New Qosmio F10-101. Where is OneNote?

Just purchased a new Qosmio F10-101 in Greece with Greek Windows XP, but I don't seem to find Microsoft OneNote installed in my machine. In the european site in "Discontinued Models" the specs say clearly that OneNote is included with this model.
So, why is this software missing?

Hi Thanasis,
My copy of OneNote came on a bundled CD and I had to install it myself. It was not included on the OEM Windows XP installation, and it is not included on the recovery CDs.
I suggest checking the original packing for your Qosmio to see if there is a CD in there somewhere.

  • No audio in my Qosmio f10-101 notebook

    Hello,
My qosmio f10-101 was working properly but for some reasons I used the product recovery DVD-ROM, after I've got finished with the recovery DVD i restarted the system and unfortunately this blue screen kept showing on the screen and the system kept rebooting automatically.
Anyhow I decided to install a windows xp professional original version that I had before and it was perfectly installed except for ONE  problem
I found that there is no audio in the pc, i tried each and every way to fix the problem, i've used the "tools and utilities" cd-rom and all divers were installed except for the audio driver, i keep getting this message "microsoft bus driver should be installed before installing the audio driver", so i downloaded the bus driver but still I cant install the audio driver
I've been trying to fix this problem for 6 months now but I failed to
any reply would be very appreciated
    thank you

Probably you installed in the wrong order. You should install the chipset software followed by the display driver prior to any other driver. Also, install the Common Modules before any other Toshiba utility.
Get the Toshiba drivers and utilities for that model here.
I have attached the suggested order of installation.

  • Fan noise after graphic card changed - Qosmio F10-101

Two months ago i have had my graphic card changed from nvidia fx 5700 to nvidia geforce go 6600.
from my laptop toshiba qosmio f10-101. After changing the old graphic card there is a fan noise that starts and stops every 2 minutes , that it drives me crazy every time i'm hear it.
Can somebody tell me if this noise is natural and if he/she knows if the specific card is noisy in every laptop? or If there are any ways to disappear this noise or increase in the maximum speed the noise.??

I have a G20 and don't know the F10, but if you have video-in, you
can capture and save (and edit too) mpeg files with programs like Intervideo WinDVD Creator.

  • Qosmio F10 with replaced mainboard: Where can I find the right drivers?

    Hello guys,
Toshiba service replaced the board with a new one including a geforce 6600 gpu on my F10. So, now I formated the laptop and I want to put again back everything to work. But I see now that there are some different devices, like the 6600go gpu.
Where can i find the drivers (lan, chipset, modem..etc.) On the toshiba web site? If i choose qosmio F10 downloads, I get the drivers for the old motherboard (and graphics card 5700).
Anyone knows where to get the right drivers? thanks!

    Hello
    Check please THIS page.
I presume that chipset driver and also LAN driver are the same.

  • Need new motherboard/graphic card for Qosmio F10

Where can I buy a motherboard and/ or graphics card for Qosmio F10?
    Thanks, all.

Price, address and phone number please. Oh and an email address if there is one. I was hoping that E-bay might have a motherboard that I need, but I don't see any. I'm shopping around at the mo seeing where I could buy one.

  • Distorted video-out signal on Qosmio F10

    Hi,
Up until recently my video-out function on my Qosmio F10 worked just fine. When I connected my laptop to the TV the other day, using a s-video cable, the picture had turned quite distorted. The picture on the TV flickers and sometimes disappears totally.
My laptop has the Nvidia GeForce FX Go5700 graphics card and I have changed no settings what so ever from the point in time when the video-out was working properly.
To debug I've bought a new s-video cable and also a scart-adapter. Using these I've eliminated that the TV's s-video in port is the problem. It seems to me as if something is wrong with the signal from the graphics card.
I'd be very grateful for a diagnose on this issue.
    Thanks and regards,
    Johan

    Hi,
I've made sure that I use the latest drivers (although the ones that Toshiba provides are not exactly brand new!). I've also made sure that I use the correct TV-format (PAL-B in my case). Furthermore, I've tried both using the s-video port on the TV directly and also using a scart adapter... The result is still the same...
I'm inclined to believe that there is something wrong with the hardware (e.g. a loose contact in the s-video out port). In that case i guess this might be a warranty issue...

  • Qosmio F10: ERROR: "Unable to ACPI Name Space!"

The original motherboard with 855PM chipset was exchanged at Toshiba German service during the warranty period for the new one with another chipset (915 or 910).
The Toshiba "Common modules" were successfully running with the new motherboard until there was some trouble with Windows XP and I had to reinstall it. After that I try to install "Common Modules" Toshiba V.6.02.00" on my Qosmio F10 with XP Proffesional and SP2.
I have got a message "Unable to ACPI Name Space! GNS.exe terminated." The error appears 5 times, before laptop show me Next button and when i push "This is not and ACPI System" It's not possible to install ACPI device of toshiba" error appears and close the "Common Modules Toshiba V.6.02.00" application.
In addition when trying to shutdown Windows XP, the "Standby" button is deactivated and computer is not able to shut down automatically but requires to press "Power" button at the end.
Any ideas if it might be some kind of software or BIOS problem? Motherboard failure?
    Please, help.

    Hi
Thanks for the hint. Actually, I have got the driver CD from the service and used it.
Now I found the solution. The reason for the ACPI failure was that I integrated the new XP updates and the drivers from the CD into my installation package.
This installation did not work. However, after I reinstalled XP from the older installation package from summer 2006, the ACPI is running again. Thus, the correct procedure is, at first, to install the XP, then to install the drivers, and then, to install the XP updates.
    Best regards,
    Filipp

  • Qosmio F10 won't recover after motherboard replacement

    Hi,
I'm having a problem with recovery on my Qosmio F10. It won't boot from the CD, I get a message 'media test failure check cable'.
I tried everything I could find here about this problem with no result. Then I read somewhere on this forum that recovery cd wouldn't work if the laptop has been serviced and has a new motherboard. This is excatly the case.
I had a new motherboard and CD/DVD drive put some time ago.
How do I make it work again?
    A.

    > Then I read somewhere on this forum that recovery cd wouldn't work if the laptop has been serviced and has a new motherboard. This is exactly the case.
Who has replaced the motherboard? The ASP?
Well, usually the Recovery CD should works after the motherboard replacement.
I presume the parts were replaced with exactly the same parts and therefore there shouldnt be a conflict between the Recovery CD and the new motherboard.
Did you try to boot from another bootable CDs like Win XP or Linux? Check this!

  • Qosmio F10: Recovery DVD doesn't work?

Hi. I have a F10 series qosmio series lappy and well and well i keep getting random shutdowns, freezes, and a logon error every time i start up.
This has got very disturbing for me. I tried to use the system recovery cd i got with my laptop and when i follow the procedure stated in the user manual it starts the recovery then flashes that my system does not support the recovery.
Is this normal especially when i got my recovery disc with my laptop. I wish to reformat my hard drive back to factory settings and have it completely wiped with out having to buy a totally new hard-drive and windows xp.
What do i do and how can you assist me in this? I'm at the end of my teather as one of my jobs is an internet dj and I cannot keep crashing in the middle of my streaming. I do not wish to loose my job!!
    please help!

    Hi
Very strange! The fact is that you cannot use different recovery CD because every Recovery CD was designed for one Toshiba notebook model. For example you cannot use a Qosmio F10 recovery CD on a Qosmio G20.
However, I assume you use the delivered recovery CD (as you said) and usually the recovery procedure should works without any warnings or error messages.
In my opinion there is something wrong with the CD. Maybe the wrong CD was shipped with this notebook?
I recommend asking the Toshiba ASP in your country. There you can also order the new CD.
    bye

  • My Qosmio F10 doesnt burn CD's or DVDs

Hi all..please i need help..my Notebook(Qosmio F10) is not budrning any cd's or dvd's!!!! i really dont know why..i already tryed to install a new DVD-Rom new soft ware but stilln ot working..it reads only but when i wanna brun is not working!!!!!HELP

    Hi
In my opinion your drive is defective. Laser position for reading or writing is not the same. If you want to test it remove drive from device manager and restart the unit. Check the burning option also with Nero burning program. If there is no success I presume that drive is defective. Contact service partner and if the warranty is still valid the drive should be changed for free.

  • Qosmio F10-136 - Unable to install any drivers

    I have a Qosmio F10-136.
I have recently formatted the hard drive. Since I had lost the recovery disc, I had to use another copy of Windows. I downloaded the drivers available online from the Toshiba website but I have been unable to install any drivers except the wireless LAN. Most driver setups refuse to run at all, some seem to install the files, but the driver is not detected.
    Please advise.

    > 1. Sound device not working still - When I install the audio effect driver (i.e. toshiba virtual sound), there does not seem to be any effect even though it is installed. Then, when I install the SoundMax Audio System, it gives me an that the driver does not exist.
What do you mean exactly by does not seem to be any effect. Can you hear the sound coming from the speakers? Are there any yellow exclamation marks related to the sound card? If not then the sound card driver has been installed properly and the sound should work!
    > 2. I cannot figure how to install the LAN driver.
Where is the problem? Download the LAN driver, unzip the package, access the device manager, choose the unknown device (LAN card), point to the driver files downloaded from the Toshiba driver page and finish the installation.
The LAN card should be recognized properly.
    > 3. Same with the TV tuner drivers; there is not setup file.
As mentioned above; you can install the drivers in device manager. Choose TV tuner in device manager (possibly marked as unknown device too.) point to the TV tuner driver files and finish the installation.
    > 4. During the windows setup, I had created 3 drives, but I cannot access the drives D & E. When I try to access them, windows asks me to format them, but it gives me an error when I try to do so. Also, the hard drive is not shown in the disk management (not even C drive), so I cannot do anything. Although, the hard drive is shown in the device manager.
If other partitions have been created on the HDD then this should be visible in disk management. I dont believe that you cannot see even the C partition. In my opinion you didnt check this correctly.
Access the disk management (MY Computer, right click, manage). Choose Disk Management. There you should see the HDD and CD/DVD drive.
If the partitions have been created but not formatted then you would see just a free space.
Click right on this space and you could either format this or could delete the partition.
PS: I recommend using a 3rd party tool like Partitions Magic in order to create the partitions on the HDD (Win XP)!!!

  • Qosmio F10 - Speed Hard Disk

I'm planning to buy the Qosmio F10 with 100GB hd.. does someone have any experience with the speed of the Hard disk, is it one 100 GB HD or one 60 and one 40..??

    HI Rood,
I have no experience with the new 100GB HDDs but I had foud some informations.
The Qosmio f10-122 (sold in Italy) has built in a 100GB HDD with 5400rpm.
    Theoretical a 100GB HDD is a little bit slower than a 80 or 60GB HDD with 5400rpm.
    Hop this will help you.

  • Repairing Qosmio F10

    Hi,
I have a Qosmio F10 which has been bought into me for repair.
It has suffered the common nVidia GPU faliure but is in near mint condition and certainatly too good to scrap.
I have managed to get hold of a brand new OEM Service part motherboard to fit but i don't just want to put it in and then the fault occour down the road.
What id like to know is if there is anything i can do or anyway to modify the laptop to help prevent this happening.
Its not my laptop and i don't really want to start cutting it about to aid with cooling unless it will actually make a difference so has anybody actually found a way to stop it or at least make it last a good few years?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as i know the owner is very fond of her laptop and wants to keep it.
    Many Thanks
    Ben

Thanks for the idea but i know all this already.
It is well documented that this is a common fault with this specific laptop and Toshiba had to extend the warranty on this model to replace faulty motherboards.
They ended up re-designing the motherboard to prevent the overheating but apparently this shortened battery life and put extra strain on other components like the mains charger.
Everything on the laptop is working well and it has been thoroughly serviced.
all of the vents and fans are clear and working properly but as the replacement motherboard i have is of the older pre-fix design i would like to see if there is anything i can do to prevent the overheating from occurring in the future, either by modifying the case or the fan etc.
I thought i was being clear about this.
What i would like to know is if there are any other Qosmio f10-124 owners or anybody who has repaired a Qosmio f10-124 with this fault and what they did if anything to prevent the fault re-occurring.
