New PSE 11 and Old PSE 7

I want to replace my PC version of PSE 7 by my new PSE 11 for Windows 7. Should I uninstall PSE 7 or does PSE 11 do the uninstall as part of the installation process?

Hi,
When you start PSE 11 Installation it will not ask you to uninstall any previous version as they may co-exist on the Machine. If you dont want PSE 7 then uninstall it first and then install PSE 11.

Did you try deleting the mail account, then adding it back?   I've read a lot of times that is what needs to happen in order for it to work properly.

  • My NEW MAIL and OLD MAIL emails get deleted at random

At least twice in the last week, all of my NEW MAIL and OLD MAIL files were deleted. Some of these are very important files. I cannot work with a system that deletes my files, so that needs to be fixed. Also, I'd like to have ny deleted files restored.

Firefox doesn't even do email, it's a web browser.
If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.

  • Home Sharing does not work between a new computer and old computers

    Hello Guys,
I recently brought a new sony vaio laptop however it does not seem to work with my current homesharing system. My old laptop and the old computers which worked together, still work fine across different versions of itunes including the newest one. However my new laptop has the new itunes but it doesn't work. The old computers/laptops can pick up the new laptop and homeshare across however this new one cannot sense any. All are on same network as well as all have been athorised and on same homesharing. Doesn't seem to be firewall either. Help Windows 8 to Windows Vista to iOS newest one.

Fixed my problem. I just needed to upgrade the firmware on my router.

  • Got a new MBP and old external hard drive is too full for backup

I just got a new MBP and got all my data migrated and everything. I plugged my external hard drive in to run a backup, and it apparently is too full to run a backup of the new computer.  Even though all the files are the same (mostly), I guess it's not going to overwrite anything because it's a new computer.  Should I just get a new backup drive and start fresh for this computer.  Should I reformat my old backup drive (and if so, how?)?  Advice?

You should always have two backups of all vital data in any regard. A good 1TB Toshiba USB is $65
If there is NOTHING on the external HD you cant lose, format in disk utility > erase > format MAC OSX extended journaled.
then apply a Time Machine backup to the old HD of your new computer. That will free of a great deal of space.
However you should still have a 2nd backup of data.  2 backups is 1, and 1 is none.

    Hi Shikha,
I'm not sure it works or not. But you can try SCU3 t.code and table DBTABLOG. May it can help you out.

  • My new mac and old mac are linked, and I don't want them to be!

I had a mac and I gave it to someone and I now have a new mac which I set up in the same way. I have noticed that my internet bookmarks that I created on my old mac have been carried over, but I can see the bookmarks that the current user of the other mac is making, the other person keeps adding new folders, and it's just really weird, I don't want our computers to be linked in any way. Please could someone help me resolve this? Thanks!

If you still have contact with the person you gave it to, you may want to use the following guide (note that the reformat part will wipe out all data on the Mac including anything the new owner has added so that may not be advisable): http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5189
If you don't have access to the old Mac you could deauthorize all computers in iTunes per the following: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1420 and change your Apple ID password: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5624

File>reconnect, and then help the organizer out by pointing it to where you moved them.

  • New MBP and Old Aperture

I just purchased a new MacBook Pro. I bought Aperture at version 1.0 Will I be able to install the old Aperture disk and then upgrade?

Should work to upgrade to 1.5.6
If you're planning to buy the upgrade to A2.x, I don't think you even need to install 1.x. but just provide A2 with your legacy serial number.

  • New MacBook and Old Hard Drive

    I had a MacBook 2 and I have now bought a new MacBook 4.
As I sold my old one instead of using transfer assistant I have simply swapped the hard drives.
Everything seems to be fine except Time Machine won't recognize the old backups because the MAC address has changed. I am not bothered about that so I just created a fresh new full back up
I am wondering if there are other issues that I am not aware of?
My old Mac is doing fine with the new owner with no issues at all.

In my Mac and Windows experience: if you're within the same processor family AND same motherboard "chipset," then your OS install functions OK when you swap boot drives.
However, if your hardware changed between Core Duo/Core2 Duo processor families, or between GMA950/1300 chipsets, do not be complacent; re-install MacOS. Your Macbook may have subtle but critical issues eventually, such as bad drive reads/writes from the differences in the hd controllers.

Upon re-reading, I see you apparently installed a Leopard upgrade after the boot drive swap. This theoretically should avert any CPU/Chipset problems. In this case, I'd probably let things slide unless this was my only machine or my main production machine, in which case I'd re-install MacOS.

  • New Mini and old wireless keyboard must be 1" apart?

I just bought a brand new Mac Mini to replace older model of same. My old Apple wireless keyboard (probably 1st gen - the battery compartment is on the bottom) was working fine with old Mini, but with the new one, the keyboard loses connection unless the Mini and the keyboard are virtually touching each other. Move the keyboard a few inches away and connection is lost. I've taken all updates, including a BT firmware update, and still the problem persists.
Do I have a bad BT radio in my new Mac Mini?

Resolved. I took the Mini into the Apple store, and the Genius Bar discovered that, when they installed additional memory, that the cable connected to the Bluetooth antenna had disconnected.

  • New monitor and old monitor on mac mini

    Hi
I have a mac mini with a thunderbolt port and a new 27 inch led cinema display, i have an old moniter which is 20 inch and i believe has a DVI connection.
Is there a way i can use this as a second monitor?
    Many Thanks

You can utilise the second monitor by purchasing a Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter, placing the adapter in the mini display port and then connecting a DVI cable from the adapter to the monitor.

  • New computer and old ITunes library

Our old IMac finally gave up the ghost and was decommissioned because of mother board malfunction. We saved the hard drive. We replaced the old computer with a MacBook. When my daughter tries to download songs from her ITunes account to her Shuffle, all of her titles show up but the ones from the old computer are grayed out and unresponsive. When she tries to download songs she has added since we acquired our new MacBook, she gets a message that says "The IPod 'K.... Shuffle' is synced with another ITunes library. Do you want to erase this IPod and sync with this IPod's library"?
Is it just a matter of erasing her IPod and repopulating from the ITunes on the new computer? She's afraid she'll loose all of her songs if she does that but it seems to me she can just reload after she resyncs.
    Thanks,
    Jay

Unfortunately, her old songs were on her IPod and I thought they were on the MacBook Itunes (they appeared but were grayed out). The old songs disappeared when she restored her Ipod. I tried to access her ITunes library on the old hard drive but it says I "can't open ITunes with the current
version" (or something close to that). All is lost?
    Thanks again,
    Jay

  • New Set up of Airport Extreme with New Macbook and 'Old' Mac Mini

I have wirelessly connected my new Mac Book to Airport Extreme, and have tested the connection by using a shared printer. I have connected my old Mac Mini (OSX 10.3.9) via Wired LAN.The MacMini does not recognise a connection to the Airport Extreme. I would like to share files between the MacBook and the Mini, but they do not 'See' each other. What have I not done correctly?
Mac Mini   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

I have checked the IP addresses:
    Mac Book nn.n.n.200
    Mini nn.n.n.199
    Airport nn.n.n.1
    Al appear to be valid
A restart did not change anything.
I have been able to Ping each IP address succesfully from each machine, so the only aspect I can't understand is why each machine is not showing when I view the Network in Finder
