New SOA Suite VM

First of all, let me say a seriously and outstandingly great effort on this, very cool
with the use of Vmenu and lots of python scripting.
It seems to be missing OEPE and I was trying to connect my OEPE instance
remotely to the VBoxInstance running on another machine
I am using the adress of the remote machine (192.168.1.6:7001) hosting the guest VM
which is the NAT, port forwarded .
Getting a javax.naming.ConnectionException (Root exception is java.net.ConnectionException: t3//192.168.1.6:7001: Bootstrap to t7400.localdomain failed. It is likely that the remote
side declared peer gone on this JVM])
Do I need to adjust the hosts file on the VirtualBox VM to know about the 192.168.1.6 host ?
help

All
Is the only way to do this is via host - only network on VirtualBox, or is there a NAT config I am missing

Can someone, please, suggest what I am missing?
    Thanks in advance

    Hello Michael,
I analyzed this issue and found that it is working as designed. Developers templates are designed for low memory hosts and hence certain applications like b2bui, composer, OracleAppsAdapter etc. does not get deployed by default. If a user wants to use these applications then he may target and deploy them manually from Weblogic Admin console.
As these applications may not be required for all users who installed SOA (because SOA installable contains many components of SOA like BPEL, Mediator, Rules, Workflow, B2B and BPM Suite as well and a developer may not be interested in using all these applications), so these apps does not get deployed by default.
For the benefit of other users of this community, I have blogged about the same here where you may also find steps that how to enable these applications -
    http://anuj-dwivedi.blogspot.com/2011/02/b2b-consolesoa-composer-not-opening-up.html
Thanks for bringing this issue up here in this forum.

  • Problem configuring SOA suite to use OID for authentication

We are in the process of rebuilding our environment to use the full SOA suite with our OID server for authentication (was previously just BPEL using AD directly), and have encountered several problems (below). We have rebuilt the OID server, and reinstalled the SOA suite into a clean ORACLE_HOME to no avail.
We first rebuilt the OID server using the following steps (derived from Oracle® Internet Directory Administrator's Guide):
    1)     Create the Import and Export profiles for AD synchronization. We did this using the Directory Integration and Provisioning Server Administration tool under “Active Directory Configuration”
    2)     Modify the map file to specify the correct OU mappings between AD and OID.
    3)     Update the profile with the new map file using “dipassistant.bat mp”
    4)     Bootstrap the import profile using “dipassistant.bat bootstrap”
    5)     Start a new instance of the Integration server (odisrv) running on config set 1 (the config set containing the Active Directory import/export profiles) using “oidctl”
    6)     Set the Import profile to Enable. The OID server does not export changes to AD in our current configuration, so the Export profile is left on disable (and not bootstrapped)
At this point it appears that the AD synchronizes correctly into our new OID server.
Next we installed the SOA suite:
    1)     We ran “irca.bat” on our database server to create the ORABPEL, ORAESB, and ORAWSM schemas and associated integration repository structure.
    2)     After launching the SOA suite installer, we selected Advanced Install.
    3)     On the next screen, we selected J2EE Server, Web Server, and SOA Suite.
    4)     We then provided the credentials for our Oracle database, and the passwords for ORABPEL, ORAESB, and ORAWSM.
    5)     We configured our new AS instance as an administration instance, but did not opt to use from a separate HTTP server, and did not make this instance part of an OAS cluster topology.
And finally, we configured our new SOA suite instance to use OID for authentication (using the instructions in Oracle® BPEL Process Manager Administrator's Guide section 2.1.3):
    1)     Used the configure_oid.bat command to seed OID with required users only.
    2)     Logged into the OracleAS Control Console
    3)     Chose the oc4j_soa instance, then Administration->Security->Identity Management
    4)     Configured the OID server using a non-ssl connection and the cn=orcladmin account.
    5)     When prompted, chose to reconfigure all applications in the oc4j_soa instance to OID, but not to use SSO for any of them.
    6)     Copied the contents of ORACLE_HOME\j2ee\home\config\jazn.xml to ORACLE_HOME\j2ee\oc4j_soa\config\jazn.xml
    7)     Restarted the application server.
After this procedure, we encountered the following issues:
    1)     The BPEL console appears to authenticate users correctly out of OID, but no users have access to the default domain, including bpeladmin and oc4jadmin. All users receive a similar access denied message when attempting to log into the BPEL Admin Console.
    2)     We cannot upload a BPEL process to our new server via JDeveloper’s standard BPEL deployment mechanisms. The connection appears to be working properly and passes all tests, but on uploading a process we get a Java AccessDeniedException. ESB appears to be functioning properly, and accepts uploaded projects without issue.

    Bassman,
We recently configured our SOA Suite to use OID and SSO. We had the same issues you are having, and we found the resolutions in a blog from Jaas Poot (http://blog.jpoot.com/category/oracle-appserver/oid-ldap/). For the BPEL domain access, this involved going to the data-sources.xml file and changing the database passwords from using ->pwForOrabpel for the orabpel schema and ->pwForOraesb for the oraesb schema to the real passwords; the blog explains more about this.
The blog also covers the JDeveloper deployment issue, and another issue we encountered, where we couldn't access the BPEL Admin console. All of these were resolved following the steps in the blog.
    Hope this helps
    Candace

  • SOA Suite 10.1.3.1 on Solaris?

Just wondering, does anyone know if the new soa suite v.10.1.3.1.0 can be run on solaris.
Has anyone sucessfully performed an install?
    Cheers

Yes, the link for CD2 of the SOA Suite points to CD1!
I have used a very simple solution: I copied the download link into the address input field of another browser window and have substitute the file name part soa_Solaris_101310_disk1.cpio by soa_Solaris_101310_disk2.cpio.
    This will download CD2.

  • Oracle SOA Suite (10.1.3.1.x) with AS 10.1.2.0.2

    Hi
We are planning to use Oracle SOA 10g R3 (BPEL &ESB) product with our current Oracle Application Servers 10.2.2.0.2 (Oc4j &Bc4j) , I need to know if Oracle SOA Suite 10gR3 (10.1.3.1.0) release can co-exist with our currently used version 10.2.2.0.2.
Can we leave the current setup running as is and install the new SOA Suite 10g R3 on a new separate machines and interface it with our current environment.
    Thanks

"When I was installing SOA 10.1.3.1.0 on oracle 10.2.0.1 and it was giving error that it needs minimum 10.2.0.3, just wondering 10.1.2.0.2 + SOA =will this work?"
so you talk about the db version. SOA 10.1.3.x runs on 10.2.0.1 and above (I ran for the longest time on XE) and if I remember correctly that's a warning, and not a hard prereq.
Regarding Appserver versions - soa 10.1.3 runs on AS 10.1.3 only

  • Proxy settings for SOA Suite 10.1.3.1.0

    Hi,
after migrating my processes into the new SOA Suite 10.1.3.1.0, one of my processes won't run anymore. This is due to missing proxy configuration.
I followed this explanation[1] which worked for the process manager 10.1.2xx but not for the SOA Suite.
I really appreciate your help and any suggestions.
    thanks,
    Gregor
[1] how to config the proxy of Bpel process manager(with password)

You need to go to the AS Control pages (Enterprise Manager). Click on the container that runs SOA suite (typically "home" for simple install, or "OC4J_SOA" for advanced install).
On the OC4J page, click on the "Administration" tabsheet. Click on "Server Properties".
You should find the commandline options for OC4J.
You will need to set the following options:
    -Dhttp.useProxy=true
    -Dhttp.proxyHost=<your proxyserver>
    -Dhttp.proxyPort=<your proxyport>
-Dhttp.nonProxyHosts=<any servers like localhost you don't want to run via the proxy>

  • HTTP Server not starting in SOA Suite for linux

    Hi all,
Installation and configuration of the new SOA Suite on SUSE 9 is not without faults. During the configuration the HTTP Server process is not starting. According the log file (opmn/logs/HTTP_Server~1.log) the HTTP Server is trying to start in SSL-mode, but I guess the SSL was not properly configured during the installation by the installer. I am not able to configure SSL myself, so my workaround was to disable SSL in the opmn.xml configuration file.
Is anyone experiencing these problems? How can I configure SSL? Is SSL supposed to be enabled on the soa-server?
    Thanks in advance,

  • How much Oracle Apps knowledge is needed to master SOA Suite 11g?

I am an experience server-side java developer with little experience with Oracle Apps. I have worked on BPEL process manager earlier, but the new SOA Suite 11g has much more than just BPEL PM. When I go through the Oracle documentation, most of the examples are based on Oracle Apps that a person with little knowledge on for example, PO processing etc cannot understand very clearly. Is there any other way, I can get some standalone examples that are not based on Oracle Apps ?
    Share some examples pls.

  • OSB and SOA Suite 11.1.1.7 new features?

    Hi,
I could not find the information about any new features in Oracle Service Bus and Oracle SOA Suite 11.1.1.7 release. (I know about the Adaptive case management in BPM 11.1.1.7)
Anyone has a link for that?

  • Restoring SOA suite on a new host fails.

SOA Suite is 10.1.3.1, and upgrade to 10.1.3.3.1.
this suite run on windows 2003.
I do the restore according to admin guide chapter 18.3.3
but when run the 3rd step
    bkp_restore.bat -m node_restore -o inst_register
    it prompts:
Service Oracle-OracleSOAServerProcessManager in a state that can't be recreated.
    Please remove it manually first.
I have checked, there is no Oracle-OracleSOAServerProcessManager service on the new host.
    any suggestion?

    Do this.
Stop services in A, make a copy of all Oracle Home, etc/oratab, /var/opt/oracle and so on
and coppy them to the B.
Then in B, restore the copy and make a chmod -R 750 for the complete ORACLE_HOME, then run the root.sh
After that, just make a little change in the host file, and put as an alias the name of A in B.
Then run the script $OH/chgip/scripts/chgiphost.sh -mid
and for the source use a and target use b for name and ip.
Check the log and if it's ok, just remove the name of A in the host file as alias.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards.

  • SOA suite: configure a new oc4j container, licensing and support

    Hi
We have a SOA suite installation (10.1.3.4).
Default installation is containing a OC4J_SOA running the esb, bpel etc.
Now we have a java ear (java web service), and would like to deploy this to a dedicated oc4j container.
So we want to configure a new oc4j instance named oc4j_jws.
Actually, we have already done this, and it is looking good.
Now I only want to make sure the configuration of a new oc4j container is not violating any licensing and support agreements.
    We have soa suite license.
I believe a soa suite license allows for configuration of additional oc4j containers.

The adding of oc4j instances is at least well documented within the Oracle Application Server Administrator's Guide:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/core.1013/b28940/reconfig.htm

  • Any news on a release date for the 11g SOA suite?

The latest technological preview release is from may last year.
Does anyone know when/if a new version of the SOA suite is planned to be released?
(I really like the new 11g JDeveloper, and would like to do some BPEL processing etc and deploy it all to a new and shiny SOA server. I don't know if the latest JDeveloper talks very well with our old 10.1.3.1 SOA installation)
    Regards,
    Haakon

No date, rumors are this year :)
I believe Oracle is trying to get something before 1 June. But this may not be the full release there may be some missing components, e.g. the stuff that is difficult to port from BEA.
Before 11g I believe there is another 10g release wich will certify SOA Suite on WL 10R3
Also you are correct 11g JDev is not compatible with 10.1.3.1, the only version certified with this version is 10.1.3.1. SOA Versions have to be kept in sync with the JDev version.
    cheers
