New syncing problem

My ipod has recently started not syncing. Itunes recognises the ipod being there and tries to sync with it but the ipod doesn't sync. The only time I've been able to get the ipod to sync is after a restore but then the same thing happens the next time I try, I've also reinstalled itunes but that also hasn't made a difference. Please help!

I'm having the same problem but am afraid to hit the restore button and not be able to put anything back on my ipod. Were you able to put your music, pictures, etc. back on your nano after you restored the factory settings?

  • Strange new syncing problem

Syncing has never been an issue until last week.
My ATV is synced to my MacBook Pro. Last week when I switched on the MBP and opened iTunes it started to sync, but strangely instead of showing my ATV content at approx. 100GB it showed it to be only approx. 20GB and was trying to sync 1,750+ files to the Apple TV. This didn't make any sense as a) I hadn't changed any settings and b) the only new content on the MBP was a couple of new pod casts. Anyway it wouldn't sync, just would get past the first file. What was even stranger was that all the content (i.e. over 100 GB) was still available on the ATV. Even if I switched the MBP off (i.e. it wasn't being streamed from the MBP) it was actually still on the ATV even though iTunes on the MBP said it wasn't and was trying to sync it back on.
Anyway, in the end I had to reset the ATV back to factory settings and reinstall all the content.
Trouble is, exactly the same thing has happened again. Ahaaaghhhhh!!!!!!
Has anyone else had the same problem?
I'm reluctant to go back to the Apple store as to be frank no one there seems to know anything about ATV at all. And even though the product is less than a year old, Apple want to change me if I phone them up to ask them for some advice about this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Similar problem. I've had the AppleTV for 6 months now and its been flawless until the last two weeks.
I noticed one night that iTunes said it was syncing with AppleTV. Nothing weird about that. When I woke up it still said it was syncing...not normal. I packed up my MacBookPro and left for work. Got home and noticed the same hours and hours of syncing, but for no reason. Content was still on the ATV, so I saw no reason for the sync.
A New episode of a TV show became available, so I attempted to download it through the ATV, which has been a feature that never worked for me. Again, no dice, so I run upstairs to the MPB and download the new episode to iTunes. I see the prolonged sync message again, run downstairs and no new episode was shown. I tried rebooting both machines, signing out of the iTunes account on both machines and nothing worked.
So I restored to factory settings, re ran updates, and re-synced data and all was well.
Now I see iTunes telling me that its syncing the ATV again all night long. I have no idea why this is happening. The day before yesterday I rented an HD movie through the ATV, which took all freaking day to download, and attempted to watch it last night but the ATV took forever to authorize the movie and after ten minutes of watching the thing move in circles it tells me the content isn't authorized. HOW IS IT NOT AUTHORIZED WHEN I BOUGHT IT ON THE ATV LAST NIGHT?!?
Very aggravating. I've been a die-hard apple enthusiast for twenty years, starting when I was only six years old on my father's mac classic and my elementary school's apple II's. I haven't done any software updates that I can recall in the last two weeks to make the ATV start to act this strange.

  • Mountain Lion Calendar New Syncing Problems

I have had all my macs and my IOS devices synced through iCloud since it was MobileMe.   Everything has been wonderful (mostly) in terms of syncing, but in recent days, I have an issue where one of my calendars will no longer show events on the Macs.
At the beginning of the school year, I created a new iCloud calendar for my daughter's school.   I then uploaded a calendar export into that calendar so I could sync her school events across all of our devices.   Everything was wonderful.   Just a few weeks ago, I noticed that the events on that one calendar NO LONGER show on ANY of the Mac's - I think this is since the 10.8.2 update.    It only happens on this particular calendar.
Note that all of the events still show on icloud.com.   All of the events still show on my IOS devices.   They just stopped showing on my Mac's.   The other calendars show just fine.   I've gone through removing iCloud sync and re-enabling, but I get the same results.   I can add new events on any of the devices and they show up across platforms and online.   It's just those original 200+ events on the calendar that I put in for her school that no longer show.   Again - they showed fine for 2-3 months...
    Please help!

    Back up all data.
Delete the problem calendar accounts in the Mail, Contacts & Calendars preference pane, then add them back. Make sure the account details are correct. Test. If it still doesn't work, please describe in more detail what happens.

  • New syncing problem - HELP!

Suddenly, I cannot sync my nano. Didn't have a problem before. Have turned firewall off and back on. iTunes works fine until I plug in to sync, and then it crashes. Message: "iTunes has stopped working" immediately appears when I try to sync. Very aggravating. BTW - have upgraded to the latest version of iTunes. Am using HP laptop using Vista Home. Thanks for any help.

BTW - have upgraded to the latest version of iTunes.
Let's doublecheck that. In iTunes, go "Help > About iTunes" and wait for the version number to scroll up from the bottom of the screen.
Does it say 10.1.0.54 ? If so, we need to update you to 10.1.0.56 .
10.1.0.56 won't appear for you in Apple Software Update for Windows if you already have 10.1.0.54 installed. So you'll need to get the installer from the Apple website as per the following document:
[iTunes 10.1 for Windows: iTunes may stop working and need to quit while importing or syncing audio|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3591]

  • I have set up my new iPad 2 on my windowsn 7 computer, but experienced syncing problems from the start. It seems that it doesn't recognize the iPad, although it appears in iTunes. It only gives set up as new or restore options.

I have set up my new iPad 2 on my computer (Windows 7), but experienced syncing problems from the start.  It seems that although my iPad is regognized in iTunes as it appears there, it only gives met the options to set up as a new iPad or restore from the backup, no synching options. What do I do?

File>Devices>Transfer Purchases will transfer the itunes purchases to your ocmputer.
You should sync your ipod to your computer regularly.

  • New iTunes, same sync problems with Vista

    Hi
I got really excited when I saw in the fixes for the latest iTunes 8.1 for Windows that they had fixed sync problems with iPhones. They haven't!
On Vista Ultimate the sync has always been a problem, with either OutlookSyncClient or AppleMobileSync (or both) frequently crashing. With the previous couple of versions of iTunes, in my case, it has happened every third or fourth sync. Now with the new version it is almost every sync. It took me five disconnect and reconnect attempts and a couple of reboots to succcessfully sync this morning.
I've tried every fix I can find on line. I read that the Outlook sync problem was caused by an incompatibility with pst files that were not unicode. Oddly, I wasn't supposed to be able to sync with an old pst at all, but it did work erratically. Converting my pst to unicode didn't make any difference.
With the AppleMobileSync problem, I read that completely removing all Apple software in a particular order, restarting each time between removals, then clean reinstalling, should solve the problem. It didn't.
Now the problem is even worse and I'm at my wits end on it. Come on Apple, get a grip!
If anyone can shed any light on this I would be really grateful!

  • IPOD sync problems - are the new ones just as crappy?

Like everyone who uses an IPOD shuffle on a Windows computer, I constantly experience sync problems with the IPOD either not recognized or recognized as a different USB device. Constant plugging and unplugging into different USB ports usually solves the problem but what a freaking headache!
I'm thinking of getting a new music player and I want to know if the newer IPOD's (nano, shuffle, etc.) are as crappy with regard to USB port recognition and syncing as the 2nd generation shuffle?

You are obviously extremely dedicated. Just how long did it take you to talk to 30 or 40 million iPod Shuffle users and find out all of them had these issues?
Actually my guess would be your computer has an issue. I am assuming you are using a desktop computer? If this is true make sure you are using the full power USB ports in the rear of your computer.
Misidentification of your iPod would indicate a drive assignment problem, a problem that has been an issue since Windows was released. Make sure that all of the drivers for your other USB devices are current. If necessary use Device Manager and manually change the drive letter on the iPod.

  • New Touch Missing Movie Rental/Game "In-App Purchase" Sync Problems.

just picked up the new iPod Touch 4G (64GB) and am syncing to Win7 Starter (32bit).
I rented a few movies before I bought the Touch. They all seemed to download fine. the "Move" sync process seemed like it worked perfectly. When I looked back at my movies on my touch, some of them were missing. When I double checked my rental section in iTunes the movies were missing. I remember a dialogue later, saying that the file couldn't be found. I ran a quick windows search with no results.
So it seems like I could "Move" the movie fine, but after the sync finished, the files were gone from both the computer and the touch.
Could someone please explain this, and what I may do to recover those files? I did pay for them after all, and would still like to watch them. I just don't want to pay for them twice.
    Also (another similar issue):
I downloaded and played the game "FieldRunners" fine, but then decided to do an "in-app purchase" for the next level. I clicked download/entered my info/ and it seemed to download correctly, but when I re-entered the app, the level was not available to play. just weird.
FYI: this is my first iOS device, so please don't flame me for newbie ignorance.
    Any advice/suggestions are welcome!
    Thanks.
Overall, Here is my experience with the new touch:
First Connection: Installation did not work. Unplugged / Replugged USB worked correctly. (no restart necessary).
Selecting content to sync: Did not detect Outlook 2010 (FULL/NOT BETA) for Contacts/Calendar/etc.
I chose not to sync this through iTunes, and instead setup an "Exchange" account on my iPod Touch through google (m.google.com). Works perfectly.
I have my other email addresses forwarded through gmail to take care of push notifications. I still don't have Outlook 2010 calendars synced with google yet, but I'll figure that out.
Then I noticed the other sync problems mentioned above.
Again, any help would be appreciated!

    Hi Epski
Let us know how you go as i'm having the same issue also. I upgraded to yosemite and itunes 12 at the same time and thought the OS upgrade was the issue. I downgraded back to Mavericks again (for lots of reasons i won't go in to here) thinking this would fix the problem but it didn't.
When i play any video content from itunes 12 in full screen goes dark once the controls fade away. QT, appletv or anything else plays them perfectly, as per itunes 11!
You don't have a Samsung TV by any chance do you?

  • New Outlook sync problem after update!!!

I had the 'original' Outlook sync problem, which went away after the iTunes update to 7.3.1, but now, after the iPhone update last night, I have an entirely NEW Outlook sync problem!!
When I sync the iPhone, right when it gets to the 'syncing contacts' part (that you see in the top box/window in iTunes) I get an error message that I haven't seen before. It says "AppleMobileDeviceHelper has encountered a problem and needs to close..." and it gives me the option to send an error report. I dismiss the error box, and the sync process hangs, and iTunes becomes unresponsive.
If I open Outlook, the two Apple sync oblects are still enabled, and get no error message. If I re-open iTunes and try to sync again, it only syncs iTunes content, and never even tries to sync my contacts or calendar.
Anyone having anything similar since last night? The only thing different is the iPhone firmware update.

I just cancelled the sync by using the slider. I didn't realize I could do that. The phone seems fine. I may try it again and see what happens.

  • New Ipod Classic syncing problems, restoring problems

    Hello,
Just got my 80gb Ipod Classic yesterday, and have had syncing problems, and now Itunes does not recognize it at all.
I'm using the latest version of Itunes (7.6.2.9)
Ipod Firmware 1.1.2 (or whatever the newest is)
    Windows XP Pro
I'm a long-time user of a 5g 30gb Ipod and never have had issues like this. I am syncing to the same Itunes library as my old Ipod. Connecting my new Ipod Classic, I updated the firmware, and tried to sync. Halfway through the sync, I got an error. I disconnected the ipod and reset it. I tried syncing again, and again it would hang at some point, had to disconnect, and then it said my ipod had no music, but with 60gb free only. So obviously a database problem on the ipod and some mp3 files that my new ipod classic didn't like (though my old 5g ipod has no problem with this library).
Next, I connected and did a Restore.
I removed the culprit mp3 files from Itunes Library, attempted to sync again. Again, it would freeze at some point during sync. Had to disconnect Ipod while Itunes was frozen. Again, Ipod says has no music but with only about 60gb free.
So Ipod is corrupted again. The problem is when I connect it to my PC, Itunes no longer recognizes it, so I can't do a Restore. What do I do?

Just wanted to post my results, for future users benefit:
Putting my Ipod into Disk Mode, connected to computer, Itunes recognized it, performed a Restore.
    Still had syncing/freezing issues.
Decided that my Itunes library database was corrupted. Went into My Documents > My Music, and deleted the Itunes Folder, except for the containing Artwork Folder.
Have been rebuilding my Library from scratch since, and have had no syncing problems yet again.
Only problem is that in the outermost Podcast menu, it is always empty. The only conveninent way to access my Podcasts is to make a playlist and put them all in it.

  • New address on IPHONE will not appear on MAC a sync problem from IPHONE to MAC

I am  having a sync problem but I don't believe many who are offering answers understand the issue.  I write/make/create a 'new' contact on my IPHONE 4 address book.  I wait for it to sync over air.  Yes, on my MAC and on my IPHONE I have it set up to sync over air.  That is what it says on the INFO tab on the IPHONE page of the Itunes when I connect the IPHONE to my MAC.
No, I will not turn off the over air sync, I do not want multiple duplicates of my addresses!
On my IPAD I have no problems, my notes sync, my address book syncs but it does not do it from Iphone to MAC???

    Hi denctanner,
I did read the post. I was simply explaining that Contacts does not sync with the OTA Sync function, it syncs via iCloud if you want to sync wirelessly....
The OTA Sync option on the Info page has nothing to do with the iCloud syncing of your Contacts....
Try deleting your iCloud account on your iPhone and signing on again. Once you have signed iCloud back on, make sure all the options you want checked are checked, and then try it again. (When you delete it, you will get a message that it will delete your Photo Stream and Document but don't worry, when you sign back on, they will come back).
    Cheers,
    GB

  • My Many Irritations (story) and a New Solved Problem (video playback)

This topic is just going to ramble through the many things that have irritated me about my iPod since the purchase only three weeks ago. Don't get me wrong, though, I still love the thing. For the most serious problems, check out Numbers 3 and 11.
    Lets see... where to begin...
I originally had no interest in the iPod, but some time after the unveiling of the fifth generation's new capabilities a friend of mine started talking about it quite a lot. And so, some time in early November, my hype for the video iPod had grown greatly. I downloaded Videora iPod converter and started converting music videos like crazy.
By the time December rolled in I had successfully converted almost all of my 150 or so music videos and imported them into iTunes. With Christmas coming up I was wondering if I should just ask for it as a gift, but impatience set in and I bought it on the fifth of December, and have greatly enjoyed it since.
Sounds peachy, but there's a fair bit that I left out.
Number 1. I love viewing movie trailers on Apple's website. But with the recent update to the quicktime software, it was required to get the updated version. With that came iTunes, a program that was at the time unwanted and an irratation.
Number 2. Videora iPod Converter has it's fair share of bugs. While I successfully converted many a video with it, I found it would 100% of the time fail to convert files of the .wmv format (Windows Media). As well, I would later find a more serious problem.
Number 3. On the first day of using the iPod I had a serious error. I had been watching videos just fine all day, and the iPod was working perfectly. I then chose a video to play and inexplicably the iPod froze. These are the symptoms: black screen, backlight on, no responce from controls.
Tired, as it was the end of the day, I was unwilling to go to the computer room and attempt to find a solution online. And so, I gambled that the backlight would drain the battery and hoped that upon a recharge, everything would be fine. As the backlight was illuminating my bedroom, I put the iPod in it's sleeve to dim it a bit and went to sleep.
As you can imagine, this was kind of scary. I was afraid that I had bricked my iPod on it's first day.
In the morning, the battery had died and I was able to recharge it by syncing it with my computer. After charging, I tried a few videos and then tried the offending video. Again it froze, but this time I was confident that the backlight would drain the battery and it would be fine.
I then looked at the folder wherin I had saved the converted video. Among all my other videos was the offending one. I played it in Quicktime 7, and everything was fine until I realized the length of the video was double what it should be. After what should be the end of the music video came two minutes of a white screen. The file size was also abnormally large, compared to the other videos.
It turns out that Videora iPod Converter can sometimes produce corrupt files, and these corrupt files will not be detected by iTunes as corrupt. Such files can be trasferred to iTunes and to your iPod without any error or problem, but will lock up your iPod when played. Now, when converting batches of videos with Videora, I scan the file-sizes to see if any are abnormally large; after all, using the same settings on a batch of similar in length videos should produce files of similar size.
It occurs to me now that the method for resetting the iPod might have worked as an alternative to draining the battery.
Number 4. I should mention that the battery life on this thing was (for me) unexpectedly low when playing videos. I'm not saying that mine is defective or anything, but I just found that the battery runs down pretty quick when playing videos; quicker than I had thought it might. Not a big problem, though.
Number 5. In a search to find something to convert my .wmv videos to an iPod compatible format I found the ImToo converter. It works quite well, but the trial version is limited to videos of five minutes or less in length. I'm considering paying for the full version, but if someone knows of another reliable .wmv converter, I'd be glad to try that. For now, ImToo is good enough as most music videos are less than five minutes long, but I do have some other videos in the .wmv format that I would like to transcode.
Number 6. In mid December I went out of town for three days. Of course, I brought along my new favorite portable media player. Not surprisingly, the battery soon ran low and I was without my computer to recharge it. So I went out to a store and bought Apple's official USB Power Adapter. I thought it was kind of expensive, especially considering that they used to be BUNDLED with the older iPod models, but I was happy to find I would now be able to charge my iPod. Wrong. Something that was not made obvious to me by the package description (if it is even mentioned there) is that the darn thing needs the USB cable that came with the iPod. It does not come with one, and so if all you have is a wall socket, the USB Power Adapter, and an iPod, you're screwed. Unless it's the iPod shuffle, which apparantly is the only thing that works with the USB Power Adapter out of the box. As far as portability goes, I feel this hurts. I would have liked to keep my USB cable attached to my computer. After all, it is a pain to get to the back of my computer and keep plugging it in or unplugging it.
Number 7. I'm rather irritated with certain aspects of the iPod's interface considering music videos and regular song files. I spent a good amount of time adding artist and album tags to all of my music videos. These tags make sorting the videos in iTunes much easier.
First, the iPod's interface does not allow for the search of videos through album tags, but does through artist tags.
Second, going to Music>Albums> gives a long, cluttered list of Albums because of all of my music videos and one-hit songs that belong to only one album each.
I suppose there is a workaround.
Number 8. I recently bought another accessory for my iPod. The LOGiiX Amplified Fold-Up Speakers. A very attractive and portable set of speakers for the iPod. It comes with a little stand that holds the iPod in place, and works off of either 4 AAA Batteries or AC Power. Yet again, this is a product that DOES NOT come with the power adapter. Now, I think I MAY have one somewhere in my house... perhaps the power adapter that CAME WITH my SONY MD that is being replaced with the iPod will work....
Oh, and that little clip-on stand I mentioned? I expect it to be lost soon because when I fold up my portable speakers there is no way to clip the stand onto the outside of the speakers.
Now, as far as portability goes, I have to carry with me (at the most) seven things: the iPod, the headphones, the USB connector, the USB power adapter, the fold-up speakers, the little stand, and an AC power adapter.
Number 9. Minor irritation in my control of the clickwheel. After this long, I still accidentally select the wrong thing, and often take a fair time to get the highlight where I want. Meh, this one I'll figure out eventually.
Number 10. There was something irritating about entirely forgetting my login for my Apple ID and having to create this brand new one for today.
Number 11. Just today, I have come across a problem with the video not playing. I watched one video just fine, went to the Videos>Movies> tab and, as mentioned above, accidentally highlighted a video I did not wish to play and hit the Select button. Normally when this happens I wait until the video has loaded - when the screen goes black and the white Play symbol appears in the top left. But this time, I immediately hit the Menu button to go back to the Movies tab. The video's loading was interrupted and I went back to the Movies tab.
Now, when I select and play ANY video, after a noticable but short wait the screen goes black, another noticably longer wait and the play symbol appears, and then a black screen for a few seconds and the iPod skips ahead to the next video, which behaves in the exact same way.
I have powered down the iPod using the method of holding the pause button, but the problem persits.
My music videos can be played as songs by finding them under the Music tab, but no videos play as videos.
I am not at my home computer, and so running iPod updater or just trying to sync is not an option right now.
I will soon try to reset the iPod using the method described on Apple's support website.
EDIT Okay, the reset did the trick. Videos are playing fine now. I still want to share my iPod story, so I'll leave this here, but have changed it from being a question. Below are the instructions I followed for the reset.
    RESETTING THE IPOD
    1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
    2. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.

    Nice Rant session:
"It turns out that Videora iPod Converter can sometimes produce corrupt files, and these corrupt files will not be detected by iTunes as corrupt. Such files can be trasferred to iTunes and to your iPod without any error or problem, but will lock up your iPod when played. Now, when converting batches of videos with Videora, I scan the file-sizes to see if any are abnormally large; after all, using the same settings on a batch of similar in length videos should produce files of similar size."
What did you expect for freeware? Nice effort but because it's free everyone thinks it's a gem. It's not. This web site has been flooded with questions that should be directed at the authors website. Video conversion and editing is not for the beginner. Sounds to me that you have a bunch of badly converted videos that are causing a lot of problems. Videora problems:
    Known Bugs
    Audio/Video sync
Problem - Output files can be out-of-sync. While no set pattern has been established, it seems to be more frequent with input files of 23.976 fps, non-DVD rips, and WMV/MPG filetypes.
Workaround solutions - Try the custom option '-async 1'. If the disconnect gradually increases over time, setting 29.97 fps sometimes gets rid of the problem regardless of the input fps. You can also use AviSynth to assume the FPS and have the audio sync to that. If it's a sudden disconnect, check your VOB Cell settings in DVD Decrypter settings per this thread. Otherwise, test with an AviSynth script per the DaProphecy's method in the FAQ. For non-DVD files, PSPVideo 9 may be a good short-term solution until the converter stabilizes some more or try something like AviDemux.
Audio track not getting picked up
Problem - The IFO stream rip is fine, but the converted file has no sound. The debug info showed to audio track getting picked up. The most obvious case with this is the Madagascar DVD.
Workaround solution ideas - Test with an AviSynth script per the DaProphecy's method in the FAQ (untested). Use a different DVD ripper.
    Program doesn't start (.NET issue?)
Problem - Converter errors upon starting with an extended dump.
Solution ideas - Update .NET framework (in all languages you're using!) to most recent solution. Clean out registry. Neither of these have worked for some.
    Progress meter incorrect
Problem - During transcodes, the progress meter can be incorrect; thus, transcoding continues after the meter hits 100% and time remaining is zero. People have been seeing this more often with VOB files and/or the H.264 codec.
Workaround - Figure out the length of your movie in seconds and compare that to the 'Processed' field. A 2-hour movie will not finish until Processed hits 7200 seconds.
Artifacts (bad video quality) in darker scenes
Problem - Scenes with darker background colors tend to have more artifacts (blocked video). It's much more obvious on the iPod, so this may be an Apple firmware problem.
Workaround ideas - Use a VBR setting (FQ->VBR, two-pass A->VBR) to improve video quality. The custom option '-mbd 2' might help.
    Desktop icon
Problem - When installing, the desktop icon does not appear/stick when using lower color setups.
Workarounds - Select a 32-bit color scheme in your desktop settings, or change the icon in the shortcut.
    Profile changes don't always stick
Problem - If you make a change to a profile, click apply, and immediately trancdoe with that profile, the transcode might not use the new settings.
Workarounds - Once you click apply, swtich to another profile and back again to make sure the change is still there. If that doesn't work, create a new profile.
Can only install/use with admin rights
Problem - There have been reports of non-admin users not being able to use the converter.
Workarounds - Separate installs or give all users admin rights.
Who in their right mind would use a program that has these many critical bugs to convert files for the IPOD. People who are cheap, kids with no money and people who are just plain gullably.
    A little research and downloading a trial from this site would have solved your video problems early on;

  • FIREFOX 35.0 'NEW' SYNC: I'm already signed-in to Sync but when I click on FF Sync/"Manage" in 'Options' I receive a message that my password is incorrect. Why?

    Hi Mozilla support,
My query is twofold but interrelated ... and sorry for the protracted dialogue, in advance :)
    (1) Regarding my Sync "Password" + (2) Strange issue in Options/'Sync'/"Manage
Set out below is my 'issue'.
Perhaps you can clarify what is going on here for me and help me to stop this strange occurrence.
I've used firefox since 3.5 and love it.
I now have Firefox 35 on Windows 8 (64-bit) with the 'new' Sync successfully set-up on a newish HP Desktop computer (Envy 23).
While my 'issue' doesn't cause a huge problem, it IS a source of unnecessary frustration & confusion.
If possible I'd like to eliminate that unnecessary stress and enjoy using FF again.
Additionally, I thought this peculiar 'issue' may be an indication of something else amiss in my FF Sync or my FF settings.
    Here is the scenario:-
At the moment, I'm signed in to Firefox "Sync" and it IS definitely syncing successfully - the 'circular arrows' spin around & tell me when it was last synced, so I know that's okay.
However, after the last update (to 35.0), I had to "reconnect" sync because it has "disconnected" .
I had terrible trouble signing back in, even though I was using the exact same password I had been using prior to the update.
After several failed attempts to sign in and FF repeatedly telling me I was using the 'incorrect' password, I closed the browser down & restarting FF 35.
FF had somehow 'signed me in' automatically - with the same password I thought was correct or not, I don't know.
Anyway, after all the trouble signing-in I not only felt dubious that all the data WAS syncing, I wanted to take a closer look.
But also I needed to check which password was being used for Sync, when FF signed me in (after the update & restart).
To double-check sync was working properly, I went into - "Options"/Firefox Sync/"Manage" - and was told that I needed to (quote): "Sign in, Continue to Firefox Sync".
I thought it was strange as only a couple of minutes before that, FF had already signed me in & sync seemed to be working. (the circular arrows were spinning)
Not knowing what was going on, I did as suggested by FF and entered my User-name & Password (for a second time).
I was then informed my password was 'incorrect' (please see uploaded/attached image).
I found this odd, considering this 'message' came up even though FF itself had signed me in to Sync after the update to 35 & restart of the browser.
What is confusing to me is the mixed-messages I'm receiving from FF.
FF must have signed me in to Sync using the very same Password that I've used since the 'new' sync was set-up & had been using for some time, but was now informing me in - 'Options/Sync/"Manage" - that the password was incorrect.
Although I am, at this moment, signed in to sync & it is working, I'm utterly confused as to what is or isn't the correct Password.
*If it can be avoided, I don't want to change it because I've saved it in so many places in PC, for future reference.*
Can I 're-save' the same password for Sync again, so that I can be sure that it's correct?
Also, for me, this strange behaviour by FF sync is an unnecessary source of angst and would love you to tell me what is going on or how to fix it please?

    # Yes, if you go to accounts.firefox.org, sign out, you will now be signed out.
    # Sign back in, and you will be asked to save the password you entered.
    # This will save the password and autocomplete if you have this option turned on.
I am not exactly sure why the menu did not detect the password change or if it was stored incorrectly after you changed it? But after storing the correct password you can manage any duplicate passwords in the password manager.[[Password manager - Remember, delete and change saved passwords in Firefox]]

  • Owning 2 iphones with one Apple account has = Sync Problems.

Owning 2 iphones with one Apple account has = Sync Problems.  iTunes is thinking my old iphone 4 is the same phone as my iphone 5C.  When I plugged in my iphone 5C it auto synced my 5C to iTunes and it wiped my 5C and restored it to the same content as is on my iPhone 4.  This is a big problem since my 5 year old has been using the iPhone 4.  It's all Mickey Mouse and Backyardigans.  (Total photo/app/contacts loss)
I was able to update the 5C and restore from a 3 month old backup that is actually the content from the 5C but now when I plug in my 5C it wants to "setup as new phone" or "restore from backup"  What's going on?  I'm afraid to choose either option.
How can I get iTunes to see these devices as 2 and not one?
Can I use my Apple ID on both phones still or is this the problem?

They were both displaying the same name in iTunes.  I changed the name of the iPhone 4 before the 5C was plugged in but it still went ahead with syncing it to the 4's data.
