New Tab no longer works, either from the pull-down menu or the "+" sign. Nothing happens.

This behavior just started today without any warning. I've closed and restarted Firefox several times without fixing it. I downloaded an update 3.6.13 for Windows but the same problem persists. New Window works fine, but New Tab does nothing.

That is a problem with the Ask.com toolbar (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions)

Try uninstalling the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and the current version of Firefox.

Wont open a new tab.. Im clicking on the + but nothing happens

So I have a Dell XPS L702X laptop (win7.64) and a Microsoft surface pro both running the same version of FF. Same bookmarks and everything. I went through all the setting on both and compared all. Set them both to be exactly the same. But on my laptop (since the latest update) I cant open a new tab by clicking on the + or by using ctrl+shift+P. Nothing works. Its like the feature has been shut off but the + is still here and it even highlights when I hover my cursor over it. SO next I completely uninstalled FF and reinstalled the latest again. But its still not working. Oh and btw it works fine on my surface and other computers.

This can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Community Toolbar extension have recently been reported to cause such an issue.

Using alias addresses from Account pull-down menu

My main computer is in for repair and I started using my G4 for Mail. I have a Mobile Me/.Mac account and have several alias addresses. On my computer with Leopard, the From account pull down- menu has my alias accounts to choose to send from. This, the Tiger machine does not. Only has my primary Mobile me account to choose from. Is there a way to get my aliases to show in the pull-down. I was syncing the mail boxes for a while, but that didn't seem to do what I wanted.

Go to Preferences > Accounts, select the account in question, and add the alias email addresses after the Email Address field for the account, separated by commas. Save the changes, then restart Mail.

The "New Tab" function does not work either from the tab bar, the File drop down menu or using CTRL+T

The new tab is visible on the the tab bar but clicking on it does not open a new tab.Neither can I open a new tab from the File drop down menu, nor the Ctrl+T method as indicated in the troubleshooting guide.

Regarding "New Tab Page" - dragging a bookmark from the libary does not display when "+" is selected

It's maddening that I can't fix something so simple.
When I click on the "+" a new page opens with unpopulated entries for websites. I've tried the steps in "New Page Tab" and managed to drag and drop a bookmark from my "library".
The prompts look OK but the site does not appear in the vacant entry box. It looks like it should work. Is there a simple (stupid) step that I'm missing?

I want to choose what appears in the 9 boxes on the new tab screen. Why can't I click an empty box and enter the web address to be used for that box. Even if it did work, drag and drop a terrible way to do this. "Bookmarks-Add to new tabs" would be a 2 click operation. Instead some developer wanted to play with drag and drop and got it wrong. I suggest adding the simple functionality first and experiment with drag an drop later.
Also it is suggested that add-ons could stop the functionality from working. This is like saying your car won't start if you put a passenger in it. I'd guess someone just made that suggestion to try to be helpful rather than out of any actual experience of it fixing this problem.

Firefox 3.6.15, Windows 7, clicking on New Tab does not work -- what's the solution?

When I click directly on the + tab at the right of the tabs ("Open a new tab") nothing happens. When I R-click the mouse while hovering over the + tab and select New Tab, nothing happens. In other words, I cannot use the multi-tab capability of Firefox...any ideas on how to fix this?

Try uninstalling the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened.

New tab page shows multiple sites from the same domain

For example in the grid of sites it may show multiple pages from e.g. stackoverflow.com instead of just the single base domain stackoverflow.com (or alternatively the most used of the pages). Is there any way to limit each domain to a single page in the quick links tableau? In my opinion having multiple pages is not at all a navigational aid as sites generally provide their own internal navigation.

Command click to open link in new tab no longer works in google scholar

Well the question basically says it all. Starting a couple of weeks ago, i have not been able to command click links to open in new tabs (I am on a mac, OS X 10.6.8). This includes links to google books as well as library links. This only happens on google scholar. It also happens in 'safe mode'. I have contacted google support who have stated that this is a browser issue. They have not changed the coding of the scholar site. This is very frustrating. I have used FF for years and am now going to have switch to Safari, whose own command click function continues to work in google scholar. Any thoughts/ suggestions?

Yes this issue is definitely related to Firefox. As I stated at the outset, the command click works fine in safari (although I prefer not to use it due to its restriction of automatically opening enw files in EndNote).
I was curious as to whether the issue was triggered by new coding on the part of Google scholar. Doesn't seem that way. Although I am still curious whether some of the style coding of the scholar page is creating issues... Given that command clicking works on every other page including regular Google searches...
The point though, was to generate some leads as to where this problem may best be addressed and what is the best language with which to do so...

Firefox is unable to open Facebook pages(not app pages) when opened in a new Tab. It works fine on the original tab though.

When I log into my facebook account, it loads up fine. However, if I try to open any facebook pages into a new tab, it fails to load. It doesn't seem to affect the original tab in which it was loaded. It also doesn't seem to affect Facebook app pages. I have tested this on IE without any problems. This only happened after a firefox update.

Firefox 3.6.13 does not open new tabs anymore. Ctrl-T, file- new tab , right click new tab no longer works. Why is this?

No new extensions or add-ons have been installed. And all the features options to open new tabs fail to open a new tab. Can someone tell me how to fix the problem? I'm tempted to downgrade to an earlier version of firefox or reinstall 3.6.13 to see if that fixes the problen.

I recently updated to ios 7.1 and had to delete albums that are stored in my iCloud. Now when I try to download those albums from the cloud, nothing happens. I can't even stream the music from the cloud.

I would like to add that music back to my library but unfortunately the icloud won't allow me to do that. I even tried transferring it from my macbook to my iphone with no luck. I have restarted my iphone multiple times with no luck. It is not a case of the music being out of date considering I bought one of the albums a week ago.

Is the "Slideshow" option removed from Action pull down menu in Leopard?

In Tiger, I had the ability to launch a quick slideshow from the Action pulldown menu. Did that get moved somewhere else? Or did Apple remove it from Leopard?

you have to press hold option. then the slideshow option will show up in the action menu and also the quicklook button will change to the slideshow button. even faster is to enter commandoptiony instead of using menus.
