New swipe photo feature in Messages produces blurry photos
On my phone 6, it seems like every time I've tried to send a photo through the new Messages swipe feature, they come out very blurry. It could be because I'm doing this with one hand and the swipe is causing the phone to jerk, but thought I'd see if anyone else was experiencing this too.
What makes this a neat feature is that I don't have to use two hands to hold still, just curious if I'm doing it wrong.

supposedly a new list for photos is to appear under my apple tv in devices. all of the previous ones are there (music, tv shows, podcasts, etc) but no photos
Devices only show in this list when they sync with itunes, streaming devices don't show in this list. But you are essentially correct we seem to be missing the option in itunes to turn on photo streaming, we are all looking, I'd wondered if it only appears during the process of registering the tv with itunes.

There are several reasons a photo might be blurry. It might be out-of-focus, the iPad or subject might have been moving when the photo was taken, or the blur might actually be noise resulting from not having enough light.
Try taking a photo of a fixed object 3 or 4 feet away with a lot of light, with the iPad propped against something solid. If you still get a blurry image, you may have a defective iPad and should contact Apple about it. If you can demonstrate the problem to an Apple Store Genius, you may get a new iPad on the spot.

I have tried to just install the new version of itunes from the apple website, it looks like it downloads but after 5 minutes at the end of the install it says 'old version of itunes cannot be uninstalled, please contact support.'?
Is there anyway I can remove the version of itunes from my computer? i dont mind if i lose the music/content I already have on my itunes. I need to do this as i have just received the iphone 4 and need to install the newest version of itunes.

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.) -
I updated my iPad to 7.0.6 but I find the new look very irritating. In mail I can no longer swipe left on a message to erase it. The font in calendar is so small I can't read my appointments. I happen to like the yellow paper that was in notes. Can any of these preferences be adjusted?
You have to swipe from right to left to delete mail.
In the settings, accessibility you can make fonts bolder, that helps a bit.
THe yellow paper...sorry, no tweak for that unless you find a different notes app to use. -
I'm using LR5.7 on a Mac Mini running Mavericks and when I attempt to import a folder of new RAW photos from my external drive into my catalog instead of seeing a preview of each thumbnail photo I see the following message displayed: "Preview Unavailable for this file." If I highlight any other folder of photos the previews are all there. What is the likely reason for these previews being unavailable? JohnnyCam

I cannot receive mail after i sent a large photo. A new folder appeared called "recovered messages" with the over 100 recovered emails of the same email of the one i sent out. i have read apple support and done everything they suggest. Help!

ThanksI had this problem to but I figured it out. Basically the photos are there because your photos on your computer are synced into your phone differently, not sure how it works. But plug in your phone to your computer, open itunes, click on your phone, go to photos and uncheck the "Sync Photos from:" Option at the top. A message should pop up asking whether you want to keep or remove the photos already on your phone. Click remove, and there you go

New app "Photos" can't edit a photo in another application
new app "Photos" doesn't allow user to edit a photo in another application. iPhoto allows me to edit a photo in Photoshop.

New and Persistent MobileMe Error Message
A new and persistent MobileMe Error Message keeps hounding me. No troubles since the demise of MobileMe until lately. Please see the attached photo.
So far, I've deleted all references to MobileMe within my Keychain, re-checked my information in Apple Mail my "Mac.com/Me.com" account, gone to System Preferences to make sure the old MobileMe options (member name and password) are blank ... I'm OS-maxed-out at Snow Leopard, and deleted all plist files with references to MobileMe.

Being IMAP, you should be able to delete that account, but for safety I'd backup at least your Mail.
You cannot use .mac or MobileMe as type of Account, you have to choose IMAP when setting up, otherwise Mail is hard coded to change imap.mail.me.com to mail.me.com & smtp.mail.me.com to smtp.me.com, no matter what you try to enter.
iCloud Mail setup, do not choose .mac or MobileMe as type, but choose IMAP...
On second step where it asks "Description", it has to be a unique name, but you can still use your email address.
IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
• Server name: imap.mail.me.com
• SSL Required: Yes
• Port: 993
• Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
• Password: Your iCloud password
SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:
• Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
• SSL Required: Yes
• Port: 587
• SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
• Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
• Password: Your iCloud password
Also, you must upgrade your password to meet the new criteria: 8 characters, including upper and lower case and numbers. If you have an older password that does not meet these criteria, when you try to setup mail on your mac, using all of the IMAP criteria listed above, it will still give a server error message. Go to http://appleid.apple.com then follow directions to change your password, then go back to setting up your mail using the IMAP instructions above.

We have a Sun MQ JMS provider which provides us destinations. The process is something like this:
1. There is a queue, where a message is posted.
2. I have a java consumer, which listens on this queue. (via JNDI lookup).
3. I do some processes and based on the status (success or failure) i put a response message in a different queue(Q2).
4. This Q2 is obtained from the JMS message header (getJMSReplyTo()).
5. sender = session.createSender(Q2);
sender.send(msg, javax.jms.DeliveryMode.PERSISTENT, message.getJMSPriority(), getLifetime());6. message is the textMessage obtained from Q1.
7. In a finally block, i am calling sender.close(); The session is still open and will be used for the next message received from Q1.
All is well and good, except for the fact that number of producers on Q2 is getting accumulated for every send() call. The sender.close() is executed(i debugged in eclipse and no JMS exception for the close() call).
The problem here is in the JMS provider, we have a limitation of 100 producers on Q2. Since every send() call leaves a producer on Q2, after 100 replies, i am getting an error on the SunMQ side "producer cannot be added to the queue. Limit of 100 producers will be exceeded".
This results in a JMS Exception during the session.createSender(Q2) line.
I don't know what i am missing here, and i am pretty new to JMS (as you might have imagined by now).
Do we have to explicitly close the session also along with the sender.close() or do we have to do anything other than closing the sender ?

The standard JMS API, doesn't say anything about the close() operation. It must be implementation specific, in your case SunMQ,
You should be getting into the API and look for the details on what the close() method actually does, whether it really destroys the message producer or not

Create a Connection and Session
Create a MessageConsumer
Create a MessageProducer
Create message/s
Send message/s
Receive message/s synchronously or asynchronously
Exit Session and Connection
Wonder why you would like to have a new Producer each time, but that depends on you and your requirement :)

New MX922 Photo Quality is Poor. Have tried different photo paper nothing helps.
My new MX922 photo quality is terrible. Have tried different photo paper stock same results.
Have tried several photos checking my setting for the best quality print. My Pixma 640 prints photos just fine. Trying to sell it but, may have too hold onto it if I can't get this resolved.
Prints documents just fine.

First, please make sure that the installed ink tanks are correct and full of ink. The correct order is:
CLI-251M magenta
CLI-251BK black
CLI-251Y yellow
PGI-250BK black
CLI-251C cyan
Next, please print the nozzle check pattern to determine whether the ink is ejecting properly from the print head. To do this, please follow these steps:
1. Make sure that the machine is turned on.
2. Load a sheet of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in the Auto Sheet Feeder or the Cassette.
3. Open the Paper Output Tray and then open the Output Tray Extension.
4. To print the nozzle check pattern:
4-1. Press the MENU button.
4-2. Press the Setup button.
4-3. Select Maintenance, then press the OK button. The Maintenance screen is displayed.
4-4. Select Print nozzle check pattern and then press the OK button. The pattern print confirmation screen is displayed.
4-5. Select Yes and then press the OK button.
The nozzle check pattern is printed and the pattern confirmation screens are displayed alternately. Please compare your printout to the example that has been attached to this message.
If they differ, perform a few cleanings. Please perform the following steps to perform a Cleaning:
1. Press the MENU button.
2. Press the Setup button.
3. Select Maintenance then press the OK button.
4. Select Cleaning and press OK.
5. Press OK to select Yes.
The cleaning will be performed. After 2 or 3 cleanings, print another test page.
Does the test page print correctly?

Save Current Frame produces blurry stills, but didn't before
10.10.1 - final cut pro 10.1.2 - File > Share > "Save Current Frame" produces blurry stills now, jpg and psd. the source is not blurry (as i look at the frames in the Project window). i've done this for years on FCP and got acceptable results. any tips if i accidentally changed some preference. my source are imported old MiniDV tapes stored in default FCP library.

THANK YOU! in 1999 i was a windoz user and i wanted to make some movies. windoz required me buying special "media disks", special software, extra powerful mother board... and a friend in the media business said, "get the new imac dv with imovie 1". for the next 5 years i made incredible movies using the sony mini dv tapes and mac. people thought i was a professional but the simplicity of the imac dv was the genius (and it's creators). i started using fcp a few years back always made frame stills, i've never had a problem and never heard of "interlacing" until tom's post above. i don't think i just set this as a default? and i don't know why anyone would want interlacing if it makes your still frames/movies blurry LOL! i can read up on it later.

Some new "hidden" Leopard features

I usually use gmail but tried the new Apple Mail features and in doing so, I have sent 13 versions of a message to a few people. It sends out at various times while I am typing the message. I thought it was just my Macbook Pro but I am having the same issue on my MacPro as well. The only difference is that one doesn't send out as many premature emails.

I am having serious issues trying to alter my old iCloud account with an old non-functioning email to my new apple id with a new email address. The message keeps coming up on all my apple products with my old email (which is not available anymore).
I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account. I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there. On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back. Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email. The device is currently useless.
The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option? -
When my husband set up his new iPhone I read a message wrong when it popped up on my phone and now our messaging is synced. Is it because we have the same apple ID? Do we need to change that?
Yes, its best to have each individual apple ids. You can also go to settings, messages, send and recieve, start new conversation from, make sure there is a check mark beside each of your own individual email, not the same one on each phone.
