New to SB AUDIGY 2

Hi Everyone!
Ive been reading all I can about this card but I'm not a super tekkie and its really getting confusing. Recently I was just trying to play music via my soundcard in a chat window with a few friends and its just a total no go....Everyone seems to have a stereo mix selection which I dont seem to have...in looking at my choices i get further confused. Is there somewhere where I can find out what all these different selections mean...ie. Analog Mix?

In the Creative Surround Mixer, on the far right there is a column labelled "REC." Below this, to the right of a small icon, is a small yellow upside-down triangle. Clicking on that will bring up a popup with a list of recording sources. Choose a recording source such as "WhatUHear" or "Analog Mix." Set the volume slider whereever you want it. You can activate the Creative Surround Mixer by clicking on the icon if you have it on your desktop, or go to the START menu, click on "Programs," then select "Creative" from the program list, then "Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS," and then click on "Creative Surround Mixer." I'm assuming you installed the Creative software from the installation CD that came with your Audigy 2 ZS. If you haven't done that, then put in the SB CD (it should autorun) and select the standard install to get these options. HTH

New Driver for Audigy 2 NX - No 44.1Khz output ?

I installed the latest driver(.0.0099 - 26-Feb-0) for my Audigy 2 NX soundcard running on Windows 7. This the first time I am using the NX on Windows 7.
Everything is working fine, except I notice that in the "Output Rate" dropdown selection (that appears in the Windows "Advanced" tab under Properties of the playback device) there is no option for 6bit 44.Khz. The lowest is 48Khz. So does this mean a 44.Khz signal will always get resampled to 48Khz ? This is for the *analog* output only, not digital(spdif).

My name is Felippe from Brazil. I bought an use Audigy 2 NX, that didn?t come with the Instalation and Applications CD. So I started looking for the drivers and applications to install. I installed the beta driver. I managed to install the sound card with it. The problem is the applications. Some of them I did the download (wave studio, creative mediaplayer), but the EAX CONSOLE I couldn?t install. So I tryed to install the Support Pack 3.8 that you published, with no success. The error code is "-6003". As I do not know much about computers, I ask you to help me. I work with music, voice recording, and EAX CONSOLE is really useful, since I do not know any program to replace. Well, I wait your response as soon as possible. Thank you. Felippe

New computer and audigy 1 platin

I bought a new computer , here are the spec of the motherboard:
asus m2n32 SLI platinium wi-fi(whith sound chipset integrated)
I would like to use my old audigy in place of the integrated sound.
The drivers seems to be well installed, but when i try to install the utilities from the CD (like audio HQ), nothing happened and i had to kill the process to quit the CD menu.
I 'd like to know a way to install this CD whitout problem, if this is possible.

I think you must first go to the Bios setup and disable the integrated soundcard, then try again. Hope that will help.

I can't install new drivers on Audigy

I have installed drivers SBA2_EAX4DRV_0303.exe
I downloaded last update SBA2_PCWDRV_LB__84_55-R.exe from support site.
But I can't install it - message box with text about Audigy 2 card doesn't install in computer appears.
I saw in "requirements" what SP2 needed. I installed SP2 on Windows XP, but it didn't solve the problem.
What can I do to solve this problem?

<SPAN>When in vain... cheat.First go to Device manager and uninstall your creative (WDM) device by right clicking on it. If you have the drivers-amd64-04805.zip file then extract that and run the setup program again to uninstall other files.-- REBOOT --Windows will come up with the found new hardware wizard, open it and select install from specific location.Download the SBA2_WEB64_LB_2_03_0004.exe file from the creative site. Run the installation and wait for it to come up with the confirmation box about closing all other applications first (two buttons [ok] and [cancel].When it is at this point go back to your install from location hardware box and tell it to include the search path "C:\windows\temp\" in there look for a dir starting CRF000 or simular. Then browse to Drivers and wdm. Thus your include path should look something like ... "C:\WINDOWS\Temp\CRF000\Drivers\wdm". If you can't find this dir then search the windows temp directory for a folder called WDM and you will want the one containing the newest files.Hit ok and windows will find the drivers in this dir and install them for you. Just point the rest of the game input device etc to the same folder and then cancel the creative installer and reboot.Just like magic your sound card will be working. If you can't follow this then maybe you should just wait for creative to sort the problem out. =) It seems like a very common problem

HELP: Updating to new Beta OpenAL Audigy 2 ZS drivers has permanently screwed my PC

WHY I AM IN THIS MESS:
Here is something silly I did: I tried to use the latest Beta drivers for my Audigy 2 ZS. I followed the Creative procedure, and as expected, I lost the functionality of the EAX console etc. I couldn't see any increase at all in any games (framerate was the same) so I immediately used System Restore to go back to my previous driver set.
Guess what? EAX and the other apps wouldn't work there either! SO basically, it had ruined my entire creative installation, even though I did exactly what they said and took precautions (system retore) to make sure everything was okay.
So, of course, I think 'I'll make sure I put this right, I'll use the Creative 'CleanSweep' procedures to remove and then reinstall my drivers'.
I did this, and guess what now? It wouldn't let me install the Driver CD apps, as the 'cleansweep' has left dozens of bits of junk littering my hard disk and registry. Eventually, after much much work I finally get the apps to install. Everything appears hunky-dory...
Guess what? It isn't. I now get a 'pop/click' sound at the end of sound effects in games. Not all sounds, but enough to make them unplayable. For example in Unreal 2004, I fire the assault rifle and there is a click at the end, in IL2 I fire the guns and every round has a crackle at the end. In any game that plays speech (like NASCAR, Indycar, IL2, Combat Flight Sim 3) there is a click.static at the end of the speech sample. Also, when games load and the soundcard is accessed for the first time there is a burst of static or clicking, also when games close down - not all games however. The problems do not ocurr in Counterstrike Source, unless I play for about an hour and then when a lot of sound effects are playing it gets all crackly and static-filled. None of these effects existed in any of these games before. There are no sound problems with MP3s, video, midi etc (although there is sometimes a click at the end of playing an MP3 - this was also not there before).
This is NOT an EAX problem, as in Unreal 2004 even in 'safe' sound mode (and every other setting) the noise is still there. Same in IL2, all settings same noise.
Needless to say, I am highly annoyed, especially as EXACTLY THE SAME THING happened on my old computer with an Audigy over two years ago after a driver update. In that case, I had used system restore and everything had been okay.
MY CURRENT SITUATION:
I have just removed everything Creative from my computer, including all registry keys, all Temp references, everything, have followed all the advice given about conflicts etc. I have used the latest Driver Cleaner to get rid of the hidden files creative leaves in your windows system folder. As far as the PC is concerned, there has never been a soundblaster card in this computer. I have reinstalled the original drivers from the retail CD - JUST the drivers.....and it's still there. I still have exactly the same pop/crackle after sound effects. Let me just stress that the system hardware and applications have not been altered - this only started ocurring after installing the Beta drivers.
How can this be happening after I have done a completely clean install, and everything else is as it was when the PC was working fine?
I have even gone to the extent of removing my old PCI modem in case of any conflicts, but it's just the same.
If anyone has had this problem (remember this is not a constant hiss/crackle/pop it is only after sound effects and accessing the card for the first time in apps) and has managed to fix it, please let me know. I'm sure a lot of other people have had this nightmare too - I mean I've had it myself on my old PC!

I had the same problems with my Audigy 2 ZS and beta driver, brother. I tried everthing- defragmentation, system restore, clean WIN XP- installation- nothing could resolve clicking and framerate drops in games. Then I remembered a MICROSOFT- article about increasing your sound performance. Go to hardware manager and check, whether DMA is selected for your hard dri've. I use a mobile rack for my hard dri'ves and those were incorrectly recognised by my BIOS. Simply activated DMA- by BIOS for the hard dri've- voila, no more sound stuttering !
I guess you suffer from BIOS or data transfer problem. I hope that this hint was helpful !

Installing new Drivers for Audigy 2

I'm currently playing Vanguard and was told I should update my sound drivers. The drivers I have came with the system and I think they're like from 2005. SO... I have the new drivers but I've had experience in the past of installing sound drivers and never getting the sound to come back. The last time I tried doing it I just rolled my system back to a restore point after giving up on getting the sound back.
Is there a secret to doing it's From my understanding...you just run the application from Creative and it should uninstall the old drivers and install the new ones. That all goes as planned but when I reboot (as prompted) I never have sound. I'm not sure if I'm forgetting to do something or just missing something.
Any suggestions?

I haven't had troubles installing updated sound drivers before. Try uninstalling the old ones first and start fresh with the new ones. If it is an upgrade ONLY (needs current drivers), and you have had issues in the past, then i would backup before doing so.

No sound after rebooting on new installation of Audigy 2 ZS Plati

I have already done the Clean boot throubleshooting including the uninstallation of the card, so there where no referenses left from the card. Then i downloaded the driver 2.8 and run the installation, when that was done i got sound from the speakers, but that installation demands a reboot, so i rebooted, and then a new "finishing installaton" message turns up and after that is completed i no longer have any sound. I have run the speaker set up and changed from the 7. system to the 2/2. speaker set up that i have. but there is still no sound. So what do i do now ?

Need help connecting Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro to ATI All-in-wonder 9600XT to get sound from tv tu

Recently purchased an Audigy 2 ZS?Platinum?Pro sound card. I need help figuring out how to get sound when I us the tv tuner for my?All-In-Wonder?9600XT video card. The audio output on the video card needs an audio input to connect on the sound card, but this sound card?does not appear have one.
Does anyone know how I can connect the video card to sound card so I get sound when using tv tuner? Where is the micro In line?I have it on the front panel on the external unit!!? But I would don't use this In line for this application!On my old sound card SB Li've! Platinum, I had a line at the rear PCI card (Line In & Micro Line In) and I had two others Line In on the Front Panel, It's the best, but this old card work only with Win 98 or Win 2000.... ? Hi please anyone help me i just install my new sound blaster audigy se i also disable my onboard sound the problem is i dont get proper 5. surround sound from my speakers it just seem that all the speakers play but dont get the crossover ,I have a cheap 5. system which i bought together with my sound card the bran is duraband model ht-397 80 watts i bouth these two products from wal-mart and i set it up in my bedroom.Also when I go to the speaker checks to hear if each speaker is working it seem i would hear the two rear speaker test sound would come from the two front speakers? i dont like this because before i hand two simple speakers and would hear the change over.. pease anyone? if you can help please reply asp...

May I know what OS are you running? Please make sure that all background applications are temporarily disabled when installing the sound card.

I am new to the Audigy card and would like to know how to record whatever is playing on my computer such as something from the internet.

You can use the MediaSource application to do the recording. Make sure you have set the source to 'What U Hear' option. You can also check the MediaSource FAQ at Knowledgebase. Look under Create with MediaSource.

Bsod @ startup after installing Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS

System is a custom built 2005 XPS running XP WMC 2005 Service pack 3 installed
w/ all the lastest Win patches, WMC upgrades, and virus protection.
It used to work great. Wanted to clean it out tho, so did a fresh WinXP WMC install.
Installed st off the original SB Audigy 2 ZS disk that came w/ the system.
Computer has to reboot in order for install to take effect, fine....np.
BSOD at startup before XP can load.

STOP : 0x0000000A ( 0x00000000, 0x000000C, 0x0000000, 0x804EBF8)
Reboot with last known working configuration, works fine. Maybe its the older drivers
I add/remove programs - Remove all Creative progs, go to Creatives website and dl
latest drivers - 2.8.00.exe. I reboot freshly, XP loads fine, hardware manager finds
new hardware (my Audigy 2 ZS soundcard) and wants to install. I just cancel out the gump
and go to where I dled 2.8.00 and run the install. Program must delete previous driver
in order to install the new version and reboot.....fine....np. Computer reboots fine, install takes and BINGO !
Ive got sound. MP3s play, 5. surround works fine.
Problem : Everytime I reboot the computer after this, I get the same Bsod noted above at startup.
I reboot, hit F8 and pick Reboot with last known working config and its boots fine except......no sound.
Ive done this 4 times now to make sure its the Audigy drivers/software pack. I get sound fine after the
st reboot when its finishing the install. Everything works great. If I turn off the computer or reboot after
that, its the Bsod @ startup.
If I leave the sound gone, I can reboot w/o any problems. Systems works fine w/o sound installed.
If I want sound I have to install 2.8.00, let it reboot to finish the install and I've got sound. I just cant
turn off the computer or reboot again or its a Bsod. The way it is now if I want sound, everytime I turn
off/reboot, I have to F8, reboot using last known working config, delete all Creative, reboot again this
time normally (it willbecause theres no Creative installed and it already had one good reboot), install
Creative and wait for the reboot to finish install.
Having to reinstall Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS everytime I reboot is unacceptable.
Ive never had any problems with Creative before and own 3 computers, 2 of which use Creative products.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Problem fixed. Creative's crappy drivers were not deleting with their uninstall programs
and none of their newer driver install programs deleted their older crappy drivers.
Driver Sweeper downloaded, run in safety mode, and wiped all Creative's crappy drivers
from the computer. Reinstalled the newest driver package (the same one that wouldnt
delete their older crap drivers) and everything runs fine now.
Id recommend ANYONE use Driver Sweeper if they're trying to reinstall any of this company's
sound drivers since they can't get their new driver packages to delete older drivers.
Poor programming guys, really.

Wiring of Sound Blaster Audigy 2

Hi all, just got my new Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS sound card from newegg.com, which came with no software or manual of any kind. A day before I went ahead and took out my old Sound Blaster Audigy , which was having problems; now the wiring is the same but I just need to know where what goes as I do not remember. for most part the wires that plug into the one labeled "SB 394", looks like it should be one single plug but it's a collection of 6 small labeled wires. Anyone who can tell me in what order these wires plug into the "SB394" slots? They are labeled, VG, VP, TBA + TBA- and so on.

She is already installed and working, but in AUDIOHQ she is not appearing the icon of SoundFonts as appeared when I had a Creative Li've.
