New Server 2012 install - Active Directory not working properly
We recently converted from 2003 to 2012. Our 2012 R2 server seems to be running fine. We did a DCPROMO on the OLD 2003 DC just fine but now there are all sorts of odd errors (Sharepoint can't authenticate users, Can't run Exchange 2013 on another 2012 server
because it can't find AD, etc.)
on the DC we have a Group Policy error 1096. "Group Policy Object LDAP://CN=User,cn={2B476B3E-2749-4B1B-8EC1-F5672A66F94F},cn=policies,cn=system,DC=mydom,DC=local\\mydom.local\SysVol\mydom.local\Policies\{2B476B3E-2749-4B1B-8EC1-F5672A66F94F}\User\registry.pol"
So far I haven't found anything on how to fix this (and the AD itself.) There are some errors in the DCDIAG log, too:
Starting test: NetLogons
Unable to connect to the NETLOGON share! (\\ISD-DC1\netlogon)
[ISD-DC1] An net use or LsaPolicy operation failed with error 67,
The network name cannot be found..
Starting test: FrsEvent
There are warning or error events within the last 24 hours after the
SYSVOL has been shared. Failing SYSVOL replication problems may cause
Group Policy problems.
Any suggestions how we can fix these errors are greatly appreciated!
Hi,
Did you migrate the Active Directory from Windows server 2003 to Windows server 2012?
Please refer to this article:

I tried to migrate my files from my old G4 book to my new Macbook Air. It did not work properly and I want to restore the Air to its original settings. How do I do this?
You will need to use an external DVD drive to run the disc installer that came you your machine. You can also do it with another Mac using the Remote Install Max OS X app. Finely, if you have access to another computer, you could burn the install image on a USB thumb drive, boot from that, erase the drive and run the installer.

The head phone jack on my brand new iPod touch 5th generation is not working properly
The head phone jack on my brand new iPod touch 5th generation is not working properly. It has sound without the headphones in but when I plug them in it has no sound, it's low, or poppy. I had only used my apple supplied headphones once before and it worked fine. I know it's not the headphones because I tried them on my girlfriends phone and they worked fine.
- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

Pick activity is not working properly while creating two or more file adapt
Hi,
pick activity is not working properly while creating two or more file adapter for bpel process.
bpel process compiled and deployed succesfully but while observing the wsdl file of deployed process you can find only one file adapter. so it polls only from that location.
can anybody help on over this? or it's limitation of jdev to use only one file adapter at time while using Pick.
Thanks
sagarDoes anybody tried this?
Thanks

actually i bought iphone 4s in nov 2012 and now its not working properly and i lost my bill as well i want to request to get a copy of bill pls.....
You are not addressing Apple here. This is a user to user technical support forum. If you are having warranty issues with the phone, a copy of the bill is not necessary for Apple to check and evaluate the phone. If there is a manufacturer defect, they will deal with it.
What is "not working properly" on the phone. Maybe someone can help and it not be necessasry to be replaced. -
SQL Server 2012 Database Email is not working with AWS SES Services
Hi Greetings to all,
I have issue with the SQL Server Database mail Services. I have Configured Amazon Simple Email Services (AWS SES) as db profile in SQL Server and for last 2 years its working perfectly. But, from last two days on wards it is not working properly the Emails
are queued but not sent to the recipients. the SES Services are working fine in outlook. but, not working in SQL Server.
Please help on this. tried changing the ports no result only one or two emails only sent remaining are failing.the info messages is as below
Message
The mail could not be sent to the recipients because of the mail server failure. (Sending Mail using Account 10 (2015-04-10T17:12:41). Exception Message: Cannot send mails to mail server. (The operation has timed out.).
RehaanKhan. MHello,
Try to use port 465, port 2587 or port 587 instead of using port 25, as explained on the following articles.
http://docs.aws.amazon.com/ses/latest/DeveloperGuide/smtp-issues.html
http://docs.aws.amazon.com/ses/latest/DeveloperGuide/smtp-connect.html
The first of above URLs is intended for troubleshooting SMTP issues in general.
Verify you the mail account has not reached any limit. Limit of emails per day, per second, etc.
Hope this helps.

Active Directory not working Windows Server 2003 R2
Hi,
Like the subject said my root problem is either my Active Directory or DSN server. In order to properly explain the situation I will have to make the full Story. I was contacted by a family member to help
out a Non profit organisation with there server problem. Their current config is Windows Server 2003 R2 Running DC,AD,DNS,DCHP,File Services( i know is not efficient).
Here is how I come in to play, prior of me helping the had another server running same spec started having hardware failure and the invested in a new server. The person that set it up did replicate the server
on the new one as far as AC and Domain controller but nothing else. We ll now the DC01 failed and no user cannot login into a new computer
or if a new employee will try to added the changes don't take effect. Seeing the situation I went for the basic and seize fsmo roles to the new server. Perform Metadata clean up. Configure the DC02 as Master Domain Controller. Now everything
is set up and running but still No new user can be added or any exiting can log in
a different computer. At this point am out of answer I try everything I found in the forum. Am almost to the verge of deleting all and start
from scratch me knowing all config. Sorry for the long story am not good on resuming stuff. Please let me know If I need to add any other detail
I repeat DC01 is DEAD...
Also when a new user try to login or an existing user try to loging they get the system cannot log you on now because the domain is not availableNot Sure if this is the info requested but I ran the commands

Upgrade from Windows Server 2012 Active Directory to Windows Server 2012 R2 Active Directory
We are currently running Windows Server 2012 Active Directory and would like to upgrade to Windows Server 2012 R2 AD. Is it OK to just do an in-place upgrade, or is it advisable to build new domain controllers on R2? Are there any guides or articles anyone
can recommend?Hi Ginandtonic,
To upgrade DC(Domain Controller) from windows server 2012 to windows server 2012 r2, please refer to these articles:
Upgrade from windows Server 2012 to 2012 R2
Upgrade Active Directory from 2012 to 2012 R2
I hope this helps.

Bootcamp iMac + Active Directory = Not working!
I have a 2009 iMac with bootcamp and XP pro SP3 running great.
Now have to bind to Active directory box and having issues.
Will bind perfectly but upon restart the login windows stalls on selecting the new domain. the machine then needs to be restarted and same again etc etc.
I have a thinkpad with same install and it works a treat so definitely the iMac thats causing the issue.
Could it be the EFI?
Anyone had similar problems?
Any help would be grand

Server 2012 Essentials Active Directory users
I am in the process of setting up a small business with 40 users and 12 workstations, most of the users will be working in a client site on they workstation and some will have access to anywhere access. I'm aware of essentials limited to 25 users, my question
is can I only create 25 AD accounts or can I create 40, as all 40 users will not require concurrent access at sny given time?Hi,
à
when you say Essentials role experience is included, does this include Remote Anywhere feature in Essentials?
The Windows Server Essentials Experience role is available in Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard and Windows Server
2012 R2 Datacenter. When you install the Windows Server Essentials Experience role, you can take advantage of all the features that are available to you in Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials without the locks and limits enforced in it. Windows Server Essentials

Manage Anywhere Access in Windows Server
Essentials
By the way, if only have Windows Server 2012 Essentials, there are two scenarios in which Windows Server 2012
Essentials can be used in environments with more than 25 users. For more details, please refer to following article.
Using
Windows Server 2012 Essentials with more than 25 users
However, as Cliff and diramoh suggested,
Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard with the Windows Server Essentials Experience role installed will be a better option.
If anything I misunderstand or any update, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
Hope this helps.

SBS 2008 to Server 2012 R2 Active Directory Migration
Is there a tool that i can use to migrate Active Directory from SBS 2008 to Server 2012 R2?
There is no special tool for your situation. While there is a tool called ADMT that you may see mentioned if you search enough, it isn't really well suited for what you want.
With that said, there is also no *need* for a tool as I've already said. Nor do you need to recreate the users and have mismatched SIDs. You will add the 2012 machine to your existing domain and make it a domain controller. Yes, that means you will have
two DCs (for a time.) This is how larger organizations handle multiple DCs all the time, and they obviously don't go and create the same user on each DC. That is where the domain replication comes in. Your new server will be a DC and will replicate
all of the users *and* SIDs from the existing SBS server.
Then, when you are ready, you decommission the SBS 2008 server gracefully and the new 2012 server becomes your sole DC, but has AD completely intact. It is a tried and true practice, both within and outside of the SBS world, and has been done many many times. -
Server 2012 R2 Essentials - Webpages not working
Hi,
Just completed the initial essential experience configuration and added the DNS service.
Have set up DNS on the server and and I know the router (which is the only one in the network) is working. The dns service is running and the server says it is fully connected to the internet.
Problem is I can't access any websites. When I try to access the router web interface (which the server is directly conneced to) I get a message-box saying I can't open that page and nothing happens (this works with other computers). I can't access any other
web pages either. (eg. google.com)
Not sure what might be the issue, any help or do i need for information?Hi,
à
I can't access any other web pages either. (eg. google.com)
Would you please let me know whether you can access any website on other client computers? Just a confirmation,
thanks for your understanding.
Did you install any third-party security software on the server? Please temporarily disable firewall and security
software, then check if this issue still exists.
On the server, please ping the router via IP address and monitor the result. Meanwhile, please ping a public
IP via PathPing command. Any find?
By the way, would you please run
ipconfig /all command on the Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials and client computer, then collect the result and post here? (Please hide all protected or private information.)
If any update, please feel free to let me know.
Hope this helps.
Best regards,
Justin Gu

Server 2012 restrict active directory dynamic ports
Hello,
Has anyone encountered issues with restricting the Active Directory dynamic ports for Netlogon and NTDS in Server 2012? I have followed the added the typical registry entries as described below but I still see my RDS gateway in the DMZ trying to communicate
to my internal DC over other ephemeral ports (49158). I have rebooted the DC after the registry changes and still no effect. Are the reg entries the same in 2012? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
Registry key 1
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NTDS\Parameters
Registry value: TCP/IP Port
Value type: REG_DWORD
Value data: 49152 (This value needs to be specified in decimal format)
Registry key 2
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Netlogon\Parameters
Registry value: DCTcpipPort
Value type: REG_DWORD
Value data: 49153 (This value needs to be specified in decimal format)
Eddie Espino | Secure Data Solutions | Miami, Florida | Microsoft PartnerHi,
There are at least two options that can be used to allow replication when there are network traffic filters (aka firewall) in the network, across two DCs:
1. Use registry keys on the DCs to force communication over specific ports
2. Use IPsec to restrict the traffic to two ports only (IP 50 and IP 51)
I tried to find some relevant documents, but could not find support for restricting the Active Directory dynamic ports for Netlogon and NTDS in Server 2012. You could refer to the following article, it may help you to solve your issues:
Restricting AD Replication Traffic between DCs to only a few ports

Windows Server 2012 Essentials Connection Software not working
This comes in response to a ticket I got great help from a user on but I'm still stuck on the connection software bit.
Original Thread: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/0a7e6d91-98c7-42f2-9cdd-66117df91d76/win-2012-essentials-not-allowing-client-connections?forum=winserveressentials#0a7e6d91-98c7-42f2-9cdd-66117df91d76
Summary: All my machines 8 of them up to now have been adding machines using the servername/connect
Well I have 2 new HP's here Win 7 Pro all updated that WILL NOT get past the asking for the server username/pass screen of the connects software install. I can get them onto the server manually and my GP applies fine, my roaming profiles are working, the
computer is seen in AD but I have none of the features that are provided by the connect software like dashboard viewing and backups etc.
The error I get is "The server is not available. Try connecting this computer again, or for more information, see Troubleshoot connecting computers to the server"
Anyone have any ideas?Hi James,
Based on your description, “Well I have 2 new HP's here Win 7 Pro all updated that WILL NOT get past the
asking for the server username/pass screen of the connects software install.”, would you please let me confirm whether have reached the page of Windows Server Essentials Connector Configuration Wizard as below picture shows, then can’t go through?

Did you mean that add the client computer to windows essentials domain by using traditional method (change
Workgroup to Domain in System Properties)?
When this issue occurred, please ping server from the problematic client computer by using server name and
IP address. Then monitor the result.
Meanwhile, I noticed your
original thread that Howtodo have provided some suggestions. As he mentioned, would you please check if Connector software had been installed? Please alos check ClientDeploy log file.
By the way, did you add the client computer to windows server essentials network via wireless?
Hope this helps.

Justin Gu
