New radio firmware for 4.0?

Anyone know if the radio firmware is changing in 4.0? I have an iPad with 3.2 and it behaves a bit better for 3G/Edge change-overs, so I'd like to know if this improvement will be folded into the iPhone 3GS.

And related to this topic, will 4.0 run on the 3G S? Rumor has it, if a new iPhone is coming out in June or July, that the new phone contains the same CPU as the iPad. I'd think there'd be other differences between the two generations of phones, too. Perhaps I answered my own question...

when will new update (firmware) for E72 will come?

Firmware update for E72 has already been released..
v22.007 has been around for many European models since around January
v23.002 has been around for Asian/Middle-East models since this February.
Some operator-branded phones may not have available updates yet though.
You can use the Device Software Update page (search for the links in Nokia website) and enter your product code to find out if your product code has been included in the firmware updates already.

When will Sweden get the new v50 firmware for nokia 5800? Why is our country amongst the last few to get available updates?

I live in the US. I should be the one complaining! As an American, I'm not used to waiting forever for everything. The US is a large market Nokia neglects. Of course, few of us buy its phones but that's the company's fault for making so many **bleep** models. Many nations don't even get updates at all! They're still stuck on firmware 3. Trust me, you have it good up there in Sweden.

  • So, are we going to have the new v30 firmware for ...

After talking about new v30 firmware for the N97 we got the v22.0.110 which is good and fixing all the known bugs.
So are we going to have the v30 firmware or not?

as an N97 user I also hope there will be updates , but fear it will be left dead in the water , the severe memory limitations of the phone restrict how much can be done and so I expect it's had it's day Hope I'm wrong , but not very optimistic , hoping Symbian^3 will give the experience I had hoped for !

  • New BIOS firmware for B590 Notebook (20206)

    Hello.
Where can I find new BIOS firmware for B590 Notebook (model 20206)? support.lenovo.com provides an earlier version (08 Oct 2012), but I need at least the same as in the notebook now (15 Nov 2012).
Just wait for a new firmware becomes available at lenovo.com?
How can I find out when it will happen or whether happen at all?
Or at least how to save the current BIOS? Preferably by regular means. It looks like Lenovo utility can only update (and reported that the installed firmware is fresher).
    Thanks.

Still nothing. Is there any hope?

  • When will Sweden get the new v20 firmware for N97?...

OK, third attempt. This time I will not make any harsh comments directed at Nokia as they have threatened to remove my account.
Please, please, pretty please with sugar on top, when will you release the v20 firmware for unbranded Swedish N97? I would be super-duper happy if you would release it very, very soon and I would be even more happy if there was any kind of schedule for the release. I see that many, many other regions have it already but not the Nordic countries.
    Former owner of E90, N97 x2, E72, N8 and current owner of E7.

Sadly all you can do is wait like many people in many other countries have to do.  Shouting, ranting, threatening nokia on this forum will not get you any results whatsoever.
Nokia will not give you a date for a specific country, they never do because in most cases they do not know.  Different countries have different approval processes and some are more efficient than others.
Take a look at the software updates board and see how many people are in the same boat as you.  UK users have been especially vocal about it on a thread that I started. We managed to keep that thread constructive which lead to comments from nokia and coverage in the UK press.
It's a poor situation that for the moment we are stuck with.  Anyone that doesn't like it is welcome to foot with their feet.
As for v20 on the N97 you really need to fully reset the phone (dial *#7370# which wipes all data from phone memory) after installing it to get the most out of it.  Before a reset it's ok, after it's been great for me so far.
Also for the lens and GPS issues it's entirely at the care points discretion if they lend you a phone or not.  Care points are independent companies, not run by nokia.  Again some are more efficient than others.

  • New drivers / firmware for CDRW? and which one do i have?

hi, i have the Dragonwriter, the sticker on it says made in June 2002.  It reports during startup, and in Device Manageras teh CD-RW MS-8340 firmware version 100d.  It also says the driver is from Microsoft 4-23-99, but then goes on to say no driver is loaded or required for this device.
    Very weird.
I can't yet find any update files on the MSI site ... i found a description of the 8340 which is listed as having a writing speed of 48x ... but mine is more like the CR-40, as it only has 40x according to the label on the box and front of the burner.  So shouldn't my drive be reporting something other than 8340?
In any event, the Nero 5.5 s that came with the drive only lets me burn at up to 32x !  Have i been ripped off somehow?
so i'm all confused, can someone please set me straight as to if i need to upgrade or change my drivers/firmware/bios etc?  And is it Nero's fault or my drives fault that i can't get the option to write at 40x?
    thanks!

thanks guys!  yes, now that i've put a 40x disc in the drive, it is indeed now giving me the option to burn at that speed!
i still need to sort out a problem with the firmware updater.  This is what it spits out:
Detecting CD-ROM drives (check 2 IDE cables, 4 ports)
    Checking IDE #1 ok
    Checking IDE #2 ok
    No CD-ROM drive are detected
that seems weird eh?  I most certainly do have my cd-rw on Secondary Master, and cd-r on Secondary Slave.  Perhaps is this the stupid message it returns with if the firmware doesn't need updating?
btw, how to know what firmware i have?  It says 'firmware revision 100d' in Device Mangler, if that is the correct one.  Does anyone know to what version the vow-dos.exe updater is set to update to?
    cheers,
    charlie
