aren’t downloaded automatically in all countries, and previous purchases may be unavailable if they have been refunded or are no longer available in the store. • Buying a phone outside of the verizon store, but getting a verizon plan?

If I were to purchase a phone, outside of the verizon store, would i be able to still sign up for a verizon plan? Would they charge me a fee if it is possible?

If you don't already have an I with Verizon Wireless or you are adding a line to use this phone on then you will be charged an activation fee to open the account or add a line to your existing account.
If you are planning to switch one of your current phones with this new phone, then you won't be charged an upgrade fee since this would be considered a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) scenario.

  • How do I authorize my new PC to purchase from itunes store? (it says go to Store menu and choose Authorize Computer but i don't see that option anywhere)

How do I authorize my new PC to purchase from itunes store? It prompts me to go to STORE menu, then choose Authorize this Computer (which i don't see anywhere) or Advanced (which I don't see anywhere).

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

I recently moved to Australia and received a new iphone with a local AUS number. I have a backup of my US iphone in the icloud. Question: when I activate my new AUS iphone which option should I choose - new phone or restore from backup?  I would like to have all my contacts, email, etc. however wasn't sure that option was appropriate since it is a different/new number and a new phone.

Yes, as new iPhone then restore from backup.

Paid for (not from Itunes store) music downloaded not showing up in library as usual. Imported CD also not appearing as usual. What gives?

I have seen 3 potential solutions in this forum
    1) If you are using iTunes Match Store > Update iTunes Match
    2) Logging out of itunes store and logging in again
    3) Downloading Free single of the week - no idea why this should work but people have reported it does

  • I'm upgrading to the 5, do i set up a new phone or Restore from backup?

I'm upgrading to the 5, do i set up a new phone or Restore from backup?

That depends if you want your current data on your new phone, then restore from backup.  IF you don't then set up as new.

  • Why is it that every time I connect my iphone into itunes, it always asks me if i want to "Set up as a new phone" or "restore from backup"?

Every time I plug in my iPhone 4 into iTunes, it always asks me if i want to "Set up as a new phone" or "restore from backup". But every time i click on restore from back up it deletes everything & that iTunes message is still there. Is something wrong with iTunes?

Apparently it does need to be restored because that is what it is requesting. You will need to restore it as New or from a recent backup if you made one.
