does imp overwrite everything in database? can it used to copy over database. Firstly there're 2 kinds of export/import utility:
- *1*. The Original export/import (exp/imp).
- *2*. The DATAPUMP export/import (expdp/impdp) starting with Oracle *10.1*.
With the Original export/import, you cannot remove the contents of the Table and replace it. If you want to Truncate or Drop the Tables before the Import, you have to do it by yourself.
With the DATAPUMP, as previously posted, you have the Parameter TABLE_EXISTS_ACTION which can help to manage automatically several case:

Upon closer inspection it appears that the missing photos are in a folder called IPhoto Library. This folder is greyed out when I choose the import folder.
When I use 'show package contents' it reveals the missing photos (below). Why is my iphoto library so scrambled! Thanks for any insight.

Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the new location of the library.

Concatenated PDF file does not show all content.

When I concatenate 2 single page pdf file into one pdf file, the concatenated page does not show all the content. It misses the last line on the 2nd page.
However the thumbnails view shows the missing line correctly.
Also, if I view the concatenated pdf into another pdf view, it shows the content correctly.

Upon further research in the merged pdf file, it appears the merged pdf file has 2 references to the same field "UFE_ISSUE_DATE".
If I edit the pdf file in the text editor and change one of the field name to "UFE_ISSUE_DATE_TEST", then the pdf gets rendered correctly with date value shown correctly!
So, we decided to use 2 different field names in each of the individual pdf for this field only.
But, what causes confusion is that we do have several other fields with same field name in each of the individual pdf file, but upon merge they appear correctly. Searching for such field name in the merged pdf file via text editor, I can see only 1 reference. Not sure, why this particular field "UFE_ISSUE_DATE" has 2 references in the merged pdf file.
Any one has any thoughts?

Does imp overwrite in existing schema or not

if i have data in a particular schema and now i want to again import latest data in same schema
so does my imp overwrie or i have to first empty the schema

What is the oracle version you are using??
If its 10g(impdp) you can use TABLE_EXISTS_ACTION.
If you are on 9i, you can truncate all the tables of the owner and while importing use ignore=y.Or, better would be drop the schema, create the user back , and import the data.

Brand new to Mac, does TM backup all users files, even when not logged on?

Hi Im brand new to Mac so please be gentle with me!!
Im about to use TM for backup, I have an account and have made one for my wife, as we both have an iPod and so Ive herd its easier to use 2 accounts.
She wont be logged on much, so if when Im logged on does TM backup the whole HDD, rather than just the user that is logged on?
if not how does it work to backup everything? do you have to keep logging on?

I have no idea what question the Apple person THOUGHT he was answering, but Time Machine backs up changes for everything in /Users (i.e., for all accounts) whether or not an account happens to be logged in at the moment. Just tested and confirmed.
THE TEST:
My Powerbook has an Admin account a Standard account and the Leopard Guest account.
I Restarted the machine, logged in as the Admin account, and turned off System Preferences / Time Machine. I then created a Text Edit file on the Desktop.
In Time Machine I verified that this file was visible in the current view of the Desktop but not in the immediately prior backup.
I then logged out of the Admin account and logged in as the Standard account.
I turned on System Preferences / Time Machine and did a Back Up Now. I then turned off System Preferences / Time Machine again to insure no further backups might happen.
Of course the Standard account can't see into the Time Machine backups of the folders from the Admin account, so I logged out of the Standard account and logged in again as Admin.
Looking in Time Machine, I now see the Text Edit file both in the current view of the Desktop and in the backup just completed by the Standard account.
I turned System Preferences / Time Machine back on, and deleted the test file. Looking again in Time Machine, the test file is no longer in the current view of the Desktop, it IS in the immediately preceding backup (the one that the Standard account initiated), and is not in the backup prior to that.
END OF TEST
This makes perfect sense since the file system event logs don't care whether a user is still logged in. Nor would a Deep Traversal backup care.

New Ipod touch does not sync all songs

I just got a new ipod touch 32gb, i have itunes 9 on the compter. had 5th generation ipod touch orginally. itunes set to auto sync. plug touch into computer, registered it, showd itouch on itunes. first keep getting several "song can not be sync unkonw error (50). when synce is complete, touch only has 47 songs on it. i have over 1300 songs in itunes. when touch is connected, summary shows that there are a lot of songs. 7 gb. touch shows all playlists but only one or two songs in them? most songs not purchsed through itunes, most are mp3 some are aac. unconnected and reconnected touch several times and still not syncing itunes library. please help

I have an iPod Touch 64GB and over 20,000 songs. I only put approximately 7,500 songs on at a time. I have a song on 2 different playlists. It appears in one playlist, but not the other. My iTunes & iPod are both updated w/ the most recent versions. Is there anything that I can do to rectify this issue?

Does not display all content after first loading of page

Hello all,
I am having quite strange problem which is hard for me to figure out.
I have 8 buttons on my web site. Each button will display different content. My page is: www.itconnect.co.nz
When you go to my page first time, by default "Design & Software" button will be active. Here when you look on first photo you can see that the bottom part is missing - logos.
However when i click again on "Design & Software" button the missing content will appear.
What could be the problem ?

My new macbook pro does not recognize all sd cards

My MacBook recognizes some sd and sdhc cards, others it doesnt. When I first got it a few weeks ago, it recognized them all, but i had to try a few times with some cards. Now these cards don't work at all anymore. On windows laptops they still work. Any idea what the problem could be? Thanks

Go to Settings>iCloud and scroll down to the bottom of the screen. Click on Delete Account and type in your Mom's iCloud password when it asks. Follow the prompts to finish deleting the iCloud account from your phone.
Once you have deleted that iCloud account from your phone, see if the things that you no longer want on your device are gone. If they are, then sign on to iCloud with your own iCloud ID and you will be ready to go.
If there are still things you need deleted from your device then start from scratch by doing a Reset All Content and Settings.

New iTunes library wants to overwrite previous iPod content

I've just purchased a new iMac after my previous one cooked its logic board. I've got my iTunes library on both an external HD and in a data transferred archive created by the in-store techs. I imported to the new iMac library instead of repointing the directory path to read from the archive or the external, because I've chosen to utilize time machine and run things the way Apple intended.
The problem is, now that I've hooked up my iPod, that was synced with the previous library architecture, the new library is 'threatening' to overwrite the contents of my playlists and such, and I don't care to go through the entire library and recreate my previous synced content. Of course, when selecting the iPod - all of the content is 'greyed' out, and as such, I can't simply reproduce it. I'd rather not repoint the library again now that its all safely over to the new iMac's HD, but I can't see a work-around. Any thoughts or ideas?
Oh, and I've also reached my limit on sharing the library across my LAN. I've got 6 macs here at home, and I guess I need to "de-authorize" one of them....which is cruddy.
Lastly, on an unrelated note, can't find a way to register my new QT 10 to the pro I purchased on my previous iMac.... also cruddy.... sigh.
Looking forward to any advice.

There is no Pro version of QuickTime10 as far as I know. You can still use QuickTime7.x and the Pro key will still work.
To prevent a sync when plugging in the iPod - hold down the 'option' and the 'command' keys when plugging in the ipod - key the keys down until the iPod is listed under the Devices list in iTunes - this will prevent a sync from taking place and you will be able to change your settings

I'm new to Oracle and I want to use Oracle ECM in automating some business processes within my company. Hope someone can confirm whether Oracle ECM includes the following features or I have to use third-parties' products?
Does it support capturing of images (scanning of paper documents into digital images)?
Does it store all contents in its database or it support external storage (storing of documents in file system or network drives)?
Does it support documents achieving and Multi-tiers achieving?

paper documents into digital images)?YES. Both Oracle UCM and IPM have OOTB support for ingesting scanned images. Oracle does not supply the scanning hardware though. Most likely you're useing some kind of solution like Kofax.

Photo App does not display all photos

Running iOS 7.0.4 on an iPhone 4S. The new Photo App does not display all photos properly. All photos show up as thumbnails. However, when you tap on some of them, only a blank page is displayed. The rest is fine. This issue started after the upgrade to iOS 7. Is this a bug? Hardware-related?

Ipod touch 4th gen needed a new screen and sleep/wake switch. So, I replace them. I was able to get to settings and do "erase all content and settings". I am not able to totally shut this device off as it keeps restarting after a few seconds.

Device will actually shut off and stay shut off if I leave it connected to the computer. The moment I unplug (3 seconds) the apple logo appears, it boots, unlock screen appears, I can unlock and operate normally, unplugged or not. Just cant get it to completely shut down unplugged. Any thoughts?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem. Maybe you installed a bad component or damaged something during the repair/replacement.
Apple will not help since you worked on the iPod yourself.
