New to Premiere Pro- Errors rendering, exporting, viewing video

I'm very new to Premiere Pro (and my macbook) but have recently got into video editing for my work and am having some issues on my second project. The first project (just a 1 minute video for YouTube) worked fine with no issues. After searching the forumns I have not seen anyone with the same set of issues I am having and I'm hoping someone can point me to what the issue is. I will start with the basic information.
Premiere Pro CS6.0.2
OS X 10.7.4
2.3 GHz Intel Core i7, 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 512 MB
Video taken from GoPro- MPEG-4 movie H.264, AAC
Photos taken from Canon Rebel XSI- JPEG
Audio taken from Zoom H1- MP3
No 3rd party effects or programs in use
Sequence "created from clip"
Files stored locally on machine
Tried exporting using many different codecs including, H.264 HD 1080p 29.97 fps, Quicktime, etc
The issues I am having:
PP will not "render entire work area" for projects. It has worked occasionally if I start a brand new project, but never for projects I have been working on. Error shown below.
Video Preview Error
Error compiling movie.
Unknown error.
Program monitor will not show video. Upon first opening the project, the preview video will play. If I make any edits, try to render, add/delete clips, the preview just shows black- audio still plays.
Will not export any project consistently
Have only been able to get a project to export when first starting up the computer (not recently though)
Even new projects with only one video file have not been able to export (error below)
Encoding a sequence in media encoder also times out and stops half way through encoding.
When encoding I get this error message sometimes right away and sometimes after encoding for a few minutes.
Adobe Media Encoder
Error compiling movie.
Unknown error.
"Adobe has encountered an error and needs to close." This happens sometimes when first opening a project, and sometimes after a project has been worked on for awhile, and sometimes after a failed export.
I've got to assume this is some user issue I am having from being new to the software and trying to learn by doing. That being said, I appreciate any advice or solutions. I have tried to delete render files. I have tried to eliminate all of the photos, all of the video, and all of the audio files (thinking perhaps one of them was corrupt or were not compatible with the sequence settings I have). This is just a simple 1 minute video, and I have spent far to long on it trying to find a solution on my own- THANK YOU for helping me find a solution!

  • New To Premiere Pro - Rendering Out

    Hi Guys,
So I am new to Premiere Pro, so I am sorry for the easy question...
So I have set my in and out points, but every time I go to render just that section, it renders the whole sequence... does anyone have any ideas on what i am doing wrong?? I do not want to delete the rest of the sequence everytime i go and render just a small porition of the project... any suggestions on what to do... and how to accomplish my goal...
    Thanks
    Richard

Can you have multiple work bar's?? For example, if one segment is at the front of the clip and then a couple of mins later you want that piece in addition to the first segment but rendered together... Is that something possible??

  • My pc freezes when premiere pro cc renders get to 98%

my pc freezes when premiere pro cc renders get to 98% it happens in encoder to. Its not the files. I put the hole project file and content on my work server and other computers opens it up and renders its  just fine. but there mac computers and I'm on pc. I have the latest premiere pro cc downloaded from cloude and my graphic drivers are up to date. my specs are:
    Processor (AMD Phenom™ II X6 1055T CPU (6x 2.80GHz/6MB L3 Cache)
    Memory (4 GB [2 GB X2] DDR3-1333 Memory Module
Video Card (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti - 2GB - Single Card)
    Motherboard (ASUS M5A97 - AMD 970)

4Gig of ram to load a 64bit Windows and a 64bit Premiere Pro leaves "virtually nothing" for the program to actually DO anything
Up your ram to at least 8gig and try again... also, what is your nVidia driver version?
Right click in any open area of the Windows desktop
Select NVIDIA Control Panel from the popup window
Select SYSTEM INFORMATION at the lower left corner
Driver version should be the 1st line in Details

  • Premiere Pro CS5 - XDCAM export

    Hello friends,
We are using Premiere Pro CS5 successfully in our video editing. But we have a problem: We export to the format. MXF in HD and SD with no problems. I can copy the clips to the MXF HD PDW-U1 drive smoothly. However,  the export of IMX (30, 40 or 50), and when trying to copy the disc  using the PDW-U1 (formatted disk, free name and multiple format enabled)  the drive does not accept the copy.
Do you have any idea what might be happening? In Premiere Pro CS4 was possible to export and copy to SD for the PDW-U! through op1a.

  • Using Premiere Pro CS3 When exporting as flash file poor picture quality

I'm using Premiere Pro CS3. I shoot green screen in HDV and work in 1440 x 1080. I have been capturing files in Premiere and sending them to Serious Magic Ulta 2. I use this program for keying and adding virtual backgrounds. I save these files as avi. with a resolution of 1440 X 1080. I then bring them back into Premiere Pro for final edit. When I export these video's encoded as mpeg2 theyplay very clear. I am now trying to export as flv. with alpha channel background and the resolution is poor. I working on the transparent background with walk on spokespersons that overlay the HTML page. When In try to play them on my computer the adobe media player is what comes up. I have downloaded flash player but it doesn't select it to play the video. I'm running windows Vista Business platform. What am I doing wrong.

    Thanks for the reply.
The capture and editing have already been done in 1440 X 1080. Should I use this resolution rather than trying to bump it up to 1920 X 1080.
    Thanks

Computer playback generally prefers square pixels.  Make sure to set your output resolution to 1920 x 1080 using a Pixel Aspect Ratio (PAR) of 1.0 or Square.
    See if that helps.

  • Premiere Pro CC won't import video files

Two days ago I used the free trial of Adobe Premiere Pro CC to make a video. Everything was working fine, and I saved the project so I could work on it again later. Today I tried to open Premiere Pro and it told me that my trial had expired and that I needed to buy it. I bought the monthly plan for Premiere Pro CC and opened up my previous project to continue editing. However, when I opened it, all of the files on the dashboard were red and it says "Media Offline". I tried to locate the media files but then a notification pops up that says "Error Message: Format unsupported or files damaged". The video files I'm trying to use are .mov, so it should be working like it did two days ago. It lets me import pictures, but no video. I could really use some help with this, it's a project for work. Thanks so much

    Hi bschmus12,
Try this, rename the folder where your media is and then try to relink. Does that work for you?
    Thanks,
    Kevin

  • I keep getting this message when I launch PP "Premiere Pro cannot find any capable video play modules"

I keep getting this message when I launch PP "Premiere Pro cannot find any capable video play modules". I've read through a few threads and made the recommended changes but still no luck, it crashes everytime. I have a Mac Pro 2010 with a Nivdia Quadro FX 4800.

Hello and thanks for the response. Yes, I've read that post and many others, I still get the same message when trying to open. I've realized there's no way to get tech support for any of the products I'm using. Is there another place hat can help me with this problem? I really wanted to try PP but looks like I won't be able to.

  • Premiere Pro 1.5.1 HDV VIDEO CAPTURE - Canon HV20

    Hi,
For the life of me I cannot get my camera to capture in HDV. I can switch over to DV and it will capture everything just fine. The settings I recorded in are HDV standard, Widescreen 29fps. Not the 24. But it just tells me the device is ofline no matter what I try. I grabbed a stand alone CineForm HDLink and that doesn't detect it either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The Client wants HD, not DV.
Premiere Pro 1.5.1 HDV VIDEO CAPTURE - Canon HV20 firewire
    Thanks in advance!

Ok, I spoke to soon. I kept searching and searching.  Finally found this..
    http://www.hv20.com/showthread.php?t=12131
My camera was locked in DV mode. So I had to switch it to HDV/DV
"b) As many have said you need to be sure that the camera is set ot output in HDV, and not DV locked. Because I am a bit of a dunce I found it difficult to locate that, even with the manual so here are some foolproof instructions on how to get there:
    in "Play" Mode > FUNC > MENU > PLAY/OUT SETUP2 > DV OUTPUT [set this to HDV/DV]"
    That did it.

  • Premiere Pro stops rendering and gives error message when encounters "RGB Color Corrector"

Premiere Pro (and also Encore) stops rendering and gives error message when it encounters a clip containing the "RGB Color Corrector" in any clip.  It will process clips without RGBCC, but will stop when it gets to one with RGBCC activavted.  PP will render clips if other effects, such as "Fast Color Corrector", "Color Balance (HLS)", and "Three-Way Color Corrector" are selected. However, these do not have the capabilities that The other color correctors will not do what RGB color corrector does, so I need to have this working to finish a large product that is due to the client.  Please help me..... I am not using the Creative Cloud version, and can't find either a download for the new update from 2013, or a phone number to talk to anyone.

Using a Win7 computer with 2.8 quad core processor, 24 gig of ram, Nvidia Quadro 5000 video card.  Don't think I have any plugins.  I looked at one a while back for cleaning up grainy video, but I am not sure I paid for that.  Think I deleted it.
Incidentally, someone named Jim on another part of the forum mentioned that this problem has been fixed in the CC version of the program.  I am using the non-CC version because I am 68 years old and only do seminars and documentation video.  Don't need so many bells and whistles, and definitely don't need learning curves every few weeks.  CS6.0.3 works fine for me.  By the way, someone else said that maybe version 6.0.1 might work better and I should revert to that.  Not sure if it is the version i have on the disk upgrade to 5.5 that I purchased in December.
As it stands now, I have 7.5 hours of a seminar that is ready to go out the door.  If there is an upgrade I can get from Adobe, maybe you can tell me about it. If I have a setting incorrect in the video output format, maybe I can change that.  So far it just happens with clips in my video that have RGB color correction.

  • Premiere Pro 6 AAF export variable rate error. Why?

    Hello,
I'm trying to export an AAF out of Premiere Pro 6 and it says variable rate error.
I've been scouring to try and find a reason for this error and so far no luck.
The footage in the timeline is REDEpic footage. The framerate is 23.976.
Many of the clips have timewarps/timeremapping on them.
I did not build the project, so please be aware of my ignorance about this Premiere Pro file.
I'm only trying to get the AAF to conform elsewhere. How do I fix this or what is the problem?
    Thank you for your help.

    This might be relevant:
    Exporting AAF files
    (Excerpt):
"The plug-in converts video clip speed changes (slow, fast,
reverse playback) to the Avid Media Composer Motion Effect,
which is the only supported effect."
If you aren't conforming in Avid, here's a time-consuming workaround:
Export all of the timewarp / time remap clips from Premiere to
lossless digital intermediate (DI) files, then use them to replace
the original clips in a duplicate Timeline before exporting your AAF.

  • Premiere Pro CC rendering problems : can't see my medias anymore

    Hello,
I started my first project on Premiere Pro CC, but it looks like PP CC isn't working well concerning rendering, I think I'm going to use my Premiere Pro CS6 again...
Sometimes, the rendering simply stops working : I can't see my output view anymore, only the "Media Pending". Removing media cache, rendering files, no effect. Closing the project and opening it again, still the same. Sometimes I can get the files back by selecting another rendering Engine, but after a few minutes, I loose my medias again.
I've seen the other post concerning preview files lost and the "empty sequence solution', but mine is different : I can't simply get the view back.
The other problem is that when I close PP CC, and try to launch it again, If first have to manually stop the PP CC process, which seems to be crashed as it doesn't completly stop.
    Olivier

Ok, I just met a new problem, with the "unexpected MUTE" bug.
No need to answer my previous problem, I've decided to stop using Premiere Pro CC, which needs to be seriously fixed by Adobe teams. more than 60 euros per month for such a quality is a SHAME.
Let's switch back to PP CS6.
