New release was good for ten minutes

I don't know if anyone else has this problem. When the latest release for aperture came out a few days ago, I installed it and aperture ripped, it was fantastic. Much faster I could whip through photos quicker than iPhoto ever could.
Now one or two days later its back to the same old game, loads of beach balls and pauses when flicking between images. Quite disappointing really.
So whats likely to have changed between here and there? I have imported around 200 photos since the update.

Definite increase in speed for me, but now Im getting weird black-outs of images when in HUD adjustment mode. It happens when I adjust sliders for sat. bril. and cont. and I need to re boot.
It wasnt happening in the prior release AT ALL...so I would have to concur with you that some things have changed.
I also have a 'bug'? ....where if I use the stamp tool and decide I dont like it and go..edit undo...the selection jumps to the next image rather than revert to the chosen image?
Also seems not a lot of suggestions have been written in...

Having tremendous difficulty with the new version of iTunes. Moving from a playlist to the main music library has iTunes using 100% of the cpu and listed as not responding. Not sure this new version was ready for release!

OK, issue seems to be when I've selected "Albums" as the view. Moving to "Songs" is OK. This problem just appeared with the new release. Anyone else having difficulty?

well nobody bothered to give me a hint on what to do, maybe because the problems with the new version of iTunes are really a lot, there is an enormous amount of people out there that have all sort of different problems including mine so I have decided to return to the previous version which works fine and wait untill the apple people come up with a decent product ....

I was charged for overage minutes after I was told upgrading to a next higher plan would not.

During the month of January, I was about to go over on my minutes and I called Customer Service. A representative told me my best option was to upgrade to the next higher plan and pay the difference rather than getting charged for the overage minutes. I did exactly that.
On my February bill, I was charged the overage minutes. While on vacation, I called Verizon again and a representative told me I was right in what I was told by the other representative. She filed a request to have the charges removed, and it was later denied. I pleaded my case again and how the first representative told me to do exactly that. Once again, denied. I had to settle for a lousy 25% off the charges after talking them up from 10%.
I feel cheated and scammed after I was told what to do and later comes back and bites me. HELP!

I had the 1400 minute plan and upgraded to the 2000 minute plan. The bill clearly shows the 1400 min plan being taken off and charged 2000min plan from the beginning of the billing period.

My charger broke last night so i bought a new cable. it was charging for ten mins then has stopped and wont recharge? help :(

My charger broke last night. The cable had been playing up for a few days but it finally broke last night. The battery died about 9pm.
I got a new cable today which was faulty so i had to take that back and get a replacement.
After getting the replacement it charged for about 10mins when i tried to see if it would go on which it wouldnt. the charging symbol disappeared and now it wont charge at all.
Does anyone know how i can fix this?

Curve 9300 gets timer on screen for ten minutes at a time apps all deleted, everything closed. still....

Please help me, Im at my wits end and about to stomp on my blackberry. The last couple weeks everytime I push a button it gets the timer up. its faster to take the battery out at this point than wait for the timer. drives me nuts!
So I searched for fixes and all anyone says is to make sure all apps "close", Well I deleted all my apps and closed all the ones I cant delete.

Sometimes things just fail. OS Corruption. Hardware failure. Etc. etc. etc. All are possible. We can't truly diagnose here...all we can do is conduct various processes to hopefully deduce to a most likely root cause. IPhone 4 battery was good for a month and suddenly goes dead within 6 hours

I have been running my iPhone 4 (iOS 4.1) for a month without any problem.
Suddenly, two days ago (although I haven't changed anything) the battery goes dead in less than 6 hours...
When I touch the phone, I notice it's warm. I have checked if any app was abusing of the multitasking (by killing all running app in the multitask bar) or the location services (you can tell by the little compas icon next to the battery icon), but it didn't change anything.
I think the last thing I have done, is to purchase my first Multitask application called Avertino. I have since deinstalled it (since I believed it was the root cause of my issue), but no result.
None of my other apps are abusing of the Push Notifications. I am using Push Emails with my Exchange Server, but this hasn't change in years... So this can't be the issue...
Anyways... Something is running and draining my battery, but I don't know what... Reset and Restore hasn't help, but maybe you could?

Speharpre, I wanted to let you know I've figured out what was causing my battery problems, and it may be affecting you, too. I checked wifi, 3G and background apps, but none of these were causing the issue.
In the end, it's my Exchange accounts Push email that was draining the battery so quickly. With Push turned on, the battery drained between 10 and 12% per hour, but as soon as I switched the Push function off, the battery drain went down to about 1%.
All day I've been turning push on for an hour, then off for an hour, the back on for an hour, etc... and each time I switch it back on, I see exactly the same rapid drop in battery.
Still haven't figured out how to fix the problem. I'm going to try deleting the account from the phone and re-adding it, and will also call our server tech support to see if it could be an issue at their end. Either way, I'll let you know.

Playlist erased when new playlist was asked for

My grandson is having trouble with his itunes WINDOWS account and he like all children would not wait and he plugged in his iPod and was having trouble with it also and it asked if he wanted a new playlist and he said yes and it erased everything on his iPod .
Is there a way to retrive the songs or is using backup cd's (Ihope he listened to me to did a recent back up) the only way ??

A playlist is just a list of songs, which are in the library.
If he deleted the playlist, the songs are still in the library.

Has anyone else had a problem with the Artist search buttons search peramiters changing after Apples latest ipod update ? I synced my ipod touch recently and it came up with a message saying a new update was available for the ipod but might take an hour .

Last time I synced my ipod touch it ofered me an update for the pod that could take about an hour , I did it and now it doesnt search properly . When I used the Artist tab at the bottom of my ipod before it would find every single song on the ipod by that artist (ie it searched by TRACK Artist) . Now it only find the songs by any given artist that are on Albums by that Artist (ie it searches by ALBUM Artist) What that means is it wont find any song by any Artist on a Various Artist CD . HAS ANYNOE ELSE GOT THIS PROBLEM OR A SOLUTION?

My computer got 4 repairs, and another time is working bad, bad ,bad...
No logs, disks failures, 3 alimentation and 2 superdrives, display , motherboard, graphical Nvidia G 8000.
I think that the problem is of the enssamble, but I can´t work fine and äpple¨ don´t see the list of problems, I´m bored.

I would purchase an external USB enclosure for the HDD. With the HDD in the enclosure, install OSX and then mount in your MacBook. If you continue to have problems, it could be a faulty internal SATA cable.

Battery sporadically recharges even after a new battery was replaced for a macbook 13 inch 2009

The macbook battery won't charge sporadically, i replaced the battery but now fear it is the actual magnetic power interface to battery, I have tried different cords with simalr outcomes. Suggestions?

Hi. Sorry none of that worked. If I understand correctly. Your battery has run down and the mag safe is not charging, so it will not turn on. When you have the mag safe plugged in, do you see a green light showing on it? Did you clean the plug on the Macbook Pro? You can use a cotton tip dampened with alcohol to do this. You have tried other mag safe's and get the same results,right? You could have a failed dc in board. That is what the mag safe plugs into. It in turn plugs into the logic board.I had to fix a similar problem on a Ibook. It would run off the battery as long as charged, but not off the mag safe.

Mac Mini Connected to TV Causes Blank Pauses every ten minutes

I hope someone can help with a small but frustrating issue I'm having.
I have a Mac Mini (2011) hooked up to a new 1080p television. The mini goes via HDMI straight to the TV, no adapters. The mini is also connected to a regular computer monitor simultaneously, set to mirror.
Until this week, I had an identical setup with an older, smaller hd television, where the mini was connected to the TV with an HDMI -> DVI adapter and also to the same second monitor. The TV was off most of the time, I only turned it on to watch a movie off my hard drive or whatever.
Here's the problem: When the new TV is OFF, every ten minutes or so with the monitor goes blank and resets, as if someone unplugged the HDMI connection and then plugged it back in the quickly. While this happens the Mac is frozen for about 5 seconds. I can reproduce the same effect by actually unplugging the HDMI wire. It is also the same pause that happens when I change the monitor and TV displays from mirroring to non-mirroring (side-by-side).
This only happens when the TV is off. If the TV is on, there is no issue.
I'd like to be able to sit at my desk using the monitor without the TV screen on, as I was able to do with my older television. I never had this problem with that TV over many months.
Is there any kind of setting change that might help?
I'm guessing the TV being off causes the HDMI connection to be occasionally lost and then the MAC resumes/redetects the TV, triggering the display to reset, but I think it is odd that this only happens after the thing has been off for ten minutes (and then repeats regularly). I've fiddled with the power options and energy saving settings on the TV, none of them seem to have any effect. Is there anything I can do on the Mac side? The only other option I can think of is to actually unplug the TV when I'm not using it, but that would get old fast.
Any advice would be appreciated. I've tried turning off mirroring, turning the TV off while not having the HDMI input active at that moment, and turning off all power saving options on the TV. I expect this is more a "tv problem" than a Mac problem, but it can't hurt to ask.

I couldnt get it to work even though I tried disconnecting an connecting the modules again. When I replaced the 4gb modules with the ones that came with the computer it started working perfectly.
Does this mean that one of the modules might be damaged? I am going to try connecting one of the factory ram and one of the ones I bought to see which is the one that doesn't work and see if I can replace it.

So after another forty minute call - insisted that the call was escalated - got a manager who understood what I was telling them and was aware of the technical situation. Put me on hold and then deleted the BToneID (I found out by the email that I received whilst on hold)without warning me, then after being on hold for ten minutes the line went disconnected.
Created new BToneID and am now able to see bill and check calling charges.
Waiting to see how long I am able to access this account before BT "improves" the website yet again.
Seriously unimpressed with the way BT have dealt with this issue.

WLS domain creation errors using new release (v5)

I'm running into errors in Step 5 of the beta install. I've completely uninstalled the previous version of everything (including RCU drop/create) and done a clean install using the files on the beta site after the announcement of the new release was made this morning.
It seems that the version string entries in "schema_version_registry" created by RCU differ. The "User Messaging", "OWSM MDS" and "SOA MDS" schemas all get created with version string "11.1.1.2.0" but "BAM" and "SOA Infrastructure" schemas are created with version "11.1.1.3.0". The WLS domain creation utility runs queries for ALL schemas having version "11.1.1.2.0", so the BAM and SOA Infrastructure schemas fail the test.
Should I manually edit the version strings in schema_version_registry so they all match 11.1.1.2.0 or will this cause problems elsewhere?
Here are the failing queries that the "Test Component Schema" screen is running for the WLS Domain creation step:
SQL Test=select 1 from schema_version_registry where owner=(select user from dual) and mr_type='BAM' and version='11.1.1.2.0'
SQL Test=select 1 from schema_version_registry where owner=(select user from dual) and mr_type='SOAINFRA' and version='11.1.1.2.0'

OK, I cleaned out all the old files downloaded fresh and did a complete re-install - now I'm getting an error about a missing file.
1. Installed WLS

I checked and that file does not exist on the filesystem. There's a commenv.template file (a *nix shell script), but no commonenv.bat.template. There are other .bat.template files in that directory, but not commonenv

GB froze during recording for 45 minutes, but is my recording somewhere

Hi there,
I was recording for 45 minutes and then noticed that GB was no longer responding to my mouse movements and the wait-wheel was turning without end. Afraid that I was going to miss the remainder of the event I was recording, I tried a force quit and reopened the program and started a new project and a new recording. At the end, I discovered that GB had saved a large file under the project that had froze. Later, when I opened that file, it turned out to contain another copy of a different project that I was editing earlier in the day. Is the recording that I was making while GB froze in no way retrievable?

Are "New Releases" really the newest?

I am learning more about Apple TV but one thing I don't get is if I can rent the Newest releases the day they come out(which is every Tuesday where i live). I want to be able to rent movies like I could at Blockbuster. I am looking at the movie store in iTunes and only see movies that are weeks and months old already as "new releases". So what's the deal? Thanks.

Yeah, i gathered the same thing for the keynote... It sounds like by the end of February they are hoping to have new releases on the day they release.... again, i am just guessing this but thats what i gathered...
I hope they keep a good library for rental though, because this is the sole reason i purchased an appletv... movie rentals only.. ehh, if it fails netflix has their box coming at the end of 08, or i can just break down and get Tivo which cost like 12/month but i can rent movies from amazon for $2.50 on my tivo....
I have faith in Apple though, thats why im going to be an early adopter of this itunes rental.. If amazon can have new releases on tuesday for tivo, then i am sure once apple gets their service up they will be able too also... even if they don't, appletv still replaces dish networks crappy pay-per-view so i think im going to be happy with my appletv purchase for years to come
