My new Canon Pixma 7250 wireless printercan no longer find my wireless network. (It worked fine until recently) I have a Yosemite 10.10.2. I've run diagnostics and the Canon LAN printer setup routine many times. Is there a solution? Can anyone help?

Turn of the MG and unplug the power cord. Leave it off for about a minute and then reconnect the power cord and turn the power back on. Wait while the device attempts to reconnect to your wireless network - the blue wifi symbol on the MG will flash and then stay on once it has connected. If it keeps flashing then you will have to reconnect the MG to your wireless access point via the control panel on the MG.

  • Print Problems on new Canon Pixma 100 Pro

I have a new canon pixma 100 pro pinter and want to print the best possible prints. Can someone point me to a detailed description of how to print in Aperture including the use of icc profiles (the difference between using icc profiles and printer managed printing, how to turn off color management in a printer driver.  Also difference between Relative Colorimetric vs Perceptual settings in the print window.  What is black point compensation and what does it do?

You are asking for print management 101, you really should get a book like Jeff Schewe's or a video:

  • New Canon Pixma ip4600 won't show on my Airport Express printer list

    Hi,
I've just had to replace my old Pixma ip4000 printer with a new ip4600 printer. The printer has set-up on my iMac and Macbook but it does not show in Airport Utility in the printers section. I've tried unplugging the printer from the USB and unplugging the AE but whichever combination I try it does no good. All ok on the usb direct to the computer.
I've followed many of the support articles to no avail. Can somebody help please? Until the printer shows on the AE I'm unable to print wirelessly.
    Regards,
    Colin Ashworth

    Hi Colin,
As you have said in your post, until you can get the Express to recognise the iP4600 as being connected via USB, you will not be able to add the printer. And note that you cannot use the More Printers > Canon IJ Network facility - this is for Canon's that are connected via Ethernet or wireless to the network.
Are you using the same USB cable to connect the iP4600 to the Express as you are for connecting directly to the Mac's USB? If not, then try another USB cable.
If you are using the same cable, then has the Express got a reset button? I know the Extreme's do and I'm thinking that possibly the Express is still expecting the iP4000 on the USB. If there is no button then you could a factory reset via the Airport utility. You could also check if there are any updates for the Express.

  • New Canon Pixma MG2220 printer - install problems on Windows XP

I bought a new Pixma MG2220 printer and received it 2 days ago. I followed the instructions and installed it from the provided CD on my 10 year old Compaq S4020WM desktop computer upgraded with 1GB RAM and 1TB hard drive running Windows XP SP3.
The CD installation took a very long time to complete (maybe an hour or so) and things did not work right. In particular the My Image Garden software was very slow and sluggish to respond. So I downloaded and installed the latest drivers and software from the Canon website on top of the existing installation, which did not help. The My Image Garden software began crashing completely with an error message about a bad .dll file. After talking to Canon tech support on the telephone, the support tech admitted that this software CD was probably not compatible with my old XP computer. The My Image Garden software uses like 500MB RAM which is too much resources for my machine. So the rep had me uninstall My Image Garden.
At that point I decided to uninstall everything and start over from scratch because something was obviously not right. For example, the Canon MP drivers were using 755 MB RAM, which seemed much too large. Obviously things had not installed properly from the setup CD, in general. The date on the setup CD was 2011, so apparently it was 2 years old, and long out of date!?
So I uninstalled everything except the Canon registration and onscreen user manual. I also kept Windows Adobe RGB 1998 because I didn't see any way to uninstall it. I also uninstalled .NET 4 which the setup CD had said was necessary, as well as Microsoft XPS EP which My Image Garden had also told me was needed. Then I cleaned up my computer as well as possible with help of Revouninstaller and Ccleaner, which was necessary because things were very messy with many uninstalled remnants and incorrect registry entries. I feel lucky to have survived those tasks without having to reinstall my op system. It wasn't easy.
Then I installed the following 2 modules (only) downloaded from the Canon website:
    MG2200 series MP Drivers Ver. 1.01 (Windows 8/8...         01/31/13     14.07 MB
    File Name: mp68-win-mg2200-1_01-ejs.exe
This file is a driver for Canon IJ multifunction printers. You can install the following items of the software: MP Drivers: The driver for Canon IJ multifunction printer. IJ Scan Utility: The software that allows you to easily scan photos, documents, etc.
    *My Printer Ver. 3.1.0 (Windows 8/8 x64/7/7 x64/...         01/07/13     5.12 MB
    File Name: mypr-win-3_1_0-ea11_2.exe
This file allows you to easily change the settings such as the paper source settings and provides you with information on how to solve problems such as ink smudging.
I believe that's everything required to access all of the print, copy, and scan operations of this MG2220 printer. Based on my current understanding, I would classify everything else as optional. I use free Irfanview for editing and manipulation of images, which seems a satisfactory substitute for the other software.
I did not reinstall .NET 4 or Microsoft XPS EP, because apparently they're only required if you install the My Image Garden and/or Quick Menu modules. I also did not reinstall the Easy-WebPrint EX module which apparently only applies to printing with the Internet Explorer browser, while I primarily use Firefox, Chrome, or Opera browsers. And of course I did not reinstall My Image Garden nor the Quick Menu, which were so problematical originally.
On the bright side, the Canon MP drivers appeared to install correctly this time, using only 35 MB RAM (vs 755 MB previously). Also the Canon IJ Scan utility was reinstalled automatically as a part of that driver installation process. Those items have their own shortcuts. I found it useful to make one additional shortcut via Start > Settings > Printers and Faxes > "Canon MG2220 series printer", to allow easy access to all of the internal printer settings and variables. Like I said, I believe this is all that's required, in addition to some image manipulation software such as Irfanview. I deal mostly with documents and never print photos nor use cameras. Those who have large photo collections and/or cameras may need something like My Image Garden or Easy-PhotoPrint EX.
I previously used Lexmark printers for the prior 10+ years, where everything is controlled by software from the computer. I never had to use the buttons on the printer. That's obviously different with this Canon printer, which will take some getting used to.
I'm disappointed that there's apparently no way to enlarge or reduce the % copy size with this model. Is there? I also don't find any setting for lighter/darker when making copies. Is there? There are apparently no other enhancements or filters available when copying. Are there? Similarly, scanning seems remarkably unversatile with this model and I can't find any way to set a scan for ligher/darker or apply various enhancements/filters. Are there?
The printing seems OK, but I must still decide whether the very limited copy and scan options will be sufficient to my needs. I'm not sure yet. I might take it back for a refund and get something better, if I knew what was better. That's another research project. Suggestions?
    Thanks for any feedback.

Thanks for your info but the MG5420 is more than twice the cost at my local Walmart and Staples stores.
I thought I was being smart to buy the MG2220 as a later model(?), but it looks like the prior model MG2120 has more copier and scanner features according to the online specs at the Canon website (see copies below).
For example the MG2120 allows 25%-400% reduction/enlargement when copying, while the MG2220 does not. Can you verify this?
Also does the MG2120 allow for setting copying to lighter/darker? (I don't understand that complicated technical lingo in the specs.)
    Thanks.

  • Photoshop CS4 won't print on a new Canon Pixma Pro 10 - Mac Yosemite -

New Epson Pixma Pro 10. Printer works well with other applications, but just sends out blank pages when printing from Adobe Photoshop CS4. Canon suggested I use their plug, Print Studio Pro, and this worked with a file with layered images and text. However, it would not work with a file that had 3 text layers (two of which were hidden) unless I flattened the image. According to Canon, the plug in is supposed to work only with jpegs, but it did work with psd and tifs (when flattened). Any ideas on how I can get it to work directly from Photoshop.

Thanks for your help - I did find and download the Photoshop update to 11.0.2 and went to the Yosemite developer page you mentioned and do not see how to download the update, so I guess I will just have to wait for that to be released.
That's fine, you should do OK with Yosemite 10.10.1.
I'm glad you found the CS4 11.0.2 update.  I nearly hit the roof when I read another post of yours with the "suite auto updates" nonsense after I had explained to you why one cannot rely on Adobes utterly useless auto updaters.
The hapless Adobe auto updater team in India began to get their act together only as of the CS6 updates, but they are back to their unparalleled incompetence in CC and CC2014.
In case you missed it, here's the link to the latest Canon Printer Drivers v3.1 for OS X from Apple, available to the general public, which sounds a lot newer than what you have.  There's no reason for you to stick to "Print Studio 1.3.6" whatever that may be.

  • My new Canon Pixma MG7520 isn't listed in printer preferences.

Just purchased a Canon Pixma MG7520 wireless Print-Copy-Scan  After spending all morning on the phone with Canon support, numerous tries and reboots of printer, router, airport and iMac, the Canon printer still does not show up when I try to add a printer in print prefs.  The router and printer are talking to each other, and the printer recognizes our airport network. I've already lost 3/4 of a day trying to figure out what to do next.  Anyone else have this issue?

Plug the printer directly into the computer to make sure it is working. (Should have USB to allow direct connection).
If it works go through the setup again via wireless to the airport. What IP does it get?
Please ping the printer IP from the computer.. it will often fail if the name used in the airport is typical apple name.
Please use all SMB names.. that means.. Short.. <8 characters please.. no spaces and pure alphanumerics.
Passwords can be the same rules but >8 characters.
If you still have trouble test briefly with no password at all.. if you still have issues the Canon printer might be having wireless issues.

  • My Macbook Pro will not find or use the downloaded driver for my new Canon Pixma MX479 wireless printer

I have been fussing for hours with a Canon Pixma MX479 printer I received as a gift. The printer was obviously designed for PC control, and has terrible instructions for setting up the wireless capability, but I finally found a few hints online about how to add a WPS printer to my Airport Extreme, so I can finally detect the printer. However, when I try to add the printer, either under System Preferences or while just doing a print, my MacBook requires that I download a driver from Apple to use it. When I attempt to do that, I get a message the driver software is unavailable from Apple and that I should contact the manufacturer for the driver. I have already downloaded and installed the Mac OS driver from Canon twice, but my MacBook apparently can't find it. So I am forced to use Airprint in order to communicate with the printer. I would like to use the proper software to make sure I am accessing all of the features the printer offers. Can anyone tell me how to associate the downloaded driver with my printer when I am attempting to add it?

  • How can I get iMac to recognize Canon Pixma mp990 printer wirelessly?

Although my Canon Pixma MP990 printer/scanner shows I've properly set it up for wifi, and the blue wifi light illuminates on the printer, my iMac now refuses to recognize that my printer is connected. Imac now shows the printer as offline.  When the printer was set up for corded/wired connection, the Imac worked fine with it. How can I get iMac to recognize the wireless printer setup? Thanks!

    Hi ..
    Then click  Wireless Help
Make sure the printer is recognized in System Preferences > Print & Scan > Print
If not, download and install the drivers designated for the mp990 model.
In the System Preferences > Print & Scan > Print window, click + (plus) to add the printer.

  • Macbook Air and the Canon Pixma MG2200

    Hi,
I moved to England and am still using a Macbook Air from the US. I recently purchased a Canon Pixma MG2200 printer and would like to use it...however it will not work on my mac. I've download the necessary software, restarted my computer, purchased the correct usb chords, etc. It just simply won't appear on my computer at all. Any advice?

I had a similar problem with my Canon printer but after it had been working.  It stopped wirelessly connecting to my MBA but did connect wirelessly to our MacBook.  I turned it and my MBA off, waited, turned them back on and it did not fix the problem.  Then we had some electrical work done on the house and the power was out for 15 minutes.  That fixed it!  So the first action I suggest you unplug it, wait a minute or more and then plug it in again.
I found it useful to install the software form the CD provided with the printer rather than downloading the drivers.  The download options were confusing with different drivers for different functions and the scanner did not work from the System Preferences > Print & Scan menu until I installed the software from the CD.
If all else fails contact Canon.  It could be DOA and clearly is covered under the Canon warranty.

  • I cannot install my new Canon Pixma Mg2120 on my laptop. What driver do I need to do it?

I am having problems installing my new printer onto my laptop that has Windows 8 on it.  The CD that came with it will not install saying that the driver is being used by another user on this computer. I am the only user.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • New Canon Pixma MP450 Networked????

Ok...I've got three Macs in the house: dual 1.25 MDD upstairs, iMac in my son's room, and a 12" Powerbook. I've got everything set up using a US Robotics MaxG Router/Print Server. Everything works great including sharing the Canon MP450 from the main MDD upstairs system in the office.
Well, I started reading about the print server part of the router and decided that it would be a better idea to have it hooked up that way instead of having the upstairs MDD heater always on when we need to print. I set the printer up straight to the USB of the router/print server. The problem is that when i go to set up the printers on each system, there isn't a PPD for this printer. It always wants to pick a generic....The system can see the printer but just doesn't do anything...I guess i'm asking, can I download the PPD for this Canon? I've already updated the router to the latest firmware and printer dirver...
    Thanks much,
    Robert

The limitation to standard networking is the Canon driver. It was written to support USB only.
I think www.printfab.net is your best hope for a network-capable (CUPS) driver, but your model isn't yet listed there.

  • New Canon Pixma Pro-100 printing with streaks on backgrounds

Hello.  I just purchased the printer last week.  I'm operating on a MacBook Air.  I typically use LightRoom and Photoshop.
I'm a professional photographer and recently look a class at ICP and learned how to print there.  I was shocked at how beautiful the prints were.  This was using an Epson in a classroom.
I did my research and talked to other photographers and decided the Pro-100 would be perfect for me, and so far, it is.
I've had trouble with magenta casts when using LightRoom.  Switched to PhotoShop and got better results.  But some prints, especially those with a simple, plain background, faint lines appear across the page.
Here's an example.  The lines appear top to bottom every 1/4 inch or so:
