New podcasts not available since 5/6

I download daily podcasts to my ipad such as many ESPN daily programs, but they stopped updating since May 6 (all older podcasts are available up to 5/6).  They are available on the ESPN website, so I know they exist.  Why aren't they available to download through my iTunes app?  I am out of the country, so I don't know if that makes a difference.

Good luck getting an answer. I've been trying to figure this out for a month now. Podcasts on my macbook but nowhere to be found for the touch. Sometimes it's days before they appear.

  • "backup disk not available" since moving to 5GHz

    Dear Community,
I am getting "Backup Disk Not Available" since switching  to the 5GHz band.
I've have to leave the 2.4GHz because it's simply too congested round here. All the neighbours have wireless and I kept getting dropout and slow streaming of video and audio.
My Time Machine is extended by an Airport Extreme and both have 2.4 and 5 GHz bands enabled.
I looked on Airport Utility - but that is giving me a nonsense result - my Time Machine is not turned off. The Airport Extreme close to the room where I am - is only there to extend the network, but Airport Utility tells me that that is connected straight to the internet.
    What can I do?
    Thanks for your time.
    Yours,
    Amro

A second restart seemed to fix it!

  • Some Podcasts not working since upgrading to 1.2

Ever since I upgraded my IPOD to version 1.2, I have found that some podcasts which I subscribe to no longer work. It downloads and transfers to my IPOD OK, but when I go to play it my IPOD shuts down then eventually restarts. So far it seems to happen with KCRW's the Treatment, Creative Screenwriting & WFUV podcasts. I know I could probably restore it back to the previous version but I'd rather not as I have already paid for a game which I know only works with the new functionality (plus I like playing it). Anyone else found this?

There's another thread about this somewhere - many people have had this problem. I've had it with the Creative Screenwriting podcasts, which are the only ones to which I subscribe.
The thread proposed a workaround - start the podcast not at the beginning but one second in. You have to select the podcast, then I think do a Get Info or something - there's some way to find Options, then Start Time, then input 1 or 2 seconds in (with the CS Podcasts, this is fine, since Jeff tends to yakk on for at least two minutes before the interviews begin!)
I've not yet tried it, but it seems to have solved problems on the other thread, accepted as a workaround until Apple fixes it.

  • New podcasts not 'red numbered' on app icon anymore.

    Hi all,
Very tedious question but my new podcasts (prior to new update) would be numbered in red on the top of the podcast app icon on the home screen to see how many I have to listen to.
Since the update they are not doing this.
Any help about how I can get it back?
    Thanks,
    James.

There are a couple of other threads on this. In the latest update, it seems that Apple have decided the red number on the  icon will show the number of new podcasts downloaded since you last accessed the app. Once you open the app, this resets to zero.....
I would like the original number back, but you can still see the number of podcasts if you have a playlist or station with "all unplayed"....

  • New podcasts not showing up in iTunes

    http://rototalk.com/?feed=podcast
My feed had been working fine in iTunes until I uploaded a new episode yesterday.  However, this new episode (#8) is not appearing in iTunes (or stitcher for that matter, which I was just approved for yesterday).
Feed Validator is also saying my feed is now invalid, although I didn't change anything.  It was fine 2 days ago.  My new podcast episodes ARE showing up in Pocket Casts, the podcast player that I use on my iPhone.  Not sure what is going on.
BTW, I use wordpress and PowerPress to post my podcasts
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your iTunes Store page is at
    https://itunes.apple.com/podcast/rosterdoc-fantasy-football/id689353108
The latest episode showing there is that of 25th August. The feed has two further episodes, of 28th and 29th August, and they show when subscribing.
There is nothing wrong with the feed: the 'errors' in FeedValidator aren't significant, or even errors. 'itunes:order' is a newly introduced tag which is valid but it doesn't recognize; and it doesn't understand RawVoice. This isn't any sort of problem.
It's quite usual for the Store to take 1-2 days, sometimes more, to show new episodes as it caches the feeds and visits them in some sort of rotation to check for updates. Since the earlier of the two 'missing' episodes was posted only yesterday, 28 hours ago, it's not abnormal for it not to show yet. It's just a question of waiting.

  • Think the app will ever show the red number icon in the upper right corner?  Be nice to quickly see if a new podcast is available.

Think this new app will ever show the red (new) number icon in the upper right corner?  Be nice to know when a new version of a podcast is available...

Agreed. I do not want to keep opening the app to see if there is new episodes to listen to.

  • InfoSet maintance - added new InfoObject, not available in query

    Hi,
We appended a new field to the 0VENDOR_ATTR extractor and the data comes accoss fine.  We are using InfoObject 0CREDITOR in an InfoSet.  When I did an 'adjust' step to the InfoSet, the new InfoObject became visable but the check box is grayed out and the new InfoObject is not usable in a query.  Is there any way to change the check box so that the new InfoObject is available in a query?
    Thanks,
    John

    Hi John,
Change your 0CREDITOR InfoObject and make sure that the 'Attribute Only' box is not checked.  You will be unable to make it usable in an InfoSet query if this box is checked.  Let me know if this solves your issue.

  • Podcasts not available for browsing

When in iTunes I try to browse podcasts in the International - Dutch section (I live in the Netherlands) I get a message "Your request could not be completed. The item you've requested is not currently available in the Dutch store." Huh?
All other 16 listed languages are accessible (except Japanese, where I get the same message), so there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with my setup, and all my software is up to date.
I asked Apple support team three times, but they don't seem to understand the problem.

It just means that it's not available at the moment.
    I've found a workaround.
Choose Belgium as iTMS country (you don't have to Sign In) and browse to the same place again.
All the Dutch podcasts are available now.
I tried subscribing to one of them (Radio 538: Evers Staat Op) and it was succesful.
Probeer dat eens en laat weten of het gelukt is.

  • New podcasts not synching to my iPhone or iPad

While the Podcasts that I had subscribed to in the past are still syncing, any new Podcast channels that I subscribe to are downloading to iTunes but do not sync to my iPad or iPhone.  I have checked that:
the tick mark to the left of the podcast title is ticked
if I select the device in the left hand panel and go to the Podcast Tab, the Sync Podcasts is ticked (in fact other new podcasts being downloaded from the previously subscribed channels are downloading to my devices)
Automatically include All unplayed espisodes of all podcasts is selected
the effected podcasts are still shown as unplayed
I am using iTunes for Mac version 10.5 running on OSX 10.7.2.

Never received any reply from anyone on this issue and it is still outstanding.  I have taken some other steps and still have no solution.  I went to show the problem to one of the staff at the Genius Bar in our of the Apple stores.  He was unable to find the problem.  I have unsubscribed to all the podcasts and resubscribed and again it was only the ones to which I was already subscribed earlier that downloaded.  I have also reinstalled iTunes.  I could not de-install iTunes first as the system does not allow that.
The fact that the newly subscribed to podcasts do download to my Mac but then do not sync both to the iPhone nor to the iPad would seem to indicate the problem is either a 5.0.1 problem or an iTunes problem.
I have run out of things to try.  Any help would be appreciated.

  • Timing of when new podcast are available

I have a new podcast that I have seen using my installed windows version of the Itunes software but still do not believe that it is posted to the Itunes store. Does anyone have an idea of how long it takes for the video podcast to become listed?
The RSS feed is completely compliant with the requirments of the store.

    Roger,
thank you for the reply. I think the insturctions for posting even stated up to 5 days?? Thanks for the input.
I am a bit new to this and have posted my first one using Blip.tv, blogger.com and feedburner none of which involve using my own site. Once posted, or at least reportedly poted, I am having a bit of a time attempting to do a simple search just to find it using other Podcast players. I am finding that there is more to this search routeen than I would have believed. The RSS feed I used is supposed to be open ended and readable by most every player but I have tried three and my podcast is to be found nowhere. It was posted on Friday.
Any assistance you can offer would be appreicated.

  • Podcast "not available" in UK iTunes?

When I put the link for people to subscribe to my podcast in my blog it leads to a link that says (for me) this item is not available in the iTunes UK store.
I'm a UK podcaster and I can access it with a search and then subscribe. So how can I let my UK listeners subscribe through iTunes? How can I tell iTunes to add it to an international iTunes store? The podcast is hosted on a US site (libsyn). If I 'tell a friend' through the iTunes store the same link as below works fine.
Obviously I can't test what the result would be for a US person but the link I'm trying to use is:

    Any help much appreciated.

Well, it seems i was in luck with the e-mail to podcasts (at) apple (dot) com as i recieved this reply within a few hours.

  • Podcast not available in Hong Kong store?

Is there any reason why Apple event and keynotes podcast are not available in Hong Kong itunes store?

There is no obvious reason why your podcast should have been removed from the Store. I can only suggest that you email them at podcasts 'at' apple.com and hope that you can get a useful response.

  • New podcasts not grouping

I set up my poscasts into groups by editing the info for Grouping, ie News, Sports, Health ... from podcasts that I subscribe to. When a new podcast is downloaded, the grouping is not applied. For example, I subscribe to CNN Complete Update. I typed in News under the Grouping category in the podcast. When a new one is downloaded into the CNN Complete Update podcast group, the grouping is removed. Very frustrating. Please help. Is there another column I should be using instead of Grouping?

Is the grouping removed from existing podcasts or not applied to newly downloaded episodes? iTunes may not support applying to new episodes. You might have to apply the grouping to them after downloading.

  • Adding new podcasts - not showing up in iTunes music store

Is there some sort of manual process that must be undertaken when you add a new podcast to your site, to get it to show up in itms?
I successfully added my podcast series (had two of them ready to go) and submitted to ITMS. They accepted it, and it shows up just fine there. But after adding a third episode last night, it still only shows two episodes this morning.
Is there something more I must do?
    Jim

OK, I got it to work by running the feed through
feedvalidator and fixing all the errors. The wierd
thing is that the xml file was created by a program
called RSSBuddy, so it shouldn't have been messed up.
Interesting. I suspect that the XML parser used by the iTunes Store is fussier than the iTunes software itself!
I guess I need to find a new program for editing the
    RSS feed. Any recommendations?
If you're on a Mac then Podcast Maker is a great choice. For Windows there's a product made by Feed4All.
    Cheers,
    Greg.

  • New Podcast Not Showing Up In Searches

I received approval for a new video podcast form the iTunes store about two weeks ago, but the show still does not show up on searches in the itunes store.
The link to the podcast works fine, but it doesn't seem to exist when searched. Anyone have any insight? Any clues how to resolve?
This is the email I received:
    Dear Podcast Owner
Your podcast, located at [ http://feeds.feedburner.com/DrBrown ], has been approved. You should expect to see it in iTunes within the next few hours. When it's available, you will be able to access it with the URL below.

If you have questions or wish to make changes to your feed, please consult the technical spec at http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/techspecs.html. The spec contains detailed information about key topics like adding "cover art", changing your feed URL, and adding other helpful iTunes-specific tags to your podcast.
There is also an Apple Discussions Forum exlcusively for podcast producers, located here: http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1107. If you have a question or a problem that the technical spec cannot answer, the community of iTunes podcasters may be able to provide valuable guidance.
    Sincerely,
    The iTunes Store Team

I'm gonna have to go with "epontius' postulate of unfound podcasts" on this one, my friend. (Look at the last post in the linked thread.) You are but one further confirmation of the hypothesis.
What this means to you is: it is becoming more evident that podcasts with only one episode are not searchable in the iTMS . . . and you only have one podcast in your feed. Update your feed, put up another 'cast, and I bet that your podcast will become searchable a few days afterward.
