General Ledger Accounting (FI-GL) (New)
The central task of G/L accounting is to provide a comprehensive picture of external accounting and accounts. Recording all business transactions (primary postings as well as settlements from internal accounting) in a software system that is fully integrated with all the other operational areas of a company ensures that the accounting data is always complete and accurate.
Beyond fulfilling the legal requirements, General Ledger Accounting also fulfills other requirements for modern accounting:
- Parallel Accounting
General Ledger Accounting allows you to perform parallel accounting by managing several parallel ledgers for different accounting principles.
- Integration of Legal and Management Reporting
In General Ledger Accounting, you can perform internal management reporting in parallel with legal reporting. For this purpose, the Profit Center Accounting functions are integrated with General Ledger Accounting. Furthermore, you can generate financial statements for any dimension (such as profit center).
- Segment Reporting
General Ledger Accounting supports the segment reports required by the accounting principles IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). For this purpose, General Ledger Accounting contains the Segment dimension.
- Cost of Sales Accounting

Activate new g/l concept

Hi gurus,
in 6.0 ecc, there is a new g/l concept is there. Present in our implementation we dont want new g/l concept. How can we deactivate new g/l concept.

Hi Raja,
.Activate the New General Ledger Accounting by a single click on the clock icon
2.You will reach to change view "activation of New GL A/cg" detail screen and tick the checkbox and save. If u deactivate that remove tick in that check box
3. After activation of New General Ledger Accounting, you exit the IMG screen When you re-enter , you find that a new node is added Financial Accounting (New)
4.After activation of New General Ledger Accounting , a new sub node appears in the IMG structure.

In release 6.10 a new exception concept has been introduced. Please find below a basic syntax of how to code the new error-handling concept.
*Syntax for TRY .. ENDTRY construct

BW-BPS and new analysis authorization concept

We are using BW-BPS on Netweaver 2004s SP8 and the new autorization concept is switched on.
Where do we need to pay attention?
Which authorization objects stay the same and which are now to be maintained in analysis authorizations?

In NW04S, BPS and BI IP share the same new authorization concept so you tend to have to rebuild specific profiles used for BPS. The old BW-BPS tend to have authorization for R_* and they need to be redone using the new authorization concept and it can take some time if you have a lot of profiles.

The New Media Sync Concept

Hi,
I love my BB and recently updated to the latest version of the Desktop Management Software. It all looks good and it is visually quite a significant upgrade...but the Media Sync functionality unusable.
I am not particularly fond of the new way to sync media (comes with Desktop Software 6)with your phone. Where the hell is Roxio Media Manager? This new method is not sufficient enough and downright unusable. I will now add media to my phone using my BB as a flashdrive. How do you manage what is on your phone and who decided that this 'sync' way is the best way to move forward?
Can I downgrade back to Desktop Manager version 5? This is a horrible, HORRIBLE way to get media on your phone.

I agree completely with your statements. Aparently this is the way RIM wants us to handle our Media and when contacted simply state that this is the designed functionality.
I assume that with all the negative feedback they are getting, they will send an update which provides more flexibility, including bringing back the ability to handle encrypted media files.
You can revert back to 5.0.1 by unistalling 6.0 and reinstalling 5.0.1. The software is readily available in the support section of this website.

New to dbms_job concept

Hi all,
I am happy to say that i came to know about DBMS_JOB concept through Oracle Forum..
I Created the job as below
dbms_job.SUBMIT(job =>job_no,
what=>'calculate_attendence;',
next_date=> trunc(sysdate) + (0.001/24),
interval=> 'trunc(sysdate) + (0.001/24) +1');
Now i have to create job that should be fire on every day 12:00:00 AM Using DBMS_JOB.
I give to_char(trunc(sysdate),'dd/mm/yyyy hh:mi:ss AM') instead of trunc(sysdate) +(0.001/24) in NEXT_DATE but it displays error.
I dont know whether next_date support TO_CHAR.
If any one knows this Pls reply..

Analysis Authorization problem (new BI auth concept)

Hi,
I am trying to implement a analysis authorization for controlling the sales organization characteristic.
I am working in a APO system.... when I set a * in the value list for the sales organization ..... I can select characteristic in demanding Planing without problem....
but when I create a whole list of all possible values (selecting from a pop up list) in the analysis authorization like this
I EQ 2000
I EQ 2001
I get a message :
You do not have authorization for all the
characteristic values selected
I will appreciate any idea

Microsoft Office cannot be installed on the iPad, as it is written for different operating systems. But there are applications which are compatible with those in office. All applications are downloaded from the App Store.
