ive recently fitted a new screen to my ipod 4th gen, and when ive gone to switch it back on the screen isnt lighting up, anyone know why

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem.
First I would take it apart and look for problems.
- Nextm take it to someone with more experience.
- Apple will not help

Awww man got a new replacement ipod but not working!!

So recently i got a replacement from a nice guy for free and it was new i believe. So i plug it into my computer today, and i noticed that the screen wasnt responding! Help me please! Does it ask for a passcode? It does not sound like a new iPod since a new one would show the iTunes icon with a USB plug. You have to first connected a new iPod to your computer and activate it.

External screen detected but not working on DisplayPort connection on X220

I'm running up to date Raring on my Thinkpad X220 and stumbled upon weird problem.
I can connect to an external 24 inch DELL U2312HM external screen using DisplayPort cable.
I tried the same connection at work, with similar, but larger screen - 27 inch DELL U2713HM using the same cable.
When I check >>Settings >> Displays the display is detected. However I'm looking at dark screen.. Bizarrely - when I hit the PrtScr - I can also see it correctly with Ubuntu walpaper o_O
The monitor is detected and works correctly when using [DisplayPort to DVI-D Adapter Cable (Single Link)] however the resolution on this setup is limited to 1920 x 1200 so I'd really like to take advantage of DVI since the laptop should support it.
How could I fix this issue?

According to the specs on Dell's web site, the U2713HM is a WQHD (2560×1440) resolution display and requires a DisplayPort 1.2 compliant signal. From looking at the PSREF documentation, this resolution is supported on the DisplayPort at a frequency of 60Hz. There is no mention of DisplayPort version, though.
Just to confirm, the DisplayPort cable you are using is DisplayPort at both ends and does not have an HDMI or DVI connector attached to the monitor, correct?

If you backup with iTunes and you restored from the backup and the data are gone, then there is no where to retrieve them from unless you have another backup that contains those data.
Launch iTunes on the computer and go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices. You will see a window with all of your backups listed in it.
If you see a recent backup that you are certain contains the data that you need, recover deleted data from iPhone backup.
If your note is gone from iCloud.com there is only a few ways to possibly recover it.
The first things I would check is a iCloud Backup, a iTunes Backup, or a 3rd party email that may have contained the note. To restore from a iCloud or iTunes backup follow this link. This article explains how to restore a device from either back up.
Note if you have backed up since the note went missing, you will not have the note on the backup. Make sure you do not back up if trying to restore from a back up as this will back up the content without the note.
To get to the "Set up assistant" on an iOS device, you must go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content and Settings. Once the phone restarts, you will be at the "Set up Assistant"

I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. And they backed up my old Iphone 4, but were not able to get anything to load back onto my new phone. So, I lost pretty much everything. But over time, some of my contacts have started showing up, although i am still missing over 800 of them.

Need to know your Mac model. If it's a PowerPC, the max OS is Leopard 10.5.x. If it's an Intel procesor, you can upgrade to Snow Leopard (for $29) & later to Lion.

Originally I thought it was the old Moutain Lion DVD drive issue (but have had the drive recently replaced by Apple), so I tried creating a new account, which worked.
In the old account I have reset SMU, Pram... but no change.

Android kitkat issue in loading swf file from device. URL found but not working

Starting in KitKat, Google requires that applications have permission to access files on the system. You must specifically add either the READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE or WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permissions in order to access files. Adding either one of those permissions should let you read/access files on the device. Prior to KitKat, you didnt have to have these permissions listed in the manifest to access files.

New Applications model DOES NOT work with StandAlone OSD media

If you are able to create StandAlone OSD media, the new Applications model DOES NOT work with it.
- The creation of the media will be successful
- The application installation itself will be successful
Yet after the application is installed, it shows the correct process it needs to complete based on the return code in AppEnforce log, but does not process that information back to the the TS Manager so it appears to attempt to download a policy which fails
causing the task sequence to error out..

It is using the application model, since it is not attached to the domain it is on a workgroup. But it is on standalone media and not during a build and capture sequence, it is during an OSD. But alot of the same puzzle pieces fit. Basically pointing to
the new applications model not working during standalone OSD when the MP is not available. i would say that not enough information is getting encapsulated into the Application when exported onto the StandAlone media.

After installing lion, my screen saver does not work

I installed lion, now my screen saver does not work. I have tried all the hot corners, nothing. Dashboard and mission control work fine but cannot start screen saver.
Any thoughts on what might be wrong.
