please help what to do to have previos safari.this is after update before yesterday and i hate it .even when i wabt use a fingers on pad to make sites bogger it going tragedy.where is my history like before ,was beautiful all things are crap now .i want have that safari what i had before !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

osx 10.7.4 safari 6.0 When I add a new bookmark to the "bookmarks menu" it is added somewhere in the middle instead of at the end of the list. This just started a few days ago after an update. Has anyone else noticed this?.
Just for those who are interested, this is what cleared the "bookmark menu" trbl I had.
Open System Preferences > iCloud
Deselect the box next to Bookmarks, then reselect it.
Quit and relaunch Safari. Try a bookmark again. -
Safari on my iPad 4 opens the latest page used rather than to my home page.

Huge problem after Safari 3.1 and new security update
I just installed the new SAFARI 3.1 as well as the security update and I am SCREWED! (unless a genius here can help out).
After the install and restart my desktop picture is sligthy blown up but worse -it essentially floats when I move the mouse. As such, it can obscure the top of the image which "hides" the Apple pull down options AND I canot get the dock to reveal at the bottom of the frame. In a word - screwed.
Any thoughts?

Theolooks like I figured this out on my own - it was the zoom function that had somehow been activated.
It all seems to be working fine now once I set that -
New Macbook Pro, Safari crashing after update, every time
I am a fairly new Mac user. I have had my macbook pro for 4 months. Three days ago, I got a window popping up that asked if I would like to update now. I hit ok, went back to making dinner. A few hours later, i opened safari. It opened to yahoo, i then went to mail, and then hit my facebook bookmark. Safari froze. I got the circle thing and it sat like that for 5 minutes. I finally forced quit and hit the report problem. It has done the same thing now for 3 days, only now it freezes the minute i hit any any link at all, immediately!!! I thought it may have something to do with the new Lion thing (i am really a novice) so I bought that and installed it yesterday. Still same thing. Firefox works fine. I am using that now. Nothing else seems affected other than Safari. The only add on i have ever put on safari that i know about is lastpass. i can't even get to my safari pref now b/c it locks up before i can hit it. I even tried going to apple and redownloading safari. I don't know how to uninstall and reininstall. Can anyone help?

Safari will not open after new update??? Please help =(
Was prompted Safari 4.1 update was ready, I clicked update, restarted my iMac. Then attempted to open up Safari from dock but no window opened. I also clicked open new window, but nothing happened. I quit Safari, but it gave me a message that I had 2 tabs open. There were no windows nor tabs at all. Then Safari "unexpectedly quit"....

I just ran the updates for my MacBook and after wards Safari will not open (I am using Firefox). The problem report said it might be AcidSeach plug in. I have no idea what that is. Can someone help? Thanks!

Your problem is caused by AcidSearch, which is incompatible with 10.5.8 (or, at least the version you're
running isn't compatible). You need to remove it from this folder:
/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/
Then try restarting Safari to see if the crashing continues. If not, then your problem is solved. -
Safari will NOT open after new update!! :(
After updating safari, it won't open. I see this is happening to other users in the forum as well. Is there anyway that Apple can fix this bug by removing the most recent update?
you can uninstall safari 5, and go back to safari 4. it still keeps everything like bookmarks history and stuff though. This is what I did, because I had a download of safari 4 on my computer. If you dont have a download, just reply asking for a download link and Ill give you one.

After new OS update Safari doesn't recognize Flash Player.
After updating to OS 10.9.4, Safari says "No Flash Player detected" when I try to run several of my web based programs even though I have no problem with the same web based programs when using Firefox. Additionally, this issue only exists when using the administrator account. There is no problem when using my other account set up for my students.
If you can't install or update Flash, follow these instructions.
If you have installed the latest version of Flash, please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 8. Back up all data before making any changes.
Step 1
You might have to log out or restart the computer before a Flash update takes effect.
Step 2
From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data...
and confirm. Close the window. Then select
▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.
Step 3
If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, log in to YouTube and load this page. You may see a link with the text "Leave the HTML5 Trial." If so, click that link.

a. If you get a warning of a "blocked" or "outdated" plug-in, then select the Security tab in the Safari preferences window. In the list of plugins on the left, there should be one—and only one—entry for "Adobe Flash Player," showing the same version number that you installed. Select that entry. If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked
Allow (or Enable) plug-ins
Then click the button marked
Manage Website Settings...
if present and make sure that the website is not blocked for Flash.

The original iPad 1 cannot be upgraded past iOS 5.1.1.
Hardware limitations. Slower CPU, insufficient built-in RAM.
iPad 1 RAM is only 256 MBs of RAM.
Newer iPads have faster CPUs and 512 MBs of RAM or better, now.

Safari locks up after new Java update
I along with others in my office have noticed that since the Java update (Sept. 19) , I believe it was 48 megs or so, that Safari will lock after surfing on the Web for 20 to 30 minutes.
After it locks, you cannot force quit. Eventually, OS X locks and you have to turn off the Mac and restart.
We've repaired disk permissions.
Anyone else experienced this problem or have ideas on how to correct?Below is a message regarding some software that has improved the problem. Still happens, but much less now.

Hello. Had the same issues since the latest Java upgrade. The fix from apple will address it for sure, however, in the meantime check out www.macfixit.com and www.dshadow.com for commentary and a daemon utility called unlockupd that works great for now. I went to the Apple Store and talked to them there and they felt this temporary fix is better than doing anything on the terminal commands that are out there that may invalidate a later apple fix.
I had problems with both Mail and Safari freezes and the unlockupd worked great. Hope this helps. -
After new Yosemite update, the search results/suggestions bar is faded in Safari. Help.
It remains faded even after I select something. What is causing this and how do I fix it? I tried quitting Safari and restarting my computer.
If it the same is the Safe Mode, try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.

What things have you tried so far? Have you tried resetting Safari from the Safari menu option? Have you tried quitting Safari, trashing the prefs file (shown below) and then restarting?

If neither of those help, one quick test you can do to help narrow down things is to try Safari in another user account. This will help us to know whether your problem is local to your account or system wide. If you don't have another account you can use System Preferences -> Accounts -> \[+\] to create a test one (and \[-\] to remove it if needed) -
Safari 5 doesn't open new pages after website button selected
Hi. I am unable to load some websites after selecting some buttons on popular sites including PayPal and www.ryanair.com.
Actually I am unable to book a flight ticket and I had to visit my friend to do so on his computer. The same happens when I try to log in into PayPal account. After hitting *"Log In"* button there is NO action with Safari 5. No new Tab, no new window, no progress bar... Nothing.
The same happens with my MacBook. At ryanair.com after selecting the flight I am unable to proceed by hitting the button *"Select and Continue"*. Button *"New Search"* works normally.
Exactly the same situation on both Macs. Latest Safari 5 update. Both websites works under Firefox on both computers.
Does anybody has any idea what might be the problem?

If you are connecting to the internet using a cable modem, try disconnecting for 5 minutes, then reconnect and relaunch Safari.
See if you have any Safari third party plugins... Safari: Add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
If the problem isn't third party plugins, install the v10.6.3 Combo Update It's ok to do this even if you are already running v10.6.3.
Then repair disk permissions (again).
Also, have you tried using a different browser??? Always good to have a back up.
Logging into another user account, try Safari there. If you have the same problems there, then it's a system wide glitch, not just isolated to your user account. -
When there is an update to a newer version of a browser like this update to Safari 5.1.4, is there an article that goes over the best way to update to a newer version of a browser that one knows of? Is it best to close all apps, install the update, turn the computer off, turn it on and hold down the shift key until the gear and progress bar are showing, when this is finished, do a restart of the computer. I hav always wondered the best way (if there is a best way) to update to a newer version of a browser so you avoid potential problems. Is there a Support Article that goes over installing and updating to a newer version of one's browser, in this case Safari?

Repairing permissions is important, and should always be carried out both before and after any software installation or update.
Go to Disk Utility (this is in your Utilities Folder in your Application folder) and click on the icon of your hard disk (not the one with all the numbers).
In First Aid, click on Repair Permissions.
This only takes a minute or two in Tiger, but much longer in Later versions of OS X.

If you were having any serious problems with your Mac you might as well complete the exercise by repairing your hard disk as well. You cannot do this from the same start-up disk. Reboot from your install disk (holding down the C key). Once it opens, select your language, and then go to Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Select your hard disk as before and click Repair.
Once that is complete reboot again from your usual start-up disk.

Corrupted file in the applications folder and i cant get in
