New Satellite C55-A-1UE trying to set it up for 1st time

Just got my new Toshiba Satellite C55-A-1UE turned it on for 1st time and went through the internet set up, account set up etc. Then it said it was loading software and please wait do not turn off.
I have been sat for over 30 minutes waiting and all I have is a circle going round n round like its loading. Seems an awful long time for it to set up - can anyone advise?

Well, during the first configuration, the Toshiba image has to be setup and all necessary updates has to be downloaded and installed. This takes time.
However, it could be possible that the system would not response anymore and in such case you should simply power OFF the notebook and should reboot it again.
Usually the system would start the configuration from the point of interruption

Do you need to enter it? Most Wifi networks will auto-configure simply by tapping its name in Settings > WiFi.

I'm trying to organize LR4 lib for 1st time

I've installed LR4. At installation, it created a Lightroom folder in my Pictures folder (I have an iMac). Also inside the Pictures folder is a folder I created called Mike's LR Photos (I'm trying to follow Scott Kelby's book). Within my "Mike's LR Photos" folder I created a Practice subfolder and I've been importing pics from my camera into it. LR seems to have automatically created a 2013 Folder inside my Practice folder and within the 2013 Folder there is a separate (created by LR) folder for each of the 5 days I've been taking and importing pictures. Everything shows up as it should in LR so at least LR knows where my photos are. My question has to do with 2 files that LR created inside the LR folder:
Lightroom4 catalog preview.lrdata
Lightroom4 catalog.lrcat
Should I leave those two files where they are in the LR folder? There are no other files or photos in that folder. Or should I "drag" them into my Mike's LR Photos folder where I want to store all my pictures? I'm confusing myself here so you're probably really confused! Bottom line is I have two and only two folders in my iMac Picture folder: one is Lightroom and the other is Mike's LR Photos. Soon I will want to create a backup on an external hard drive but I want to make sure that my LR library is organized as it should be first. I've read numerous warnings about separating the catalog and lrdata files from the photos.

The two files that you are talking about are the Lr catalog (Lightroom4 catalog.lrcat) and the previews folder (Lightroom4 catalog preview.lrdata).
In Lr the "catalog" is a database file where everything you do in Lr is saved - automatically and instantly, without the need to hit <save> ever.
All your edits are saved in the catalog. Thus this file is of utmost importance for the working of Lr. Without it you would loose everything you did in Lr. You would still have your image files but they would be in the state they were when you imported them in Lr.
Therefore the catalog file, the < .lrcat>-file needs to be safeguarded and backed up just as you do with your image files.
The other file you are asking about - actually a folder - is the previews folder, the < .lrdata>-folder. This contains your previews, and it must be located right next to the catalog file. So you should not separate the two. Safeguarding the previews folder is not as important, since Lr will create new previews "on the fly" whenever it finds no previews.
The catalog-file and the previews folder should be kept separate from photos and not be put in a folder that contains photos. In fact I would suggest that you take both and move them to a new folder that you create anywhere on your hard drive, but not in the <My Pictures> folder(Catalog and photos do not have to be on the same physical drive). Give the folder a descriptive name, like "Lightroom Catalog and Previews" and put nothing else in it, except the two files. The reason for this is that the <My Pictures> folder gets very crowded with photos and fills up fast. In an emergency you must be able to locate your catalog file, so it's important that you know where it is.
You move the two - catalog-file and previews folder - in Mac Finder , while Lr is closed, and after the move you double-click the catalog-file and Lr will open with it.

I got some help from an apple assistant on the phone. It is kind of round about way to get in.
Here is what he said to do and it is working for me...
a. on the device that is asking you for the security questions go to "settings", > "store" >
      tap the Apple ID and choose view"Apple ID" and sign in.
b. Tap on payment information and add a credit/debit card of your preference then select
      "done", in the upper right corner
c. sign out and back into iTunes on the device by going to "settings"> "store" > tap the
      Apple ID and choose "sign-out" > Tap "sign -in" > "use existing Apple ID" and you
      should be asked to verify your security code for the credit /debit card and NOT the
      security questions.
d. At this time you can remove the card by going back in to edit the payment info and
      selecting "none" as the card type then saving the changes by selecting "done". You
      should now be able to use your iTunes store credit without answering the security
      questions.
It's working for me ...I just have to put in my 3 digit security pin from the credit card I am using.

Yes, but all the data from your sisters PC will be erased and replaced with yours, which is probably what you want anyhow.

Hi, Thanks for that further bug description In Your Last Message That Describes The Problem I Am Having perfectly and is exactly the same for me.
unfortunately that fix for my camera Powershot G6 does not work or apply as the view pictures switch is different on G6 is not usable during download as once you plug in DC/USB cable it turns off, and makes no diff and problem still exists exactly as you just described.

it has been 17 days since apple promised to get back to me within 3-5 days hopefully with a solution, but I have still not heard from them.
They blew me off, i guess, probably i will have to wait for new Yosemite OS update, which they pre-warned me could take as much as 6 months.
I cannot believe apple released this new update with such major bug issues for camera downloads and that horrible "Photos" pgm which has all sorts of downgrades in features, usefulness and new bugs compared to iPhotos which I just finally got used to and was much better software.
I am starting to lose faith in Apple and I am getting that Microsoft "FEEL" like I used to have when I was a PC user, which was why I originally switched to Apple computers in first place.
Oh well got my fingers crossed here.

DNS server is that translation from a website address in words meaningful to us.. eg www.google.com to an actual number that computers can use. Without DNS the internet may work but you would have to know the ipv4 address of every site you want to visit.

We cannot really help fix the problem without knowing a good deal more info.

What modem do you have.. make and model may be a help?
Who is your ISP.. may be helpful??
Is the modem also a router?
How is the TC connected to the modem?
How is the computer connected to the TC?
A primary example of where you get this problem is a pure cable modem.. ie has no router in it.
When you replace an existing computer or router that is plugged into it, with the TC, requires that you power cycle the modem. In some cases the off time is 5min.. for a lot of services, it needs to be off 20min.. and for some even longer.. maybe an hour or overnight.
But it is not worth getting into specifics without knowing the rest of the system.

Let's try this first. Press the wireless button on the front of the printer and execute a "Restore Defaults".
Next, restart the router by pulling its power plug momentarily, then try the WPS procedure again. If that does not work, contact your ISP to see if the WPS button is functional.

I cant install the new version. Everytime i tried to process the program it asks me restart my laptop.

Run the Firefox program once as Administrator (right-click: Run as Administrator).<br />
If that doesn't help then do a clean reinstall.
Do a clean (re)install:
* Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
* http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
* Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
* Don't remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.
