I finally left the darkside and joined the force but im mad as H#@&! My macbook airport and internet connection say im connected to my linksys wireless router and even shown connection to my network but i still cant connect to the net via safari. I am currently using WPA and have accurately input my security code. I also disabled the security but nothing changed. if i wanted this, i could have stayed with windows...

Let's double-check your AirPort settings on the MacBook ...
System Preferences > Network > AirPort
o Location: Automatic
o In the left column, verify that an AirPort option exists. If it does not, click "+" to create one. (Note: If you are unable to create an AirPort configuration, the AirPort card in your computer either doesn't exist or it is not recognized.)
o Verify that AirPort is "On." Click "Turn AirPort On" button if not.
o Ask to join new networks: (enabled)
o Show AirPort status in menu bar: (enabled)
Systems Preferences > Network > AirPort > Advanced

o Remember any network this computer has joined: (enabled)

I live in Somerset, UK, but having recently come back from a trip to Germany, my iPad thinks it is still in Germany. Is there any way to correct this? I am new to apple conventions, but thought this was an automatic update when the iPad locks on to a local Wifi hotspot. Any thoughts out there?
Thank you all for responding - much appreciated, but none of the advice has shifted my location from Germany. Time Zone is shown as Lonon, Region Format is shown as UK, and Reset Network Settings seemed only to switch off the Wifi connection.
I'll leave it at that I think, and make do with the iPad thinking it's in Germany.

IMovie: hey apple i thought this was supposed to be easy!
I have iMovie 08 and am trying to upload some of my son's guitar video to youtube. I go through all the upload steps then get slammed with the dreaded, "COMMUNICATION ERROR" message.
"An error occurred during communication with the server ("lost network connection")..." then the message tells me to see if I am still connected to the Internet. Of course I am.

How can I get started please. I have plugged my usb cable into computer. I have the latests verision of Itunes but I cant even set up the ipad because itunes cant see the device

I thought I was supposed to get full version of office

I have taken delivery of a 12inch G4 powerbook today,
I ordered it through my university and I thought I was supposed to get a full version of office as it was thorugh an academic institution, I find I only have the test version,
Am I supposed to get the full version. I'm sure it said it was when I ordered it.
thanksIt is possible they were offering a rebate w/purchase of Office. I've seen that advertised a few months ago locally.
The Student/Teacher edition was free after rebate with supporting purchase of any Macintosh product.
But, you had to lay out the cash at the register to get Office, first. It wasn't free "out the door". Since it has only been a couple days, I'd call the store up and ask them about the offer. Maybe your salesperson did not know of the add-on? -
i sent my 17inch mac pro to apple to install a new hard drive and my mountain lion was not on it when i got it back, using the same apple id i tried to re download it but it says i have to pay

I was trying to update my ipad operating system and I thought it was done. When I disconnected it from my computer the ipad went blank then the apple logo appeared midscreen with an elongated oval across the screen under it. Now nothing on the ipad works. I think it was backed up on my computer but I can't find anything that will allow me to sync the two or regain functionality on my ipad. Any suggestions?

I would put the ipad in recovery mode and redo the update, once that is done you could restore the ipad from your backup and you would not lose any data.

i signed up for cc a while back and thought i was supposed to receive both ps and lr but i have only been able to use ps. I pay the monthly 9.99 subscription. Does this price level not include Lr?
Sounds a bit odd to me. Like Gene says, if you are signed in to the Desktop Application Manager, it should recognize you and the plan you are on, and let you install LR without asking for a serial number. Try signing out of the Desktop Application Manager by clicking on the cog icon > Preferences > Account tab > sign out. Then sign back in again. This forces the Desktop Application Manager to scan your system (it normally only does so once every 24 hours looking for updates).
If LR is still not inviting you to Install it, then sign in to your Adobe account . See what it says under My Subscriptions. I don't have the Photography plan, so don't know what you should see, but I imagine it will be obvious. Click on Manage and see if that makes sense.
If still in trouble, I think you would do better starting a thread in the Creative Cloud forum that deals specifically with this sort of issue. You'll also find some FAQ links on that page that will likely give you a clue as to what is going on.
Bottom line is I have never been asked for a serial number installing LR from the CC Desktop Application Manager. -
When I used Safari to go to the American Express web site a request came up asking me to register my Amex card. I thought this was strange so I called Amex and they saw it when they went online and they said it was my iPad that had been hacked. Is there an app to protect my iPad when I am online with sensitive information?
I located some suggestions for flushing the cache.
There are really three ways you can flush the DNS cache on your iPad.
1) Simply turn the iPad off and on again using the power button. A simple reboot will go a long way.
2) Turning on Airplane mode and then turning it off again will also clear the DNS cache and should be enough to fix the problem. Tap on your Settings icon, then swipe Airplane mode to On and then back off. Since Airplane mode disables the wireless features of your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to comply with airline regulations, this will generally do the trick.
The third method would reset all your network settings and I'm pretty sure you don't want to do that right now. -
My Apple ID won't process because my bank information isn't matching what to do I'm new to Apple and can't download anything?
You've checked the name and address on your iTunes account and it's in exactly the same format (including spacing and layout) as the credit card that you are trying to use is registered to ? And the card was issued by a bank in the country where you and your iTunes account are ?

I have got the new iPhone 5 and the iOS inside is suppose to have the facebook integration, i have upgraded to the latest version, now i get the facebook option in my notification centre, but i thougth i was going to get all the notifictaion , but sadly i have to log on to fb application to get all my notification updates , nothing is notifyied to me , is there a way to make this happen ??, if yes please help me out , i have tried all the options but doesnt seem to work im afraid ..

Three things come to mind:
1. I think you're implying when you travel away from your home to a more populated area, the cellular coverage improves and your iPhone works well. Is that right?
2. Do you have a case or some other obstruction over or near your iPhone's antenna? Have you tried moving or removing any possible obstructions near the antenna?
3. AT&T has a (free) app in the App Store called "Mark the Spot". You can use this app to report voice and/or data issues to AT&T, as well as keep up on progress they may be making in improving coverage in your area. Your trouble reports are geotagged (if you wish). -
Yesterday, I used 5000 bonus points to buy 1 extra gb of data. This hasn't shown up in my account yet. The 5000 points deduction is listed in my Smart Rewards account, but no bonus data. I thought it was supposed to show up almost immediately. Will it be credited to my account?
I called Verizon Wireless and they gave me the number: 1-866-962-3713 -- which asks if you're calling about the 1GB rewards offer - if you select this option it says "We are aware of customers having problems with this offer and hope to have it resolved soon. Please check back again." So, will try again in a few days.
The original technical support rep I spoke to from the main line was incredibly helpful (helped me find the 866 number above). A+. -
I am very new to Macs and iPhoto so this may be an idiot's question, but I have just created my first photo book and want to buy it, but the "buy book" button is not highlighted and when I click it nothing happens. Is there some step I am missing or some connection I need? I am on the internet. Thanks!
I have now recently downloaded 10.0.2 which is confusing in itself, as, as far as I can ascertain that is actually version 11, but I'm not even sure about that.
Version 10.0.2 is the newest version and the successor to GarageBand '11 (version 6.0.5).
The '11 is referring to the iLife '11 suit of multimedia application - the older GarageBand was a part of this bundle.

IMovie 10.....I thought this was more intuitive.....clipping?
Thought this was moving to a more intuitive type program for laymen....
well iMovie 9 I picked up and figured things out almost instantly for basic editing for youtube
I cannot figure out how to select and area of the event I want to clip or delete.
I just dont understand those thin bars that you move to pinpoint a frame in time.
also...no audio now when i move the bar through the event...it used to give me audio.....sped up or down of course.....Click and hold down for a second or two and you will see a handle and a yellow rectangle...then drag to the right...just like you did in the old iMovie, except the holding down part. Once you have the piece selected that you want to delete, hit delete just like before.

Trouble subscribing to calDEV calendar
