There's a new SW update available for Nokia Asha 311: version 3.90. The update is available via Nokia Suite, but not currently available via FOTA update. I will be posting an update here if the situation changes.
Key changes:
Usability & performance improvements, for example the device key/screen lock functionality has been improved
Fix for AZERTY keypad when French language is used
Fix for Youtube video playback

If anybody faces "Internal error. Either your device’s software of hardware (or both) is not compatible…" error message when attempting to update their phone to this 3.90 version, check your product code with *#0010# and report me the code that is listed after "content:" field.

Thank you for posting and welcome to Nokia Support Discussions!
Try to reinstall the software of your Nokia C2-02. Using Nokia Suite click on Tools > Software update > Reinstall.
If in case you can't reinstall the software, try doing a master reset. Go to Menu > Settings > Restore factory settings > Restore All.
Note: Create a backup first before doing any kind of reset to avoid deletion of data. If prompted for a lock code, enter 12345 unless you changed it.

Skype has not published a native version of its messaging application for Nokia Series 40 devices. Therefore, it is not possible as of this moment.

A new SW update for Asha 311 is currently being rolled out: version 5.92. Some of the consumers are already able to get the update, the rest should follow soon. The update is currently also only available via Nokia Suite, and not via FOTA yet. I will be posting an update here when there is further development on this topic.

Hey armagon, i have updated my asha 311 to 5.92 but there is still no copy-paste option, why?
I also noticed that the cancel button below Select Internet Connection popup doesn't work, it never clicks. I have attached screenshots of the phone so that you could see what i mean.

The update is currently temporarily available on via FOTA (and not via Nokia Suite). There was a small problem with automatic user data restore with Nokia Suite after the update, which is currently being investigating. If you already updated your device with Nokia Suite, you might have to trigger the userdata restore manually from "tools->restore".

if you update the device with Nokia Suite or take it to a Care service point for reflashing, the Social app is removed and directly replaced with new standalone Facebook & Twitter clients.
Even if you update the device via FOTA (in which case Social app stays on the phone), I would still strongly recommend downloading the standalone Facebook & Twitter clients from Nokia Store as those provide a better user experience.

By default your phone is set to automatically check for updates every 8 days and you will be notified when an update is available for download. If you want, it's possible to force the update check immediately by switching off and back on "Check via mobile data" setting from the “Phone update” menu. The size of the update is around 8 MB, so it's recommended to use Wi-Fi for the download.

Dear Nokia Software Employee,
Thank you for the new nokia 501 update.
However I am interested to get another new update concerning:
1) Wireless configuration:
It will include security mode of 802.1x, and EAP plug-in settings such as EAP-LEAP, EAP-PEAP, etcc....
2) Keep applications minimized instead of closed:
Sometimes there are some applications need to be minimized and not to be closed
Ex: Applications such Athan, Prayers, Quran, etccc...
3) Some Applications menu not working with screen touch but working with key buttons
There are some applications that you cannot use the screen touch under the menu
I will be greatful if the software will finalize the above suggestions

If you are located in Sri Lanka, your Nokia Care might refuse to change the product code. You have to double check with them and hope the best. Although, in a situation like yours, I would not waste much time and do it myself.
That's something great to hear from you. I have been kind of a techy guy for a long time and I am a fast learner. So I believe that I will be able to execute the change of region task, if a set of instructions are there to follow. Can you provide me with a source that teaches how to change the region of a mobile phone?
Regarding the suggestions to Nokia, I then don't think that they would want to hear views from their customers and they might well want to go on their own way (probably why Samsung overtook them in mobile industry). I do not know and this is actually my 2nd Nokia phone in my life (had a short stint with Nokia 2600 Classic, a long time ago).
For an example, the Sony Ericsson Cedar (and their other basic phones) had the feature to set specific "Message tones" to specific contacts, instead of setting a general message tone for every contact. But Nokia does not provide such a feature. Probably, they think that such features are not relevant, but still many of their customers around the world would have loved to have such kinds of small small features.This feature was very vital for me during the days I was using SE Cedar and I am missing that feature a lot from Nokia 208.
The other major issue is that, Nokia does not allow minimizing of Java applications. For example, When I had SE Cedar, I used to browse internet using Opera Mini while I text with someone for a longer time. I mean, until the other party sends a reply, I browse the internet and once the reply arrives, I minimize it and continue texting and then get back to surfing internet again after sending the reply. But with Nokia, I have got to close the application to read the text message and that's been really annoying.
I tried to break the Nokia Security Wall with some sort of tutorial based on internet related to S40 firmwares, but it did not work.
Any help regarding the issues mentioned above, would be highly appreciated.

Hi I bought my new Nokia C3-00 mobile yesterday. It is very good in functions, but the problem I felt is that there is no control to adjust the brightness. I searched all over the net and couldn't find a solution. That's why came here to put a suggestion. Why the Nokia people didn't made such a basic function in some phones.
Is any firmware update have this function ?
Also, my phone has version 7.20, RM-614. Nokia now announced that a firmware option 8.63 is available. So I checked for software update directly from my phone using the software updater. It founded a software update and downloaded it. After downloading, it begin to install by restartign the phone, But after restarting, before installing, the message displayed that Unable to Install. Why like this ?I tried it 2 3 times. The same with he case of OVI. Nokia, please consider the needs of customers.

what SW version does your device currently have? Type *#0000# in the device homescreen to check this. Also what is your product code? That can be seen by typing *#0010# in the homescreen (the code is listed after the "content:"-field).

ITunes tells me there is new software updates available for my nano and when I press update it tells me that iTunes could not contact the iPod software update server b/c I'm not connected to the internet (I know that I am or I could not submit this)?

New software is available for your computer?

I hope this is the right place to post this. I currently have iLife '08 and iWork '08 and I'm running Leopard 10.5.8. Every Sunday evening I get a software update request from Apple "New software is available for your computer." The update is for iLife Support version 9.0.4. In the extra comments section it says "The update is recommended for all users of iLife '09, iWork '09 and Aperture." (I do not have Aperture.) Do I need this update? (Is it for '08 too?) If I do not, how do I permanently keep this update from showing up? Right now, I just keep canceling and it reappears the following Sunday.

I don't think there's any way to prevent just this update from showing up, but you can disable Software Update announcements. In System Preferences>Software Update, you can disable notifications completely, or have them show up monthly instead of weekly. (But then you might miss something you do want, so keep checking manually.)

You need to visit Nokia Care .. Not sure if the result is due to some Hardware damage due to the fall ..Even if its due to software the firmware needs to be flashed at NCC.
