New tab homepage FF5

Alright I was wondering if there is some way of setting a new tab to redirect to my homepage in FF5 without using TabMixPlus (don't like the fact it changes new tab text colours)

You can middle-click the Home button to have a new tab open with your homepage displayed.
''I agree about TabMix Plus, it's too much extension for only wanting or needing that one feature.''

• How can I make New Tab Homepage work in Firefox 6.0 ?

I just upgraded to Firefox 6 beta and New Tab Homepage stopped working.

Or you can middle-click the toolbar Home button to open the home page(s) in a new tab.

• Want to be able to open tabs in multiple rows, rather than in a single row. I used tab mix plus before, but it says it is not compatible with New tab Homepage. The older version of Firefox allowed this very easily.

• How can I re-set new tab homepages? A website has made itself appear every time I open a new tab.

My new tabs keep startying up with imesh, a website I don't want and haven't made a homepage. Firefox options don't show this is in your tab start-up system. How can I get rid of it?

-> Tap '''ALT''' key or press '''F10''' to show the Menu Bar
-> go to Help Menu -> select "Restart with Add-ons Disabled"
Firefox will close then it will open up with just basic Firefox. Now do this:
-> Update Firefox to the latest version by going to Help Menu -> About Firefox -> click Check for Updates -> if an updated version is found then download the latest version and install it. After that follow these steps:
-> go to View Menu -> Toolbars -> unselect All Incompatible/Unwanted toolbars
-> go to Tools Menu -> Clear Recent History -> '''Time range to clear: select EVERYTHING''' -> click Details (small arrow) button -> place Checkmarks on '''Cookies, Cache''' -> click '''Clear Now'''
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> General -> When Firefox starts : select "Show My Home Page" -> Type the address of the website which you want to be your HomePage e.g. http://www.google.com
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Content -> place Checkmarks on:
1) Block Pop-up windows 2) Load images automatically 3) Enable JavaScript
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Security -> place Checkmarks on:
1) Warn me when sites try to install add-ons 2) Block reported attack sites 3) Block reported web forgeries 4) Remember Passwords for sites
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Advanced -> Network -> Offline Storage (Cache): click '''Clear Now''' button
-> Click OK on Options window
-> click the Favicon on SearchBar -> click '''Manage Search Engines''' -> select all Unwanted Search Engines and click '''Remove''' -> click OK
-> go to Tools Menu -> Add-ons -> Extensions section -> REMOVE All Unwanted/Suspicious Extensions (Add-ons) -> Restart Firefox
-> go to Tools Menu -> Add-ons -> Appearance section -> REMOVE All Incompatible/Unwanted/Suspicious Themes (Persona) -> Restart Firefox
You can enable your Known & Trustworthy Add-ons and Themes later. Check and tell if its working.

• New Tab Homepage is different from the Homepage when first starting Firefox.

My homepage is set for "Google search engine" (or)"http://www.google.com/" . Whenever I first start Firefox, the page displayed is the "http://www.google.com/". Whenever I hit the "Open A New Tab" button that is a "+" (plus) sign, the page displayed is always the "Yahoo" search engine (or "search.yahoo./" (after the slash, there is a lot of numbers and letters)).

A new tab opens by default as a blank tab (about:blank).
If that isn't the case then an extension has changed that behavior.

• New Tab - Homepage?

Alright so I've started to use Safari a lot more now than Firefox (just too sluggish). I can't find a way to set a new tab to open with my homepage instead of a blank page. I'm either missing something or it doesn't exist. Can someone help me out?

No, that will not work. That will cause Safari to open a new Window with their homepage, and the OP wants new Tabs to open with their homepage. But you cannot do that in Safari.

• New tab homepage and font for ff

my problem is that with new ff 5.0 i can set up an option which will open every new tab with my home page. with the old one it worked but when i was looking for a new add on looks like the old one hasn't been upgraded to the new ff 5.0. maybe i just dont know where to look ,so then pls give me some suggestion what should i do with this, or maybe you dont have this feature for ff 5.0, so then it is my suggestion to do this because it's one of the most important features while working with new tabs to have already a webpage which you want to work with instead of taping address every time you open a new tab!!
another thing is that somehow i changed font for the whole interface of ff and now somehow cant find where is this option where to change it again.. :( would you be so nice and help me to find this option again? font of wepage content is good. it's only about ff's interface like toolbars, the place where you type www address, bookmarks toolbar, font in name of open tabs)
it's definitely not the option in tools -> options -> content -> font!
I'm pretty sure that i have done this somewhere in windows. maybe somehow you will be able to help me.
thank you very much!!

thank you very much!! this helped me a lot with my first problem!!

• Return the new tab homepage to black

ever since the last update my new tabs open to '''home.brandthunder.com/?newtab '''as opposed to the blank page it used to. i downloaded the add-on newtaburl and set it to blank, but it still opens up to this page. how do i get it to go back to the blank page?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

*Open the about:config page via the location bar and do a search for brandthunder via the Filter at the top of the about:config page.
*Reset all brandthunder related prefs that appear bold (user set) via the right-click context menu to their default values.

• How can I change the new tab homepage ?

how can I change the " new tab " homepage

By default Firefox uses a blank page in a new tab. Something you installed changed that to I-PLAY. You need to figure out what changed that, and get rid of it. Start with this.
• What is the default setting for the new tab homepage in firefox?

• How can you get your homage address to open when you open new tabs? My homepage is Google, but my new tabs always open with Yahoo.

On my old computer, all my tabs always opened to what my homepage was set to: iGoogle. Now with my new computer, my homepage is set, but all new tabs open with Yahoo! I've tried looking at tab setting but don't see a place to set it. Help!

The behavior that you have is not the default Firefox behavior, which always opens a blank tab. You will have an add-on that is causing this. Check for any Yahoo related add-ons to see if they have this option. The freeze net assistant add-on is another one that opens Yahoo in a new tab.
There are add-ons that allow you to specify what should appear on a new tab, but these may conflict with the add-on that is opening Yahoo.

• When I open a new tab is doesn't open to my set homepage as it would if opening firefox from start. It instead opens to a "default" page with pogo powered by yahoo, I want to change to google. How do I do this?

Opening firefox from begining, I have been able to set it to always open to google as it was in my old firefox default settings. If I remember correctly when you opened a tab, it would automatically open to the homepage. I'm not expierencing this with the new version. It is automatically going to the default page rather than the set homepage. (I just have learned to prefer the google search over the yahoo search over the years and am resistant to changing over, sorry)

When I Ctrl+t to get a new tab it opens with YAHOO as the page. I would like it to open my HOMEPAGE.

You can look at one of these extensions:
