New Symbol Next To Battery Symbol

I have a 'new' symbol located next to my battery indicator symbol and it is not listed under general - location services .... in other words it does not match up to any of my applications using my location ... which is what I thought at first from another posting & answers ....
Does anyone else have such a symbol? And what is it?
It looks like a old style desk phone .... an arch/handset over two rows of dots ....
Thanks for any information .... it is greatly appreciated.
Also .... awoke this morning to discover that ALL of my contacts (address book were gone) and I use MobileMe .... had to restore from my time machine .... could this somehow be linked?
weird heh?
Thanks in advance ....

    After the upgrade to 3.0.1 there is a new icon that appears to be a phone handset above buttons and it is next to the battery % in the top right of the screen.
    Any idea what it is? I turn on airplane mode to see if it related to the phone and nothing changed.
    Thanks

    What symbol on screen top next to battery that looks like a house or old phone ?
    I' can't find the Celular data even thought I did the network reset!

    It appears that you have turned on TTY, which is what is used for telephone calls for the deaf. Go into Settings>Phone>TTY>OFF.

  • On phone next to battery symbol there is a "closed lock with an arrowed circle around it"  does anyone know what this is and how to correct it.

    on my I phone next to battery symbol there is a "locked lock surrounded by aa circled arrow"  does any one know what this is for?

    drsoif, this is the Portrait Orientaion Lock, which means you locked your phone in a way for it not to have landscaping mode. To correct this you will need to: double tap your home button and swipe to the right, first icon will be the icon with the ''arrow'' going in a circle, tap on it once and the lock will disappear:)

  • A new symbol appeared on my ipad. It has a lock in the middle of nearly complete circle whose line ends with an arrow. Any ideas what this symbol is?

    A new symbol has appeared on my ipad 2.  It resides to the left of the battery level indicator in the upper right corner.  It is a locked lock symbol with an arrow that forms an incomplete circle around the lock.

    If you see a lock icon in the upper right corner of the screen - then the screen orientation is locked.
    Try the side switch above the volume rocker first and see if that unlocks the screen. If that doesn't do it, double tap the home button and swipe to the right and look for the lock icon all the way to the left.

  • New icon next to the battery....never seen it before

    Hi
    I noticed today that my iphone has a new icon next to the battery meter at the top right hand corner of the screen.
    The icon looks like a phone handset with 2 rows of button under it.
    I have looked at all my setting and can't figure out how to make it go away or how it got there.
    Does anyone know what this is or anyone have the same icon?

    TTY, also known as Text Telephone Device or Telecommunication Device for the Deaf (TDD), is a special device required at both ends of the conversation that enables people who are deaf, hard of hearing, or speech-impaired to use the telephone to communicate. TTY works by allowing people to type messages back and forth to one another instead of talking and listening.

  • Where are the new symbols?

    Yesterday during the live event introduction of Adobe Creative Cloud, one of the team members (can't remember which one) said that there were new symbols included in our membership. He was demonstrating the updated microphone in Photoshop and also for Illustrator. Where are they? I went to add-ons and all I could find was a download for $39.99. Does anyone know where they are?

    gone... bad improvement...

  • Copying a symbol -- create new symbols?

    Alright, so say I have a movie clip, whose name is "A". This
    clip contains a graphic, named "B". Now, there are two things I
    want to do: the first is copy the movie clip as a new symbol and
    then edit the graphic in this new symbol. Ok, so I do that special
    "Copy to new instance" or whatever feature (the name escapes me)
    and it will now paste a movie clip called "A copy" or some name
    like that. However, this symbol "A copy" will still contain the
    graphic "B", and so I won't be able to edit "B" for only "A copy".
    The "B" in both A and "A copy" will change.
    So I ask, is there a copy function that will create a new
    symbol for A and also create new symbols for all the objects inside
    A? (i.e. in the example this copy function would give me a movie
    clip called "A copy" containing a graphic called "B copy)

    in addition to david - duplicate A and B - then you can edit
    either one without effecting the originals.

  • Is it possible to avoid dependencies on too new symbols in libCstd.so?

    Hello,
    I'd like to know if it's possible to somehow tell the Solaris linker to avoid
    using the symbols with versions newer than the given one. E.g. on my
    snv_111b OpenSolaris system there are a couple of symbols with SUNW_1.4.2
    version:
    % pvs -o -s -C -d /usr/lib/libCstd.so.1|fgrep SUNW_1.4.2|c++filt
    /usr/lib/libCstd.so.1 - SUNW_1.4.2: bool std::operator==<char,std::char_traits<char>,std::allocator<char> >(const std::basic_string<__type_0,__type_1,__type_2>&,const __type_0*);
    /usr/lib/libCstd.so.1 - SUNW_1.4.2: bool std::operator==<char,std::char_traits<char>,std::allocator<char> >(const __type_0*,const std::basic_string<__type_0,__type_1,__type_2>&);These symbols are not present in libCstd.so on the customers Solaris 10
    machines so I'd like to ensure that they are not used in the libraries which I
    build. Unfortunately I couldn't find any clean way to ensure this. In fact the
    only way I did find was to edit /opt/sunstudio12.1/prod/include/CC/Cstd/string
    and to comment out the declarations of these operators there. Which is not
    only dirty and unmaintainable but also actually more than I need to do
    because, as these operators are inline, most often they're indeed inlined and
    it's not a problem to use them. It's only a problem to depend on these (too
    new) symbols in the library.
    So the question is whether I can somehow coax the linker to give an error
    when these symbols are used?
    Thanks in advance for any ideas!

    when these symbols are used?I guess you can - with a bit of a hack. You an probably use a map file telling linker to use only version SUNW_1.4.1 (or whatever version your client machines' have). This way you'll get errors about missing definitions up front:
    $ cat mapfile
    libCstd.so - SUNW_1.1.1 $ADDVERS=SUNW_1.1.1;
    $ CC -M mapfile  a.cc
    Undefined                       first referenced

    std::string::~basic_string() a.o  (symbol belongs to unavailable version /export/opt/sunstudio12.1/lib/sparc/libCstd.so (SUNW_1.2))
    std::basic_ostream<__type_0,__type_1>&std::operator<<<char,std::char_traits<char>,std::allocator<char> >(std::basic_ostream<__type_0,__type_1>&,const std::basic_string<__type_0,__type_1,__type_2>&) a.o  (symbol belongs to unavailable version /opt/sunstudio12.1/lib/sparc/libCstd.so (SUNW_1.2))
    void std::string::__unLink() a.o  (symbol belongs to unavailable version /opt/sunstudio12.1/lib/sparc/libCstd.so (SUNW_1.2))
    ld: fatal: Symbol referencing errors. No output written to a.outSee Linker and Libraries Guide, section "Binding to Additional Version Definitions" (http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-0690/chapter5-81344?l=en&a=view) for explanation and an example.

    How can I edit my website from another computer? and how can I create a new website next to the one, I already have? Can anyone help, please?

    Move the domain.sites file from one computer to the other.
    The file is located under User/Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites.  Move this file to the same location on the other computer and double click and iWeb will open it.  Remember, it is your User Library that you want and not your System Library, as you will not find iWeb there.
    Just create a new site on the same domain file and it will appear below the other site.  If you want them side by side then duplicate your domain file and have one site per a domain file and they can then be side by side.

  • New tab next to current tab

    ok so... why has the simple process of browsing the web been made so damn annoying ?
    i want to open a new tab next to a current tab and what do i have to do for this to happen ?
    1) i see if there is any option for it in the options - there is nothing
    2) i type in about:config and see if can find anything there - nothing
    3) i go to google and search for some answers - nothing (the thread is probably closed)
    4) i register an account to post a replay - nothing (the thread is closed - http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/926633)
    5) i have to look for a place where i could post a new thread and ask why is that thread closed where i could easilly have posted my question
    6) so - how do i make it happen without installing any special addons and why has this process been made so damn annoying ?
    /firefox 33.1, win7
    (i already installed that addon and now also updated ff, so lets see if anything changes)

    ##Support threads that are over 6 months old are automatically locked by the forum software, as with that thread which was started in May of 2012. As of very recently, Google shouldn't be indexing locked support threads here any more. I don't know how quickly that takes effect. Sorry for your inconvenience.##
    my only inconvenience is the fact that you are trying to remove the whole point of having a google search engine and the freedom of the internet in the first place - why are the threads closing automatically without any automatic option to re-open them to add to a discussion on the free interwebz ?
    tabmix plus is even more annoying because it wants to make the tabs look pointlessly "fancy" and you need to go through 15 pages of options to get the normal visual back (if its even possible)
    i did set that preference to false, but it did not change anything (it was true before)
