New Problem:ONT Fixed Xbox 360 dropping connections

Ok SO After I got a new ont today, connection drops to all of my devices, execept my xbox 360, wired, are good, my 360 randomly disconnects every 15 minutes or so even just sitting on the dashboard, Ports are open, connected directly to the modem, and my dns servers are google dns 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4. Cannot figure this out for the life of me, just my xbox 360.

Are you saying that the connection drops to your xbox 360 but the other devices stay connected? We only ask this because you mentioned that it disconnects every 15 minutes or so. Is it the farthest away from your router? You may just want to change the wireless channel in the router. It sounds like you may have some potential wireless interference going on.

  • Having lag problems on the XBOX 360 - connecting to WRT160N wireless router.

Having lag problems when playing on the XBOX 360(wireless connection) after we installed our new WRT160N wireless router. Looking for ideals on how to fix this performance problem?
    Cable Conpany: Comcast
    Modem Model: zoom
    Wireless Router Model: Linksys WRT160N

    A few more thoughts:
    - Changing the channel settings does NOT achieve anything. I manually tried every setting with no success.
    - Changing the encryption settings did not help. I tried "open", WEP and WPA and none of them work.
    - Even when this problem shows up, the xbox360 wireless adapter successfully finds and associates with the wireless network. It even manages to read data from the network - it just does it VERY SLOWLY and disconnects often. This causes extreme lag in xbox live games, which shows up as unpredictable play and disconnects from games.
    - The fact that G-only mode works fine pretty much proves that this problem can be fixed with a firmware change. The xbox360 wireless adapter and the WRT160N can definately talk to each other using 802.11g successfully so there must be some issue with negotiating the correct version of 802.11x.
    - I've considered trying a third-party firmware, such as DD-WRT to see if this fixes the problem. Has anyone tried this and if so what happened?
If you are seeing this problem, please reply to this thread and say so. If enough people respond perhaps Linksys will fix the problem. Even if you're not registered with this board, registering is very quick and easy so don't let that deter you.
    Thanks

  • Problem with my xbox 360 and ps3

I have an The Sound Blaster? X-Fi Platinum Fatalty with front PanelAnyway, I'm trying to hook up my 360 to my x-fi so I can get surround sound. I plug the optical cable to the digital input on the front Panel digital-in then?

Sorry it took me so long to reply. I have tried restoring the network settings and i have restarted router. I am just so disappointed because my ipod is the only one out of all my friends and family that does this(I know about 15 people with ipod touches and one with iphone). My router works fine with my ps3, xbox 360, and laptop. By the way, its not just my router. It does it with any of them. I have had friends that say their ipod has problems with album artwork too. And, if it makes a difference, it started doing this after i got an update via itunes. Also, the restores made it take longer to reconnect to the router so i really think its just my ipod. I guess im just gonna have to deal with it. Maybe version 3.0 will fix it just as 2.1 or so destroyed it.
One thing i just dont understand is why geek squad did what did to my ipod. I told them that it wouldnt stay connected to my router and the guy tested my battery and hard drive. What does this have to do with that? He also told me to restore it. I mean, no offense to geek squad, but my brother could go in there and teach these guys how to do this. He didnt go to college for this stuff either but he built all of our computers and anytime we have a problem, he knows exactly what to do. He also owns his own computer business and helps people fix their computers. The only problem is that he hates apple so he knows nothing about it. Apple is getting so annoying, coming out with newer versions of things every few months and making so much crap that no one needs. I just cant wait until microsoft steps it up and makes a touch screen, internet and email compatible, zune. Sorry, this is just so annoying and disappointing.

  • WRT120N to Xbox 360 Wireless Connection

    hi,
My wrt120n was working flawlessly with my xbox 360 until two weeks ago. I can connect to xbox live with no problem but it will always disconnect within 10 to 15 minutes, my PC does not have this problem.
My SSID and WPA2 personal are setup properly. I have port range forwarded 53 - 3074, yet I still disconnect. My NAT does not come up as strict or moderate. When I watch my network on the 360 it drops the connection entirely for around 3 seconds and automaticly finds it again. My IPs are setup staticly. My firmware has been upgraded.
    Any advise would be appreciated.

  • No signal from XBOX 360 when connected to a 65HT2U through HDMI

    Good day peepz!
I tried to connect a  XBOX 360 to my 65HT2U and it says no video signal
I already tried using other HDMI cables
and resetting the XBOX display settings by using Y and the right trigger
Still it shows no video signal
The weird thing is the XBOX works with my Samsung TV's HDMI ports and
other dervices can work on the three HDMI ports of my 65HT2U.
Is this a compatibility issue between the XBOX360 models and my Toshiba TV?

    Hi,
Can you post back with the following.
    1.  The full Model No. and Product No. of the notebook ( from the service tag underneath your notebook ) - see Here for a further explanation.
    2.  The full version of the operating system you are using ( ie Windows 7 32bit ).
    3.  The full name of the display adapter.

  • Slow Xbox 360 Wired Connection Speed

My Xbox 360 Elite console is connected to my home network using a wired connection, but it has a slower speed (gathered using tests on this website) than all of the wireless devices connected to the network. The console achieves about 3 mbps, which is more than 3x slower than what all the wireless devices can achieve.
Here is a basic network map:
ISP ---> Master Router ---> 5-port Ethernet Switch ---> Slave Router ---> TV
                                                         |
                                                         v
                                                   Xbox 360
All wired devices have been labelled
All wireless devices are connected to either router
The TV cannot be tested as it does not have an Internet browser
Can anyone explain why the console achieves a much lower speed than the wireless devices? If so, can a solution be provided?
    Thank you.

I forgot to mention I recently changed the wiring of the network.
    Old wiring:
ISP ---> Master Router ---> 5-port Ethernet Switch ---> Slave Router
                                               |                     |
                                               v                     v
                                         Xbox 360              TV
    New & current wiring:
ISP ---> Master Router ---> 5-port Ethernet Switch ---> Slave Router ---> TV
                                                         |
                                                         v
                                                   Xbox 360
The old wiring made the Xbox 360 download at ~300 kbps and not able to stream videos (neither could the TV). I don't understand why the change of wiring increased the speed so much.

  • WRT310N gives my wireless Xbox 360 terrible connection when PC is wired

When my wired PC is linked to my WRT310N, my wireless Xbox 360 has a terrible connection and is repeatedly disconnected. When my PC is not hooked up, my Xbox 360 gets a perfect connection, just like it's wired. I've had this router for around a year and just ran into this problem 4 days ago. Discovered the problem an hour ago.

If the above settings didn't made much difference to the connection on your XBOX, then i think you need to upgrade the firmware of your Router.
Go to website linksysbycisco.com/downloads.........insert model no of your router in search tab......select proper version of your router........download the firmware file......save that file on desktop...
Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware on the device : -
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on a computer hard wired to the router...In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1...Leave the Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
Click on the 'Administration' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' sub tab- Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
Wait for few seconds until it shows that "Upgrade is successful"  After the firmware upgrade, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned back to the same page OR it will say "Page cannot be displayed".
    Now reset your router :
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

  • How can i get an xbox 360 to connect to my time capsule via WIRED connection?

I have a Time Capsule and i need to connect my xbox 360 to it because my stepdad has the network in this house set up crazily. He gets mad if i ask him to change anything because it is how he wants it and it works with EVERYTHING ELSE. I do not have a wireless adapter so i need to connect the xbox to my time capsule via a wired connection
    Thanks =]

Here is what I would look into.
Use iCloud and photo stream to upload pictures taken with the iPad.
Find a remote log in utility, or web based app to then remote to your computer.
Download the files from photo stream to your time capsule.
As far as recommending a remote log in utility. I have not experience in that area and would need to do research my self.

  • E2000 Xbox 360 wireless connection issues

My Xbox 360 will not connect to my Cisco E2000 wireless router. It can find the router, but when the Xbox tests the connection it can’t establish a connection with the router. Ironically when I try to use the guest account it can establish a connection with the router before I run in to trouble. Regardless I have looked in to the errors it gives me and they don’t help at all any suggestions will be appreciated.

What model is the xbox? 1st gen or Slim?
There are known issues with Slims WIFi adapter on this console.
Try setting single mode N, WPA2 only, Auto 20/40Mhz and manual channel 11 with Enable WMM turned ON.
Any other WiFi routers in the area? Link> Use http://www.metageek.net/support/metageek-software-archives/ to find out. Use v3. How many?

  • Time Capsule+ Xbox 360 wired connection

I am looking to pick up a Time Capsule to replace my airport express as my main router. I would like to plug in my Xbox 360 to one of the ethernet ports on the back of the time capsule, while still having a wireless network for my computers.
Are there any issues that I need to be aware of? Being that it is a "standard" router in a sense I would hope that everything likes to shake hands with each other.

    Works fine.
Xbox360 although may not connect to TC. Reason WPA security.
Work around> connect Express wired to TC set express to create its own network>Xbox360 will connect to Express wireless network fine including Live.

  • Problem with two Xbox 360's being online at same time with WRT54GS router

Hey guys, I have a bit of an annoying problem. I have multiple 360 consoles which are occasionally online at the same time. When one is on, it either causes connection problems with the other or blocks the other from signing on all together. Both are using the official wireless adapters and are hooked up to my WRT54GS. Usually when one of them fails at the connection test, it's a DNS failure, but it has occasionally been an IP failure.
    I've already tried:
-setting them both up with static IPs. This caused NAT issues and didn't really fix the problem with one of the consoles kicking the other off.
-forwarding ports to one while leaving the other alone, setting one up in a DMZ while leaving the other alone, and setting one up in a DMZ and forwarding the ports to the other. All three trials showed no improvement, and caused NAT problems.
Also yes, I do have UPnP enabled.
    *sigh*
This problem has been driving me up the wall for months now. No one I've talked to has been able to figure it out. If anyone can offer me a solution I will forever be in your debt.

You can set a Static Ip on Both the XBOX and then login to your router and do Port Triggering, this may solve your problem.

  • Having issues with 2 xbox 360 slims connected with an Open NAT

I have 2 of the newer xboxes connected via an actiontec MI424-WR Rev. E and I'm having issues getting an Open NAT on either. 1 is connected via Ethernet and 1 is connected wirelessly. My router is also connected to my computer. I havetried portforwarding and using a dmz host on 1 resulting in 1 360 having an open NAT(wireless one) and the wired one having a moderate NAT. Anyway I could get them to work together without asking Verizon to send me a new router or buying a new one. Please help.

I am having this issue also.  I think the UnPNP is broken on the ActionTec.  I may be getting rid of FiOS for this reason.  I had 3 Xboxes working from my DSL connection and LINKSYS router no trouble.  Very disappointed !   I was hoping to get a poll going so I posted my similar issue.

  • How do I get xbox 360 to connect to wireless.

We cannot get xbox360 to connect to the wireless network despite just purchasing an AirPort Extreme.

You can Buy a linksys WAP54G that will work as an access point to provide you with wireless connectivity. Then you need wireless adapters for 360s or you can try WGA54Gs from linksys to  connect XBox wirelessly.
