New to Droid, have a downloaded music question....

I downloaded some music and after I am done listening to a song, I am unable to "stop" the music.  I only have an option to "pause" and then it continues to show playing in the background.  Aside from manually killing the app, how can I stop it?

Thank you for your post wildman. In addition,  we want to add that once you exit the music player,  it will usually close automatically in 15-30 minutes.

  • I have an Iphone 3 I have been downloading music

Can anyone help me, I have an iphone 3, i have been downloading music & ringtones from itunes onto it, they stay in my phone for a day then go, I go into my ipod and the contents is empty

The iOS settings for the iPhone 3 never had an option to determine how long you wanted to save messages. That settings is new to iOS8. As far as some being deleted, there is nothing about the phone that should delete messages without some user intervention. Try a reset on the phone, this will not affect your data. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot.

  • Itunes has deleted my downloaded music. I still have my purchased songs in my library and I still have my downloaded music on my computer but the downloaded songs don't show up in my library. How do I fix this?

itunes has removed my downloaded music from my library. I still have all of my purchased songs and videos but the downloaded songs are missing. I still have the downloaded songs on my cpu just not in my itunes library anymore. How do I get these songs back in my itunes library?

Copy them from the other user account you were logged in with to your own account.  Or if you are using iTunes 10.3 or later and live in the use, redownload them via iCloud beta.  See this article for more information.

Can anyone please help me? • Why do I have to download music to my IPad2 from a NAS server instead of streaming?

I am using a Buffalo Linkstation where all my files including ITunes Music is stored. There is an APP from Buffalo to access the files on the NAS with my IPad. To listen to the music I have to download the music to the IPad first. But what I am looking for is to just stream the music. What am I doing wrong?

    1. Get a third-party multimedia player supporting streaming - tons of them do. What sharing protocols does your NAS support? UPnP? FTP? SMB? AFP maybe?
    2. you mentioned iTunes. Is it also active (is your desktop switched on) when you're trying to stream? Then, you can use the even-easier iTunes Sharing.

  • New Computer - how do I download music

OK - I posted a similar question in the past, but I'm still not real sure if I can do what I'm hoping. The original computer that I was downloading my music from crashed. I have a new computer now and have iTunes up and running and have even purchased some music. Can someone help me with how to get this music from my new computer/music library uploaded onto my iPod without losing what is already there from the original computer? P.S. I did have the iPod on the manual option before the original computer crashed - if that's helpful. Basically, I want to use the new computer exclusively now, but not lose the music that I uploaded from the music library on the original computer. Can this be done? And if yes, how???

Ok. Since you're syncing the iPod to a new computer, the first thing that the sync does is erase everything already on the iPod. But then it copies everything from iTunes on the computer over to the iPod. It's not the most efficient way to do things, but it keeps the record companies from accusing Apple of fostering music piracy.
Since you've already copied your music onto the computer and loaded it into your new copy of iTunes, you have nothing to lose by letting the iPod sync to the new library. If your iPod is acting odd, you can reset it to factory specs with the iPod updater.
The first time you sync with the new library it will take quite a while to copy everything. You may want to start the sync at night before you go to bed and let the computer and iPod sync overnight. Depends on how much music you have.
If you can play your purchased music on your computer (i.e. the computer is authorized), then the purchased music will be moved to your iPod.
As long as your library isn't bigger than the capacity of your iPod, iTunes will pretty much take care of everything for you.

  • Everytime I open a new tab I have unwanted background music playing. win 7 64 Firefox 32.0.3

Idiotic system requires me to become a member? only thread does not post a solution to stop annoying background music when opening a new tab.
How do I stop whatever is causing background music to play when I open a new tab in Firefox 32.0.3?
I do not have any add ons....

    Update Flash and Silverlight:
    Version 5.4.2.18903
    Shockwave Flash 13.0 r0
    5.1.30514.0
Also may want to reset Firefox just in case there is an issue with changed preferences.
If that is not the case I also recommend a malware scan.
Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

  • I've just downloaded itunes on a new computer, and I'm downloading music from the cloud, but it seems to stick on certain songs and won't download them at all, stopping at a certain point. How do I get round this?

    Hi all,
I've just downloaded itunes onto a new computer, and I'm currently downloading previously owned music from the cloud. However, it keeps sticking on various songs - it will get part of the way through and just stop, this seems to happen to about 1 in 10 songs. How do I get round this?
Also, once I've finished dowloading from the cloud, how do I get my library to display only the songs I've downloaded, and not all the other ones that I don't want anymore?
    Cheers, Alex

If you have the latest iTunes, an easy way to create a new library is to hold down the 'alt' key whilst opening iTunes (for Macs), or hold down the 'shift' key (for Windows).
This will give you the option of either using the current iTunes library or creating a new one.
There are various methods of transferring different songs to different iPods with a single iTunes library.
One is to manage the songs manually.
With this setting, you can drag and drop songs/playlists etc onto the iPod from iTunes, and also delete and/or edit songs which are currently on the iPod without affecting the iTunes library.
If you wish to keep the convenience of automatic sync, then you could set the iPods to sync with "selected playlists". This setting can be found in the iPod summary screen under the 'music' tab. With this setting, different playlists can be transferred and later deleted from each iPod without affecting any playlists stored in iTunes or the playlists on the other iPods.
Also, on the 'summary' main page you will see the option to "only sync checked items". With this setting selected, if you remove the check marks from any songs in iTunes, they will not be transferred to the iPod. You can restore the check mark if you want to put the songs back on the iPod at a later date.
Be aware that when playing songs in iTunes, any songs that do not have a check mark against them will be skipped over and will not be played.
