New Pixma Pro-10 only makes loud sound

I just received a new Pixma Pro-10 and am trying to set it up for its first use.  Following the Quick Start guide, I've removed all of the orange tape and shipping materials.  Then I plug it in and press the power button.  The printer makes some normal sounds for a few seconds or so, and then it makes a very loud grinding sound that it's obviously not supposed to.  After several seconds of that sound, everything stops and the orange error light flashes.
I've tried turning on the printer several times and keep getting the same results.  I tried calling Canon support, but despite the fact that this is 2015, their support is only open Monday-Friday.
Any advice?

    Turn off Find My iPhone in iCloud on the iDevice.
    Log out of iMessage, Facetime, remove Apple ID from iTunes & App Store.
    Use Settings > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
    Then set it up as a new iPhone with your own Apple ID.

    A DVD caame with the printer.  Why not use it?  Lost it, just d/l another copy from Canon.  It' free. 
    But the best is Photoshop Elements.

    I am ready to set up my new Mac Pro.  I know how to migrate my files from my G5 using Firewire and making the new computer a target disk.  My problem is, I have only 1 monitor.  Is there an easy way around this, OR of not, can I use my Macbook Pro just a monitor and if so how? 

    If you make the new computer a FireWire Hard drive, the only thing on its monitor will be the firewire symbol. You don't need a monitor to see that.
    But if you did, you could start the new computer up first, look at the firewire symbol, get a warm fuzzy feeling, disconnect the  monitor and plug it into the old computer to make the transfers.

    I have the same problem that started about an hour ago. Firefox started sounding like pac man. I uninstalled and reinstalled 3.6.3 to no avail. I guess I use IE until firefox fixes it.

  • K7N420 make loud sounds...

    I just got a new K7N420 Pro motherboard. When I set everything up and turn it on, it gives me some kind of sound code. Basicly beeep beep. It doesn't display anything on the monitor. I am using a 400 watt power supply. I have tried reseating everything except the cpu, which I think I am going to go try right now...
    What do you think is wrong? Is there a place where I can find out what the sounds mean? Thanks!

  • Brand new laserjet pro 400 only prints about 1" down the left side of the page

    I just unboxed a brand new Laserjet Pro 400 for a teacher, and upon running a test print, the printer only prints about 1" of the text down the left side of the page.  The text fades to white, and the entire remainder of the page is blank!  I re-seated the toner cardtridges, ran the cleaning program, and am still getting the same results!  Any suggestions?  A scan of the page is attached.  It came out this way after each solution that I tried!

    okay, try option-clicking on the speaker icon on the top of your screen. That should bring up a list of sound output options. including headphone. You could try messing around with Audio MIDI. It may be possible that the thing is still stuck inside the headphone jack. Careful use of a toothpick may get it unstuck. I dunno, I've never had a problem with the headphone jack. If all else fails, call Apple or take 'er in for an appointment

    Did you follow the steps in this linked kbase article, including the 2 hour wait on AC power and the 5 hour wait after forced sleep?
    It would help if you post your Battery Information from System Profiler (Apple menu > About this Mac > More Info > Power) - the relevant lines are Full Charge Capacity, Cycle Count, and Condition.
    Finally, check for 'runaway' processes using a lot of CPU power - in Applications > Utilities > Activity Monitor > CPU tab, click the popup to Show: Active Processes then click the CPU column header to sort by usage. Is there anything using a lot of power?

    I was curious if anyone else that just ordered the brand new 13" MacBook Pro which I got one and a half days ago has their internal fans spinning constantly? MIne are going really fast now for over an hour and all I have open is Safari, iChat and Skype. I'm curious if this is similar to the update Apple released for my early 2008 model 15" MacBook Pro a couple weeks ago for the fans due to them spinning at a high speed. Does anyone else have a similar problem?

    I just did some more searching on Google and found this article to be helpful and the fans seem to have slowed down to normal operation and the Finder is only using 7% CPU now.

    I only relaunched Finder and it seems to be running the fans a lot slower not sure if I will have to follow the rest of those steps if relaunching Finder doesn't fix it permanently. Let me know what everyone else thinks.

  • Speakers make loud sound when laptop is bumped

    I have a satellite Toshiba with the harman kardon speakers in it, its brand new out of the box and while I am playing any audio from it, if the computer is bumped or the bed it is sitting on is moved, basically any movement of the computer and the speakers make a loud weird noise.  I am wondering what is wrong, or if that's just how these speakers are going to act.... I don't believe that to be true.

    The accelerometer is the culprit for the buzz you hear when you bump the laptop.  Type Service Station in the start menu and hit the Check for Updates button.  There is a software update that addresses this issue.

    i never had problems with my old MBOX. Since 2 days I switched to Logic Studio 2 and Logic Pro 9. Very nice realease, but: when I create an audio object and choose the inputs in the channel strip for the MBOX, i only get Input 1, no Input 2! When I connect my MBOX in Logic (Audio Preferences) and launch with my started Logic, both Inputs are avaiable and both are working correctly. But never after having started Logic 9...
    Any ideas?
    I never had this problem with Pro 7 or 8.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus Make Audio Sounds In the Early AM Hours Recently

    My Office Jet Pro 8600 Plus has been making audio sounds usually around 4:30 am lately , but has also done it sometime after midnight also. The sounds will activate somewhere between 2 or 3 times every few minutes to 2 or 3 times in a minute. This will continue for about a half hour. It's been doing it for several weeks now. This is when the printer is not being used, and is a low power state. When I'm trying to sleep.  During this time the display screen does not come on and remains dark. Once I got up from bed and touched the screen to activate it to see if there was some kind of message, there was not.
    What's causing this to happen and what can I do to stop it. I've had this printer for 2 1/2 years now, and this is a fairly recently problem.

    I realize this may be a strange question, no more strange than the sound you are hearing I suppose, I was wondering if you could describe the audio sound for me?
    Knowing the type of sound that is occurring may help me to identify the cause. While I wait to hear from you, something to consider is the printers power source, is the printer connected to a wall outlet or a surge protector/ power bar?

  • New MacBook Pro 13' -- Random short buzzing sound

    Hi all,
    recently bought a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch) laptop and have some issues which may or may not be related.
    1. The last couple of weeks the laptop started making a random, brief, buzzing sound (maybe 1/4 of a sec in duration). Cannot identify any app that may do that. I looked in the logs (console) and there is nothing I can find to explain it - I also did a disk repair just in case
    Anyone knows what the buzzing sound could be?
    2. A few of times now (~3) the display wouldn't power up from sleep. I used the Alt+Cmd+P+R+power trick to reset and was fine after that. I assume that's an OS bug that will be fixed at some point. I sometimes plug the laptop to an external Dell monitor if that matters

    Same here (Early 2015 / 256GB SSD /  i5 2,9GHz) .
    Being in a very quiet room there is definitely some noise coming from the "W" / "E" keyboard area,
    when accessing (especially writing on) the SSD but it's also noticeable when scrolling through webpages.
    After some googling (there a lot of people with the same "problem") I think that it isn't some sort of defect.
    MacBook Pro Retinas apparently tend to produce this very faint so called "coil (whine) noise" coming from inductors inside of it
    trying to regulate high voltages. I think that's the tradeoff having such ultra fast SSDs.
    (I'm getting around 1200 Write and 1300 Read which is just insane!)
    It doesn't bother me that much though, I was just wondering because I couldn't figure out what part the noise is coming from
    since there are no moving parts in the MacBook Pros with Retina Display (except for the fan of course).
    I won't return my MacBook just to get another one with the same issue (which happened to some of the people)
    and apart from this mysterious, faint noise it's perfect.
