New To BPM

Hello,
I am new to BPM and want to transform some of the Business Processes modeled in Guided Procedures on EP 7.0 currently to BPM . So if you can help to understand how to create new BPM Processes and Map the Workflow in GP.
What needs to be installed , what Portal version and documents on BPM (creating Sample Processes.etc.)
Any help would be highly Appreciated.

You can download the latest 7.3 version.
Check whether these can be of any help:

  • Newsgroup reorganization + New AL BPM Suite Product Center on Dev2Dev

    Hi,
    As you've probably noticed, we've reorganized the BPM newsgroups a little - cutting down on the dozen or two that we had (aqualogic.business.service.*), leaving just five:
    aqualogic.bpm.general
    aqualogic.bpm.modeling (renamed old .project.development)
    aqualogic.bpm.runtime
    aqualogic.bpm.administration (renamed old .bpm.administration)
    aqualogic.bpm.development (renamed old .service.papi)
    We hope this makes it easier for everyone to monitor and contribute. At the same time, we've created a new AquaLogic BPM Suite Product Center on Dev2Dev:
    http://dev2dev.bea.com/albpm/
    Regards,
    Jon
    PS. Here's our intent for the newsgroups:
    * aqualogic.bpm.general
    - announcements, concepts, foundations
    * aqualogic.bpm.modeling
    - process modeling, simulation, importing models, modeling tips
    * aqualogic.bpm.runtime
    - performance, scalability, architecture, monitoring, J2EE
    * aqualogic.bpm.administration
    - installation, deployment, automation, configuration, directory[ALIP]
    * aqualogic.bpm.development
    - process management, version control, configuration

    some newsgroups were renamed, others were archived.
    the screenflows newsgroup (via NNTP) is not available anymore, you should refer to the new names if you want to access via NNTP.
    People reading via RSS should not change anything since the URLs are based on the internal id and not by name.

  • New to BPM: How to get the tasks in the Workspace

    Hi,
    I am new to the BPM and following the book 'Getting_Started_with_Oracle_BPM_Suite_11gR1' and able to follow till the chapter 10.
    I deployed the SaleQuoteLab application to the soa_server and able to login to the BPM workspace. But I am not seeing any tasks (orders) in the workspace. I've loaded the data to my local db. How can I see the BPM tasks in the workspace.
    Please guide me to get the knowledge in BPM.
    Thanks,
    Sree

    Hi Ravi,
    Thanks for providing the info. I tried implementing the Hello World example. But when I deploy the application, I am not seeing the HelloWorld Application link in the BPM workspace.
    In the Deployment & testing section of the Helloworld example, it was mentioned as
    Instantiate the process by clicking the HelloWorldProcess v1.0 link under Applications in the Tasks tab on the left side of the window.
    Note: If the HelloWorldProcess v1.0 link does not appear in the Applications panel on the Tasks tab, click the Process Tracking tab. It should appear there. You can instantiate the process from that tab.
    But I am not seeing the HelloWorldProcess either in Tasks or in Process Tracking tab.

    1.     Open cmd with administrative privileges (Run as administrator) & Install wls1035_generic.jar
    2.     Execute setup.exe of SOA with administrative privileges (Run as administrator)

    The issue was because I was installing Jdev in the same Oracle home “C:\Oracle\Middleware” after step 2 before applying the PS4FP. This corrupted the oracle_common inventory
    A quick way to verify whether your inventory is corrupted is to check the following files:
    •     C:\Oracle\Middleware\oracle_common\inventory\ContentsXML\comps.xml (should be more than approx 2500 lines before patching)
    •     C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_SOA1\inventory\ContentsXML\comps.xml (should be more than approx 1600 lines before patching)

  • New to BPM..Warnings showing while deploying

    Hi all,
    I am new to OBPM.I have been trained and trying to deploy my first helloworldproject..But it showing 2 warnings.
    like
    Error assignee not specified in a particular task.(eg.SayHello.task,ReviewMessage.task)
    Question may be simple but as am new its bit difficult for me.
    So could any one help me out..
    Thanks in advance,
    Vani

    I will edit when I have tested it on my hello world but I am pretty sure that it should work the same way. It bugs out sometimes- I just restart jdev.
    As for you not seeing the application in the workspace:
    - MAke sure you have an initiator task in your project somewhere.
    - Go to organization and map users to users in your WLS
    - Go to EM and right click onto your application -> security -> application roles -> search for the ones in your process and populate them.
    -Make sure you mapped process owner. :)

  • Invoking a web-service through Aqualogic BPM

    I have seen some posts regarding integration of web-services with BPM but could not solve my problem (as I am very new to BPM, just 2 days old :) ).
    I am trying to integrate with the weather web-service whose WSDL is available at http://wsrp.bea.com/portal/boulder/weather.wsdl
    This is what I did
    1. Created a module in the Catalog
    2. Right-clicked on the created module, Catalogue Component -> Web Service and provided the WSDL
    3. Introspection was done and the External Resoures folder was also populated automatically.
    4. I then created a global activity for invoking this web-service.
    But the problem that I am facing is that what method should I write for the global activity that I have created so that the web-service can be invoked.
    Please reply
    Thanks.

    You just need to call the Web service exposed method from the global activity.
    if your module name is WS. The name of the webservice you catalogued is Weather. The service name which you can see when you expand the Weather. Then you will be able to view the exposed method.
    WS.Weather.WeatherService.getWeather

  • How to trigger the start  of activity in BPM Studio 10.3

    Hi
    I am new to BPM Studio 10.3.1.
    I have configured two External Resources
    1)J2EE Application Server: Giving details of the application server on which my JMS Queue resides
    2)JMS Messaging Service: Giving details of the JMS Queue
    I want to trigger the start of BPM process/ activity execution when a message arrives on the configured JMS Queue from an external system.
    How will I be able to listen to that queue?
    Similarly, I would also like to know the steps to post a message to JMS through the activity in BPM Studio.
    Is there any document available that helps in configuring the External Resources other than the Studio Reference guide and User guide.
    Can anyone please help on this?
    Thanks

    I don't know if this is exactly what you're after when you wan't to start an 'activity' with a JMS message,
    If you're searching for a way to start the process, this might be your solution:
    String procId = process.id;
    *// Load the JMS Message in the argument holder*
    m_begin.load(xmlText : message.textValue);
    logMessage("JMS message retrieved from queue: \n" + message.textValue, severity : Severity.DEBUG);
    *// Set the arguments which are sent with the new instance*
    *Any[String] argsIn;*
    argsIn["beginArg"] = m_begin;
    *// Specify the process in which the new instance should be created*
    ProcessInstance.create(processId : procId, arguments : argsIn, argumentsSetName : "BeginIn");
    If you wan't to notify an instance which is in a Wait activity, you can use this:
    *// Putting the message in the paramaters*
    *Any[Any] params;*
    logMessage("JMS message retrieved from queue: \n" + message.textValue, severity : Severity.DEBUG);
    params["waitArg"] = m_wait;
    *String instId = {instance ID};*
    Notification.send(instanceId : instId, activityName : "WaitActivity", argumentSetName : "WaitIn", parameters : params);

  • Help needed in Multiple Receivers sceenarios using BPM

    Hi,
    I am new to BPM. As per my requirement, based on a business logic i may split the messages into two at message mapping. If i have spitted the messages into two, it should go to different receivers. Or if my logic hasnt splitted the mesaage means it should go to any one of the receivers. I also expect response from the receiver system once its done successfully.
    Could you help me how to do this using BPM?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Senthil.

    Hi,
    You can do it without BPM also, by using MultiMapping. If only splitting is required then I would suggest not to use BPM since it will consume much memory. Instead you can use multmapping.
    For Multimapping, go to messages tab in message mapping and select your different target structures and map it as per your requirement. In Integration Directory, go to advanced Interface Determination and proceed.

  • How to trigger Sequence of processes in BPM

    Hi!  I am trying to implement process sequencing with BPM.Its like i have to trigger a set of processes(say 1,2 &3 ) if certain flag in input msg is set.If the flag is not set then processes (1,2&4 ).
          the procecess should occur in a sequence like ..if 1 is completed then it should send ackgmnt and start the 2nd process.
    If any body has worked on similar scenario , please reply :).

    I tried using switch control to check the condition (particular element(say JV) in the input msg is 0or 1 ) .But donno how to get ack and based on ack how to start other process.
                 Let me take an example to make things clear.
    say  1st process is creation of batch No.
           2nd  -
    do -
    of sales order.
           3rd -
    do----
    of STO.
           4th -
    do----
    of SOD(SO dispatch).
    If JV element in input msg is 1 ...flow should be like(1->2->4)
    create BatchNo-> get ack->
    if ack positive(:if ack Negative->end.)->create SO
    ->get ack->if ack positive(:if ack Negative->end.)->create SOD.End.
    If JV =0 say...then similarly 1->2->3 end.
    Not sure if i have to use  while loop .. new to bpm :).Request  to Reply with what controls to be used .

  • BPM and Proxy

    Hi all,
    first all, believe me than I have searched a lot in the SDN about it, but i Can't find answer to my question
    I'm trying to do a simple asynchronous BPM scenario.... SOAP ->BPM -> PROXY
    in mi Integration Process I have defined many "variables" in the container, but all of them referencing to Abstracts message interfaces....
    when, I go to SPROXY transaction, I can't see the message interface for activate it and then write some ABAP code in it.
    If I use a regular interface mapping... with inbound or outbound async message interfaces I can see it on SPROXY, but it doesn't works in the BPM....
    I'm new on BPM world..
    Please Guide me!
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards

    you need to create Outbound and inbound interface.
    After that for those interfaces you need to create related Abstract interfaces.
    So first interface will be OA_ABC then for that AA_ABC and IA_DEF and AA_DEF.
    Then you will be able to see the inbound interface in your SPROXY transaction for coding.
    Thanks,

  • BPM start process from WD UI

    Hi all,
    I am quite new with BPM in the SAP environment and for the moment I am strugling with the start of a process using an WD UI.
    What i have is a simple process with two activities. The process starts with no problems from the respository and also I created a wdsl and managed to start the process from the wsnavigator.
    Now I want to start the process from a simple UI. For that I created a WD component, assigned it to an app and connected to a model. Next I edited my portal to have a new folder with a page that contains my app.
    The UI has to fields and a button. My goal is to use that button to start my process.
    Probably I am doing something wrong when creating the action and maybe someone can help me with the java part on the actual button action.
    Please help. Thank you.
    Regards,
    Stefy

    I've made a lot of research and of course found a lot of forums and help. But for the moment I had some issues with addapting them completely to my situation, since I have to prior experience with this.
    For example I think this is the best solution that I have found so far: /people/arafat.farooqui/blog/2010/06/23/introduction-to-sap-netweaver-bpm-part-6
    but at the following step:
    / Bind the object
    wdContext.nodeRequest_Name().bind(objRequest);
    I can't figure out what is the nodeRequest_Name()...
    couldn't find this "asset" in my WDContext.

  • Process is not visible in BPM Workspace in Application panel 2

    Hi dear developers,
    I had a problem about BPM process. I was trying to implement this tutorial -> http://st-curriculum.oracle.com/obe/fmw/obpm/11g/r1/firstProcess/firstprocess_obpm11g.htm#t3
    And all the steps had been done. But the deployment step, i couldn't see my process on the BPM Workspace. I searched the other opinions in the forum. It's completely same with this thread -> Process is not visible in BPM Workspace in Application panel
    Nevertheless, couldn't find anything helpful. Could you help me please?
    Thanks in advance.
    Erdo

    Hi Erdo
    I hope you already ran the demo community seed app to create all the test users and groups etc in the default authenticator. If not, please see this below post:
    Re: New to BPM: How to get the tasks in the Workspace
    1. First login into bpm/workspace with domain adminstrator username/password. Then on right side, click on Adminstration link and see if you could see all the roles related to hello world app and also the users that you added to those roles.
    One other very basic thing is, you should and must deploy the TaskForms project that has all the taskdetails UI pages. I hope you did this while deploying the workflow and checking the check boxes to deploy other ui projects also.
    If seeding and getting demo uses is confusing, you can always use your own users. From weblogic console, create some extra users like weblogic1, weblogic2, weblogic3 etc with some password. Then use these users to assign to the roles from hello world app. Then login with these users. This will also work.
    Thanks

  • BPM Enterprise - Can's see the Deploy

    Hello all
    I am new to BPM and i am trying to deploy into bpm enterprise and i hope somebody could help me
    I have installed and configured everything needed (weblogic server, bpm enterprise, bpm studio) and i configured and i have created a bpm directory service, bpm domain, etc (using the configuration wizard)
    I am trying to deploy a sample proyect. I followed the admin guid and i deployed using Process Administrator --> Proyects, deploy etc (i used the option smart publish)
    How can i access my deployed application???
    I accessed to workspace application (using the admin account so that i have admin privileges and i can see all the deployments) and i don't see my deploy :(
    Am I missing or doing something wrong?
    Thanks in advance to all :)

    Hi,
    In the web based Process Administration tool, add a 'test' participant. Assign this participant all the roles inside your process.
    Log into the Workspace using this new participant. If this doesn't work try starting and stopping the Engine from the Process Administration tool.
    Hope this helps,
    Dan

  • Issue with BPM

    Hi experts ,
                                I have a requirement which is very simple to BPM experts and many similar blogs are available in SDN.
    The issue is mine is a file to idoc scenario,  8 files in a folder of different structure and 1 idoc in target. The 8 files have 2 fields in common , which I need to correlate so as to meet the business requirement .
            It's a ones in a day scenario, and the scenario needs all 8 files altogether for idoc.  My requirement is , I wish to put all 8 files in a data type and create a single service interface . What I wish to avoid is creation of multiple receiver determinations ( since if i create 8 seperate data types then there would be 8 abstract service interfaces ) .
       Is it possible. Because for corelation , atleast 2 abstract Service Interfaces are required. My knowledge is limited and I am new in BPM. any similar standard pattern available?? I tried collect and payload , but none meet my requirement.
       Please suggest.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Arnab,

    Hi Arnab,
    you build a DT that hold all structures that you have.
    You create an inbound interface (abs) for the bpm and an outbound interface (abs) for the bpm.
    than you do the work inside bpm.
    it is not possible to do so with one interface.
    correlation in bpm is simple, you just need a field that is unique in order to use it for correlation.
    There is no need for multiple receivers, the bpm will be the only one.
    after bpm is finished you configure another receiver determination for bpm 2 idoc.
