New Themes and Extra Large Book format not working

I can't access the new themes or the new large format book in iPhoto. I have installed the 8.1 upgrade. (I also have installed Snow Leopard).
8.1 seems to have installed successfully, but I still can't get the new stuff, so I tried re-installing it, and was told that the upgrade already exists. I'd really like to use the Tropical theme, and am at a standstill. Anybody with some input?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. To reinstall you first need to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder. Then run the installer and updates and try again.

David o"bryan did you migrate/transfer any files/folders/applications to the new Mac laptop? You can verify that your serial number is valid by checking under your account at http://www.adobe.com/. I have deleted my sons apple id and data from his old phone by accident as i thought i was resetting it for me to use and now he has lost everything on his new phone and his id etc does not work. Can someone please explain how i am able to retrieve

I thought i was resetting my son's iphone 4 so that I could use it. But I seem to have erased his icloud/apple id and all of his data from his new phone too. His Apple ID doesnt work and cant be accessed as it now says it is disabled. I have tried the iforgot.apple.com website without success and have no idea how to rectify. I have requested a password change to his email address but that is not working either.

That sounds confusing. First off, don't be too worried. There's practically no way to actually delete an Apple ID or it's purchase history. You should be able to get to it back somehow. Secondly, that's likely something that you'll need to talk to a real person on the phone for since it likely requires you to explain that you need access on behalf of your son, (who probably just set some security questions or an email address that you didn't know he put in.) Just call the appropriate AppleCare phone line (800-APL-CARE in the USA, or see the link below for other countries) and tell them you want to talk about an iCloud account security question.

Deauthorizing all is definitely the way to go. You will just need to authorize your computer again after, as well as your husband's.

Move the Mountain Lion version of Airport Utility to the Trash. Airport Utility is located in the Utilities folder.
Kappy, you cannot move AirPort Utility in Mountain Lion to the trash in a normal way. Apple will not let you do this.....It is part of the Mountain Lion operating system....and cannot be modified or trashed.

Make sure your work it folks are ok with the pad. They can tell device type, and some companies simply don't want pads on their mail systems. ( yes, I know....)
There is also usually another password entering the flow, your exchange password, that may be different than your normal password. Give your friendly it guy a call.

Thanls Ernie. I found the solution. My problem was previous to 10.10.3. It looks like the installation of final cut and uninstallation of fcp delte a plugins that was needed for Aperture. I recover from time machine my plugins in Library/frameworks/plugin.manager.framework and now Aperture works ! Ouf....

I have no idea what may have caused your MacBook to stop working, but from your description it kind of sounds like it may have started before you ran Software Update and installed the new Apps. Just the general slow feeling and bugginess is what tips me off. You said that you weren't sure if you had closed all open windows, that doesn't matter if the computer restarts itself. It automatically closes all other open applications when restarting.
As to your data being retrievable, if when you take it in they do a fresh install of the OS, then no, it will not be unless you want to pay several thousand dollars to a software retrieval company.
I am glad to hear that you have taken into the Apple Store to get it fixed, and that you have all of your purchased music backed up to your iPod. You should be able to just transfer it all back to iTunes once you get your computer back should it be necessary.
As a side note, the proper place for this topic would probably in the MacBook forums, not iTunes since there is no evidence that iTunes started the issue.

Try:
- A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

I have this issue. Album artwork was totally fine before. After this update, it is all messed up and even got messed up when transferred to my iphone.
iTunes doesn't have the artwork anymore, but then iPhone has it but shows wrong artwork with wrong albums.

I just bought a new laptop and my ipod nano will not stay connected to my computer. When I first connect the ipod it starts to sync on my ipod but not on itunes. The ipod is initially connected to my computer, I can see it when I look on devices in my computer. However, when it finishes syncing it is no longer detected to my computer. I cannot transfer any of my songs to my new laptop because of this. I have tried to reinstall itunes, reset my ipod and use a different port. None of these things worked. Any ideas?
