New Power Manager is Buggy and Slow (how to get rid of ATMdump.txt file)

The latest Power Manager v2.30 has a few problems. The program now takes twice as long to load during startup. This considerably slows the entire startup process. Also, the program creates a file named "ATMdump.txt" in the documents folder. Unfortunately, the file cannot be easily deleted. Even if the file is deleted through safe mode, the file regenerates itself during startup. You would think the program should use a hidden temp folder as a dump location. Oh well.

go to document folder via cmd (admin):
type: ATTRIB +S +H ATMdump.txt
it would make file system an hidden, so it wont bother....(you wont see it)...
I agree is stupid location.. Nowadays everybody can code programs....

Hi, first try this...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
Then...
Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.
Also...
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts (Users & Groups in later OSX versions)>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed. Or an errant process eating up RAM.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

You would reinstall 10.6 using your installation DVD.
Out of curiosity, how much RAM do you have? Recent versions of OS X really shine with 4GB or more.

Downloading previously purchsed music from iCloud is based on your iTunes ID, not your iCloud ID. (It uses "iTunes in the Cloud", which has nothing to do with your iCloud account, just your iTunes ID.)
If you are using a different iTunes ID on your iOS devices than the one you used to purchase the music, you'll have to sync the music to your devices using iTunes. If they are using the same iTunes ID, you can download the music to your devices as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519.

I just figured out how to get rid of the numbers. Click Notifications on the bottom left part of the Ical screen and some blank invitations will show up. Click one and a box shows up that gives you the option of deleting the Notification/Invitation. I did that for the 4 little boxes and the number is gone.

That's weird that these iphones are restored/activated through iTunes. I have a Apple so I have iTunes, yay!! I am guessing that the link that you gave me will tell how to put this iphone into Recovery mode? Now, this old iphone would of been activated on his laptop, which is with him and he is out of state. I have a new Apple, his new iphone would of been activated on our new Apple computer because he was here for Christmas and he didn't bring his laptop with him, or did he bring it with him, I don't remember now.... Now the question is, will I be able to restore his old iphone on my new computer seeing it would of activated on his laptop which is with him out of state. I got an address from Applecare, although I can't place my hand on it right now. I didn't bother persuing the letter route myself as I didn't expect much. I know that the location was Cork, Ireland though as that where the UK Applecare is based as far as I'm aware. The best thing to do is to call Applecare (if it's free) and discuss the issue. State that you are not happy wit the fact that you will have to pay to have the problem resolved especiiay if it is an ongoing problem that has not been resolved. I ended up speaking to a senior manager of the Applecare team who then proceeded to tell me about mailing in my grievence to customer services division or something like that.
If I can find the address I may post it if I'm allowed.
In the case of age, Schools usually have a 5-year life-cycle as they tend to be used differently than consumer machines, i.e. being used constantly on a daily basis for at least 12 hours with no break. you would expect issues to appear after a few years, but I expect problems that arise through defects to be resolved and stay resolved. As I mentioned we had machines for around 2 years before the lines appeared and sent them to be repaired. I'm happy with that. What I am unhappy about is the fact that the problem has reappeared exactly in the same way and now I'm left with around 7 machines that I either pay loads to repair or, the more likely replace the machines with newer ones since the age is now big enough to warrant the replacement.
Sorry for the lengthy moan, but these are the reasons I purchased Apple ahrdware in the first place to avoid the "not our problem" stance some PC vendors usually take, similar to the Dell monitors thread mentioned in here somewhere.
