New Role in PFCG only for customizing (display mode)

Hi,
Some users asked me to have a specific role to display all customizing settings (form transaction SPRO). This new role should allow users only to display customizing settings without changing them.
I tried to copy and manipoulate standard role S_BC_CUS_CUSTOMIZER. In my new role Z_S_BC_CUS_CUSTOMIZER (copy of the standard) I have setted as "display" entries with field "ACTVT".
However it doesn't work as I like because user with that role can still modify customizing.
Can any of you help me please? thanks.

Those role doesn't exit in my system, anyway you should create a new role where all authorization groups have the value 3 for the activity.
So you should assign to the object S_TABU_DIS only 3 as action allowed.
Anyway you should check all roles assigned to your user, because perhaps if a user has two roles where it can changed the data for the first role and it can't do it for the second one, the result will be the user can change the data.

Try out this.
If your query is something like this
Select col1,col2,col3,col4 from tab1
now you have pulled col1,col2,col3 from the group and have formed the group left.
Select Col1,col1 col1_1,....
Select each column twice from the select stmt.

Table Maintanance Generator is used to create/change/delete table entries in a particular table.
In the production system, end-users will not be having access to transaction codes like SE11 and SE16. Developers will not be having access to many transaction codes including the above two.To view the contents of the database table, we will use SE16n in Production system. All these authorizations will be maintained by BASIS team, by creating access profiles.So in order to edit or create the contents of a database table, we should go for table maintenance generator. In real time, authorizations will be maintained in production system.
The second reason is, we can edit or create multiple entries at a time, using tablemaintenance generator.
Apart from that we have options like 'Enter conditions' in table maintenance screen SM30.

Acro 9 Pro/CS3 new install - "action valid only for product that is currently installed"

Hi,
I successfully installed CS3 on XP/SP3 followed by the Acrobat 9 Pro upgrade to 8 that was included. The install seemed fine, and I activated Acrobat 9. However, when I click the start menu icon created by the installation, the got the message "action valid only for product that is currently installed". In addition, the standard IE integration is not present. Starting a repair from the Acro Help menu doesn't seem to do anything, and the product does not appear in Control Panel Add & Remove programs.
I can start Acr 9 by navigating to the .exe in Program Files, but really need to fix the install.
Has anyone seen this and fixed it?
Also, if I (hopefully not) have to manually uninstall and reinstall, does anyone know
- how to manually uninstall Acro 9
- if uninstall destroys the activation I've already completed?

CS3 comes with AA8, not AA9. I don't know where you got AA9, unless it was a trial. As far as I know, there was no packaged upgrade to AA9 with CS3. Others can confirm that I guess. You probably need to uninstall AA9 and reinstall AA8. Then update AA8 to the current version, AA8.1.4. Bill

SB1983, by extended display do you mean mirror? All MBP since early 2011 support it if they are running OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. The resolution will depend on your Apple TV (2 Gen is 720 and 3rd Gen 1080) and wifi, it will lose some quality but I find it minimal. It does also mirror the sound.

Preview Thumbnails on New Tab page empty only for certain URLs

When I open a new tab, there are three certain preview thumbnails which are always empty, and there is no way I can make them show up again. They did work in the beginning, but at some time the three previews vanished and never came back.
I have already tried to empy the cache and reload the sites as suggested here, but the thumbs are still empty. It's always the same three URLs where this happens. I have also cleared the history, opened the sites again and dragged the items from the history menu into a thumbnail - same result.

The pages may be send by the server with a no-cache or no-store header preventing Firefox to store that pages in the cache.<br />
Firefox will only generate thumbnails if the page is in the cache.

The thumbnails on the about:newtab page are generated from the cache, so if the page is not in the cache or otherwise can't or won't (secure pages) be rendered as a PNG image then you will get an empty box.
*Do not use Clear Recent History to clear data like the cache and the history when you close Firefox
If there is no history then you get an about:newtab page with empty boxes (no URLs).

Join-View only for temporary Display Purposes

I have to search for different Vendors. To have all necessary information available I want to joint tables LFB1 (Vendor Master (Company Code)) and LFA1 (Vendor Master (General Section)). Is there an option to build a view, which is only temporary available, hence without creating a repository object.

Create a query based on quick viewer.
Table join
Then join the relevant table.
Attach them with the foreign key. (ensure your joinings are correct, otherwise, you cannot see any data)

Create New Document - Suddenly Lost Ability for Customer Option

Hi -
All of the sudden I can't create a customer profile when creating a new document. Earlier I selecting the print profile. I tried opening a new document and creating a custome profile but that option is grayed out.
Not sure if this is related but I created custome brushes yesterday but they don't appear today. Is that because of the profile that the brushes were created with and without that profile I won't see the brushes?

I guess I still don't get it. I create a new brush in print profile but when I open a new doucment with that profile that brush isn't there.

I would use the module "https everywhere" wich is an extension that encrypts communications with many major website. The thing is that i dont want to use it all the time.
The way to use it perfectly would be to activate it only when i'm in private mode (wich makes sense IMO).
Is there any way to install / configure it in order it's effective in the private mode but not in the normal one ?
That would be a great feature but i found nothing about it.

Help! The new version of Firefox only prints in landscape mode and I cannot figure out how to change this default option. I need the default to be portrait.

Once that is changed Firefox should hold that setting until the next time you print something thru Firefox, unless you would be using a different printer.

GET_P Method for Link in table - only in display mode

i created an assignmentblock to display a ztable (Simple Object).
One column in the table is homepage.
For this attribute i added some coding to the GET_P_Method to have a link.
The link works fine - but i have this link now not only in display mode but also in edit mode for the table.
As a sideeffect this column is now longer editable.
How should i change my GET_P coding so that the link is only there in display mode. In edit mode the field should be editable (no link).

Hello Manfred,
I do not know about your system... but the usual GET_P-methods do have an importing parameter IV_DISPLAY_MODE. This tells you if you are in display or edit mode.
Check method CL_BT115QH__DETAILS_CN00->GET_P_ORDER_REASON.
Or even more general: GETP_XYZ in your context node class.
The part with the IF statement should be trivial.

go to subroutines select userexit_field_modification.
Write the code as below inside it.
As you have to do this for VF01 you need add a sy-tcode check before it.

Create a new role in SRM 7.0 and Portal

Dear All,
We are using SRM 7.0 with Portal. We created a maintenance table in SRM. This table must be maintained from time to time by the key users. But they want to maintain in from Portal, not from SRM.
When i was using SRM 4.0, it was simple, i was creating a new role from PFCG and assigning the table to the role. Then i was be able to see and maintain it from web. But it is not that simple now in Portal side. Because i created a new role and assigned the table to that role in SRM, but nothing happened in Portal side.
Can anyone advise me the steps ? How am i going to show and maintain this table in portal ?

Hello Raj,
Instead of recreating the roles, you can use the Migration Templates available. These are excel templates which can be downloaded from the tenant . Under the Activity List in Implementation Projects, you could go to Integrate and Extend and choose Migration of Business Roles to upload this excel. This is a step by step mechanism which will allow you to migrate your business roles instead of recreating each role manually. Pre-requisite of this is that you need to make sure you have scoped the system properly allowing for this.
