New PS CS6 freezes on new Win 8 laptop

I have a new HP envy i7, 16GB, Win 8 laptop and am installing a new Production Premium Suite. I installed PS, Premiere and Audition. Premiere and Audition start fine, but PS freezes the moment it is started. Cannot access any menu items, and have to close nonresponding program via Task Manager. Can you help? Thanks.

Nothing in the Event Viewer logs. I start the program, it freezes when "Help Adobe Improve its Products" appears, close program using Task Manager, search Event Viewer - it shows no events that correspond with the crash time. The only thing with any frequency is Information - Event 1904 from source HHCTRL. This is a new laptop.

I installed firefox on a new Win 8 laptop, and my account can not sync with my Win 7 laptop.

I recently purchased a new Win 8 laptop. When I installed firefox and go to sync in option, it doesn't give me the old 4x3 box with code. When I entered my email, it couldn't find my account either.
I am not sure where is the problem, because my old Win 7 laptop and HTC One X are both synced, when I could use the 4x3 box. The Win 7 firefox and Win 8 firefox are both ver 29.0.1, but the sync tab in option looks different.
In summary, I have two problems
1) My old laptop has a sync account set up long ago, but not firefox is not recognizing my account by my email.
2) My new laptop doesn't give me the 4x3 sync code.
3) Just for safety, is there a way to export all of my firefox setting and bookmark from my win 7 laptop? This way I can have the files for backup, in case my sync account is corruptedd or something, and maybe I can import the files to the new laptop this way.

I got a new HP laptop that runs on Windows 7 (64 bit). After I install Firefox how do I copy all the plug-ins that are in my desktop XP machine to the laptop? I plan to connect the two machines with a router

PSE 10 Catalog from old XP laptop to new Windows 7 laptop

I have an old laptop with Photoshop Elements 10 and Windows XP. I am now changing to a new laptop with Windows 7 (64). Based on my understanding I should make to following steps:
With old XP laptop: Create a full backup of the catalog to an external harddrive using PSE 10 Organizer's Backup Catalog -function.
Install PSE 10 SW to the new Windows 7 laptop.
Restore the backup from the external harddrive to new laptop using Restore Catalog -function.
Deactivate PSE 10 from the old XP laptop.
However, I am a bit puzzled with the step #3 and I thought I ask first before doing anything.
In the old XP laptop I have all the pictures in the D:\<my username>\My Documents\My Pictures -directory. In that directory I have different kind of sub-folders for my pictures.
In the new Win 7 laptop I should have those in D:\userdata\<my username>\My Documents\My Pictures -directory.
As you can see there is a slight difference in those directory-paths. Due to that I assume I cannot use "Original Location" as a restore method. However, I want to keep those sub-folders which I have under My Pictures, so I cannot use "New Location" either. But if I use "New Location with the Restore Original Folder Structure" I guess I wll have something like D:\userdata\<my username>\My Documents\My Pictures\<my username>\My Documents\My Pictures or...?
So, just asking what is the proper way to proceed if I want to have same folder structure under My Pictures - folder, but use Windows 7 default path for My Pictures?

I guess it is always good to ask, since immediately after posting this question I realized I should use "New Location with the Restore Original Folder Structure" and the new location is just D:\userdata\
Of course, if you have any additional comments/instructions I should take into account, just let me know.

Why won't itunes download to my new Windows 8 laptop?

Been trying to get itunes for my new Win 8 laptop, but nothing happens. I click the download icon, message at bottom of screen asks if I want to run or save, but no download, then a "Thank You for Downloading itunes" message from Apple. Have set my popup blocker to "low" but doesn't help. I know I am trying to download the correct version-- itunes 11 64 bit. Doesn't make any difference whether I choose "run" or "save" download still does not happen. I've downloaded other software, Adobe reader, free card games, with no problem, so I am thinking it is something particular to itunes.

Can All These Be Synced To Win 7 Laptop?

I've just set up a new Windows 7 laptop for a friend of mine and copied over his iTunes library - he has an iPod Touch so I planned installing iTunes on the new Win 7 laptop and syncing the iPod Touch to the library.
However, he has now bought two iPhones (one each for himself and his partner) and an iPad2. He wants these all to use the same iTunes library.
Can all these devices be synced with his Windows 7 laptop?
And if he decided to replace the laptop in the future with a Mac, would there be any problems transferring the library from the PC to the MAc and syncing all these devices again?

Syncing bold 9650 to Vista and Win 7 laptops

Now I have a new problem . I bought a new laptop MS win 7, and I want to sync my BB bold 9650 to this and my old DELL Vista OS
I had to DLoad Desktop Software ver 7.1.0 Bun 33 cause its all I could find at the time . Found some ver 6.1.0 but they were not from Bb so did not want to download
When I sync my Bold with the Old DELL Vista the first 150 of my contacts got corrupted . It appears that the full NAME filed was moved to the company field and now
when i look at contacts in Address card I see nothing on the top line.
If I look at them in Business card view , I can se them but that is not the best way for me to be able to see them all easily .
I tried unistalling and reverting to an earlier DM ver 6.1.0 that I had before but that got corrupted and I am back to version 7.1. 0 Ver 7 dooes not use Intellisync so it syncs differently now
AT some point I deleted all the contacts on the device and transferred them via Out look one way sync .
I had backed them up before so I used that to send them to device.
Now I dont know how to map fields in BB to match outlook 2007 and if that was the problem why did only 100+ contacts have the field changed.
I could go through the 100+ contacts and copy paste "company " filed into name filed if there is no other way but I am afraid it will happen again if i don't figure out what caused it in the first place.
Is there a solution , and how do I map fileds in Outlook to sync properly with BB DM Ver 7.1.0 . I mapped them all correctly a few years ago when I converted from Palm to BB . Was basically trouble free for a long time

Unintalled and reinstalled . What I see when i go into advanced sync of contacts , fields > the first name , last name,
company name, fields are greyed out
I just cheked the new Win 7 laptop and the fileds are greyed out there also
So i dont belive all is well . Maybe they are not syncing all ?
I just synced after deleting one contact in outlook on my laptop and I see its still on my phone

I moved CS4 Standard to new Win 8.1 laptop. It won't recognize serial number.

I deactivated and uninstalled CS4 Standard from an old laptop. I tried to install it on a new win 8.1 laptop using an install folder (the new laptop doesn't have a dvd drive), but it wouldn't recognize the serial number. It installed ok as a trial, but this isn't a permanent solution.
What can I do to activate it properly with my serial number?

Same exact thing happened to me (with Adobe trying to sell me CS6)... I have Master Collection CS5, and installed it on a new PC running Win8.1. All my Licenses were good and it installed, but now it won't upgrade. I just got done chatting with Adobe and they said that CS5 will not update on windows 8, and I will have problems with it....
Also - Adobe does track how many times a License is being used. They only allow 3 registrations of any license before it will no longer install. You have to make sure you deactivate Adobe on any computer you're not using in order to free up a license. If you computer crashes and you can't deactivate Adobe, you can call them and they will usually add a license (if you've used up all 3 of your licenses) to allow you to reinstall it. (I know, as I have had both happen to me over the years).

Firefox won't open, error msg = can't find profile; deleted all app.data to rid new Win 7 Total Security virus - tried both v 4.0 & v 3.6 (now no error msg either). Can't open profile manager, can't open safe mode. pls help

My mother's computer was infected with the new "Win 7 Total Security" virus (apparently a fake antivirus program) - corrupted real av. To remove, we followed online advice to delete everything in AppData, for all programs, plus some other stuff. We moved it all to a flashdrive for safety, but after successfully removing virus, likewise cleaned & reformatted flashdrive. This apparently deleted Firefox profile(s), and after uninstalling & reinstalling, Firefox still won't open - I can't create a new profile. With v 4.0, I get an error message about not being able to find the profile. Found advice on how to open profile manager, but it won't open. Found reference to version 4 dispensing with profile manager, so tried installing version 3.6 again; still won't open, still can't open profile manager, but now no error message at all.

THANX for the reply cor-el. I've never had a problem using just "firefox -p", but i did use the full path like you advised after i read the profile manager article here before i posted my question. Unfortunately it didn't work. I've backed up all 3 profiles from the "%appdata% profile" file, and also from my remaining main profile that i'm on right now. I decided i'm going to uninstall ff3.6.28 & upgrade to "firefox 11" this weekend and hopefully create the other 2 profiles along with my main one. I do like in the newer versions of FF the tabs on top like googles chrome because it gives you more room on the page. I also like some other features too, but the main reason i kept my old version both times is because the newer versions didn't seem to load pages any faster than version 3.6.28. I'm not going to worry about some themes/personas not being compatible with ff11. I'll find some new ones. I think when i tried "ff9" awhile back along with my current version, i just deleted the shortcut that the article said to create on the desktop and still had all 3 profiles & no problems like i have now. In case your curious, the article on how to create more than one version of firefox at the same time was on the site "Dottech.org>[How To] Tip: Install multiple versions of Firefox to test before upgrading to latest release". It works but i obviously did something different this time that caused this problem. THANX again for your time/help, i do appreciate it.

Still want a solution for me to use my previous existing SYNC account (from my XP comp., for which I have the security key) on my new WIN 8.1 computer.

My old XP computer died. When I loaded FireFux on my new WIN 8.1 computer, "I never got the option to enter my old security key to activate my existing SYNC account on my new computer."
At this point I am so disillusioned with FireFux' SYNC feature that I won't even try to activate it on my new computer. "SYNC is nothing more than a crutch made of Papier Mache; after you are using it for a while getting around pretty well, it will suddenly become non-functional and be found to be beyond repair."

How do I merge TB data from a dead Win 7 computer to a new Win 8.1 computer with TB installed?? The old HD is good and old files are available.

My old Win 7 computer died.
I bought a new win 8.1 computer.
I pulled the HD from the old computer and put it in a SATA/USB case. Everything is there.
I installed T-Bird on the new computer and downloaded current e-mail.
Now I want to merge the thousands of old e-mails that were on the old computer onto the new computer?
What steps should I take?
If necessary, I could live with losing the new e-mails that are now on the new computer.

Since the site says the driver is already in Windows 7, then a different method of adding the printer will need to be performed to get the driver from Windows Update.
First, uninstall the printer from the Windows 7 system.
1. go to devices and printers and select Add Printer at the top.
2. Select Add a local printer.
3. Create a new port with port type Local Port.
4. The port name will indicate where the printer is located. The format will be \\<computer name>\<printer share name>. Leave out the < > symbols. For me, this would be \\mycomputer\printer.
5. The next screen will show a list of various printers. Click the Windows Update button to update the list to the most current.
6. Select your model printer from the list.
The rest of the prompts should continue from there without any issue. I do not have a photosmart 7760 to get the rest of the prompts from there, but it should work after these steps are completed on the Windows 7 system.
If the printer was added using the network option, then it won't work on Windows 7 and there won't be an option for the driver since a network driver doesn't really exist for the printer since it is not natively networked.
Selecting the network option is usually selected in this process and it appears to not work with printers that are shared from a computer. This process tricks the Windows 7 system into running the printer as if it was actually connected to the printer, but the port name directs it to the host computer.
Let me know what happens.
I did find these steps here in jimbo45's post. I did perform the steps with a different computer and printer successfully, but it should work in this scenario as well.

If you are having issues installing the new Win 7 PCI/PCIe driver.

If you have a problem with updating to the new Win 7 driver, you may need to do a virgin re-install.
Uninstall PatchMix and the drivers from the uninstaller, or from add/remove programs.
Power down and remove the PCI card.
Boot up and let windows do it's own clean up.
Power down and re-insert the PCI card.
Cancel windows hardware wizard if it pops up, (and it should), then install the most recent PatchMix and beta driver updates.
You may need to load a new factory template in PatchMix, and then rebuild any custom session templates you had.

Now, do you have to disconnect your printer everytime that you want to use it? If so, this is just a temporary fix and that's not something that you should have to do with regularity.
It's GLARING, the amount of people who are having issues with this software. Is APPLE listening to its customers? I'm to the point where I'm about to NOT recommend an I-Pod to anyone that asks. If they do, that's what I'm recommending. I'll also steer them to this website so that they can see with their own eyes, the problems that everyone is having.
This is totally ridiculous. I've been trying for THREE weeks to get my POS I-Pod Shuffle to download songs through I-Tunes 7.0. It's clear to me that these designers of this software haven't got a clue.
Sorry for the rant but I've had it with this junk.
