New to Soundtrack, looking to use song created in iWeb

I am just starting to utilize my new mac. I am creating an iWeb page for my brother's wedding. I used Soundtrack to cut specific verses from various songs to use on the webpage. Now I am trying to get the .stmp file into a usable format for the iWeb page. I just don't know what the next step is. I am guessing that Soundtrack was not intended exactly for this but it worked fine.

The Soundtrack manual says to take the .aiff file that you've exported, open it in iTunes and convert it to either MP3 or AAC. To do this in iTunes, in case you don't know, just right-click (or control-click) the file and hit "Convert to __" (depending on what your preferences are in iTunes, it will either say AAC or MP3 - to change this, go to the Advanced->Importing Tab in your iTunes preferences and change the Import Using: option to whatever you want your file to convert to).
Sorry if I've explained too much in telling you a simple thing.

So I'm hoping to get back into photoshop, my knowledge at the moment is pritty minimal, but i'm going to start learning how to use it again.
I'm new to this forum and don't intend to come on here often for advice but i hope that someone would be kind enough to point me in the direction that i'm looking for, i would be very grateful.
Firstly, i haven't yet decided which adobe photoshop product is best suited for what i'm looking for and i aim to go and explore the trials first to find out.
I'm looking to create designs with software that doesn't really have any limits in terms of creating designs.
I was wondering if someone could give me some links to a tutorial or something that explains how to create the stencilling effect in the image that is seen as a tree with a cityscape in the background, and possibly the other effects seen on the t-shirt. I know it might be a lot to ask but it would really mean a lot if someone could explain how you create effects like this.

As for combining images like that a combination of Blend If-settings (one can split the handles by alt-click-dragging them)), Layer Groups set to Blend Modes other than Pass Through and Grtadient Maps may be employed to maintain high editability.
One could also just use the images as Layer Masks for Solid Color Layers (and use Levels or Curves to get the intended contrast), though.

New to inDesign - looking for help with creating booklets

Looking for a tutorial/answer on how to set up my book so that the pages can be printed, folded in half (like a brochure/magazine) so that I can bind the pages myself in a book. Not sure if my page size would be what I want the finished book size to be or if I need to double the page width setup size, because I will be folding them in half to put the book together. I know there must be a magic button as well that will sort the pages and keep them in the right order, once I fold them. Does this make sense to anyone?

Hello, new here and looking for suggestions on creating a conf script

Hi,
The current project that I am working on would like to make a java display window to be fully customizable from a conf script.
the java display window has 10 fields or so, which are updated every second. the java object passes to JNI, gets populated by C++ data, and returns back to java for display.
Now, how is one able to create a script that can modify that java window to display only certain fields, lets say 1-5.?
suggestions, or know of an area that i can look into?

Error creating a new VM on OVM Server using 'xm create'

Hi,
I'm trying to create VM using an existing config file bundled with the OVM distribution, like "xmexample1". I've also ensured that all the entries in it, such as, reference to the kernel image, etc. are correct. However, when I run the command
xm create xmexample1
it fails with the following error
Error(<domain-uuid>, "VM_Metrics")
I noticed that another user had a similar issue, but he was running into it occassionally. However, I'm running into it consistently. Any suggestions on how to solve this?

Do you have ULN access? If so, you should run up2date on your Oracle VM server to get the latest version of ovs-agent. That has far more sensible error messages instead of the "vm_metrics" thing. Otherwise, check /var/log/ovs-agent/ovs_operation.log or xend.log to see if you can find anything more specific.

Can you create an iWeb domain from an iWeb sight?

What happens if the computer you are using to create the iWeb crashes? Your iWeb page is still out there but the domain in Application Support/iWeb is now gone. Can I recreate that from the original site? I feel kind of dumb creating a whole new site that is still active.
This first came up because we run mobile accounts in our school. I only sync the desktop and documents folders. Then when a student moved to a new computer, the domain was not there. Or at least that is what I discovered. What they saw was when they opened iWeb, all the work they just did was gone. It wanted to start over. Even though what they had done prior was still on the web.
I am getting ready to show some of my teachers iWeb. I don't want them to have this same problem. Their sites may be quite extensive. And that much work to go lost would be a shame.

Hi Brian,
iWeb's Domain file is kept in the user's Home folder Library:
Users/username/Library/Application Support/iWeb/Domain
I think the easiest thing to do in your situation when you're finished working is just copy the Domain file to a usb flash thumb drive. Then you have your work with you and you can open and edit your site(s) from any machine running the same version of iWeb.
Remember also that flash drives can/will fail at some point. If you are building large sites it's not a bad idea to burn a copy of the Domain to a DVD now and then.

well if you establish a new apple id for your wife that would be best unless you email all of the existing photos to your email and then when you have established a new id then you log into your email on the new id and save all of your pics onto it by pressing on tthe pic for about 5-8 seconds then options will come up and you press the save to my album ..as for the music if you can copy and paste, through computer, the songs then awesome!

Re-Creating Entire System on New Mac From External Drive Using Time Machine

Hi all -
Sorry if this question has been posted, I've look extensively and haven't seen it in this exact form, and I'm paranoid about this stuff. I also can't get a straight answer from Apple store employees.
I travel extensively with my MacBook, and when I'm home, I use Time Machine to back up all data from my MacBook onto an OWC external hard drive.
My question is, if my MacBook is ever lost, stolen, or damaged, and its internal hard drive is no longer accessible, and I have to buy a new MacBook, can I use Time Machine to access the backup data on my external drive and transfer it to my new MacBook's internal drive, thus re-creating my entire system on my new MacBook, including all settings, preferences, files, absolutely everything exactly as it was on my old MacBook?
This is by far the most likely need I'll ever have for this backup data, so if Time Machine doesn't help me to re-create my system exactly as it was on a new laptop, it's not of much use, and I'll switch backup software.
Related question - I read somewhere that Time Machine keeps making backups on your external hard drive until it runs out of space. Does that mean it literally uses up every bit of space on the external drive? Because overstuffing my old external drive is what killed it, and cost me a huge chunk of change and several weeks to get the recoverable data off the drive. Or does Time Machine know enough to stop backing up when there is only "X" amount of space left on the drive, and if so, at what amount of remaining free space does it stop?

If you need to restore everything to a new Mac, you simply have your TM drive connected when you start up the new Mac and during the Welcome routine that runs when you start up a new Mac for the first time you will be presented with the option of migrating your user info, settings, files, applications, etc., from a Time Machine backup. You just click "Yes" and all your backed-up info will be transferred to your new Mac.
Time Machine continuous "cleans up" backups so you do not need to worry about TM pushing a drive to its capacity limits, or even close to that.

HT1589 Why does creating a new library only look for mp3 and AAC files. why not ALAC and AIFF ?

I want to add a new library so i can use on sepcific devices. However it does not att AIFF or ALAC files. I always import using AIFF into my standard library.
If i want to use only mp3 files in the new library do i have to create them first in my standard library then they will appear in the new library. then delete from the original library but keep files?

iTunes can now downsample to 128k, 192k or 256k...

Yep, that bit I get, but switching in and out of libraries and trying to keep things up to date is easier said than done. I'm just trying to point out there might be an acceptable alternative that is easier to manage.

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")

When creating reply on mail the application crashes. When creating new mail it says "Kan bewerking niet uitvoeren" in english: "Unable to execute action".
Any idea why creating mail is not possible?
