New to MAC, 2 itunes accounts, need to streamline ?!?!

Hello
I have a brand new macbook, and I have and ipod touch, in the past I had 2 accounts.
I would like to streamline both devices on new mac, on one itunes account.
I am not understanding how I can combine these for one itunes account/sign on?
I did get message to authorize this computer, not sure what next step should be?
I have 900 songs I can't afford to do the wrong thing!
Thanks so much

You cannot combine iTunes accounts into one single account.
You can add all items from each account into your iTunes library and authorize iTunes for both iTunes accounts.

It is easy to download items you have purchased from iTunes again; this article will walk you through it: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
You want the "Apps on iOS" section.

I would recommend you use a program called senuti that allows you to copy your songs over to a new computer from an iPod. Unfortunatlly you have to pay for the full version but it allows you to have 1000 free song capacity of copying over and a movie counts as the capacity of 1 song.

Yes, I think you have to purchase it.
Once, I downloaded 'Keynote' from a torrent site. İt had a malicious code. My computer stopped working then. When I uninstalled it and deleted all the files related to it, my computer started woring again.

does new 2012 mac pro ssd need trim enabler

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
If they need TRIM (I think that the flash storage included with the MacBook Pro does not need TRIM), Apple turns it on by default with the MacBook.
However, there are some people that doesn't recommend TRIM because it may hurt (rather than improve) performance > http://blog.macsales.com/11051-to-trim-or-not-to-trim-owc-has-the-answer

  • HT1146 I have a NEW e-mail provider. I must CHANGE this on my Apple & iTunes account - need HELP !

I haved moved after 38 years in the same place.
I have changed e-mail addresses and cannot seem to get Apple to leave my OLD address alone. In trying to fix this, I have changed my password several times, and am now having a really bad time even getting into my iTunes account etc.  Need some help here.
    Thanks, Brian

I'm assuming OS X here based on the choice of forum, and not iOS based on the footer.
Please do not repeatedly change passwords or repeatedly fail passwords logins, or you'll risk triggering the evasion processing.
I'd expect Apple to send a confirming email message to the old email address when you manage your AppleID data over to the new email address, but the selection should otherwise remain.  The mail message sent to the old address is intended to notify the user, should the account have been highjacked.
The email address is not tied to the AppleID password.  Other than you'll need the password to log in and change the saved email address.
You'll have various prompts for passwords around Safari and iTunes that might remember the old OS X settings via your local Keychain, and you'll be changing those as you log in.  (That's your local system applying defaults, and not anything at Apple.)  You can either change those as you log in, or you can open Keychain Access and (carefully!) find and remove the old entries.  (I'd strongly encourage making a backup of your keychain or of your system before deleting old Keychain entries.)
If something else is going on and you've verified the email settings are correct on your account, then you'll probably want to contact the folks at Apple directly.

  • Old computer died need to make new computer main iTunes account

My main PC died and I now my laptop is my main computer. I need to make this computer the main computer for my iTunes account. How do you do this?

There are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

  • HT1338 I transfered IPad from PC to Mac...de-authorized and signed in...found ITunes has both my music and music from the previous ITunes account even though it was also de-authorized and signed out and a new sign in ITunes account....

My wife and I decided to switch PC's.  She had an Mac Pro and I had a PC.  Both of us have Itunes (Ipad, Iphones).   She moved her ITunes library to a new PC and de-authorized and signed out from her old Mac Pro.  She signed in and authorized her new PC.  I took her Mac Pro and followed the same process.  In the end we both found our ITunes library mix in with each others music and books.  Despite the fact we are both signed in to our own ITunes account.  Seems like the devices (IPad, etc.) stays linked to the original computer....these devicdes did not contain mix Itunes library (eve after they were synced).

    - You can only sync an iPod to one iTunes library/computer. You can however, manually manage music and videos among different libraries.
Go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device>Set up Syncing>Sync your device manually and follow the instructions.
    - If y wnat to switch syncing libraries/computer see:
go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device>Set up Syncing>Sync your device manually and follow the instructions.

If all the synced media like music is in the iTunes library of the second computer it is very easy.

  • New laptop set up with new itunes account, need to change it.

I purchased a new macbook pro for my daughter.  Up to now we shared an itunes account, the associate helping us convinced us to set up her new laptop with a new itunes account.  The associate made it seem like it would be easy to transfer the music from one account to another.  I'm now finding out that is not the case.  Is there a way to change how her computer is set up?  I'm thinking if we set up my itunes account on her computer she will be able to access her music.

Locate the song files in the Finder, move them to the USB drive, take the USB drive to the new computer, drag the files to the internal drive, and from there into the open iTunes application window.

  • How do I move DVD digital copies from my iphone to a new computer's itunes account, same Apple ID?

I just got a MacBook Pro and I also have an iphone. My current main itunes is on a PC that I will not use any longer. I have several movies on my iphone which came with DVD's as digital copies, not purchased through itunes store.
In the past, I've lost these kinds of movie digital copies through syncing my phone on a new computer. I don't want this to happen again but I am totally lost since these are not itunes purchases.
How can I sync my iphone on my new mac's itunes and not "erase and replace" all the movies currently on my phone? Or how can I get them onto my Mac's itunes account so when I do sync my iphone, they'll still be there?
    Thanks!

It's best to copy from your old computer to your new computer before syncing your phone with your new computer for the first time:
    http://osxdaily.com/2010/03/21/copy-itunes-library-from-a-pc-to-a-mac/
If everything were from the iTunes Store, you could do this:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1329
Since it's not all from the iTunes Store, you should copy your library from your old computer to your new one, as noted above. If that's not possible and you can use only your phone as the file source, you will need to use a third-party utility such as Senuti:
    http://www.fadingred.com/senuti/
There are many similar utilities. Some work just as well as Senuti and are even free.

  • Family using one itunes account, need help

A while back my sister got her first ipod so we set up an account for her using dad's email and credit card. Then I got my own and set up my own library on my computer, but still used dad's itunes account. Eventually I came to realize that any giftcards I redeemed could be used by her despite being on a separate computer, so the little brat keeps on using my money.
Anyhoo, my dad just got an iphone, and we figured we might as well all get our own separate accounts seeing how much trouble sharing one has caused. But I'm unsure of how to go about this. If I make a new account for myself, will I still be able to access my own music? Will dad be able to use the old account with no problems?

If I make a new account for myself, will I still be able to access my own music?
Yes, but you will need to keep track of the username and password for both accounts.
Will dad be able to use the old account with no problems?
Yes, unless the password is changed. You need to be able to log into an iTunes Store account for the authorization process needed to use content other than iTunes Plus songs purchased with it.

  • ITunes account- need a visa card!

To have an iStore account, you need a visa debit card. I am too young to have one, i have a visa card, but it is neither credit nor debit, but just an ATM card. This doesn't work. I'm not even trying to buy stuff, just to use my iTunes account to download some of the free podcasts. What do I do?

    Hi,
If you have a Visa card then it should be a debit card. You cannot have a 'credit' card in the UK until you are 18. My guess is that you have a 'solo' type card which is issued to young people by UK banks. You can use this in ATMs or as a chip and pin card in stores. Do you use your card for these purposes? This card will be ok to use on iTunes, as my daughter has one issued by a high street UK bank and has it set up on her itunes account. You will need to be 13 years old to have an itunes account.
    Hope that helps,
    Jon

  • HT1670 I've synced my ipad & iphone to my mac but i don't see my contacts on my address book on my mac?  Using mountain lion as my os if that matters.  New to mac so I need simple instructions please.

Need help adding my contacts from my ipad, iphone, to my mac address book.  Have synced in itunes but don't know how to get to my desktop.  New to mac, so not very savvy, so keep instructions simple.

    Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Application Support/SyncServices
Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Quit the application if it's running. Move the selected item to the Trash. Relaunch the application and test.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
