New Software wont work.

So I just bought a 32GB iTouch 3rd geneeration. And when I go to update it to the 4.0.2 it always brings up a screen that says this.
"There was a problem downloading the software for the iPod _____. The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active. Or try again later"
Now I'm assuming by network they mean the internet I'm not sure. If that's it my connection is fine. If not then I dont know what it is. I called a person with apple and he said try turning off my firewall...that did nothing. Then I read that you shuld make sure iTunes is updated and I just did that and tried it and it still doesnt work. I dont know what else to try. Help...?

Have you tried to manually download the firmware using your browser? Once you complete that download you can (shift-click or control-click) on the "Restore" button and select the file you've just downloaded.

    The built in email program does sound an alert for new messages.
    2. Anyone know of a good (free, again) IRC client?
    iChat works well.
    3. I noticed earlier that my screen was flickering,
    it seems to have subsided for now, but is that normal
    to encounter in a new display? It wasn't really bad
    flicker, but I could see it.

    4. I leave my desktops on 24/7x365, will that be a
    problem with this iMac? Display shuts off of course
    after 30 mins
    You could set the iMac to go to sleep after non use. My Macs are
    always sleeping when not in use, waking them up takes seconds.
    Unlike windoze, never knew if it would be locked up or not.
    5. Should I get the extended warranty? I'm usually
    against them, but I am expecting this computer to
    last me at least 3 years (for $1300 it better!)
    before I upgrade, as I got that much out of a Dell
    and from what I understand, Mac's do not age nearly
    as fast as Windows pc's.
    It is well worth the cost. Never know what might happen. Also
    it is good insurance for future upgrades. I traded in my G4 tower
    purchased two years ago for 75% of what I paid for it. Apple care
    transfers, giving the buyer the remainder of your warranty.

    AIR give you classes to detect an on-line or off-line status, it's in 
    this way for the sake of flexibility for instance what happens if you 
    only what to sync  data only on Saturdays at 2 am? If it were done 
    automatically that'll be a problem. And it isn't so complicated.

    I don't understand your question abou file types.
    An AIR app can communicate with almost every backend served tech 
    CF, .Net, PHP, RoR.

    hi, try all what these guys say, as they make sense (my bet is on a slug of kebab guys ). 
    you list bits you have tried but don't say if you have tried a new lead?
    i'm not being tricky, as an electronics engineer of some 40+ years who repairs consuls, iPhones, iPads etc. i have some experience of what gets overlooked. Some of the cheap after market leads aren't the best quality,and some darn right lethal, likely to catch fire while your asleep. you might have bought of them.
    i find it tends only genuine Apple leads lock in, but there might be fakes of them to. either way worth a go. perhaps se if your family or mates have one.

    Back up your iPad. Then restore the iPad to the original factory settings. Then restore from your backup. Things should improve for you.

  • New Itunes wont work!!! :-(

    I dont know whats going on, when i opened itunes it said that there was a new update and i was all like ya!!!....Not any more!!! When i was downloading the quick times part there was some errar and it said i could debug. so i did and everthing was fine. When i went to open up itunes it would not open at all. It would just show the bizzy icon and then nother. I removed both itunes and quick times and then trying to reinstall but still nothing. No errar this time but sill wont work. Need help plzzz.

    i'm getting the exact same thing on my computer and i don't like it, iTunes has only gotten more and more problems ever since v.4(the version i started with), it seems like they need to take MORE TIME on the updates before they put them out and instead of having us have to hunt for the fix to the problem we're having and fixing it ourselves they should make corrected updates. all i know is i'm growing more displeased with each update of iTunes. am i the only one that feels this way???

    I have read a couple of threads talking about Nokia N70 & TomTom. Did anyone get there phones flashed with the new software version which is V5.0609.2.01, 01-03-06, RM-84? and is using the latest tomtom mobile 5 version 5.2 (443). I want to know how it works and what all problems still exits.

    Main problems are with the bluetooth connection being dropped.
    I've had mine flashed to Version 5 firmware and it still drops the bluetooth connection to the GPS receiver.
    I'm not using the genuine TomTom GPS receiver so that could be causing it.
    It's not any way near as bad as version 2, that was rubbish the GPS connection dropped out every 20mins.
    Then you had to switch the phone on/off to reset it.
    IT's been a nightmare for alot of owners!!

    - It appears that the music was not in the iTunes library of the computer on which the update was performed.  The backup that iTunes makes at the beginning of the update (and sync) process does not includ music and some other items since thos are synced to the iPod latter in the update process.
    - When you started the update iTunes shuld have given you a warning that there were iTunes purchases that were not on the computer.
    - The purchased music buton only appears in countries where iCloud has been released. It appears that it is not released yet in Denmark.
    - You need to contact iTunes and explain what happend and request a redownload.  They do not have to give a rdownload since when y purchase music it says you only get one download and it is up to you to backup the music.  See this article for contacting iTunes.

  • My new charger wont work for the computer but will work in the wall charger

    So recently, the charger for my Ipod touch 5th generation broke(my puppy chewed it) so I went to get a new charger. I found that the new charger was not working when i plugged it into my computer. After i returned the charger, and got one that seemed a little better, i plugged it into my computer and found that that one also didnt work. I was extremely angry and confused about why they werent working. I was wondering if the problem was my ipod or the charger or the computer. So i plugged it into a wall charger in the wall and that did work! So now im assuming its just my computer but it has always worked before when i plugged it into my computer untill the last charger i had broke. Any idea how to fix this? Or is this unfixable?

    - Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

    Ok, i litterally just found out a few min ago that i need the latest and gratest itunes to even sync my devices (iphone 4) how am i to sync my phone? I have apps on it which require physically connecting them to my computer. Any ideas out there? i can still sync my ipad but it has IOS 5.1.1. If i cant sync my phone im just going to have to go back to IOS 5.1.1.

    If you have an iPhone5 you have to use iTunes 10.7.  If you have anything else, especially older equipment even with iOS6, you can use iTunes 10.6.3 which will run on a G5.

    Remember with an older computer you will find more and more hardware and software will not work with it.  You should pay attention to system requirements before updating anything or buying new components.

    i just bought a new 2 gb nano today and i have windows i have installed the cd it gives u but the computor will not do anythin when i plug it in like it wont charge or anything and i got this cheap wall charger and car charger that connects to your usb cord but i wont charge i think i could b the usb cord but im not sure please help!!

    If your iPod isn't charging then maybe its your USB connection on your PC. Check to see if it is installed properly and has the latest drivers... Windows xp will automatically reckonize the iPod as an external device if you USB ports are working correctly.

  • Fried my battery with variable voltage charger... new battery; wont work

    so i plugged my ipod into one of those cheesy charge anything car adapters when it was on the wrong voltage setting. only took a few seconds before my ipod died, permanently... so i ordered a replacement battery and installed it... but for some reason it wont take a charge when i plug it into my comp... i figured the new battery was faulty so i got sneaky and popped the case off my girlfriends ipod and plugged my battery into it and connected it to my computer, and the **** thing turned on... so after my new battery was charged i took it out of my girlfriends and put it back into mine and it turned on... i was stoked, until i plugged it into my comp it said "battery low please connect to power source", beeped at me a few times and shut off. the battery has a full charge but it wont connect thru the usb cord to my computer or a wall charger... why cant my ipod connect anymore did i fry some internal circuitry as well as the battery... please offer any advice you might have im stumped and i cant just pull the case of my girlfriends ipod everytime i need a charge.

    I assume by wrong voltage setting, you mean you had it set too high? Was it connected to your iPod through a USB connection?

  • My Old/New Iphone wont work

    My friend recently got a new IPhone3GS, because of that, he gave me his old IPhone3G. I immediately went to settings, reset, and I reset the whole Iphone, and all the data. It was taking a while, but what I didn't know was that it had a low battery. Around the half way mark of the format the battery died, I plugged it in, and I-Tunes wont recognize it. I try turning it on, and it brings up the Apple Logo, for about 15-30 seconds, and it flashes and turns off. I have been keeping it plugged in, so it is not a battery issue. How would I fix this?

    When using the reset all data and settings option with the iPhone, the iPhone should be connected to a power source and remain connected until the process is complete. This is a secure erase.
    Try placing the iPhone into recovery mode. If successful, this will require restoring the iPhone with iTunes.
