NEW SONGS NOT SHOWING IN ITUNES 11 LIBRARY

No new songs that i import are showing up in my iTunes Library!!!!! HOWEVER, I can view them in a playlist if I drag and drop them there from my desktop.
I don't understand why apple have to constantly keep updating and changing things that work perfectly fine, to these dysfunctional versions!!!
I cannot add any new music, nor can i create ringrtones as it does not allow me to add the AAC version to my library!
Someone please help!!!

Use the add to library function again, but just point the application to the iTunes library on the computer rather than the DVD backup.

  • Purchased song not showing in itunes library

Earlier today I purchased several songs today, and one of the songs that I bought was showing up under purchased playlist in my library, but not actually in my library if that makes sense. It was also showing up in the purchased section in the itunes store. I tried deleting the song and hopefully being able to redownload it but it was still showing up as if it was in my library. I even tried hiding the purchase and then unhiding it but when I did that it still showed up in the purchased section as if it was in my library. Is there a way to change this?

    Hello toi_va,
I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on exactly what you are seeing or describing. If you are having issues finding this particular song, even after redownloading, you may find the information and steps outlined in the following article helpful:

  • Recently purchased iTunes songs not showing up in Library

I'm a MAC user and am having issues with iTunes 11.   I have Match.  When I order a song off iTunes it doesn't show up in my library.  I search on my hard drive and it's not there.  I see it when I go to my purchased history within the iTunes store (Home page, down at bottom, Featured --> Purchased). There's a downward arrow next to the song, which indicates that it's available for download but it's not on my hard drive.  I download the song, and then it appears in my library.   This used to be ocassional but not happens every time.  Anyone have any idea of what's going on?
What's weird is that when I purchase a song, the download arrow and status bar look like it's actually downloading something.  But believe me the song is not on my hard drive.
I've reinstalled iTunes twice.  Logged out and logged back in twice.  Kindof wishing I didn't install 11.  Customer service is not being all that helpful.
    Your help is much appreciated.

I had the same issue and it was resolved with today's iTunes update to 11.0.1
"This update to the new iTunes addresses an issue where new purchases in iCloud may not appear in your library if iTunes Match is turned on, makes iTunes more responsive when searching a large library, fixes a problem where the AirPlay button may not appear as expected, and adds the ability to display duplicate items within your library."

  • New Songs Not Showing Up on Apple TV, Apple TV not in iTunes Sidebar

I have a first-generation Apple TV. I'm able to see my library of music fine, but new additions are not showing up. I've gone into iTunes to try and sync it, but the Apple TV is no longer appearing under devices. I went ahead and turned on Home Sharing, which I did not need before, and Apple TV showed up under Devices, but STILL, my new music additions were not appearing on the Apple TV and there is no Sync option. I turned off Home Sharing and the Apple TV disappeared from the iTunes sidebar. Where do I go from here?

Are the files in the library?
I notice that music and movie categories exist, and I can watch the movies I have converted using handbrake, and iMovie for home movies that we're added to my iTunes library....but... I want to sort this into kid movies, parent movies, and home video categories.  Apple TV will be so much more useful if I don't have to use my iPad to air play my home movies.  Browsing a single list of video that includes these 3 distinct functional categories is pretty lame.   Where is my apple freedom here?
I expect this fixed or more easily configured with the new Yosemite and iOS update. I hope there is an Apple TV update to make this better too.

  • Songs not showing in iTunes Music Library....Please help!

    Hello,
I'm running into a problem with my iTunes library. I'm pretty new to the Mac - so I was hoping one of the experts on this forum might have an answer. Since we just got our iMac (we're PC converts) I'm totally willing to accept that I may have just dome something incorrect.
I have a DVD/RW that has my music backed up to it (all MP3 and a few AAC), it has about 750 songs in all. I tried to add the music from that disc using "Add To Library" function. It seemed to copy and process all 700+ songs just fine, but when when I look at my Music Library in the main iTunes window, it only shows the first 40 or so (it only has artists A-B alphabetically), and that's it.
When I look in my user/music/itunes/itunes music folder, it appears that iTunes copied all the songs to the folder properly in an itunes music/artist/album format. For some reason it just only shows the first few Artists in the main Music Library.
The weird thing is, I have a couple other discs (CD/RW's) that have a few MP3's on them (10-15 per disc - songs I added after making my large backup)....and I was able to add those to the iTunes library using the same "Add To Library" function, with no issues at all.
This is a brand spankin' new just-out-of-the-box iMac (so a fresh install of Leopard), with all the latest software updates applied before I started putting any of my stuff on.
Any help or guidance will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Sully

  • TV Show Items not showing in iTunes Library (or Purchased Playlist)

I recently purchased 4 episodes of the BBC Planet Earth series 1 in HD in four separate transactions.
During the first transaction I was surprised that both the *HD version* and *Standard version* was in download list. Since this was my first purchase of an HD title (I did not want to pay unnecessarily for both versions) because the download was to play on Apple TV. I therefore deleted standard version from the download list.
When I got my "invoice" I reported the two version download as a problem with *Apple iTunes Store*. The response was that both versions are downloaded for the HD price. They pointed out that should I wish to sync a copy to my iPod touch the standard version would be required. They also provided a re-download of the "non HD" version, a new button appeared in the bottom of the iTunes window.
On the next 3 occasions I let the iTunes store download both versions of each episode. However I do not have a copy of the standard versions in my *Purchased Items* or they don't show in my *iTunes Library* either.
In the *+Finder view+* the standard version ( .m4v files) are in the *+TV Shows folder+* together with the HD version.
How can I get these into the *iTunes library* (so I can sync to the ipod) and the purchased items?
I have tried via *+File>Add to Library+* does not work and Apple iTunes Store cannot offer advice!!
Thanks in anticipation of your help

  • Purchased songs not appearing in itunes library

Many of my past purchased songs were not appearing in my itunes library.     After trying many different methods (over 2 hours of investigation) I finally discovered that I need to check the box in the PREFERENCES that says   "Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases".
    iTunes 11.0
EDIT -->  PREFERENCES -->  STORE --> "Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases".
    Then... all my songs appeared!
It's not clear to me when a purchase is "in the cloud" and when it's not ?   I'm not sure how that works... but this solved my problem.   Maybe it will solve it for you too!

Perhaps the files have been added to your library, but iTunes wasn't displaying them in the Music list for some strange reason. Apparently the most effective voodoo is to obtain the current "Free Single of the Week". It may be that any new purchase causes ITunes to reindex itself properly but this one seems to work, and is free.
Alternatively you could try closing iTunes, deleting the hidden file sentinel from within the main iTunes folder, and restarting. This should cause iTunes to run an integrity check on the database which will likely resolve any issues.
Turning on that option would let an empty library show links to your previous purchases for streaming or download purposes. It may also have triggered a reindexing of the library to compare local content with iTunes in the Cloud.

  • Pdfs and MP3s in iTunes Folder not showing up iTunes Library - Please Help

Hi, I am running iTunes 10.7 on a 15 inch MacBook Pro 2.4 Ghz Intel Core i7 with 4 GB of RAM using OS X 10.7.5.
My problem is that when I bring the latest set of pdf and MP3 files I added do not show up in my iTunes library.  If I go through the finder they are in the iTunes folder, but they will not display or play.
    Thank you
    Nucleus

They will not play or display even outside of iTunes?  Not with Quicktime Player (for the mp3s) or Preview (for the PDFs)?  If that's the case the files are probably corrupt.
Adding items to iTunes and not having them appear in the library is a recurring problem with newer versions for some.
    Try restarting iTunes.
Check your recently added playlist.  If they are there, try temporarily editing an item in the name, then restart iTunes and see if it appears.
Start iTunes, immediately hold down the option key and create a new, test library.  Add the files to it.  Do they add?  If yes, then they are readable by iTunes.  Go back to your old library using hte option key thing again.

  • Please help! all albums on ipod not showing in itunes library

    Hi,
I 'd be very grateful if someone could help me please. I have an old ipod nano 4 or 5th gen, sorry not sure which. My problem is that only a few of my albums are showing in itunes although they are all on my ipod. I have tried syncing my ipod many times but it hasn't worked. I have also tried i the summary tab, unticking 'manually manage music and videos', but then get a message 'are you sure you want to manually manage music and videos on your ipod? All existing content on your ipod will be replaced with the contents of your itunes library'. Which I don't want, because only a few of my albums are on my itunes library! I want all the music stored on my ipod to go on to itunes, and I don't know why it dissapeared from itunes in the first place...Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mari.

    Hi!
If iTunes is recognizing that there is music on the device that isn't automatically syncing, do this:
1: Go into the iPod area of iTunes.
    2: Find the Music tab.
    3: Select the unsynced music.
4: Drag the music into the Music part of the iTunes library (should be on the left hand side).
It is probably just not syncing automatically because you haven't told it that you want it to sync. This will fix it.

  • Songs not showing up in library

I imported a few files (m4a extension) into iTunes. They do not show up in the music library but if I create a Smart Playlist to match the names of the files I loaded, it displays those, but only in the smart playlist. Any ideas?

These showed up in the audiobook section.

  • Songs not showing in iTunes

I recently moved my iTunes to a new computer. Everything showed up in iTunes except for an audiobook that was purchased from the iTunes store. It is in the iTunes music folder. It shows the files as protected, but other things that were purchased from the store that also have protection work fine. What are the other reasons that the audiobook wouldn't be importing into iTunes? Could it have anything to do with the fact that the individual pieces of the (unabridged) audiobook are so long, routinely well more than an hour apiece?

Normally there are 4 things - possibly 3 if you never had iTunes 4 - nested in the iTunes folder they are: The path is HD>user>music>iTunes. The following are in the iTunes folder.
    1) iTunes Library - (this is a file)
    2) iTunes Music Library.xml - (this is a file)
3)iTunes Music - (this is a folder)(If you have this I suspect it is empty as you have directed iTunes to an external drive)
    4) Previous iTunes Libraries - (this too is a folder)

  • Impotrted Songs Not Showing in My Library

I'm unable to view certain songs in my ITunes Library that I've imported. The imported songs came from a previously burned CD. Is it possible to import music from previously burned CDs?

Yes, you should be able to import from any Audio CD regardless if it was store bought or burned out of iTunes or from another source.
So what happens when you insert the CD and then hit the import button?

  • Songs not showing up in library after download

I bought some songs on iTunes on my new iPhone 5.  I watched them download, but they aren't showing up in my music library. I turned on "automatic download" and downloaded them again, but no luck.  Any ideas?

I'd appreciate any help that I can get.

Not familiar with that software, but protected AAC files contain DRM protection and can only be played by iTunes or an Apple device.
You can burn to CD and rip back into your library.

I have redeemed gift songs following the instructions in my iTunes emails, and they show up in my iTunes in playlists called Gift from (name); however, none of them appear in my Songs library, and when I sync my iPhone, neither the songs nor the playlists are being sync'd.
