New source file location

I finally put the time in and set up a new 1TB hard drive = D:   It will be used for all date with all OS/programs on C:
Question: I still have all my picture and video folders on C: and have copied them onto D: What is the best way to let Organizer know that D: is the new source HDD? I plan on deleting the folders on C: after completing this so I don't want to make a mistake.
Thanks, Stan

Thanks John, yes I do still have them all on C:. What you suggest makes sense, I just wanted to make sure before I did anything this time. I also have all my files backed up via Carbonite (.mov's manually indicated).
If anyone has any other specific recommendations, it's appreciated.
I'm curious to know why I just can't "reconnect" Organizer to my existing images/videos on D: now.

  • AS3 classes source file location?

Can anyone tell where the AS3 package source files (*.as) are located?
Besides for looking up class definitions in the AS3 framework in the Actionscript 3 Language Reference site, I'd like to open specific class files to look at them in their entirety. But I can't seem to find them, nor can I find any documentation specifying their location.
Any information on where the core AS3 package files are located locally would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

Well Nick, I think you were right..
The following summarizes add/modify classpaths (as2) and 'source path' (as3) :
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flash/cs/using/WS3e7c64e37a1d85e1e229110db38dec34-7fa4a.html
Under Flash Preferences menu ->ActionScript->Language->ActionScript 3.0 Settings you find at the top level :
Filed labeled "Flex SDK Path : $(AppConfig)/ActionScript 3.0/flex_sdk/4.0.0/"
Found the flex_sdk folder in the Flash application folder (mac), Programs file on PC I imagine.
Therein is a 'flex.swc' file, which I'm guessing has all the core classes.
I'm guessing one needs to download the Flex SDK source code here; you may need to download & learn how to use a Subversion (versioning app) client ?? :
    http://opensource.adobe.com/wiki/display/flexsdk/Flex+SDK
Seems like a lot of hoops to jump through just to access those source files for a beginner.
    Frustrated.

  • Where are all the java source files located at on the server for 11.5.10?

    Hello,
I found the object code file "MOLine.class" under the "/localapps/prodcomn/java/oracle/apps/inv/mo/server" directory on the server. But I simply could not find its source file "MOLine.java". Could someone please tell me where I can find all the java source code on the server? This is for Oracle Apps 11.5.10.
    Regards,
    Smita

An error occured when trying to open the file for reading. Filename: ".\jad\tmp\MOLine.java"
    Current Working Directory: C:\Program Files\Cavaj Java Decompiler\
System error message: The system cannot find the file specified.
C++ exception: ios: failbit setDo you get the same error if you use a directory name which has no space in name?
Question is, when I am trying to decompile MOLine.class to produce MOLine.java, why is it looking for MOLine.java? Most probably because you cannot decompile the class file (I believe if it was possible, Oracle would have provided the java file).

  • Premiere won't accept new source files in slightly different formats...

I'm using CS3 (and I installed CS4 and got the same problem).  I've created a video using six different source videos that were originally encoded in XVID.  I now know that was a bad idea but at the time I didn't know how to convert the video so I went ahead and used them.  Now my project crashes to the desktop whenever I open it without any sort of error message.
This is a project that I started over a year ago and I set it aside because I didn't want to deal with the issue, but I really want to finish this project.  Now I have a better handle on what sort of codecs work well with premiere and I use Super C to convert the videos to a friendly format and I haven't had any problems with my projects crashing since then.
So now I've revisted the project that is crashing and I have tried converting the original source videos to a more friendly format, but hte problem is, even when I get it to a format that is pretty much exactly the same settings as the original (size, fps, etc) premiere won't accept it.  When I open the project and it asks me "Where is the file..." I'll point to the new file and premiere tells me "The selected file cannot be linked because its type (video) does not match original file's type (audio and video)".. I try this after opening the project by right clicking on the asset and choosing "link media..." but of course I get the same error message.
What i've gotten done in the project is like 10 hours worth of work and it would be a shame to lose all of it just because Premiere is too picky about switching from one media type to another .. what are my options in getting this to work?

    Welcome to the forum.
Yes, Xvid is a delivery-only format for delivery-only, but you know that too.
What I would do would be to Open that original Project, and then Offline the original Video. If you named the converted files the same, except for the extension, you should be able to then Import the replacement files and manually replace those. Make sure that when you choose to Offline the Assets, that you do a Save_As, so that the original Project is NOT overwritten - keep it safe.
You might try to Relink from the Project Panel, before you do the Import. I do not know if that will be allowed, due to the extension difference, but that would be the easiest way, if it works. Try that first. With the material Offline, Rt-click on each AV file, and choose Link Media. If you used the same file names, you should be able to find the converted versions. Let us know if this works, or if you get rejected.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Link Event to new source file/move an Event in iMovie 11?

Hi. I would like to change the location where iMovie looks for a certain Event.
Originally, the Project was located on an external hard drive. It wouldn't open, so I copied it over to my internal hard drive on my computer. I also copied the related Event folder from the external hard drive and put it inside my iMovie Events folder on my computer.
Now the Project opens. It looks for the Event on the external hard drive, and loads it up.
For various reasons (see below), I would like to tell iMovie, "Hey, look for this Event here on my computer, instead of the external hard drive." Can this be done?
I cannot, incidentally, go into iMovie and export anything (see below), so if that is the solution, it isn't going to work for me.
    I'm on iMovie '11 9.0.4.
    I'm running OS X 10.6.8 / Snow Leopard

[I have a much bigger problem that is ridiculous, but I'm desperately trying to do this just in case it might help. The bigger problem has been asked about in many places on Apple support community, on blogs, and around the Internet, but is basically a terrible bug that isn't solvable for many people, while others try all kinds of bizarre tricks to attempt to get it to work (some succeed). It involves iMovie saying it doesn't have enough memory to export/share your project, even if you have loads of RAM and available hard drive space.]

I don't know of a way to do it other than the way you are doing it with Reveal In Finder.

  • Can't set new destination file location

Ever since I have had the system, compressor has just sent the compressed files to the Mac hard drive. I have two other drives and I want to send files to them and not clog up my system drive. I have tried to set this in preferences but after doing so I get: cannot submit batch, destination is invalid or write protected.
After reading posts here I have been into presets: destinations and there it shows the drive under custom but says it is an unreachable path.
I would appreciate help to solve this, thank you.
    Pete Snowdon

    Pete:
Look in the nbext turotial linked the title Destinations and you0ll find how to create a custom destination.
    http://www.kenstone.net/fcphomepage/aiff_convertercompressor.html
The tutorial is about creating AIFF custom presets, but the destination oart is the same for any encoding format you choose.
    Hope that helps!

  • NWA - Register New Log Files/Locations

    Hello,
We have some custom developments by our development team in our JavaAs.  Are there some reference materials or pointers on how they should write their logs and traces so that they may be viewed in NWA?  What has to be done in NWA in order to get the logviewer to see the custom logs/traces?
    Thank you for your time.
    John

So, are you saying that if they write their logs to some standard SAP log directories, that they will automatically be viewable in NWA?
Also, I have been reviewing documentation in the development areas of help.sap.com and have found recommendations for them to use SAP Logging API.  That makes me wonder if using that will cause their logs to be available from within NWA.
Thanks for your help so far.

  • How can multiple users work on one source file?

    Hi There,
I'm currently working on a project that I would like to hand-off to another person to finish. I've tried sending the source file located in at: Home>Movie>iMovie Projects but apparently that doesn't work as the second user is unable to work on the project.
Is this achievable? If so, how?
Thank you in advance for any help! It's greatly appreciated =)

    For iMovie 09, you:
You have to plug in an external drive, and within iMovie, drag the project file to the external drive. It will ask you if you want to "copy project" or "copy project and events".
If you want to move the project and not just make a copy, then hold down the Command key while you drag the project file to the external drive.
iMovie 08 does not have the capability of having project files on the external drive, but you can try to manually copy it to the external drive with the finder, and then move the associated events +from within iMovie+ (critical for the other machine to find the files) and when copying the project file to the other computer, it would be critical to find the iMovie project folder in the Movies folder and put it in exactly the same place on the other machine. Otherwise iMovie won't find it.
The way you want to use it, iLife09 might be worth the upgrade, especially if my suggestions don't work.

  • How do I make a new backup file of my current library?

I just finished locating all my music in my C drive (manually & individually!) since 7.7 wiped out my library and I would like to make a completely new backup file location of this library so that all my music is in one location (just in case, for next time). For some reason my music was in like 3 different iTunes music files and it was quite a nightmare switching back and forth.
Is there an easy way to do this? And can I set up iTunes to now automatically backup new music to this new location?
    Thanks

    Nothing automatic within iTunes.
I use a backup program to copy entire itunes folder to another drive. No compression, archiving, or renaming; just a straight copy. Granted, this uses up twice as much space but I feel safer than about being able to get accidentally deleted files back.

  • Xcode not saving source files

    Hi
Has anyone else come across an issue where Xcode doesn't save source files before a build - despite setting the For Unsaved Files preference correctly?
My Java students are using Xcode 3.1.1 to create and build Java Tool projects. We've noticed that we can't modify the default source file for a newly created project, nor can we modify any new source files we add to the project UNLESS we close down and restart Xcode after adding each new file. Specifically, any edits are stored in the file buffers but these are not automatically saved to the hard disc when we trigger a build. However, once Xcode is closed and restarted, all source files in the project behave normally.
Interestingly, the problem doesn't seem to happen with Tool type projects in other languages, however, these projects by default put the source files in the top level of the project folder, whereas all Java projects put the source files one level down in a "src" sub-folder.
Has anyone else noticed these issues with Java projects? Do similar problems occur in other languages if source files are stored in sub-folders? Remember, the problem only exists for newly created files and it's resolved once Xcode is shut down and restarted - unless, of course, we need to add more files.
Anyone got any workarounds which avoid stopping and restarting Xcode?
    Bob
PS: Please don't post comments saying that I should use Eclipse, Netbeans, BlueJ, etc That's not relevant to this discussion.

Thanks briyu. At least you've confirmed that I'm not going mad
As for 3.1.0, that's what the student machines are using and we have the problem there. I wonder why no one else has reported this before? Probably Xcode isn't used very much for Java.

  • Netbeans packages as source files

    Hi,
I noticed that the Composer in NetBeans 6.9 creates (copies) new sources files in the project when some special components are used (like DataSource).
For example if a JDBC data source component is added, several files .fx are added in the project under the package "org.netbeans.javafx.datasrc".
Even if source files are instructive and interesting, I was expecting to have a dedicated components library and not sources file to be compiled.
They just increase compilation time and final jar dimension (compared to a library released with the JVM).
Can someone explain me the benefits of this choice ?
    Grazie,
    Gualtiero

    You wrote:
    c:\jarfiles> jar cfm jarfilename.jar c:\com\packages\
import com.packages.classfilename;What do you notice? The "root" of your JAR is at class level, you forgot to include the directory structure com/packages. So these class files can never be found.
Move your classes to c:\anemptydir\com\packages\ and run
    jar cfm jarfilename.jar c:\anemptydir
(Be aware that the m option also requires you to name a manifest file.)
    Now gimme some dukes.

  • ITunes automatically locating new/modified files?

    1) I'm having troubles with iTunes when I bring in new MP3 to my hard drive that don't come in via iTunes (e.g. buy them from another source or rip them via another application).
Is there a way for iTunes to automatically locate and import these new MP3 files into my library--without me having to manually go through and "import folder" for each one?
I know that Creative's MediaSource Organizer has a "Media Sniffer" functionality. You tell it to keep an eye on a location on your computer (e.g. specific directort), and it periodically checks that directory for changes. If new MP3's appear, it automatically loads them into your library. Can iTunes do this?
    2) Same problem when I modify a file (e.g. move a file from one directory to another on my machine). Is there a way for iTunes to automatically realize that a file in the Library has changed--and make the adjustments accordingly?
I don't want to have to walk through iTunes and delete each existing file...and then re-import them from the new location. Shouldn't iTunes be smarter than this?
I believe Creative Media Organizer also checks if any current library files have been modified (e.g. changed directories), and if so, it automatically adjusts. Can iTunes do this?
    Appreciate any help. Thanks.
    Greg

Unfortunately, iTunes doesn't have either of these features.
It's been brought up before and all I can do is suggest that you submit your suggestions by filling out the Request Music form (which is used for general iTunes feedback as well).

  • Where the default location of generated source files?

    Hello!
In my processor I create several source files and check it's names for existance before
private String genClassName( final String packageName, final String key, final String suffix )

            final Elements elementsUtil = processingEnv.getElementUtils();

            while( elementsUtil.getTypeElement( suggest ) != null )
                suggest.append( i++ );
            return suggest.substring( packageName.length() );
}If I not define -s option for javac at first time compile and then set it to some location, then some generated before files are visible for this method and numbers added.
So, the question: where to find a default "shadow" source tree to clean up it before next compilation with changed -s option?
Sorry for my english and thanks for answers
    Edited by: Maxoid2 on Jun 3, 2008 10:34 PM

The directory to clean up is where the -s option pointed to last time.
The simplest way to do this is to always use the -s option and don't change it. Using the default value for -s option (which is the same as -d) tends to lead to problems. I always specify -s option, and make it different to -d option and -sourcepath.
If you do this you don't even have to clean it up, javac only looks in there for files that it placed there. Files from previous builds get overwritten. Files from previous builds that are not overwritten are ignored.
with a separate -s directory, it just works.

  • Automatically run integration procedure when new csv source file arrives

    Hello,
I have some steps to integrate my data defined as steps in odi package. All data will be loaded from csv file, located in source directory. End users will have smb acces to this folder end they will able to place new csv (with valid, defined name) to this folder. So, odi should check periodically if new file arrived and if new file found - my packege should be executed. Or alternatively - package can run periodically and perform check if source file exists if so, data from it should be integrated.
What is the best way to do this?

I would do a package starting with an ODIWaitForFile step ;).
You can find this tool in the toolbox on the left.
