New! Spry Developer Center Homepage!

I hope you will all click over to the new Spry Developer Center Homepage: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/spry.html.
We have worked very hard to create a central info center for all things Spry.
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced user, you will find something here of interest.
I especially commend David Powers's new tutorial,
Styling and inserting a Spry Menu Bar 2.0 widget with the Adobe Widget Browser
at http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/spry_menu_bar.html.
Try it; you'll like it!

Tommy,
Yes, you should be able to web-enable the whole thing. What type of functionality are you looking to add? Oracle9iAS Wireless provides a way to view your application from any mobile deviceif you would like to have a mobile browser UI to your app. You can use JDeveloper to get started and test your application with device simulators: http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/htdocs/partners/addins/exchange/iaswireless/content.html (This includes a small footprint dev environment for Oracle9iAS Wireless).
Another area that I think you could enhance is other alert channels, such as voice alerts or SMS alerts. As I understand, you currently only have email alerts. This tutorial will show you how to use the alerting/messaging Web service to add this functionality see the Live Web Service for Mobile Messaging on otn.oracle.com/mobile.
Lastly, this area should give some information on the process and some tools to build wireless apps: http://otn.oracle.com/tech/wireless/appdev/content.html

  • SAP In-Memory Developer Center - planned downtime 2011-11-15, 10-11am PST

    Dear HANA DevCenter users,
I want to inform you about a maintenance downtime scheduled for Tuesday, Nov 15, 10am to approximately 11am PST (19:00 - 20:00 CET).
We will upgrade the HANA Sandbox systems to version 1.00.20.355749, the SPS3 ramp-up release. This will fix the problems with non-visible tables/attributes in views some users have reported, as well as introduce new features (details to be published).
Along with the server update, we will also release a new cloudshare.com image with the updated client drivers and HANA studio. When you logon to your cloudshare environment after the update, you will be offered to "revert" to the new snapshot. This will overwrite all changes you made to your current image, so make a conscious decision...
If you want to upgrade your HANA studio yourself, you can do this already now by following these steps:
    - From the main menu in HANA Studio, choose Help -> Install New Software
    - Click the Addu2026 button in the top right corner
    - Assign any name for the new update repository and file:////hanasvr-01/hdbstudio_update as location (you should see a list of entries now)
    - Click the link What is already installed? in the bottom right corner
    - Select u201CSAP HANA Studiou201D and click the Updateu2026 button
As always, please let us know about any problems on this forum or via email to inmemorydevcenter AT sap.com
    --Juergen

    Hi DevCenter users,
The Systems are back and upgraded to SPS3. We have released a new cloudshare image - when you logon to cloudshare, you will be prompted to "revert to current snapshot" by a red page header. Please revert to the latest snapshot if you want to use the new Studio and Client, but be aware that reverting to a new snapshot will invalidate all local changes you have applied to your desktop. This includes installations of frontend tools, files you saved to the cloudshare desktop and your system connections in HANA. So please backup your data before reverting and have your HANA credentials handy
    Here's the new features:
    - HANA DB, Studio and Client drivers upgraded to 1.00.20.355749 (SPS3)
    - Installed SBOP Analysis MS Office (aka AAO) 1.2
    - We've added an FTP server to our environment to make it easier and faster for you to upload data to the server. Upload your CSV/CTL files to ftp.sapdevcenter.com - please create a subdirectory for your username to avoid name clashes. Once data is uploaded to the ftp server, you can LOAD FROM '/dropbox/<your subdirectory>/<your file>'
Don't hesitate to ask any questions here, or via email to sapdevcenter AT sap.com

  • Digital Publishing Suite Developer Center launched...

For interested parties Adobe just launched the Digital Publishing Suite Developer center located here http://www.adobe.com/devnet/digitalpublishingsuite.html. There's lots of great information on this site for DPS users including TIps, tricks, lists of new features, bug fixes, sample code, tutorials and white papers. Take a peek and learn something new about DPS.

    Nice.
But will they be keeping up with the fairly rapid process/workflow changes that Adobe implements?  There's already a slew of videos out there - at Adobe TV and a slew of other places - in which info is woefully out of date.

There are Adobe places and a phone number.  There is even a Photoshop family feedback site http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/ .  There is one main number for Adobe that is use for all things Adobe.
Does Adobe care?  Adobe is a corporation not a living organism.  I like to believe that some Adobe employees care however they are tied up by Adobe Management which wants  money not the cost of good support.
When Microsoft first started its software was the pits Bill Gates was is a great salesman and kept selling the world bugs and had employees working on bugs and doing new things. Their software became better much better. Adobe could learn from what Bill has done and has been saying.  IMO Photoshop though still evolving its quality is going down hill.
According to a report I read Bill Gates  told Rolling Stone that he identifies as a coder “down in the bowels and the architecture,” made his fortune with software, going back to the company’s first product, Altair BASIC, for interpreting the BASIC programming language, back in 1975. According to the report, since then,  Bill Gates has grown to perceive all the world’s problems as advanced coding problems, solvable by removing the bugs.

  • I have 3dparty software wirelessly with a cryptographic authentication system without my consent (seems to be new technology developed by stanford) obtaining ownership of my iPhone 4s software and controlling it with remote device to jail break. Now what?

I have 3rd party software wirelessly injected and used on my iphone with a cryptographic authentication system without my consent (seems to be new technology developed by stanford and apple security is not updated for this technology) obtaining ownership of my iPhone 4s software and controlling it with remote device to jail breaking my phone, adding and removing software, changing settings all from a remotely controled device from different location (I have a Mac address I'd of this device to know for sure). Almost undetectable. When I look at the legal section of my phone it shows a list of all the unauthorized 3rd party software "as is" copyright encrypted on the phone.  This is the most basic way to legally steal software of any kind.  Because of this legalality 3rd party ownership have total control of certain software correlated with hardware use including visualization technology, etc.  most people luckily will never have this happen to them so it's unlikely many readers have not a clue of what I'm saying currently.  Either way, without needing to obtain specific warranty of any kind "as is" copyright control makes system restores not a solution because the source code is not directly encrypted on the actual hardware device only a copy right notice must appear on the specific device 3rd party software validation making it extremely difficult for me to take control of the situation. Apple claims their iOS technology prevents this type copyright obstruction from being possible, however, according to my phone a new form of technology was used developed by Tom wu of Stanford university called the STANFORD SRP AUTHENTICATION TECHNOLOGY which uses Some form of cryptographic authentication system and uses quote "secure remote password" which seems to suceed in hacking iOS apple technology apple claims is not possible to jailbreak an unstolen phone or without the owners consent As well as loading the device with 3rd party copyright Notices to make all of this legalized. My phone shows atleast 30 pages worth of legalized 3rd party copyright permissions! Yesterday my apple care provider labeled me a jailbreaker and refused to look at my legal documented proof which completely blew my mind because it voides my apple care contract I spent 100 on. This employee did not take all factors into consideration and made quick assumptions as well as verbally speaking to me as I'm an automatic criminal. I left the store yesterday with no payed insurance help on a problem I had no control over and couldn't prevent, leaving with voided contracts. This is an apple users worst nightmare and I have spent days researching all of this like i am some kind of lawyer only to be able to use my phone the way it should and spent alot of money on.  I can legally backup any claim I have just wrote above currently and have a large source of data collected to prove apple is wrong in voiding insurance support on this issue. The problem lies in apple avoiding and not wanting to believe their software can legally be obtained ot "hacked". Yet still labeled a jailbreaker basically.. What should I do????? Been to local apple store 3 times and rebooted my phone as well sprint service restore 4 times and spoke with reps twiice on the phone. Spoke with my phone provider who said apple has full control over these matters so they can't help me.  My case is according to apple "still open"...Anyone else heard of this or of Stanford's office of technology licensing? Maybe I need to buy a blackberry again or just use a landline so I can stop being my own lawyer and focus on other productive areas in life instead of this horrible mess. I shouldn't have to prove to apple I not a jailbreaker they should have to prove I'm one before voiding support I desperately need!!

I assume u guys don't understand what open source software is
Yes, I think most of us do understand what open source software is. It sounds as if you don't. Here's some information:
Open-source software (OSS) is computer software that is available in source code form: the source code and certain other rights normally reserved forcopyright holders are provided under an open-source license that permits users to study, change, improve and at times also to distribute the software.
Open source software is very often developed in a public, collaborative manner. Open-source software is the most prominent example of open-sourcedevelopment and often compared to (technically defined) user-generated content or (legally defined) open content movements.
    from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_source_software
Yes, Tom Wu of Stanford wrote a paper on something called Secure Remote Access Protocol. It's a form of Asymetric Key Exchange and has nothing to do with hacking anything. It's actually intended to protect data.

  • Problems logging into Macintosh Developer Center with iPhone 3G?

I know it sounds as if I'm doing something stupid (and I may be), but despite using currently valid id and password (I checked on my computer browser just now) I can't log into the Mac Developer Center via my iPhone. I'm an iPhone newbie -- so maybe I'm just missing something -- but feel I'm doing everything the same as in my Mac's browser. Is there a technical or other issue that's preventing me from logging in?
    Thanks

PS. I know this sounds kind of stupid, as if I were just sort of clueless -- but I just can't log in despite currently valid user name and password.
Is there a technical/security reason I can't log in via iPhone?

  • Creation of New Custom Development Object in Solar02

    Hi,
We are trying to create an object type of Form for a new custom development object in solar02 under tab Development, and for this I get an error that the object doesn’t exist in development environment.
Based on my analysis, it looks like Solution Manager only allows to link pre-existing development objects but not creating new objects.  Is that right?  If  not please advice how can we add new custom objects through solution manager.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sandeep Alapati

    hi,
solar01/02 is the tools for documenation, it is not for creating objects.
basically it should allow you to enter any developement objects names, irerespective of whether they are created in the back end system or not.
    please provide the screenshots.
    Thanks

  • Var ds = new Spry.Data.XMLDataSet ...

    how many ( var ds = new Spry.Data.XMLDataSet ... ) can be
used simultaneously in the same page? It has some
    recommendation?

We have some pages that have 8-10 data sets. It seems to
    handle it quite well.
Much depends on the amount of data coming into the data sets
and the complexity of the page. You will have to test and see if it
works for you. There is no set limit to the number of data sets.
If your data sets have identical URLS, it will only make a
single call for the data and then it will create the data sets from
    that one request.
    Does this help?
    Thanks,
    Don

  • New "SQL Developer Team Announcements" sticky note

In the new SQL Developer Team Announcements sticky note posted a couple of days ago:
<li>Is "SQL Developer Team Announcements" the right title? It appears to be hard enough to get people to read these things anyway, and this suggests that it's either targetted at the SQL Developer Team, or contains information about them.
<li>The SQL Developer Exchange link for Enhancement Requests links to the sticky note, not the Exchange Feature Requests page.
<li>Suggest using "Forum Tips" or some other alternative instead of "Forum Etiquette": "etiquette" too obscure a term?
<li>"When asking a question, provide all the details that someone would need to answer it.": Can these be spelled out? e.g. SQL Developer version, DB version, Java version, OS etc.

Sue, thanks for the prompt attention.
3 sounds good: News, Posting Guidelines, and a FAQ for the rest? (sorry, I'd lump "collateral" in with "etiquette" as clarity goes).
    A FAQ with Qs like:
    <li>How do I report bugs?
    <li>Where do I request enhancements?
    <li>Where can I find extensions?
may be the best way to handle the "collateral" as it can retain the same (easily understood title) whilst being extendable to cover virtually anything.
As an example, I think Mark Drake has handled this well on the {forum:id=34} forum.

  • NEW GL profit center report in Controlling area currency

    Hi all,
    Could anybody suggest me,
how do we have the New GL profit center  report in controlling area currency.
or else if any possibility for report painter report please suggest.
    Thanks
    kishore

    Hi Kishore
New GL PCA values are stored in FAGLFLEX* tables.
These are FI tabls and they store values in 1st 2nd and 3rd currency of FI. If your control area current is same as anyof these, you can access report in that currency
Else, you can do the conversion inside your report using a static exchange rate

  • New Spry Widgets Released

    Hi All,
I know that we have been remiss in keeping up with our
    ambitious release schedule.
As I mentioned earlier, we were shooting for a full new
release this month but didn't have the time.
Well, we decided to do a 'light launch' for our new Spry
    widgets.
We have posted our new Spry widgets and 2 new beta docs here:
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/samples/preview.html
As you can see we have:
    - Menu Bar
    -Collapsible Panel
    -Tabbed Panel
    - Form Text Field
    - Form Text Area
    - Form Select
    - Form Checkbox
    - Tabbed Panel doc
    - Collapsible Panel doc
As I say there, we are releasing these in this manner because
they are mostly done, but we don't have complete docs for
everything. Once we have full docs and some updates for data, we
will make a new zip and release Spry 1.4.
For now, you can check out these samples and play around with
    them.
Let us know what you think.
We also added a new demo here:
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/demos/formsvalidation/
Hope you like the new stuff.
    Thanks,
    The Adobe Spry Team

    Hi John,
So the thinking on that is this:
They are widgets because they are pieces of markup that
encapsulate advanced functionality. The actual validation is the
major part of the funtionality, but the actual widget is the span
tag container, the input itself, and then additional markup for the
messages. Basic mark-up, style with CSS and a constructor
    script=Spry Widget.
As for structure, the 'widgets' folder is where we keep the
latest versions of the real thing. All required widgets resources,
like CSS and JS, plus the basic example file, go in the 'widgets'
    folder.
The 'samples' directory is where we put samples that explain
or add onto the basic widget. This is more of a playing around
    area.
But we reference the dependent files in the 'widgets'
directory so that we only need to have one copy of the files on the
site and in the zip. This helps ensure that every sample is working
    off the same files.
But for you guys, it makes it a pain to get all the required
source files, I know. I was thinking of zipping the new samples and
putting them up so it's easier to download the new stuff.
    Make sense?
    Thanks,
    Don

  • No notifications in ESP Developer Center

    Hello,
I am following the ESP Developer Center and I have email notifications turned on.  I am not getting an email notification when a customer posts a question to the forums.  For example, this question was posted three days ago and I have not received a notification so I don't know to go out and answer their questions:
File/Hadoop CSV input : Discovery of file fails
This happened at the beginning of the year and I turned off the email notifications and turned them back on and that seemed to work for awhile but it doesn't seem to be helping now.
    Thanks,

    Hello Neal,
Instead of following, select "Track in Communications" from the actions box on http://scn.sap.com/community/developer-center/esp
Then go to http://scn.sap.com/user-preferences!input.jspa and set "Everything in my Communications page" to "On."
Alternatively, you can select "Receive email notifications" from the actions box instead.
