"New Project" choose option & when choose new, "Electric Guitar" -nothing!

Hi, Please would someone help me figure this GB preview/problem out?!
GB was fine for a few months, new computer etc but then...
here it is:
One day when I opened GB, i selected 'electric guitar' icon option in the 'new project' section where you can choose 'software instrument',
'real instrument' and 'electric guitar' options
to start the project off with, clicked 'choose' and nothing happened.
So i chose a normal one and went in and tried to get up a 'new track' and selected 'electric guitar' from there, but nothing. No amps or pedals anywhere in the right hand list section. Normal/software tracks opened and worked ok.
Now there are no icons/options in the 'new project' window,
at all!
It's dark grey - but if i double click on the 'new project' button on left list,
it brings up a basic style project name/signature/tempo etc window and then when it opens - does with software track.
So if i choose 'new track' from Track menu and select 'electric guitar' from the drop down preview tab thing w pictures like the preview thing used to be on the 'new project' window used to have, it doesn't do anything 'cept bring up the keyboard...
All the 'magic' and 'learn to play' etc options come up with preview choice/options when clicked but not 'New Project'.
Any ideas anyone?! This is what i've tried so far:
1. i've deleted garageband plists except the one that says "com.apple.garageband.LSSharedFileList.plist" cus i don't know what that one is exactly -
Is it safe to delete it?!
2. repaired permissions
3. Thought about other apps that might be causing probs - uninstalled a Guru drum thing -still no luck-
4. in the library and i can't find 'electric guitar' folder
in any of the application support folders...
5. and wondered - I installed a retail copy of Logic Express 8
so i thought perhaps that was something to do with it...
can't remember if that was around the same time - maybe - but
it's so difficult to use and i'm learning it o so slowly - i really need my faithful ole GB to work
in the meantime!!
Would appreciate any info/ similar experiences, solutions etc,
before i resort to a GB re-install from disc
(if that's possible from the ones that came with the computer, perhaps...???)

How to solve the noise issue when connecting an electric guitar?

I own a 15'' MacBook Pro of early 2011, with Lion Mac OS X 10.7.2
I have an issue when connecting my electric guitar (Guitar Rig 4 LE) via USB & starting the Garageband '11 (ver. 6.0.4). I tried playing with the settings to get around the fuzziness/noise that's produced when the guitar is connected.
The original software I got with Guitar Rig 4 ALSO had a similar issue, but I solved it by turning down the ''Gate'' volume to get a clear guitar sound. I tried looking for a similar thing on Garageband but no luck. I'm taking the online lessons via Garageband, with all that noise it makes it even harder to learn.
Hope I made my case clear, and I'm looking forward for any suggestions in this technical problem I'm facing.

Well, to be honest I had no idea what that was, so I opened Garageband and looked for that option, and it seems I can't access it during the guitar lessons. I tried exiting the lessons to the main window but the option you talked about under the ''Track'' tab was still faded (i.e. inaccessible).
Did I misunderstand you or done it wrong?
The noise even gets WORSE when trying out the Rock Guitar lessons, not so bad on the Basic Guitar & Blues Guitar...
By the way, I did try the ''Aggregate'' Audio MIDI setup thingy from the utilities to enable both ''Built-in Output'' & ''USB PnP Sound Device (which is the guitar)" and didn't solve the problem.
Running out of options. Opt for surgery? haha jk

No options when adding new e-mail address to Address Book

When I receive an e-mail from someone not in my Address Book, it's very easy to add that address. However, during that process, there seems to be no way to directly edit the new address entry, for example to add a last name, or prefix (Dr., etc.), or some other info. I found a mail script that will allow me to choose which Group the new address goes into, but nothing that will allow me to easily edit the information without having to go to Address Book, find the new address, and edit there.
In contrast, when adding a new e-mail address in Entourage, the Address Book entry pops up and allows me to make all necessary additions and changes very easily.
Is there some way to do that easily in Mail?

Thanks for the reply. That doesn't always work for some reason. Your reply came into my .mac address inbox. I right-clicked on the address and sure enough an editable Address Book card popped up. However, in another account mailbox I right-clicked on the address of a recent email sent by a client and when I chose "Add to Address Book", no editable card popped up, though the address was added to my address book.
Also, that client's email address is already in my address book. Since the client is Japanese, his email comes under his name in Japanese, while I have his name in English in the Address book. However, Mail seems to think that it is a new address, as that is the option it gives me when I right-click on the address. In fact, the address is already in the Address book, though filed under a different name.
So, two problems. 1. The editable pop-up window doesn't always appear when right-clicking an address in Mail. 2. Mail doesn't know that an email address is already in my Address book, though it might be filed under a different name.

No "New Smart Album" option when filtering "Photos"

When filtering all photos in the library using the filter bar, there's no option to create new smart album from the results, only for "New Album with Current Images". The option to create a new smart album only seems to appear when you're filtering a project.
Why?
You can create a smart album which filters the entire library, why doesn't Aperture allow the reverse: filter the entire library, and use the results to create a smart album?

That's a good question. No idea why the option to create a smart album is missing in that context but that doesn't mean you can't create a smart album that works on the entire library. In fact all the predefined smart albums under +Library Albums+ work on the entire library.
To create your own smart album that works on the entire library select +Smart Album+ from the New pulldown, just make sure nothing is selected when you do this and the Smart Album will work on all images in the library.
To check what part of the library the Smart Album is selecting from look at the Source: line of the filter HUD.

Lightroom no longer offers options when choosing an image to edit in Photoshop

For some reason Lightroom no longer gives me any options when I select the 'edit in photoshop CC'. It automatically opens the image with the lightroom settings applied but i want to edit the original without any lightroom effects applied.
I have Lightroom 5 and photoshop CC both with camera RAW 8.7.1

It has always allowed me in the past to send an image i am working on in LR to PS (I would choose to edit the original) the when saved down in PS it would then update the version in LR with the LR effects added as well. Suddenly it no longer gives me the option to 'edit the original '. I have always worked in RAW

Airport drive not showing up as one of the options when installing new programs

I purchased a large 120GB soundbank (Komplete 9 from Native Instruments) and need to install it to my MacBook Air which does not have enough space on the internal drive.
I have a 2TB Airport capsule and thought I would be able to install the program on there but it does not show up as an available option when I try to install the program (see screenshot). Do I need to buy an external drive that plugs in via USB instead? I'm hoping I don't need a MacBook Pro instead...

Programs usually aren't the biggest culprits in terms of space usage, it's normally data files that take up more space. This kind of huge library really is best installed on an external drive, provided you don't mind carrying it around with you. Here's how you install it on an external:

First thing to check is to see if there is a circular arrow around a small lock at the top right of your screen next to the battery indicator. If there is Rotation Lock is turned on. You can turn it off in the Control Center. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and find that icon in the panel that comes up. Tap on that icon to turn off Rotation Lock.
If Rotation Lock is not on try a reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

Creat a new change request always when a new package test is created.

Hi all,
I am facing or not a possible problem in our Solman 7.0 EHP1 support package 22. We're trying to open a new package test in our production environment. Always has been asked me by system to creat a new change request. So in our case the mandator option is not available in production invironment.
My question is:
Is necessary to open mandator option in this case or are there other option to create a new package test whitout create a new change request?
Has anyone experience by solving this problem or some useful SAP note?

let me explain more details what is happens in our QAS environment:
1) Open STWB_2 transaction;
2) Creat e new test plan;
3) After confirm "Generate test plan", you can see a new screen open to: "Creat object Directory Entry" with two options to save "Local Object" or "Lock Overview";
For me, the third step is about to creat a new change request. So we need to know if is this necessary, or I can disable this necessity to generate a request always.
Is necessary to creat a new request in production environment? Or we can disable it?

Can't choose Calendar when adding new events on iPhone

Hello,
I just got my wife her first iPHone. We've both got macs and have a family Mobile Me account. Her personal calendars and our shared family calendars show up on her iPhone, but when she tries to add an event on her iphone, there is no field to choose to which calendar you want to add the event. This is not a problem when adding events on her computer. As far as I can tell, her iPhone synced fine, though I'm not 100% sure.

Is there anyway to bypass going through the Album selection when I choose a song?
For example, if I click on "Artists", then click on "Aerosmith", the next screen displays the album. Can we bypass this screen and just go directly to the song title?

I was the person with the curser that was skipping backwards and typing my words backwards. Now it won't let me choose options when I'm trying to reinstall.

Okay. I was given the advice to make sure I had the latest Java. So I uninstalled all versions of Java. Reinstalled latest version of Java 6 update 23. Tried to reinstall Mozilla Firefox and got as far as the box that says: Import wizard settings and data. The curser bounces back and forth from the options microsoft internet explorer and don't import anything. It won't let me choose. It just keeps bouncing back and forth from those two options. Wow that was really quick, thank you so much. Im not sure at all which version it was because i said it was around 4 years ago he bought it. I know it isn't under his username, since he's a PC person (ugh) so i know its probably registered to one of our actual names. isn't there some way to look it up since we did register it, because I'm not even sure where the disks are from when we bought it (we've moved a lot and also have two storage lockers, i know i would have kept it with other disks) but my cd rom drive is actually broken on my computer as well ( i think it got stepped on and is now squished and won't eject or run disks.)
So is there anyway they can look up that its registered to one of our names since we did register it when we bought and installed it, or do i really have to find the disk with some sort of proof of purchase (i know there would be no receipt after all this time)

LR 4 - are you given the import option when uploading new pictures, I only get cancel?

I've been using Lightroom 2.7 and thought it time to upgrade. Everything seemed to be going fine until I tried to import some new pictures. My thumbnails came up and I allocated a file. Lightroom 4, however, isn't giving me the option to go ahead and import, only to cancel out. Please, any suggestions????

Can you tell us a little more Lucy?
You allocated a file - you mean you put a checkmark next to the photo you want to import? Or something else?
Only the cancel button available usually means there are no photos selected to import. If you can post a screenshot of what you can see, we can quite easily confirm that.

Can someone tell me why every I have to reset my options when a new version of Firefox is released?

So I just installed the latest version, and I had to reset Tabs on Top to false, reset my font because the default is too small for me to see well, reset how I want PDF documents handled (I do NOT want them to open in the browser), and a few other nitpicky things. Is there some reason these preferences cannot be retained between updates?

Prefs should be retained between updates and not get lost.
Do you have nay numbered prefs-##.js file in the Firefox profile folder?

After downloading newest firefox an option showed up: do you want one on these new skins to top your opening page? I opted for one of them and now can't get rid of it. I prefer the old . What's there now looks like a background for several toolbars. Contrast is bad.

You can set Firefox back to using the default theme. Open the add-ons manager (in the tools menu select Add-ons), in the add-ons manager go to the Themes panel. Click on the Default theme in the list of themes then click on the "Use Theme" button.
