New sony Ericsson V600i isync compatability

Please HELP!
I needed a phone to sync with my contacts. I was first sold a Nokia 9300 Communicator, then I bought a motorola RAZR V3 ( neither worked with isync, as the sales agents had promised) Then I was told this Sony Ericsson V600i would definitly work with my Mac!
They still dont pair up..
Please advize...
Thank you
Andrew

Aha! Here is the answer: it seems that one cannot run the Bluetooth File Exchange app at the same time as iSync, in order for the sync to work properly. I quit the Bluetooth File Exchange and am now happy as Larry.
I hope this helps others.

does anyone know when apple are planning to support the k800i...
since SE sell it as being mac compatible?
    thanks
    g4   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Nobody outside of Apple knows when or if they will update iSync. Currently the are phones over 8 months old still waiting to be officially supported by Apple.
However, you can sync your K800 now using an iSync 2.3 Phone Plugin available from here:
    http://mobile.feisar.com/phoneplugins23.html
You must be using Bluetooth, no Sony Ericsson phones can be synced by USB.
If you don't have Bluetooth in your Mac, you should purchase a D-Link DBT-120 USB Bluetooth Adapter - these are the only ones supported by Apple.

  • Sony Ericsson V600i PC Suite installation

    Some assistance "please":
I have what seems to be an antique in a Sony Ericsson V600i mobile phone and although I can find no information or recognition this phone even exists on the web site, it's operation is perfect and I have no intention to change.
My concern is I cannot "run" a PC Suite on my computer to up and download information from the phone/computer.
The latest Suite I have is version 6.011.00 and when installed it "will not" recognise my V600i. Previous installations of 3.209.00 and 6.009.00 also achieved nothing in respect to recognising the V600i
I am currently running Windows 7 64 bit.
Is the problem me, the "old" V600i or something I am not seeing ?
    Thanks indeed

SE phones usually connect with PC suite in phone/PC USB mode and it sounds that your phone simply isn't compatible with PC suite.
What are the options for USB mode on this phone? You should still be able to transfer files between PC and the phone either via USB connection in "mass storage" USB mode whereby your phone will appear as a separate removable drive,or wirelessly via Bluetooth as long as both your PC and phone are enabled for this.

  • Sony Ericsson K800i limited compatibility

I've tweaked the .plist files to include my K800i (which I've inserted as K800, not K800i), but when I receive an incoming call on my SE and get the pop up window in Address Book to divert to Voice Mail, Log Call, SMS Reply etc., when I click on one of them they do nothing (except for SMS Reply which duly drops down the field for my message). Am I missing something?
    Many thanks, people.

  • Sony Ericsson K800i iSync

I cannot add the Sony ericsson K800i to my iSync - is this because an upgrade needs to be supplied by apple?
    G4   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

My plugin does synchronise all-day events properly.
The problem you have is caused by the Time Zone and Daylight Savings setting in your phone being set incorrectly.
Try putting these settings right and sync again. You'll find that the all-day events sync perfectly.
See here for the same query and solution.

  • How do I sync my new Sony Ericsson K850i?

I've plugged in the USB cable, followed all the instructions, but iSync cant find the device! Have I wasted my money?

You need an iSync Plugin to use the K850i with iSync - it is not natively supported. (Only the phones listed here are currently.)
You can get a suitable plugin from here: http://www.feisar.com/isync_plugins.html
Note that you will need to use Bluetooth to sync the phone, not the USB cable.

  • Sony Ericsson M600i & iSync

This phone is not supported by iSync. Is any way to connect phone and iSync ?
I have more then 200 contacts in MB's Address Book from Nokia E61 and I want to get it on SE... Phone to phone didn't work either...

It wasn't a problem to transfer files,I did it through IR phone to phone, the problem was, that it was not possible to copy all contacts at once to the SIM card...
So,I've done it one by one... Thanks for your time anyways.

  • Sony Ericsson w300i and iSync 2.2

I am the owner or a brand new Sony Ericsson w300i. This is a clamshell model of the popular 'walkman' brand cell phones.
Unfortunately, iSync does not recognize this phone. Does anyone have information on how to add support for this phone, or when an iSync update may support it?
    Thanks.

Replying to my own question. Seems you can get the w300i to work with iSync by following the directions here:
    http://mobile.feisar.com/z530isync22.html
Once you install that plugin, find the MetaClasses.plist file and modify it so that "W300" replaces all occurrences of "Z530". Then start iSync and everything should work (you may have to pair with the phone first).
I believe this works since the W300i is derived from the Z530.

For K810i support you just need an iSync Phone Plugin from here.

  • Sony Ericsson z520a and Mac dialing

Hello, all, looking for some insight. Just got in my Sony Ericsson z520a, replacing my old Siemens S56. I'm very happy with the Bluetooth performance of the z520a, including its compatibility with Salling Clicker, but I've noticed that the one function that I haven't been able to do with this new phone that never gave me a problem with the S56 is dialing from my Mac.
I've tried using Address Book and I've tried using BuddyPop, and neither seems to work. In fact, the functionality within Address Book seems to be parallel with the main bluetooth connection (i.e. if I'm paired, then the Address Book bluetooth toggle doesn't want to turn on).

There is no entry for the Z520 in the address book device command sets. The command sets file is this file:
    /Applications/Address\ Book.app/Contents/Resources/Telephony.bundle/Contents/Resources/ABDeviceCommand Sets.plist
To edit in TextEdit from Terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal), triple click and copy, then paste in Terminal the following:
    open -a textedit /Applications/Address\ Book.app/Contents/Resources/Telephony.bundle/Contents/Resources/ABDeviceCommand Sets.plist
type a return right after <array> and then copy and paste this text at the new blank line:
    <dict>
    <key>ABAnswerPhone</key>
    <string>ata</string>
    <key>ABAnswerWaiting</key>
    <string>at+chld=2</string>

    <key>ABDial</key>
    <string>ATD%@;</string>
    </dict>
and then save and close the file. If Adress Book is running, quit it. Start Address Book and click the Bluetooth icon if it isn't already blue, you may need to accept the incoming connection on your cell phone. This should work for all the new Sony Ericsson phones, K750 W550 W600 W800 W810 W900 Z520

  • Sony Ericsson W960i - Can't Sync

I just purchased the W960i, and I can't find any support or viable plugins so I can sync my Address Book, and iCal. What can I do? I would have purchased the iPhone, but it will not be available in my host country for at least another year. I really need to be able sync for my work. HELP!!!

K800 syncing is still working fine - there are no issues with any iSync updates. Your K800 syncing problems are almost certainly solvable and due to iSync's History needing resetting or some corruption in either your Contacts or Calendars.
The K800 and W960 are completely different phones with a different OS.
So far, no one yet, neither Apple, Sony Ericsson or a third-party has created a fully 100% working for everyone iSync Plugin for any of the new Symbian Sony Ericsson phones, such as the W960, P990, M600, P1i etc.
Sony Ericssons own iSync Plugins for these phones do not work reliably for many, or at all for others.
The W960 Plugin you've found is just a 'hacked' Sony Ericsson P1/P990 one, which is why it suffers from the same issues as the other Symbian-based phones.
Because syncing of these phones is so flaky, unreliable and inconsistent across Macs and different users, that's also why you haven't seen any professional iSync Plugins from any of the usual providers. They're not going to release something that doesn't work 100% at all times and for all users.

  • Sony Ericsson K610i

when will this product be added to isync?

The plugins were free to download during the beta-testing period, if you wish to carry on using the beta version, you can. There's no obligation to buy!
My web-site is something I do in my spare time - however, I do spend a lot of time on it, freely, helping people get the most out of their Sony Ericsson phones. I offer a lot of free stuff for the phones too, and spend many hours per week answering peoples questions via email and the Chat Forum.
However, it does costs me money to maintain the web-site. The monthly hosting and bandwidth isn't free! And as my site has become more and more popular, obviously the bandwidth charges have increased proportionately.
Do you honestly think that £1.49 (~€2.21) is too much to pay for the convenience of being able to sync your phone? Maybe you should take a look at what a company from your home country is offering, (novamedia), who would charge you €10 + 16% tax to obtain their K610 iSync plug-in. Also, they don't offer the option of just buying one plugin for the phone you own, you have to buy the whole package.
You sound like the sort of person who expects everything to be free, but while others are happily syncing their new Sony Ericsson phones, you'll be sat with an under-utilised phone while waiting for a free update from Apple.
But, hey, at least you've saved yourself less than the cost of a beer!!

  • Sony Ericsson Syncing

hi, i just got a new Sony Ericsson K810 and it says its not supported by iSync, i had a search of the forums and someone gave a link to download the plugins here http://www.feisar.com/plugins.html
but i cant find a link to download, and it seems you have to pay?
    thanks very much

I can second MMike70 comments regarding the Feisar plugin.
I purchased them for my K810 whilst on Tiger and I can confirm that regarding the syncing of Addresses and Calendars from my Mac to phone it works without a hitch on Leopard.
The AddressBook enabler is no longer of use as this functionality was removed from AddressBook completely by Apple (what were they thinking of!!!)
However as often happens, the solution I have found (or been pointed towards) I think is better. Point yourself to http://algoritmer.dk/widget/ and download the emitSMS widget.
It works perfectly and means you don't have to have Addressbook open all the time as it seamlessly reads your contacts.

  • Sony Ericsson P990i

Does anyone have an idea of how I can sync my Mac up with my new Sony Ericsson P990i?

Sony Erisssson's P990i have been out quite a while, I remember, before Mac OS 10.4.8 or one version earlier was released, and at that time we thought Apple would include this smart phone in part of its iSync (since a few other phones have been added)
But it did not. I am not sure whether it is because the newer Symbian OS that runs on the P990i is "harder" for Apple to integrate into its iSync app or "something more obvious" (I hope my this post would not be deleted because I said this...) at that time the rumours of an Apple phone was quite hot... so my guess or speculation then was that, Apple was definitely busy coming out with their own cell phone, hence the delay, or maybe the "ignore" of developng iSync capabilities for the P990i
Fast forward to Jan 2007, how true that now the Apple phone is out.
But many have thought that maybe the next OS, Leopard, would enable iSync between the P990i and Apple.
I had the P990i, way before I knew Apple's iSync will not work... after posting and visiting these discussions...
But in the end, I gave the phone up because it wasn't really the one for me. I have switch to a Nokia N80, which if you do a search here, some guy actually wrote a "plug-in" of sort that allows iSync... it was a breeze syncing.
    Cheers
