New to garageband and having some issues
Hi. I have a series of files that I am working with and I thought GB would be a good fit to edit them in. I am importing a lot of taped information into GB to edit but I want to be able to break the imported tapes apart into a series of files. Right now I have each tape imported as one file, one track. Each file though may have ten different parts that I would like to break apart into their own files so i can mix the different parts together. So I would go from one master track of 60 minutes to 6 individual files of 10 minutes each. Then I could mix the various files together in a new track to create new files.
My question is how do I split one track into separate files so for example, I would take five minutes out of a 50 minutes track, break that five minute section off into it's own track then be able to save that track as it's own file to be used later? I hope I'm explaining this well enough. Right now I can break the long master track into separate tracks to use but I can't figure out how to save those broken up tracks as their own file without including all the master track information along with it which makes the individual tracks a lot larger than they should be. Any ideas? Thanks.

New To Nokia And Having Some issues With N79
Hi
I have bought a Nokia for the first time ever and fancied a change from Sony Ericsson due to software issues, however i have been experiencing a few issues with my N79.
When listening to Music in the Music Player and change track, the phone will crash and keep restart it's self, so i tried searching online for the issue and didn't find much help, so i tried doing a Soft Reset wich didn't work.
I then tried a Hard Reset and have noticed some icons are missing and the preinstalled Wallpapers, Ringtones and Videos have been deleted.
I then downloaded and installed Nokia Software Updater and tried re-installing the phones software (wich is 11.049.53.1) thinking i would get back the Wallpapers, Ringtones and Videos ect but that didn't work...
And now the phone has developed another bug... Whenever i use the GPS it asks to go online and i click yes, the phone will just crash and restart and i have to take the battery out to get it to go off.
So far i am NOT very happy with the phone concidering the price i payed for it and having more software issues to deal with...
Any help would be appreciated...Which map do you mean ??? And will it restore all the preinstalled content ???
Ive only had this phone a week after paying nearly £300 and im having trouble with it already...

Brand new to Mac and having some issues with my MBP mid 2012
I am hoping someone can offer some advice to me, I am about ready to tear my hair out. I bought a mid 2012 MBP from best buy open box for $2000, it is the model with the 750gig hard drive and 8 gigs of ram. I has Mountain Lion on it and I have done all the software upgrades. I do not have a lot of software installed on it but it does not seem to be running right. I have had it about three weeks or a month and it appeared to be running okay most of the time.
I tried putting parallels 8 on it so I could run some of my windows apps and I installed windows 8 and nothing else and it brought the laptop to a stand still it was crawling so slow I unistalled the software. The past few days I have noticed that when I open the lid and it wakes from sleep the keyboard and mouse are unresponsive for upto a minute.
However today has been the worse by far. I am trying to copy some files about 300 gigs worth from a external drive to my hard drive so I can reformat the drive and while it is copying I am not able to do anything, surf the web, use word or anything because anything I try to do locks the computer up for several minutes or I have to force quit. The voice dictation feature no longer works when I press fn twice, nothing happens at all.
Is this normal, I mean I am very disappointed that a $2000 computer cant copy some files and surf the internet or type a word doc at the same time. Do I have a bad mac or am I expecting to much????? I am a therapist and use this laptop to take and store all my client notes I bought a mac because I need something dependable and reliable.
If this is not normal what do you suggest?That would be your best bet. There is a reason someone returned it. Most people that buy a Mac, except me, never return them. Even if they don't run right. So for someone to return that unit they either didn't care for Mac OS X (that is why I return the first 2 I had) or there was something very wrong with it.

New fios customer as of today and having some issues.
Just had fios tv and internet installed today. I understand with there is going to be a learning curve and have done some searching however I have not found a solution. I also contacted online support but was told the system is down and they basically couldnt do anything.
First thing we noticed is that our living room box 1.9- qip-6416-p2 wont display the guide in full screen. It only shows us one hour ahead and is cut off on the sides with black bars. This is a 52" wide screen and the settings on the box are set correctly.. This is when it is set to full mode on the guide.
The box in the bedroom qip-7100p2 displays the guide fine in full mode
I have reset the box and the router and this did not help.
I also have a problem trying to acces the dvr information online both boxes display BAD GATEWAY..
I am also unable to use my android phone as a remote. It tells me the last four digits of my number are incorrect.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. In the meantime I suppose ill do some more searching. Thank you.
EDIT: Just found some information regarding the 6xxx boxes saying they do not support the HD guide format? Is this true?
I hope to get the issues solved fast. I still havent canceled charter and DTV but would sure like to.
EDIT: AND now as of a few minutes ago the router had just rebooted all own its own... i hope this isnt a sign of things to come.Brian I am sorry that you are having these problems. You are correct about the 6xxx boxes not able to get the guide in HD format and the chop off. We can remedy this. I have sent you a private message to get more information from you.

I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account. I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there. On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back. Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email. The device is currently useless.
The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option? -

Plug your iPod in and when it appears in iTunes, click on it from under Devices in the left hand pane. This brings you to the Summary tab. Locate and click on the Music tab. What configurations do you have made from under this tab? Is your iPod configured to sync those playlists?

I am having some issues with email. My iphone shows 4 emails as unread yet when I look thru all my emails, both on my iPhone5 and my outlook there are no unread emails. How do I clear this up on my phone?
Email does not and has never synced between the iPhone and the computer. It sounds like you may have had your PC set up to use POP3 for e-mail, which will download e-mail from the server and delete it, causing it to vanish from your phone if the phone was set up for IMAP. IMAP provides full synchronization between the server and clients. What you delete on one will vanish from the others. This is the preferred method of managing e-mail as it prevents e-mail from being downloaded, for example, on a PC and making it inaccessible on your phone.

What version of Solman are you using ? Check in t-code Rz20 >ccms monitor template of satelliate system , there would be option to monitor your outbound mails .You can sutomise your monitorig metrics in solman 7.1 else in 7.01 you use auto reaction methods to monitor .

New hard drive and Windows 7 issues
I bought a new 1 Tetra Samsung hard drive for my computer since 150GB was not enough. I did this because I need windows partitioned for school. After I installed the hard drive and inserted the Mac OS disk, it would not recognize the hard drive to install. Now, the issue is: I went ahead and installed my Windows XP SP2 because I could not get Mac OS to install. I have also downloaded the Windows 7 Professional update from Microsoft and have a Operating Disk on its way in the mail. I am having some issues with sound and camera and probably others that I don't know about yet, like my graphics card and such. What should I do?
1. Erase HD and install the Mac OS, because I do want this on my computer. Then download updates for Windows 7 bootcamp and reinstall Windows 7 when I get it in the mail.
or,
2. Is there a way to fix the driver issues that I am having without having to reinstall windows. I have not tried to partition yet and install mac.
I think it would be best to:
Install Mac OS
Download updates
Bootcamp and Install Windows 7
What do you think and do you have any advice as how I should go about this. Oh, btw, living in a PC world and coming home to my Macbook Pro 3,1 and realizing that it is not as functional is kinda disappointing.

I am not sure how to go about installing a new driver. Do I download and save or do I run a certain .exe?
I found this post and was reading, but I am not certain about the right driver for the sound. If I erase the hard drive and install mac. Then, bootcamp and install windows, will I loose my wifi driver? Windows 7 should have that update, but according to this post, it may not.
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2534313If I were in your shoes I would want to understand why I couldn't install OSX on the internal drive before going any further. Without getting past that hurdle you may or may not be successful in your aims, but you are outside mainstream intended ways of running Bootcamp.
Just a couple of starters:-
1. Is your internal hard drive (samsung) formatted with a GUID partition table and HFS+ file system? All done in Disk Utility, booted from the Install disk.
2. The Apple Install disk (plus subsequent Apple Software Updates) has all the drivers Bootcamp needs, without having to find and download from elsewhere. I run Windows 7 64 bit on two Macs and have never had to go and find a driver. (Of course Windows does it automatically for me for other hardware). Sorry if this next point is insultingly obvious, but just to check that you know you can put the Apple Install Disk in while running Windows and Windows find the installer.
You don't say anything what your MBP is or what version of OSX you are running. I am not fully up to date with the inplications of Lion and Bootcamp drivers as there is no install disk. I believe 2011 MBPs won't run XP.

Although Macs are easy to pick up and use, there is a LOT to learn about customisation and using it properly and getting the most out of them. I have a number of relatives who still use OSX "out of the box"....it's like driving a car in first gear, and complaining "this car doesn't go very fast". Not a perfect analogy as speed is not the issue here.

Using Canopus ADVC110 analog to digital converter.
VTR on.
Dipswitch 2 is on. Camcorder is NTSC.
Using RCA cables to connect to front of Canopus.
9pin firewire on MacBook Pro to 6pin firewire on back of Canopus.
Held the input select button for 25 seconds since copyright not an issue (home movies).
Opened Garageband and played some. Quit. Reopened IMovie.
Still can't get color. Can see video but color not solid.
Any ideas?Thanks for getting back to me. I've tried two different yellow RCA cables and went out and bought a yellow composite cable on one end and the S-video on the other to connect to the ADVC110. Still didn't work. The picture comes through but the color is not quite there. I tried connecting camcorder directly to the TV via the yellow RCA cables and same thing so now I'm wondering if it's the camcorder or the analog to digital tv issue. I'm almost ready to give up.

Just activated BlueAnt S4 with my iPhone4 and having an issue with the Phone Commands - as I have multiple numbers for people (ie: iPhone, Work, Home), is it the BlueAnt that is having the issues or the iPhone? Tried to eliminate info on my partner's contact in with only 2 contact numbers (iPhone, Home) and one or the other is totally screwing up. Seems, from BlueAnt website, that it would be the iPhone contacts...and the guessing begins?!! Anyone else have similar issues when BlueAnt S4 was paired and giving 'Phone Commands'?? Any suggestions would be beneficial as I've spent way too much time on the web looking for a good fix/answer. Thanks.

You should be able to read NTFS formatted drives, just not write to them. For that matter, USB Flash drives generally come formatted NTFS for use with PC's and they have to be able to mount on a Mac in order to reformat them for Mac use. The Windows utilities supplied on those Flash drives will be deleted when the drive is reformatted for Mac use so I routinely copy them to the Mac desktop first before reformatting.
