New report with Painter/Writer

Need some reminder, since was using Painter/Writer long time ago...
Standard project reports have an hierarchy window for navigation on the left hand side.
Instead of that navigation I would like to have a project id listed in the first column with one line per project.
Something like:
Project 1   150 EUR
Project 2   10 EUR
Project N   900 EUR
And the range of projects to be part of general selection. Which library would you also recommend to use?

hierarchy reports output type should be classic drilldown not in graphical reports. with this instead of navigation you can view as desired.

Creating a new report with VS2010 freezes

Hello,
I repost my first issue 'cos Don Asked me to attach to a thread but he closed it and there's no answer:
I've just downloaded the release of CR for VS2010 and installed it correctly.
But when i try to create a new report in a new solution (i use emty project ) and then try to add with the database expert databases it freeze the vs2010 with no timeout and no error message.
I saw in te forums that it's a recuring question so i tried to build a Virtual machine with win7 x64 and VS2010 and install CR on this fresh installation and it works !
I'm wondering if there is any relation with the way my developpement machine was installed:
Installed VS2010
Installed VS2008
Installed CR for VS 2008 sp1
then Installed CR for VS 2010
Also when i try to make a new project with the Crystal Reports Project Template there's a reference missing in the project. Even if i correct the mis-reference the project hangs on the database expert ...
Could you investigate ? i don't want to reinstall my dev computer and i need the CR2008 just time to upgrade the Projects to VS 2010...
And i would like to attach to this Thread the extract of Process Monitor but i don't know how

An update on SxS, I jumped the gun a little warning about the posts various people are having... We are still looking at all of them and the build team are doing more testing with the info from forums. We are not convinced it is a side by side problem but more of a dependency and possibly a VS project update methodology but at this time we don't know for sure.... We and QA are building various platforms and are trying to duplicate all of the reported issues. So far they have not been able to but continuing to test...
The only known potential issue so far is the GUID ID for crqe.dll but there are ways around it, order of install and unregistering the dll and then regsitering it back in. Various options and ways around it and they are based on the same code so it should not be a problem.
Please be patience while we research the various upgrade issues.

Add new report with a checkbox form

I’m trying to create a list with check boxes to add “contacts to a event”.
I have my table contacts and events, when I create a event I should invite my contacts. I want to create a list with all my contacts with a checkbox option and populate a new table with all the assistance.
I’m searching but I can’t find info.

You can create a checkbox in your list with APEX_ITEM.CHECKBOX. There are quite a few examples to be found when you google, e.g.

One time I just created a default tabular form with DELETE functionality, so the checkboxes were already in place. I just created another process instead of the normal MRU process. Went pretty well actually.

Create New Report with aggregation at the bottom

We want to create a new report on Opportunity.
Requirement includes having filters on Sales Stages and Classification and the columns being - Opportunity Name | Sales Stage | Classification 1|Revenue|
How should we aggregate the same at the bottom when we apply the filters.

Aggregate on what basis.
Do you want to aggregate on Sales Stage ? You may want to consider Pivot but cannot help you unless you make it clear what you are doing

Compare an old report with the new one

Hi,
i have saved a report in Answers. Then in my cube data are changed. In Answers i re-submit request and save new report with new data. Now I would compare two reports. But when i open old report, data shown are new. So I have two identical reports. How can I compare an old report with the new one? Thanks

ok then why don't you create two distinct reports but each with different filter value on the time column.
so that one report will give you old results. another report will give you new results.

Report with Stock type against a material

Hi All,
We are creating a new report with the logic of MB5B (with exclusion of Material Movement from selection screen) and output will have fields from MB52 report (escpecially the stock type split data with qty & valuation amount along with other columns from differnet tables).
The requirement of getting the stock type data (unrestricted, restricted, Blocked, QI) is for one particular date from this new report, as no date range selection will be provided on selection screen.
How can we get stock type data for that particular date.
Is there any indicator based on which mapping can be done for the stock types.
Any inputs on this line is really appreciated at the earliest.

Reports with wrong Server details (using ODBC name instead of server name)

When I save a report either in Crystal Reports 11 (File save as, Enterprise u2013 Central Management Server) or Central Manager Console, Objects New Object I get an error.
On looking at the database all reports I am adding or saving are automatically taking the wrong server details, and it is a greyed out field, so I cannot edit it. I presumed it is getting this information from my ODBC settings, but appears to be using the ODBC name/description as the server name (The Database and usernames are correct). This is happening on every report!
Any ideas what I am doing wrong? How I can save or add new reports with the correct details?
Not sure if this will help, but the error message is:- Failed to open the connection. D:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\Data\procSched\wdcsql1.reportjobserver\~tmp117852b044ee296.rpt

No, Crystal Reports in not installed on the server, and the ODBC settings are not setup on the server. However I did add the correct ODBC settings on the server but this has made no difference.
So do I need to setup all the ODBC settings in advance of anyone saving a report (I will need to try and find obtain them all)?
Should the server also have a version of Crystal Reports on it?
One report is working but it was added by the guy that installed it, and this report is using the same database as all the reports that I have added, and should be the same ODBC settings.
The server (server username) does not have access to the original location of the reports, so it cannot run the reports - however when I save them to the server via enterprise or the import tool, does a version of the report get saved on the server? If so can you point me in the direction of them, so I can try and run them via the server?

Error when creating a Report with Form component

I am trying to create a new report with form component but when I try to choose the Table/View name I get a web error "404 web not found". I know for a fact that the list is working because I see the list when I create a "simple form". Is this a bug or i need to do something to get it working? thanks

It is a bug that has been identified and will be corrected in an HTML DB patch. There is nothing you can do to correct it.
This bug is specific to Internet Explorer and utf-8 encoding. It is not a bug with IE, it is a bug with how we handle this for IE.

Report with a break above and labels

We want to create a Report with a break above and labels. There are examples for each of these, but I do not see an example of both in the same Report. Hopefully this is possible?? What can you tell us?

If the columns are null, and I add values, they save. But then when I go back and update the record, but different columns, it nulls out the two I am talking about. I am wondering if a trigger is out there someplace that is causing them to get nulled out.

Report with a form not showing all form data?

Hello,
I have an application that is using a report with a form, and when I click EDIT on the report column, it takes me to the form page which should be populated with all the data from the previous report row.
I have not modifed anthing from either page -- but (2) fields in particular (float) that I know have data is not getting populated. They are of the text field type and the row fetch is done automatically. What could be causing this? If I check the table I know there is data for those fields.

Create new report

Hi everybody, I need to create a new report with a format very similar to "Inventory(Stock) in Warehouse Report".
I created a query in Query Generator that recovers the data that I need.
However, I need for the report to insert a title with the name of each warehouse ( just like the one in Inventory(Stock) in Warehouse Report) and include the totals for each warehouse and the Grand total ( also like Inventory(Stock) in Warehouse Report).
Any ideas in how can I achieve this?

ARD 3.3.2 does not create new reports

Hi all!
I am running ARD 3.3.2 on my MacBook Pro with Mac OS X 10.6.2
All my clients are on ARD client 3.3.2 as well but run Mac OS X 10.4.11 or 10.5.8.
Since I've updated to 10.6 and ARD 3.3.2 i am not able to create new reports (with rebuild with new data check box activated) on any client system. ARD starts the task and stays in the status "waiting for report data" (which is translated from its German version and might be called a little different in English).
And there it stays--- for a very long time until I get an task failed message.
All clients are in the same network segment as I am. I am able to observe and control all machines as well as copy and install software onto them. Clients have no firewall activated.
All clients have one Admin User installed , which is allowed to make full use of ARD functions. When adding the clients to my ARD Computer list I used this Admin User credentials.
Does the new ARD doesn't support older OSses any more??
Any ideas , how am I able to solve this and get reports going again???

I manage 400+ computers at a University using ARD 3.3.2 with Client 3.3.2. I can not generate reports and haven't been able ever since Snow Leopard came out. We also have a developer account and there is no upgrade or version 4 in the works. Perhaps Apple's focus on giving iChat remote access has made them forget about Apple Remote Desktop, which is a shame because it's such a wonderful product.
We've been looking at Net School Support [http://www.netsupportschool.com/audio.asp] It's not as robust, but I can't continue spending money on a product/company that doesn't care about it's customer's problems. In general Apple's enterprise software efforts seem to be losing functionality instead of improving. OS 9 ARD had audio chat features, non-freezing screen lock and of course, working report generation.

Crystal 2008 Hangs When Opening Report With Geographic Map

Greetings - CR just hangs when I open a report that has an existing geographic map or if I create a new report with a geographic map. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, and made sure the updates were applied. Searched the forums but haven't found anything to help.
Any suggestions?

Usual next steps, What OS are you using and did you install CR with local Administrator rights?
Are you on a domain where your IT department have modified your profile, you may be in the Admin group but they can alter the default settings. Check to confirm.
Try Service Pack 2 from the download page, although I have not heard of anyone else having this specific problem.
Check the System and application Event logs to see if anything failed, permissions, access etc.
Is there anyone else in your company having the same problem? You could try downloading Process Monitor from www.sysinternals.com and filter on crw32.exe and watch when you try to access the maps.

Error GR493 report painter/writer with special ledger

I am trying to create a report painter using a table of a special ledger. The table is the one for 'real item'. The following error appears:
'Table ZIFRSA is not installed in Report Writer.
Message no. GR493
Diagnosis
The Report Writer can only report on tables if the attributes of these tables that are relevant for reporting are defined in control tables. This is not the case for table ZIFRSA.'
We are not using intercompany transaction. My question is if it possible to make report in report painter/writer with this table.
I can make report with the total table of special ledger, but not with the one for real item.

I guess the tables created through SPL should look as follows:
1. ZIFRST - Totals Table
2. ZIFRSA - Actual Line Item Table ( I guess this is what you are calling real item)
3. ZIFRSP - Plan Line Items Table
Bear in mind that, the report is not created off table ZIFRSA but rather ZIFRST. Please create the report writer or report painter using table ZIFRST.
If the above suggestion did not work, then check the solution provided in OSS note 3761.

I want to insert a new element in my new report painter created by GRR2. I took a standard report and I copied the report. I know how to insert a new element.
The problem is I want to choose the value of a field in PROJ table for create a formula in my report. The users insert a value in user-define fields of CJ20n, and i would like to choose this value for create a formula in my report.
Can I create a formula to take this value from the table PROJ? If I need to create a characteristic for choose this field, as I can create?
