New Search/command F nothing shows up

When doing a command F for a new search.
Im unable to locate any files on the desktop or servers.
The window just says searching and nothing shows up.
Any help would be great.

Welcome to Apple discussions.
It should work the same - however, try going to the file menu and doing a find. Is the result the same using spotlight?
If nothing works, I would run repair disk from your software install DVD to see if you have directory problems. If that does not help, reindex your system:

I'd probably pass on getting the 2008 repaired, it will probably be prohibitiviely expensive. You can always take it back and get an estimate from your Apple Store or local AASP to get specifics. If the machine still runs but only has that one problem then just continue using it until it dies.

Moved library to new hard drive, now nothing shows in iTunes

I moved my library to a new internal hard drive, but the music does not show when I start up iTunes. I followed the instructions from the Apple website, so I don't know what to do. I can see the files on the new hard drive, so I know they are still around. I'm afraid to sync as I may lose everything. What do I do?

First - re-read all the instructions and figure out where you might have dropped a step. Below are three similar sites that explain the same process. One may help you diagnose what went wrong.
My guess is that you moved or corrupted your Library database file in the process. But without more information, I am just taking a shot in the dark.

Hi. My iPhoto library is 27gb however when I add it to iPhoto on my new MacBook Air, nothing shows up.

My iPhoto library went haywire last week on my old snow leopard White Macbook (07), and although the library is 27GB, nothing was showing in my iPhoto when opened.
I have yesterday bought a new MacBook Air (running Lion) and have moved my iPhoto library on an external harddrive across to my the Air, however when i try to have my iPhoto use this library (still 27GB), nothing shows up in program and it says zero photos.
Any ideas on how I can rectify this issue?

Do you have a backup? It sounds like your iPhoto Library database has become damaged and the cleanest way to resolve this would be to restore from your backup from a point in time before the issue started.

If you don't have a backup of the library before this issue occured then lets try rebuilding the library.
Open iPhoto while holding both the command and option keys on the keyboard.
Once you get the rebuild window below, put a check in each item listed in numberical order 1 at a time, clicking "Rebuild" after each one until the issue is resolved.

Tried that. Also tried SUPERAntiSpyware, ccleaner, HitmanPro. Removed anything that was reported. Problem persists.
Chrome is also affected. But couldn't find any alternative way of not having Ask.com loaded as did in Firefox.
Internet Explorer was initially affected. After the Ask.com search engine is removed that problem appears to have gone away.

Interestingly, yesterday afternoon the Chrome browner new tab no longer hijacked by Ask.com. The symptom was there in the morning and had gone away in the late afternoon. Nothing was done except a few days ago I blocked everything on that page. The problem with Firefox continue to persist I didn't do the same blocking on it. I am going to try the same and then use anti-spyware to clear away all cookies and see what happens.

I just purchased a new mac mini and would like to use my old dell monitor. I tried a HD to VGA adapter converter,it plugs in, but nothing shows on the monitor. Any suggestions? Thanks

What do you mean by "HD to VGA adapter converter"?
Do you mean have an HDMI to VGA adapter connected the the Mini's HDMI port?
Or maybe you plugged n the the included HDMI to DVI adapter and then connected a DVI to DVI adapter?
In either case that will not work since VGA is analog and the Mini's HDMI port is digital only.
You need to purchase a mini displayport to VGA adapter. It plugs into the Mini's Thunderbolt port.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
(You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device)

You can't. When you migrate user accounts, those settings will be used. That's the point of migrating, not to have to reset things Peruse Pondini's Setup New Mac guide for details.
If you want to revert to the original user settings, create an new admin user account. That'll use the default user setup.

Here's something I found out in the meantime, maybe this is interesting for somebody or maybe - problem's not totally solved - enough info for any of you to give me further advice.
When I start Logic Core Audio driver de-activated, I can open old songs. Then I save them in a new folder with all audio files and a new name. And I remove all EXS24 instruments as well as the Space Designer. I quit Logic, re-open with Core Audio activated and I can open the song.
Problem no.1: EXS24 instruments don't find the appropriate samples, but EXSMananger Pro did help me with this. Same problem with Space Designer, which doesn't find the impulse responses, connected to a certain preset.
Two questions, every idea would be great!
- Is there any way to teach Space Designer Presets where to look for impulse respones. I can load IR samples directly and create a new preset, but I can't use my old ones.
- Is it possible to install Logic from scratch over an existing version? Or how should I de-install everything connected with Logic and then install a fresh version from CD?

When i search a song on the iTunes store nothing shows up

when i search a song on the iunes store nothing shows up even sometimes the artist does not even show up. All i will get is the bar across the top with the labels of popularity, artist, time etc

* "Remove the Cookies" from sites that cause problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Water splashed my iPod 4th generation an worked initially, but now when it is plugged in it sounds like it is powering up but nothing shows on screen, do I need a new LCD screen?

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

When you have kernel panics, the pertinent information is in the panic report.
These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ System Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of reports. A panic report has a name that begins with "Kernel" and ends in ".panic". Select the most recent one. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a panic, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report.
