New printer setup without setup cartridges

I client of mine recently purchased a Photosmart 7520, and was having problems setting it up. When I went to check it out, the printer naturally said "please insert setup cartridges".
They were told by the geniuses at Best Buy that the printer did not come with ink, and purchased a full set of inks, which they had put in the machine; obviously the machine didn't want these.
They claim that they did not come across a set of cartridges in the box, and had already discarded the packaging by the time I got there.
Whatever the case may be with that, is there a way to get the printer to accept a regular set of cartridges and proceed with the setup so they can get their printer working??
Alternately, is it possible to get a set of the setup cartridges somehow?

I understand you need setup cartridges for your printer. In order to get setup cartridges you would have to contact Hp support.

  • "Add New Printer" can't finish setup...grayed out

    Can anyone please help me with this?
    I have a Brother MFC-290c multifunction USB'ed into my Extreme Gigabit. It shows up there in Airport Utility.
    Upon printer setup in the Preferences Pane I click the + symbol to add a new printer. The Brother shows up at that point and where it is connected but the "Add" button is grayed out as though I need to select a driver as well yet there is no driver suitable in the drop down list. Do I need to install my Brother driver onto my Powerbook before this will work?
    The setup guide makes no mention of this in the section on adding a printer.

    Congratulations, you have just entered the crappy side of Apple, Leopard. I have the same problem with my HP 5510 attached to my Extreme 802.11n. It works great form my little powerbook running Tiger (the best OS I have ever used), but me and my wife just bought new Macs and of course both have leopard and neither will print. We have the same no river in list issue. I have spent countless hours trying to fix personally and with both Apple and HP. Both sugest that I spent even more money to purchase a new Printer that will work. Yeah so it will no longer work when Sow leopard comes out... Thanks Apple/HP...
    Sorry, to here about the bad luck... I'd like to suggest doing a Google on Cups and Gutenprint although I am not sure if anyone is supporting these anymore.

  • Setup adobe x pro with new printer

    i have Adobe X Pro on my Win 7 64bit Lenovo Laptop. I recently purchased a Brother MFC, Print, copy, Scan, 7860DW and cannot figure out how to set up Adobe X Pro to utilize the Brother MFC. In Adobe X Pro I select create PDF, from Scanner, Custom Scan. The Custom Scan window opens, I select the Scanner drop down menu and see Please select a device, the only option is Intergerated Camera TWAIN. The Options button is grey. I cannot figure out how to add my new printer. The printer works fine using the Brother software, not paperport. Should I delete the Intergerated Camera TWAIN? Please help.

    No such thing. You need to install a correct TWAIN-compatible driver for your MFC thingy - assuming one exists. Ottherwise Acrobat can just as well use WIA - with less options available of course.

    As some programs do work and others dont its most likely not an hardware issue. As wel that printing from a memory chip works as wel proves this. So its most likley a software issue.
    On the software disc of the printer find the Folder UTIL, and in there find the folder CCC. In that folder there should be a file called Uninstall_L4.bat (with or without the .bat added to it depending on your computers settings. Run that file and it will remove and cleanup your software. Reinstall it after that and try know.

  • Dual monitor setup without Xinerama or TwinView

    I've searched the forum looking for anyone who is using a dual display setup without using Xinerama or TwinView.  There are plenty of discussions to the contrary, but I running one window manager (DWM) on my primary monitor and anything else on the secondary monitor.  I don't care about dragging between displays or any of the other features of Xinerama and TwinView offer, but my current implementation is rather crude.
    So, I'm looking for a discussion on the this topic.
    Current setup:
    * Thinkpad T61 with NVIDIA M140 graphics
    * Samsung 24" external monitor (245bw)

    Vintendo wrote:I would like two instances of dwm, one for each screen.
    Default dual head does this. So no twinview or xinerama.
    Edit: and you run it with
    DISPLAY=:0.0 setsid dwm &
    DISPLAY=:0.1 setsid dwm &
    You can even use two different executables built from different config.h. It's fun to experiment with.
    and you setup the resolutions via xorg.conf "screen" section right?

  • No Black Ink with a new cartridge and new printer and was working

    I put in all new cartridges and everything was working just fine. I printed two black copies and then went into Settings to change to a lighter shade. Now no black copies at all. I went back into Setting and changed it to a darker shade (4) and still no black copies. I can print color - but no black ink appears with the color. It is a new printer. Please Help!!!! Thanks It is a HP Photosmart 6510....new printer. All was working fine until I went into Settings. I corrected what I had done but no black ink at all. HELP!!!!!

    Hi patmcshamrock,
    I understand that you replaced the ink in your new Photosmart 6510 and now there is no black in printing. I will try my best to help you resolve this issue.
    In this document for Printer Does Not Print Black Ink or Color Ink, or Prints Blank Pages are steps  that may resolve your issue.
    I hope this helps, please let me know.

  • New table in replicated setup

    Hi,
    Im having two datastores A and B. Whole datastore is replicated in two-way replication scheme.
    My question is what are the steps to be taken if Im adding a new table to this setup.
    After adding the new table in both the datastores, replication is not happening for the new table.
    Do I need to do a duplicate operation on one of the card after creating a new table in the other?
    Regards
    Pratheej

    Hi Pratheej,
    Please confirm my understanding that you are using legacy replication (CREATE REPLICATION as opposed to CREATE ACTIVE STANDBY PAIR). For legacy datastore level replication, when you create a new table in a replicated datastroe it is created as 'EXCLUDED" (i.e. as if it had existed at the time you created the replication scheme but you had explicitly EXCLUDED it. Hence to get that table into replication you need to 'ALTER TREPLICATION ... INCLUDE ...'.
    If you are adding multiple tables you can do them all in one 'hit' so in steps 5 and 7 you would do all the tables at the same time hence only one duplicate is needed regardless of the number of tables being added.
    If you were to use ACTIVE STANDBY PAIR replication then you could do this much more easily using DDL Replication.

  • Initial setup without a mouse?

    Got my iMac back from repair.  I have a wired keyboard and a wireless magic mouse.
    I'm stuck during initial setup because the mouse isn't recognized and the keyboard can't finish the setup.  For example, it won't let me use the Return key to select my country.
    And the Bluetooth setup assistant never popped up to even look for my mouse.
    Any way to finish the setup without having to go buy a usb mouse?
