New Sequence at HD, automatically adjust resolution from previous sequence?

I imported video at full 1080 but edited together a sequence created before i adjusted the easy setup settings for full resolution. So it appears that although i imported the video at full 1080, i edited the clips at a smaller resolution. If i create a new sequence with 1080, is there a way i can just pull all the edits of my previous sequence and have them automatically adjust to 1080? thanks!

Copy and paste from one sequence to the other. Than use the remove attributes function to reset the clips in the new sequence back to their original condition.

Does it ask for the old device by name? How do you know it isn't restored? Have you completed setup and checked on the device?
Are you using the same iTunes account and Apple ID?
On your iTunes account, Open preferences, go to devices tab
Look in the box for a backup of your old device. Is there a backup?
If there is no backup, you have nothing to restore.

Adjust resolution from macbook pro

default is too small to read and most of the display is wasted. Adjusting it only works while cover of pro is open, closing it reverts to micro text default.

1080p by definition is 1920 x 1080 pixels. You can't achieve it unless you have the pixels.
You could achieve it with a capable external monitor.

You can download the trial version (http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html) to convert the PDF back to WORD if you do not have the original. The conversion may not be perfect, but it is typically better than starting from scratch. You may be lucky and get a good result. You might check the settings (in the save screen) to try retain format versus retain text flow. The format version can be a pain to edit since it creates a bunch of text boxes. The flow version may require you to reformat in WORD, but you likely would want to do that anyway.

Working in FCP6, open a project, sequence not showing ANY fonts from motion master templates. Start new sequence and they appear fine. Whats up with it?

So here's what I've got: one of the first gen Intel Macbooks with 2gb RAM, running a fresh install of FCS2, fully updated. I pulled out my external with my project on it (saved in the same version), that I keep my demo reel updated on. I've always used the motion text master template files to label each clip and for some reason, this round the text isn't appearing. Let me be clear just how weird this is: the template file will show up in the viewer, but any file set in this sequence will be blank. If there is any graphics to the file, IT shows up, but not the text. I opened up a new sequence and and first added a new master file to it, and it showed up on that sequence. I then went to the old sequence and copy/pasted the clips in it to the new sequence and the text shows up as well. What is up with the original sequence that is causing this issue??? Any thoughts? (unfortunately, my copy of Final Cut is a "Not for Resale" (NFR) so I can't call in for support.

I was just experiencing a similar problem today. In my situation I was getting the diagonal lines and the new project wasn't actually being trimmed, it was the same size as the original with all of the media from the original project .
It turns out that even though I was selecting 3 specific sequences out of 20 the Project Manager was ignoring that selection, it brought over those 3 sequences but all of the media from the other sequences. I think this is what was creating the problem.
The trim unused media box (or whatever the check box says) was greyed out.
My solution was to create a new clean project and import the 3 sequences I wanted to create a new trimmed project from.
Then using the Project Manager everything worked as expected, the project was trimmed down and there were no diagonal lines. I unchecked the "rename media" option, not sure if that was necessary part of the solution.
This seems like a bug to me, we shouldn't have to create a new project, it's an extra unwanted step and clutter on our systems.

Linking Effects from Old Sequence to Newer Sequence?

Hey guys!
Sort of complicated question that I'm hoping has a simple solution.
I have a two hour sequence that has been edited in Premiere CS6. While I was finalizing the edit, I had someone doing color work on the piece in Magic Bullet in Premiere CC. Now that the edit is finalized, there's a difference of ~25 minutes between one sequence and the other, related to minor edits, medium edits, and entire scenes being removed. Both sequences reference the same media.
Is it possible to quickly apply the color work from his sequence (applied as effects to each clip) to the newer sequence with the edits that we want?

This is typical of the default NEF RAW conversion of Aperture and the best thing you can do is set up a few presets to apply to all of your RAW images to get a tone curve and colors that is pleasing to you as a default. The in camera JPEGs / embedded JPEGs (that you first see during import) are treated to the Nikon "Picture Control" settings that are set on the camera - the RAW's as interpreted by Aperture are not.
I have written extensively and even have a few downloadable presets on my site - look for NEF...

Premiere Pro crashes after making a new sequence from media file

Every time I upload a video file and make it into a new sequence, a message pops up saying, "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." I've already re-installed the program, and checked to see if I had SP1 which I do. The crash report says:

In light of the faulting module (OpenCL.dll) and the exception code (0XC000005), I'd start by updating the graphics driver--manually through the card manufacturers site--or, if it's a laptop, from the computer manufacturer's site. Don't rely on Windows to get you the latest. If that doesn't work, try switching the Renderer to Software Only [File>Project Settings>General].

Copy Select Steps from Sequence to a new Sequence Programmatically

I have a sequence that calls a sequence file ( decided at run-time ) and when that sequence ( only 1 in this file ) has a step that fails it is stored in the external program. What I'd like to do is create a new sequence ( on the fly ), "extract" ( copy ) the steps that failed from the sequence I ran to the new sequence, and run the new sequence. 1. Best way to do that? 2. What happens to the preconditions, preexpressions, postexpressions of the steps when they're copied? Thanks.

You will need to use the Clone method rather than the NewStep and this should create a copy of your steps, including all the properties such as pre-conditions, pre-expressions etc.

New sequence from clip does not apply the Pro Res Compressor...

I wanted to test Premiere to see if it could handle Pro Res videos (which after some initial research, I read that it can). So to see for myself, I imported a Pro Res 422 video, right clicked the clip and selected "New Sequence From Clip"... But it does not seem to apply the Pro Res 422 compressor...
The video is originally HDV and I converted in Compressor to 422...
I know it may be pointless to convert HDV to Pro Res (not to mention that the HD clips weights 45 MB and the converted 205 MB, although in FCP the pro res is less taxing on the system as opposed to HDV, not sure if the same applies with Premiere)... But I will be receiving from pro res files soon, and I want to make sure they work properly in Premiere.

By dropping a Prores 422 clip on the Make Sequence button, I will hazard a guess that he expected to see a Prores 422 sequence created. In the FCP workflow that is the desire sequnce to play that clip in. What he is seeing in the second image (the sequence settings) is an AVCHD 1080 anamorphic sequence. And hes not sure why its not Prores.
Im sure once he reads the links Todd provided he will understand he is not in Appleland anymore and that there is a different workflow with PrP.
How did I do? ;-)

New sequence from clip not really matching my clips

We mainly do motion graphics and 3D animation, so I use Premiere Pro almost exclusively to edit together such pieces rendered out of After Effects using the Pro Res 4444 codec. As an FCP user, my instinct was that if I invoked creating a New Sequence from one of those clips Premiere would create a sequence that would match my Pro Res 4444 clip exactly. It doesn't. It matches the size and frame rate, but creates a sequence with the Editing mode set to ARRI Cinema, I-Frame Only MPEG Preview File Format, MPEG I-Frame codec, and my pristine ProRes 4444 ends up with a yellow render bar in the sequence.
Am I missing something?
I have to select custom from the Editing mode and manually select ProRes 4444, etc. Not a big deal. I could save that preset. Just wondering why that function doesn't totally match my source clip.

Hotmail automatically navigates away from send page on new (to me) macbook.

So I got my parents a macbook for home use, they're using safari. When using a hotmail account, and you try to reply to or send a new email, the page opens, then automatically navigates away from the sending page to the inbox. This makes it impossible to send any emails? It is almost instantaneous, in that it opens the new email page, holds for maybe 1 sec, then back to inbox.
I assume it's a settings issue? I have no idea. It happens in multiple hotmail accounts, but only in hotmail accounts, not yahoo, etc. And these hotmail accounts send emails perfectly from other computers.

Might be a cookie problem.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Security tab. Click "Show Cookies".
Delete all Hotmail / Microsoft cookies.
Quit Safari either from the menu bar, Safari / Quit Safari or Option + Command + E on the keyboard.
Try Hotmail.
If there's still a problem, check Safari / Preferences - Extensions. If there are any Extensions installed, turn that off then try again.
And try resetting Safari. Back to the menu bar click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 7 buttons, click Reset. Try again.
Just restarting a Mac can help too.
