New profile doesn't show up in profile manager

I have 2 profiles already in ff3.6.18. I created a 3rd one and it shows up the first time i pull up the profile mgr., but after i close it out & bring up the p-mgr. again, its not listed. The first 2 are, but not the new one. I've searched this site, but can't find an answer. Any help much appreciated.

That might be related to the '''profiles.ini''' file, a text file which is located in the same folder as the \Profiles\ folder in App Data.
There is a much easier way of launching a specific Profile than opening the Profile Manager. Wouldn't be a bad time to learn how to do that now, since the current Profile Manager is going to be removed from Firefox at some time in the near future. My guess is that it may be gone before the end of this year. Hi, I just installed additional 1 Gb of RAM in my Mac Pro but the new RAM doesn't show on System Profiler whether I have it inserted on Riser A or B but everything is working fine. What gives?
By the way, my Mac Pro has 2 x 512Mb RAM pre-installed on Riser A and I didn't buy the new RAM from Apple. Thanks for the help.

I don't think the 1Gb RAM I bought is faulty cos:
1. It shows on System Profiler when installed on Riser A DIMM 1 (without original 2 x 512Mb RAM)
2. It shows on System Profiler when installed on Riser A DIMM 1 with 2 x 512Mb on DIMM 3 & 4
The funny thing is in scenario 2, System Profiler shows that I have a total of 1.5Gb. 1Gb on Riser A DIMM 1 and 512Mb on DIMM 3 appear but not the other 512Mb on DIMM 4. Why???
I'm beginning to think that I should have bought 2 x 512Mbs instead of one 1Gb. So I'm getting 1.5Gb of RAM instead of 2Gb!
Do you think if I purchase another one 1Gb RAM and have them installed in sequence (1Gb DIMM 1, 1Gb DIMM 2, 512Mb DIMM 3, 512 DIMM 4), I would then have 3Gb installed?

New photo doesn't show up after updating page.

Hi all,
I created a page and uploaded it to my site. Later I added a new photo at the bottom of the page, added a stroke around it and added some text as well. I saved the page in iWeb and uploaded it to my server. Everything looks good in iWeb but the new photo doesn't show up on my site. The text is there as well as the stroke around the photo, but no photo. I have tried resaving and reuploading. I have also cleared my cache. Also, the file for the photo is now in the folder on my computer. It's like iWeb displays the images but hasn't saved it on my hard drive. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hello Tracy,
First, hit refresh once or twice when you are at the offending page. Next, a few questions: what browser are you using and are you hosting on .mac or another service?
If refreshing the page doesn't fix the problem try and verify if the photo is being uplaoded online. Do this by checking under the support files for that particular page.
Here is an example of how to do that from my site: http://web.mac.com/ekashley/iWeb/Ash%20Films/Welcome.html has a large image of an orchid. I can verify that the file is there by going to http://web.mac.com/ekashley/iWeb/Ash%20Films/Welcome_files/Color%20Orchid.png and the photo will load by itself, proving it is there.
An easier way would be just to look under your idisk folder. But there is more then one way to verify.

Open Finder preferences, click on the General icon in the toolbar. Check the boxes for what you want displayed on the Desktop. Click on the Sidebar icon in the toolbar and do the same for what you want displayed in the sidebar.

It sounds like you have a newly purchased song that is not syncing to your iPod Nano, but there is no error message. I would start by restarting your computer, and resetting your iPod with this article:

New Superdrive doesn't show up in System Profiler

My old superdrive died on me, so I ordered a new one from powerbookmedic.com.
After installing, it doesn't show up in System Profiler. I've quadruple-checked the connection and I can hear it make regular healthy sounds when booting up so I know it's getting power but once I'm inside OSX; nothing.
I tried resetting the PRAM and SCM as recommended on this forum for various superdrive trouble. Although it didn't change anything and I'm guessing don't apply here.
Any tips for getting OSX to recognize my drive?

[SOLVED - Doh!] New kernel doesn't show up in grub menu

I've decided to play around with a new kernel, so I followed the instructions in the wiki for building the linux-pf kernel (ie, used the AUR). Although it doesn't include this step, I also ran grub-mkconfig. I can see a new Linux kernel in my /boot/grub/grub.cfg file.
However, it doesn't show up in the Grub menu when I reboot. I don't see any other step in the wiki, for either linux kernels or grub. What am I missing?

@op - If you see it in /boot/grub/grub.cfg and that is the file grub is reading, you will see it when grub goes live. Do you have a separate /boot partition and did you have it mounted when you updated the config? I'm guess you didn't and your config went on the root file system under /boot rather than to a mounted filesystem mount in /boot.

TS1373 plugged in new ipod, doesn't show in itunes

purchased new ipod nano touch, plugged into computer, doesn't show in itunes, when plugged in just shows as white screen and says do not disconnect, but never does anything.

Maybe your ipod is not formatted for the pc. Try reformating it to FAT.

New app doesn't show up at anywhere.

I bought, downloaded X_Plane 9, but it doesn't show up on either of the 9 screens, or in the app list under general.I went to the app store, and it says it is installed.

delete and install again - or check that it has same name on iphone. Sometimes names are changed for iphone screen and so hard to find

New drive doesn't show in System Profiler

I put a Seritek 1S2 SATA controller card and a Hitachi 500GB SATA drive into my Gigabit Ethernet G4 450 Dual Processor box yesterday. I cloned my boot drive onto the new SATA drive and rebooted from it without incident. And it's a pleasure to see the words "395 GB available" in the Finder window!
Later I went to System Profiler to see if the new hardware was there. It did indeed show the Seritek card, but the drive didn't show. Under Hardware>Serial ATA, it says no information available. This is not a big deal, I suppose, just a curiosity. Does SP not see the drive because it is connected via the controller card? It does show up in Disk Utility.
Another anomaly- SP showed the computer as having a single CPU. I opened Activity Monitor, which showed two CPU windows, but one was blank- no activity.
I rebooted and the second CPU reappeared in SP and AM.
Curious. Any comments on what is happening here?

I was thinking you must have a GigaDesigns cpu upgraded and that was why the 2nd cpu is "MIA" in SP, but no, normal G4/450DP.
Do you have any version of CHUD installed?
I like to zap the pram, or reset-nvram from within Open Firmware, just to be sure that the device tree is updated to reflect hardware configuration (affects memory, PCI, even disk drives).
As long as it is working, "don't fix what ain't broken" sometimes, like firmware updates for SeriTek etc if not needed or essential (for say OS update or disk drive).

New Tab doesn't show all tiles in Firefox 33

So I just updated to Firefox 33 and the first thing I notice is the newtab page is changed. I get a 4 x 2 grid instead of the regular 3 x 3 grid. I tried changing things through about:config and it says I should have a 5 x 3 grid. I can only decrease the number of columns and rows to see any change on the tab. If I shrink the tab using ctrl - it'll show things correctly but that doesn't save. What can I do to get newtab back to the way it was before updating or show things correctly?

Overall, I am seeing real strange "stuff" with the number of rows set in about:config and the number of columns set also, in multiple separate Profile in Firefox 33. I haven't been able to see any "order" in the chaos, as far as trying to pin down the fault.
'''browser.newtabpage.columns''' has a default setting of '''5''' which was set at '''3''' in prior versions, with '''browser.newtabpage.rows''' at '''3''', which was the previous value, too. Whatever I set those two prefs at, the maximum I see is 3 columns and 2 rows. Looks like a Bug to me.
Meanwhile, another Profile that I use - [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/new-tab-tools/ New Tab Tools] - in, is humming along unaffected in Firefox 33.

This work fine and show the search result. Now I've customized the Search Result Page, but it seems that wwsbr_search_api is navigating to a standard (fixed layout) search result screen (square item/folder links in stead of tabs) and not to my customized Search Result Page. If I click the submit button in the result screen then it navigates to my customized Search Result Page.
So why doesn't wwsbr_search_api navigate to the customized Search Result Page, or am I doing something wrong ?

New Message Doesn't Show on Icon in Dock

I've created a new Mailbox folder for a client and have a Rule for all messages that come from him to automatically go into that folder. This works just fine but when a message comes from him and is sent to that Mailbox the red circle that usually shows up on the Mail icon in dock when new unread mail is received doesn't appear. So I don't know I have mail from him until I unhide Mail.
Is this just a feature that Mail doesn't have?

I've got a smart mailbox named "Unread messages" that just collects ... all my unread messages (I do a lot of automagic sorting) and then have DockStar show how many messages are in that smart folder.

I can't create a new mailbox, doesn't show up

When I create a new mailbox, it does not show up in the left column of mail boxes. I read in another email on the same topic that the newly created mailboxes (I created or tried to create five or six of them that all never showed up), that they are "hidden" and that I should hover over "on my mac" and a menu will ask me to unhide mail boxes. But I do not see the phrase "on my mac" anywhere on my mailbox list. How do I create a mailbox, or where are the ones that I did create and are not visible? Thanks.

I did not find any evidence of the mailboxes on the google site. Also, I'm new to google mail, but though I couldn't find a way to create an actual mail box in mail, there were "labels" and under the menu of all the different categories they were all checked to "show on imap." This google account is set up on my mac mail, as I guess you might be able to see that and I do receive my employers mail from google right to my mac. This iMac is actually my second older one that sits in my kitchen for entertainment and downstairs access, so I don't care a whole lot that I can't resolve this, though I still would like to figure it out if possible, where the created mailboxes are going that is......I just went up to my main mac (new 27"). "On My Mac" shows and when you hover over it you can "hide" it. This doesn't seem to happen on my downstairs mac with the problem. I can't make "on my mac" appear when I move my cursor over the mail box menu. Because this is a secondary computer, I could very well at some wipe out the entire mail and start over, though I'm not sure how to do that being that mail application may not be easy to get back if I delete the entire app? since it's an onboard app that comes with the os????? Just thinking out loud about what I don't know!

Upgrade Power Mac G5 Hard Drive: But New Drive Doesn't show up??

I have a Power Mac G5 1.8 (circa 2003). I bought it in 2003 and it has travelled all over the world with me. I love it. It has been the best and most reliable computer I ever owned; and I'm trying to keep it humming along as long as possible.
I am currently running Leopard (OS 10.5.8).
I have 2.5 GB of Ram (I upgraded 2 GB a few years back)
I have currently run out of room on my Hard Drive 160GB - the original one that came with the computer.
I purchased a Seagate Barracuda 2TB Hard Drive (Seagate ST2000DL003) to replace the 160GB one.
However, when I tried to replace the drive - it wouldn't show up on my computer. I could see it appear on screen when I looked at Disk Utility but not in the window that allows you to select a drive? - and continue the installation process? did I buy the wrong kind of drive?
I'm 100% sure I'm doing something wrong. I just have no clue what it is?
Could someone please help; or point me in the right direction?
I'm not a computer whizz; nonetheless I'm not affraid to dabble in DIY.

My new ssd doesn't show up in Disk Utility please help

Hi all,
I had a HDD failure in my mbp (2012). It completly crashed. I was able to make a copy of some files through Disk Utility. (Note: at this point i could only enter disk utility after start up not in the actual OS)
So i bought a Kingston ssdNow v300.
What i did is the following:
Put an clean Mavericks install on a usb drive.
Put the ssd in the MBP
Pressed the option key to boot through the USB and the mbp didn't see the usb.
Booted up through command + R and the computer did see the usb however it did not see the new SSD.
Tried booting up again with command + R and it did see the SSD in the disk utility (after a long load time of recovering the disk data)
Now i knew i had the reformat the ssd in order to install OS X again.
However all the options are greyed out! I can't choose erase/reformat nothing.
Also i rebooted several times and sometimes the mbp didn;t see the ssd anymore... and sometimes it did.
Also if it does see the ssd in the disk utility and i close and re-open disk utility, the ssd in gone!
So sometimes it is recognized and sometimes it isn't.
I am not able to reformat it through an external exclosure or anything.
Also I tried deleting osx mavericks installer on the usb drive and put Os recovery assistant on it. (Which the computer did recognize)
But also this didn't work at all.
I really don't know what to do anymore.
I was hoping to be able to just simply reformat the ssd through disk utility but it doesn't give me this option.
please help is appreciated!

You need to use external media in FCP if you're going to work with Motion. Or export the clips you need from FCP.
