New Podcast Episodes won't download

I subscribe to a lot of NPR podcasts and this week the new episodes won't download. When I hit refresh at the bottom right corner nothing downloads but when I go to the iTunes store there are new episodes. I can get them there by hitting the "get episode" button, but why won't the new episodes in the itunes Store automatically download? anyone else having this problem? any suggestions?

Are you sure you have actually clicked on the "Subscribe" button rather than just downloading individual episodes?
Are the episodes listed in iTunes but not downloading, or are they just not listed at all?

Hi, I can't figure this out:
Our podcast episodes simply won't download in the iTunes app on iPhone. The download simply stops at 10.3 kB (or sometimes at another value), without really getting started at all.
This is very odd, since downloads are working fine in iTunes on the desktop, and in other apps on the phone (such as Instacast).

OK, seems like I located the problem - sort of. It's not the feed that's the issue, but rather the fact that I'm pushing my MP3-files through a PHP script which does some statcounting. If I access the MP3 files directly, the iTunes app downloads them OK.
So I'm guessing maybe my headers aren't exactly what the iTunes app is expencting? Here's a snippet from the PHP file which outputs the MP3 data:

Podcast episodes won't download correctly

I have submitted a podcast to iTunes, they approved it, and now I'm trying to download it to my iPod touch via the Podcasts app. I try to play it but it says there's no length to it, and it says "Playback failed". So I go to the feed (http://thisurlisoccupied.3owl.com/podcast/feed.xml), and find that when making the edit, the urls to the audio files were wrong. So I change it to the correct url. It's now working when I subscribe to the podcast going to the "Advanced" Menu in iTunes, then click "Subscibe to Podcast..."
When I go to the iTunes store, and try to download what I think should be the updated feed. No difference. Now, is this because I have to wait for iTunes to acknowledge the change, or is there something wrong with my server or feed?

It normally takes a couple of days or so for the Store to see changes: as there are thousands of feeds it caches them and checks them periodically for updates. As it's working OK when you subscribe then you can expect the Store to update in a day or two.

Garageband won't let me create a new podcast episode

I loaded Garageband tonight to start a new podcast episode and found it won't let me create a new podcast episode. After launching, I am presented with the four options of New Music Project; New Podcast Episode; New Movie Score; Open Existing Project. If I choose New Podcast Episode, I get a new choice of Saving As: and I can type in a file name, but I soon as I click on Create, it takes me back to the opening choices window. I can choose New Music Project or New Movie Score, but not New Podcast Episode. (I don't have any old episodes to Open Existing Project).
I have created a podcast episode in the past just tinkering around, but deleted those episodes a couple of weeks ago.
Any suggestions?

Cannot create a new podcast episode!!!!!

out of the blue, after reading HT's suggestion to create a software instrument
via creating a new podcast episode, if i click on the bottom option Create new podcast episode, i get a Box that says
new project from template and asks me to name and locate the project.
i do that and i click on create
and i get the same window that i started with again.
No podcast window is created
isnt this very strange?
It doesnt do this on my QUAD only the 2.5 DP.
anyone got an idea here

New Podcast Episode

When I open New Podcast Episode its evaporated! No trouble opening New Music Project, New Movie Score or Open Existing Project for my music ventures. I have checked the Template Folder and it holds New Movie Score only....no New Podcast Episode. Have also reinstalled iLife'06 and it's still missing. Seems strange in that everything else in in tact.
Can anyone help me out here? I've never been able to start a Podcast Project.

I've had a similar problem, and indeed only a radical System re-install helped. Before you take such a radical measure, you should check some things:
- Does the problem exist in other Apple programs? Like TextEdit, or iMovie? (Was the case with my computer.)
- If not, the problem seems to be GB specific, and you don't probably need to re-install the whole System. The steps to take are
1. Delete GB's two prefs files (com.apple.garageband.*).
2. Repair permissions.
3. Log in as a new user and see if the problem persists.
4. If all fails, delete all GarageBand files and re-install only GarageBand.

I have a new TV episode ready for download, but PC not recognizing it?

I have a new TV episode ready for download (via an email message I received on my iPad), but I am on my PC right now and in iTunes and I get a message that no new downloads are ready. How can I get the TV episode downloaded on my PC (I bought a season's worth)?

After being approved, how do you add more podcast episodes to itunes through iweb?

As you add new episodes to your podcast, they will automatically become part of the rss.xml feed and people who subscribe to your podcast feed through iTunes will eventually get the new podcast episodes. This is pretty much the purpose of having RSS feeds, so that people can subscribe to one feed and automatically get new updates as they become available.
As with your podcast description, it just takes a little while for your feed to get updated with new episode information. Actually, everytime you access the rss.xml, you should be able to see the updates.

New Podcast Episode Not Updating in iTunes

My name is Sara Simms, I have recently started a new DJ podcast series called Flight. My new episode has not updated yet in the iTunes store (its been over three days since I uploaded it)

I also uploaded new artwork via Feedburner, in the 'Podcast' section of iTunes I see the artwork has updated.

I just pinged Feedburner, hopefully this helps to update everything.
Could anyone else please let me know if there's anything else I should check/change to make sure my podcast episodes are updating?

Your second episode has a media file referenced at http://sarasimms.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/flight_episode_two
This works when the URL is entered in a browser, but at the URL has no extension (.mp3) iTunes does not see it as being a media file and thus does not display the episode. You need to give a full URL including the extension, as you have done for your first episode.
You are mixing episodes with and without media files - there are a lot of earlier episodes which don't have media files - these won't show in iTunes. If blogger limits the number of episodes shown in the feed, these will count towards that limit which could result in episodes not showing in iTunes once you have added enough episodes to trigger the limit.

ITunes Finds New Podcasts But Doesn't Download Them

I am subscribed to 14 various podcasts, all have been working fine for ages. Ever since I updated to 8.1, when I refresh my podcasts, iTunes recognizes that there are new episodes to download, but when it starts to download them it instantly stops and the symbol and "Get" appear on the episodes.
When I use my ipod touch to manually search itunes store and update I can find the episodes fine and download there. When I plug my ipod back into my pc the episodes update to my computer fine.
This is really annoying me now! It was working fine before!
If anyone else is having this problem or has fixed it it would be great if you could help!

I cannot honestly tell you if it should happen but I can tell that it also happened to me after experimenting with the restrictions setting two nights ago.
In over 30 months of iPad ownership using two different iPads I never tried Restrictions before. I was trying to help someone sort through an issue so I enabled restrictions. After I turned them off, my apps were covering 8 screens on my iPad and all of my folder structure had been destroyed. I restored from a backup and that restored my folder structure.
Should that happen ... I'm not sure .... Does it happen .... Apparently it does.

New podcast format - unable to download older podcasts

It seems they made a change to the podcasts setup.
Previously, when I wanted an older podcast there was a button to 'get episode'
now I don't see this option. Many podcasters do 3 a day. OK the thing is that i Unsubscribe each day, so when I subscribe again the next time, I only get one episode.

It depends upon the Podcast. In Windows XP, right-click the Podcast title in your *Podcast Library* after you have downloaded at least one episode. On the context menu is *Update Podcast* and selecting this will download the latest episode while other episodes will be displayed (greyed out as you don't have them) in your library list. Click on Get or *Get All* as required. Now - here's the difference - some Podcasters remove older episodes after a time and this time varies. For instance, the BBC (here in the UK) make only the current episode of weekly programmes available, removing older ones. One Podcast I follow leaves the current and the one previous episode available. There are several and reasons why they do this, but it usually boils down to copyright.
Tiesto's Podcast - forget it - once again, it's removed for copyright reasons beyond Tiesto's control. In this situation, you (usually) cannot get the old episodes, although for Tiesto, he does make them available on YouTube, but it's not quite the answer you want, is it?.

How can I delete an extra copy of a podcast episode that I downloaded via the iPhone's iTunes app?

I downloaded an episode of a podcast using the iTunes app on my iPhone.
I listened to it, and then later synced it to my iTunes.
I have iTunes set to delete podcast episodes after I listen to them, but this one is still on my iPhone.
How can I get this episode deleted from my iPhone?
I have a Verizon iPhone 4 running iOS 5.0.1.

It's not clear from your post if you've tried downloading the app again from the App Store directly on your phone. If you haven't I'd give that a try.

New Podcast Episodes Not Updating if Not Subscribed

Hey there,
My podcast hasn't updated the latest two weekly podcast episodes if you haven't subscribed. If you have subscribed, the episodes are available for download. XML uploaded yesterday.

The 'title' tag for your 2 September episode reads
<title>Love Thy Neighbor</title>
The ode at the start isn't upsetting the iTunes application but it's upsetting FireFox when used as a feed reader and is flagged as an error by FeedValidator, so it's extremely likely that it's upsetting the Store and rendering the feed unreadable. You need to remove it.
The code appears to be for a linebreak and is, I read elsewhere, permissible in XML 1.1 but not 1.0 which is what you have specified: in any event, you don't want a linebreak and getting rid of it altogether will probably solve your problem.

NEW PODCAST EPISODES NOT LOADING ON MY MACBOOK

For the past week, for some reason new podcast (all ten subscriptions) are not loading new episodes. These are thing like TWIT and TED podcasts, I don't even see them on the "All episodes" tab. I'm on Macbook Air, Mountain Lion, and iTunes 11.01
Is this a setting problem?

New TV episode won't apper in library. Any ideas?

I've just downloaded a new TV episode (the colbert report to be specific) on Season Pass. It downloaded fine and from the iTunes media folder will play perfectly, but for some reason i can not get it to appear in my iTunes library. Just a day or so ago i downloaded a different TV series and that's had no issues, and i can copy music to my library (from my computer, from cds and from itunes) without any problems. This is really frustrating me.
Any ideas?

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
